[Q] Is this phone worth it? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I'm thinking about picking one up at full retail price since I'm no where near qualifying for an upgrade. Do you guys think it's worth it? I wanted to be sure before I drop $570 (after taxes) for it.

I owned the Sprint Gs2 for 3 weeks. Great performance, no stuttering/lag ANYWHERE unlike on this phone. No lag on home screen even when there is an intensive live wallpaper going on.

Ditto.
There was a noticeable slowdown once there was a live-wallpaper in the background.
I know this because I've personally used the European version of the GS2 and I can definitely tell that despite the higher clockspeeds, there is a slowdown and the occasional stutter. This was not present on the EU GS2 despite having things like live wallpapers.
It could be the case that there is no proper HW Acceleration going on here.

So there's a little lag every now and then? Man, that's disappointing since I figured Samsung would got optimizations down by now. They used the same Qualcomm chip in their hometown Korean Galaxy S II LTE. I guess I better hold off for the Nexus Prime, I just hope it has UMTS 850/1700/1900 all in one like the Tmobile GSII.

The nexus prime is suppose to be using a ti omap processor which is worst than qualcomm and exynos.

I thought the rumors were the Nexus Prime having a 1.5ghz Exynos, with Verizon getting the TI OMAP version for LTE.

OMAP 4 is Cortex A9. TI usually has higher performing processors than qualcomm..

I think it's worth it. With Verizon most likely getting an exclusive on the Nexus for some time, the SGS2 is the best thing on T-Mobile right now. I'm coming from the Nexus S and love this phone. Once we have root and custom ROMs this thing will be even better. That being said, I'll probably dump it and buy the Nexus if/when it comes to Tmo
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk

I paid full price to hold me over until Nexus Prime arrives, which I will get on 2 year contract discount. I figured that the Prime might cost more at full price than the Hercules when it comes to TMO. The Amaze is even higher than the Hercules now and that clinched it for me.
Also better to have Pure Google phone on contract so you get updates first. I am coming from the Vibrant which has not received a Gingerbread update yet.

It was worth it to upgrade from the Sensation 4G. Total was $279 after selling my old phone. $600 outright is hefty,
The two things that decided it for me was the dual cell HSPA. The Nexus Prime probably won't support this, just HSPA+ 21. Both have AT&T and T-Mobile 3G/4G support so, that also helped me upgrade from the Sensation 4G

I think.its worth every penny. I.just got mine 6 hours ago and I'm amazed (no pun intended) on how the screen looks. Its so bright and the blacks are really black. I love the phone its fast, smooth, downloaded apps in a blink of an eye literally. The only thing is I wish it had a higher resolution. But its nit a deal breaker everything. Is great. Its also super light and thin!

I was very hesitant in getting this cause I only qualified for an early upgrade which took off only about 100 bucks. Why pay over 400 to extend my contract. It was tough on the wallet.
Had it for a full day and I'm glad I did. Came from a MT4G and all I can say is wow. Don't know what all the complaining is about. Guess it all depends on what phone you're coming from.
It does all that I need it to do and more. Mainly use it for work, lots of nav and as a media player. Worth every penny.

Just got mine a couple hours ago off craigslist. 300+ some crappy ps3 games lol.
No box or charger tho. The phone had never been turned on as the battery was still sealed. Pretty good deal imo as im not due for an upgrade til 2013 (thanks sensation) and the early upgrade they gave me would have cost $470 or so. I already registered it with samsung and everything is cherry.
I top out over 10mps here whereas the Sensation only got around 2-3 lol.
100% better phone, forget the qHD.

Worth It
I just paid full price for my device. I don't really mind because I will still have an upgrade in less than a year. Is anyone else getting sick of all the nexus prime chatter? You know people will complain about it once its released. No phone is ever good enough these days. Don't get me wrong, Im sure it will be a nice phone. Im looking forward to getting the SGS2 rooted and CM7 slapped on it. This phone will be solid for some time......

Same here. I paid full price for mines and im not disapointed. Love ever bit of it.

Bought mine at full price. First time I have ever done so. I was going to wait for the Nexus Prime/galaxy or whatever but I got tired of my girlfriend *****ing about how much she hates her Blackberry and that she wanted Android back so I bought the SGS2 and gave her my Mytouch4g with Virtuous Unity and she loves it. Secondary reason were I can actually say I like Touchwiz 4. Im sure there will be root and the next versio of Cyanogenmod at some point so I am happy with my purchase.

