I recommend you to upgrade to a higher version, 2.3.x or CM7 but before try a full wipe/factory reset.
This can be a bug from Froyo.

I am running stock 2.3.6 and have 65+ apps installed with still 110+ MB free on internal memory.
You should use link2sd. You don't need a custom ROM for that.

You are right. But first he needs to upgrade the firmware to get better performance and less bugs.
Now he is on Froyo.

Yesterday I downloaded Jelly Bean for the P85 (A8R1) this is a Teclast Rom V4.1.1.The link for this rom was found on an Asian site.I had a lot of trouble downloading from the link ..
I installed the rom on my Tablet had to change the language to english (no biggie) Australian English
The rom has to be install with LiveSuit.
I have rooted the rom with SuperOneClickv2.3.3-ShortFuse Modded this would not root ICS but works great with JB
Also included with the download is a patch to install ApexLuncher & DSPManager more too..I have not used the patch myself like it the way it is...
And every thing works Very Well. The file is over 400mb The file has everything you need to install the Rom inside..
Thanks go to Tham Khao and Vhtuananh For this Rom..

Try to factory reset, if that doesn't work, download the original firmware (ics or gb) and flash that, see if it fixes the problem. Also, there is an 'unroot' option in the rooting app, if you think rooting your device caused the problem, you can try that.

minhduycr1 I have just check my rooted tablet and you are right about not being able to see the tablet in Windows Explorer.Sorry I had not checked this as I do not use the Tablet much at all..The way to fix this is run unroot then reboot the tablet and all will be good again. My tablet was running Great before I unrooted it just could not see the the tablet in explorer.
Will have a look for a better rooting program that does not cause this to happen...
benjamingdelacruz Thanks for helping out :good:
I have just found the problem with root for this rom I uploaded the wrong root file.. Sorry
Just uninstall the old root file and install this one P85 (A8R1)
If anyone would like to download the right Root file this is the link = Http://Goo.Gl/KGLH9
Everything works fine now...
Small issue with the brightness, when you get to the lower levels it doesn't adjust correctly, it jumps from very dark to bright not proportionate to how much you adjust the brightness. This is problematic for me because I need fine control over low brightness levels because I do a lot of reading. So I think I'll have to switch back to ics or gb. Other than that it works well though.
Thank you very much for sharing this and providing a download! Without you I would never had found this ROM and still stick with ICS. It runs VERY smooth on my Single Core P85.
So thanks again!
I had to unroot first and then reroot with the updated SuperOneClick. That's got me up and running again. Nice n'nippy too.
I have a problem with this ROM. I have read-only access to both extsd and usbhost. I tried everything to fix this but I didn't find a solution. E. g. Titanium Backup or Battery Monitor Widget can't write on external sd card. Anyone else having these issues or maybe a solution?
Thanks in advance.

Frank I don,t any trouble with the SD card reading or writing to it...
Have you used the right rooting program their a new link to the file..
If anyone would like to download the right Root file this is the link = Http://Goo.Gl/KGLH9
All I have done is installed the patch file just for a few goodies..
And used ZhuoDaShi-2.2.15 to remove all the installed Asia Apps after I installed the rom..
Sorry I can't help you anymore than this...
I tried SuperOneClick (at first the wrong one, then after reinstalling the ROM the correct one). I also tried with ZhuoDaShi - always the same. I tried both with the patch and without. Do you use Titanium Backup, ES File Explorer or Solid Explorer? In settings "memory" everything is listed as internal memory. On ICS this was different - external sd and usbhost were shown as external.
Furthermore there is a problem with CWM. It works with every ROM I've ever tested except for this JB ROM. "data" can't be mounted so CWM is useless. And I bricked the tablet when I tried to reboot from CWM. It's repaired now but the problem with sd card now let me revert to CM9 where everything works fine again.
Maybe I get CM 10 work using the files/drivers of the original JB ROM.
Maybe you've got any more ideas?
Sent from my JB-powered Wonder
I had a go at this yesterday and found the same as you Frank.Installed two versions on CWM both ended with a black screen on reboot. And had to reinstall the rom both times.I cannot believe that you can install CWM boot to the screen and after rebooting It dies sad. Also the EXTSD whats the go their you can play music videos and the like with player from the OS copy paste to the EXTSD but it is not showing up on the storage screen and the OS won't use it weird.I find this a damn shame as I like this version it is best one to me anyway..

Root access
First of all, thank you for the JB rom, works like a charm on my P85 single core. I just have one problem, can't seem to get root access using Superoneclick. Put my tpad in usb debugging mode, made sure the drivers are installed, and press root button. But when it's finished I check for root access using several apps from market, and they say I don't have root access. Tried a couple of root uninstallers also, and no one can remove the chinese apps. Anyone have a clue what I'm doing wrong?
Sorry been away..
Frank here is the link it is in Vietnamese just translate.. http://www.tinhte.vn