I paid full price and i'm not regretting it, seeing how I checked the screen for 15 minutes in a dark backroom before exchanging my Amaze for it.
Beautiful screen runs better than the amaze, just hope my battery life is going to be as good.

I was in your shoes as well.. I wanted to return my sgs2 before the 14days. But after a long thought I decided to keep it..am loving it. Its great.. I read up on the sgs3 but there has been debates going on over multi cores vs battery life/efficiency. Am starting to think the so called quad core is probably a mini core that equals 2(dual).. Also if you get the white on. Try and get a case. Because if your phone is stained and it sticks you might not like it.. That's why I still like any daily use item in black..

Dual/quad cores are just marketing gimmicks. You don’t need that kind of power to run 99% of your daily tasks.

Agreed..it's all supply and demands.. The people wants it. Manufacturer supply. Imagine the first week this phone came out. It sold over 3million just the first week..the ads bombardment of dual core and it capability just enticed people and so they now decided to make quad core..anyway like you said its all gimmick. Dual core is good enough.

how long are you willing to wait? How much are you willing to spend?
You can get a sIII in a few months but you'll spend like $700~. Chances are a variant will be out for t-mobile but that will probally be like 9 months from now. If you can wait then wait but by that time ther will be better phones on the horizon. This phone hasn't been out long and already there are sIII rumors swirling
Honestly, you should be okay with the G2X for a while yet... while the SGS2 is a great phone, it's not a massive improvement over what you currently have. Just be patient in this case, I'd say.

Somewhat right. Just that the sg2 is already clocked at 1.5 which you can do to g2x. And plus, all phones run the same apps from the market. If you buy a new phone, youre gonna put the same ol apps on it and just a piece of mind knowing you have a faster phone. I did have g2x, it did have problems for me with 3 returns, but if youre a lucky one that doesnt. Good.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
if your g2x isnt acting up i dont think so...g2x is WAAAAAYYYYYYY faster. My friend has a g2x and he wants an S2 just because it looks cool but his phone is way faster then mine.
and if you think 9 months EOL is instant then you might wanna go look back at the G2, HD7, Exhibits and the Torch those were instant.

Basically. My brother has a G2X, and he likes it quite a bit, and hasn't given him any issues - then again, he upgraded from a G1, so he might be a bit less picky than most of us.
Keep ur G2X. The only reason I chose SG2 is cuz it has NFC. The G2X is a great phone and probably has all the features you need.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
like what other said, yes, gs2 is a better phone, but is there a rush to upgrade? not really, its just a hype, and you see those commercials that makes you get one, since they're on all carriers or something lol.
You have to ask yourself, what are you going to do on your gs2 that your g2x can't do?
I know g2x are around 150-200 around my parts on CL and gs2 are 400-450 easily. Think about the difference and realize what you invest your money into. so a $200-300 difference.. thats a mini vacation, that's a skydiving trip, that's 2 years at 24 hour fitness, a round trip flight, that's about 1 lucky hand in vegas (HAR HAR). You can buy a new 32" tv with that, or almost an i3 laptop.
So if you have a quality g2x keep it. You're not gonna go flashing crazy on the gs2 if you're one of those people.
But if you're ballin and have means to spend, totally get the gs2.
thanks for everyone's opinions i really dont know what to do now that i read about the lg x3..i really was interested in the sII cause of the screen size because almost everything else is the same also because g2x is not getting ics.i have one more day to think about it cus my brother is getting it as a bday gift so ill see.
Just keep it, all ICS is just UI, it still functions the same as every other OS. Ginger to Ice Cream is like Eclair to Gingerbread.. Its all the same functionality..

Don't worry about not getting ICS, because I imagine the G2X will be supported via CM9
If your always gonna be worried about the next best thing you might as well not even buy anything. Everytime a phone comes out everyone says "Should i wait for the next one?". There is ALWAYS going to be a next one!
our s2 is better than g2x in many many ways
1. faster processor
2. faster gpu
3. more storage
4. amoled+ screen, movies look amazing
5. ice cream sandwich to come(and its a lot better than ginger..trust me)
but you should keep the g2x
with many new phones on the way there is absolutely no point getting the s2 right now..

Galaxy nexus loosing value fast??

Why is the galaxy nexus loosing so much value so fast?
People pay close to 800 not even half a year ago... really??
Now you easy get one brand new, sealed for less then 500. Its actually cheaper then the galaxy s2 (year old phone) and of course way cheaper the the note.

Idk but I'm glad the gnex will be my 1st nexus device due to the fact it's so affordable.ironically it's still $300 with a 2 year contract through Verizon yet for $130 more I am getting one for tmo with no contract.awesome.Plus I still have the s2 so with that and the gnex I'll have some bargaining chips if something better comes along.
I don't really see it dropping significantly anymore until its closer to the release of the next Nexus or after the SGSIII drops.
It will hover around the $400's and then probably $300's when almost at Nexus release.
It's only because of these random dailydeals that the price really started to go below $500

Precisely...That's the primary reason, on top of that the GSM variant is not available in the US. If advertising was on that of GS2, would be a different story. Check out verizons site, the nexus is not their primary focus, MOTO Droid is, while you're there, check out the retail value on the Nexus....
I think it was about a month and a half ago since I last saw a Nexy commercial for Big Red...
http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/...t&action=viewPhoneDetail&selectedPhoneId=5801
Yeah I'd probably have to agree, I just bought a clean esn verizon galaxy nexus in great condition off craigslist for $300 (I think it's still 300 on contract from verizon too). I think that most people just don't care about the fact that its a nexus and the benefits that it brings. Plus the marketing for this phone has been almost nonexistent.
Its like a car. As soon as you use it it loses value. Even if you don't it will still use value.
Plus, we all know the only piece of technology that doesn't lose value are iOS devices.

This is because it's a niche phone. It's not a phone that Samsung pushes advertising-wise, despite carrying 'Galaxy' name. Differently from Galaxy S series that Samsung carries throughout the year, most Galaxy Nexus sales come from tech-savvy early-adopters.
It's still the best phone out there for me, I've used it for months and I love it. I don't care at all how much it costs today, since I am not buying it today.
I've wanted a GSM one forever, I'm on AT&T. Just bought one for $490 ish the other day off Amazon. Hands down the best Android device and smoothest Android device I've used out of the box. I've recently had a Galaxy Note "AT&T" model,Galaxy S2 AT&T model.
I thought about getting a One X but I really don't see a need for a quad core phone currently. I only play dinky games like doodle jump, temple run etc. just so me and the 8 yr old can compete on high scores on my phone but leave the higher quality gaming to my Xbox and even tablet. Who knows I might pick up a AT&T one X come May as I have 2 upgrades due in May when it's appose to come out, than maybe sell it for a profit . I dunno never had a HTC or liked Sense. But the one X looks nice, not gonna hate or anything.
All in all the Nexus has been my most pleasant butter smooth experience on a Android so far. Touch wiz got old fast on my other devices. Vanilla ICS is king and more importantly so is a bloatfree and carrier brandingless phone! Although my lock screen still says AT&T lol.
Because there's to many phones coming out lol

thank me.. please
Because it was brought through the Gray Market and flooded the US. Negrielectronics said it's its highest seller, and they had a monopoly along with a couple of other importers. Now that everyone's importing them, price is falling way down and since the US isn't regulating it through BestBuy and such, it's crashed the value. Sucks, but that's just the way it is. Blame Google for no BestBuy launch at $560ish like the Nexus S.

Over here in the UK the galaxy SII is still the 'go-to' device. Why? Because the advertising has constantly been rammed down people throats for a year. Samsung knew what they were doing with the marketing and its worked a treat. Up until a month or two ago, the only nexus adverts were in major towns and cities. If you asked a core of average phone users to name a Samsung device, I reckon 90% would name the SII, it all comes down to marketing.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
Good, let it keep going down because i will soon pick one up and i am 100% i will not pay anywhere close to $500
The main selling point for the G-Nexus was ICS. now that the GS2 and other devices are getting it the price value dropped because it's main selling point is now nfc and a big screen that is no longer the biggest with the new htc phones coming out. I don't think the price drop is because it's not a good phone it just doesn't have anyone backing it for advertising so it gets the short end of the stick.
I'm happy, I bought the nexus because its a developers phone and got it for only $430. I know its awesome and that's all that matters
Let it keep dropping. I'll buy one for the wife to replace her sgs4g. Price drop only has a negative effect if you plan to re sell later on. And even down the road I would still keep it as a good back up device.

[Q] GNex or wait for GS3?

I'm on AT&T and wanting a new phone. The GNex is rumored to drop for AT&T any day now with Sprint getting it on 4/22. I've been planning on making that my next phone for a while now, was just waiting for AT&T get it. Then I started hearing these rumors about the GS3 being out as soon as the end of April, latest being end of May. Don't know how much weight that holds, but if it were true, should I wait it out and go for the GS3? Or just go with the GNex when it comes out?
S3 announcement is supposed to be may 5th in London (from memory, an event was announced a few days ago- its definitely early may though) so that's at least June before its in stores.

Some of the rumors I heard said that Samsung was going to try and emulate Apple's strategy and have the phone globally available immediately after the announcement. And that it's going to have 1.5GHz Exynos 4412 quad-core CPU (Samsung's Cortex A9) and 4.8" 1080p Super AMOLED Plus. Others said it's just going to be what the iPhone 4s was to the to iPhone 4 in relation to the S2. I don't know what to believe anymore.
Does anyone know when the GNex is actually going to release for AT&T?

Yeah, I guess that's my plan, too. Wait for the launch and see what it actually releases as and then make the decision.
The Galaxy Nexus is OFFICIALLY for sale on Google Play either thru the app or online for GSM customers, i.e. Tmo and ATT The 16gb version. No biggie
I was excited and still like the phone, although from Day one when I got my Tmo Galaxy S2 (which I love) some bloggers, I forget said that the hardware on the GS2 I have is better than the Nexus
Prolly true so I have to decide do I want pure Google NOW and also ICS NOW OR Wait for ICS to come to the GS2 I have OR wait for the next GS3?
Idk. between the current Tmo GS2 and the Nexus, is it worth it spending an hour or less coming up with an ebay ad to sell, then order it??

Probably less. But if you are anal or want it perfect, yes.
In any case, longer than it took you to make that donkey of a comment.
I know many a senior member here who would not post that
And from one member to another, and one human to another, if you dont have anything positive to ad, dont say it
You need to either lookup or learn to incorporate paradigm into life and your help here. How do you know one isn't on disability, maybe can't create an ad that quickly maybe due to physical ailments, or psych ones like add or simply can't concentrate. Like me
But I wont say all that. I will just ignore my thoughts, you do also, and let me thank you for your help!!!
Didn't mean any offense by that man...I was just legit asking out of concern. Lighten up a bit...
Anyway if you're trying to decide between a sgii or a galaxy nexus. Everyone here is going to tell you to go nexus route mostly because of the great developer support it carries and the priority it gets when it comes to google updates.

Thank You. Gave you thanks
So iyho, if it is no problem to sell the GS2 I already have to get the newly available GSM from Google, then go ahead and do it even if the newest Galaxy will be out 3-6 months from now. (keeping in mind that I don't mind getting a new phone soon after) In other words, the perks of pure google and ICS are worth it--better sooner than later.
Thanks again

I haven't personally used one yet, but the general reviews all say the same thing: fantastic looking, powerful phone. Unfortunately battery life is mediocre and Sense 4.0 is a little wonky.
Personally I'd grab a GNexus or wait for the next Galaxy phone. The Nexus is plenty powerful, VERY simple to mod, and you can expand the battery with almost zero additional size to the phone.
Lately Samsung hardware is the hardware to beat. They're on a serious roll with their mobile devices.
May is only several days away. I'd wait for the Galaxy announcement and release date. You can make your mind up then. I just think it would be silly to buy a One X or a GNexus before seeing what is happening with the GSIII. Waiting a month for what could be a killer phone is worth it considering how many years you'll likely be using whatever you buy.
Personally I decided to pick up a galaxy nexus last week and have been absolutely thrilled. This is my first nexus device and I can't believe how nice stock Android is. Hardware wise, it doesn't get much better than the gnex and probably won't for a while. Quad cores are cool, but do they matter? The gnex does everything and you'll never have to worry about waiting for updates to the newest version of Android. Even the nexus one which is 2 years old runs 4.0.4 without issue, whereas much newer phones like the RAZR are stuck on gingerbread. I think the hardware is good enough at this point that the software is really what limits you. Just my $0.02.

IMO Gnex for sure or wait on the next Nexus! Nexus phones always will have better developer support due to the nature and openness of the device and ASOP. For me at least that is the deciding factor.
It depends on how much you are ready to spend. Right now, the G Nex is $440.
When the Galaxy S III comes out, it will be about 700$. You will have to wait a while for the price to come down, and by then we'll have the next Nexus device.
Moreover, having the G Nex means you will have the next Android version sooner than Galaxy S III.
But if raw hardware power is what you are looking for and money isn't much of a concern, Galaxy S III is the device for you.
The gnex is actually now $400 straight from Google For what you're getting, I think that's a steal.

Sounds like the S3 is going to be pretty BA.
GNex is at the top of my list. I still want to wait and see what the GS3 has to offer, though.

Rezound, Inc 4g LTE, or wait?

Just curious what everyone things i should retire my Inc for?
So far i'm thinking the Inc 4g, Slightly slower CPU, but higher IPC and LTE on chip are big selling points. Unless there is a Rezound 2 coming out this winter.
What do you guys think?
I'd go for the Galaxy S III, myself. It has all the specs you'll need (Snapdragon S4, LTE, HD screen) and looks like it'll be awesome for rooting and ROM-ing. When my upgrade rolls around, I'm going with the S3. HTC makes great phones, but the S# looks to be the best on Verizon (at least when it drops).
If it wasn't for the amazing camera and HTC people app, i would jump off of HTC, however, i keep all my company contacts in gmail, and personal synced to my phone with HTC sync, And stock android's contact app doesn't let me turn off just one gmail (at lest as for 2.5) If i recall correctly it doesn't play well with Facebook contacts. So id have multiple.
I know, i'm picky
Dinc 4g or sgs3 should be everyone on the og Dinc's predicament at the moment...
Dinc 4g will have a lower res/smaller screen, underclocked s4, and maybe even a smaller dev community because all the delays in getting to the consumer.
Sgs3 will have a bigger screen, full 1.5 dual core s4, and 2gb of ram compared to dinc 4g's 1 gb.
But right now it seems that the most important thing to those with multiple smartphones on their plan is to upgrade before June 28th, which is when the shared plans are going to kick in.

Honestly, I'm waiting for the next Nexus phone, but a Rezound 2 doesn't sound too bad....then again I'm upgrading in January 2013 got my Dinc at Walmart for $40 its still great and powerful I'm really not to interested in retiring it soon.

At this point wait. Of course that's what I'm doing so of course I feel that way.
I WAS going to get a SGS3 (especially after the tear down showed the iPhone 4s camera in it)... but when I picked one up in my hand.. it felt huge. I like to swype with one hand.. and.. I have big hands and my thumb felt stretched.
When I did the math on how much extra buying outright costs ($370... a new phone has a $200 price PLUS the $30 upgrade fee.. while outright is $600... so only $370 more) Over the course of a 2 year contract... its better to just buy the phone outright and keep your unlimited data.
Seeing how they are rolling out Quad Core with LTE in Korea.. where we haven't seen that yet.. they already passed that hurdle.. I'd wait till we see it here... (and forgetting that it's apple and iphone... they are supposedly doing it as well: http://www.appleinsider.com/article...e_rumored_to_feature_quad_core_processor.html )
You already passed the point of renewing with unlimited... waiting a bit longer won't kill you.
SGIII now, 4G LTE if the price drops

I would have considered the 4G LTE except that (1) it came out too late to lock in 2 more years of unlimited data and (2) it is overpriced for what you get.
So I locked in my SGIII back in June.
It arrives Monday.
However, if you don't want to pay big bucks I would wait a month or two to see if the DInc 4G LTE goes on sale on Amazon, Wirefly, Radio Shack or even Big Red itself. My target price would be $99.
test
I'm gonna test out the dinc 4 and SG3 before I make a decision. My upgrades not ready til Aug so it'll give me plenty of time to figure out which one feels nicest and behaves better. But I'm leaning towards the SG3 due the record of Samsung vs HTC.
I do like the size of the new incredible.. but the chip is a slightly slower one.. but the biggie is that the screen on it is fairly low quality compared to all the new ones out there.
also the sgs3 has the same camera as the iPhone 4s... which is currently the best on the market for a cell phone camera.
galaxy s III looks like a good phone. The more articles I read on it the more I want to get it.My hands are huge so a bigger phone would be great compared to the incredible 4g

I have the Rezound, coming from the Inc in December, and I love it but I just ran a ROM from the latest Inc and Sense 4 blends so much better with ICS then Sense 3.6 does (I'm on the latest ICS Leak). I would definitely get that Inc...There will ALWAYS be something bigger and better a few months off...

I would wait... I was a hardcore droid for 3 years then I got a iPhone 4 and my opinion iOS 6 beta is more stable. iPhone 5 or galaxy S3 since by courts it's copied a lot of apples patents. Lol Samsung has to give apple 8%+ of the sales of this phone. Sucks with updating your phone that we lose unlimited data unless you buy at retail price without contract.

Hahahah that's was a good joke
I would hold off for now. There's supposed to be a quad core 1080p 5in HTC beast for Verizon later this year

Wouldn't the Galaxy Nexus 2 be made by Samsung not HTC?
I feel like phones are in a transitional phase right now. Nothing coming out in the near future is going to be a game changer. I'm going to wait until the quad S4 with the A15 equivalent comes out. Although, right now I'm completely happy with my Dinc running Jellybean, so I'm in no hurry.
Razor m might be a good choice
Galaxy Note 2
The Galaxy Note 2 is rumored to be coming to all four US carriers, so that would be an option as well.

Samsung Galaxy S III: Worth the upgrade or not?

Debating on should I get the new GSIII or keep my Epic Touch? I feel only ppl who have upgraded to the phone, or having spent a substantial amount of time with the phone should answer.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Why do you want bias opinions? People who have chosen to upgrade to the new device did so because they felt it worth it. A minority of this group will regret that decision.
I have not upgrade to it so please feel free to ignore my opinion. If you feel limited on CPU power then go ahead and make the upgrade. The extra ram and processing power should help you a lot. Though I wonder what your doing with your device that is using so much power. Gaming is more GPU dependent and in that area the SGSIII isn't a upgrade.
If the screen size and higher res isn't enough to draw you in then I would skip it. A overall better upgrade phone will probably be released within 6 months and you'll be glad you waited.
Had Samsung choose to upgrade the GPU on the same level as the CPU I would have been all over this device. But as things stand I'm going to sit this one out.
For me the decision came down to the fact that I have 4g WiMAX in south Florida and there is no 4g lte down here yet.
So going to the s3 would mean going back to 3G speeds.
I am waiting until lte arrives
I agree with both Silent and news opinions here 100%.
But also want to add that I'm sitting this upgrade out aswell. The GS3 is a really nice device but...
1. No quadcore, not saying the Qualcome chip is a slouch and the extra ram will help make up for that but... With a little love and tweaking the GS2 can perform just as good.
2. And the ICS roms that are available for the GS2 are most likely going to be a lot better than anything Sammy or Sprint will ever give us.
3. The GS2 is more than able to handle a 4.1 rom... Just have to give the devs a bit more time to get it ported and tweaked.
And last of all... I just don't trust Sprint anymore. Sure their the cheapest, sure they have unlimited data and ya LTE is coming(???) But their services now are nothing like they use to be and they are no longer the only carries carrying the top tear devices.
I've had the opportunity to play around with a friends GS3 for an hour or so yesterday, help him set it up and all. And after getting it all setup and running... Neither of us were overly impressed with it. His Gnex running 4.1 out performs it all day long.

I have both the epic touch and be nexus.
In my opinion it is worth the upgrade..
But that's because I don't have wimax. Coverage nor lte.
Also because it will most likely get more upgrades over the air since they are mostly identical to the other carriers as well as newer hardware.
On another note that s4 krait sounds delicious with that 2gb of ram..
Just my 2 cents

As previously said the screen is pretty much the biggest difference, I was playing with one yesterday... I decided to wait until winter for the next nexus... hopefully quad core and 800mhz lte... plus at that point sprint will have actually, you know, turned on the lte

I have the S2, got my wife the S3 replacing her Evo3D. Been messing with it for almost a week. My wife offered to give me her S3 and get the S2 (since I always talk about tech this and that). My wife loves it. It's nice and crisp. Upgrading from anything besides S2, I would say yes, upgrade for sure.
IMO, there are few things to consider.
1) The sooner you upgrade, the sooner you'll be eligible for the next upgrade.
2) Next better bad-er android release will most likely follow around Oct, Nov.
3) Anything but Nexus, upgrade is delayed (even leaks don't show up for months)
4) NFC S3
Personally, I'm waiting for a Nexus phone with a good /better camera. Amazon releasing phone sounds interesting (hoping it's not locked down like fire. Asus phone?).
Long story short, if you upgrade you won't regret it. If you hold back you'll most likely see something better in 4-6 months.
So I told my wife since she loves it much to keep it, I'll get the next best thing in 6 months, until then I'm still having fun flashing lol.

It will be a free phone or $200 on craigslist before 99% of us have lte, might as well wait until then.
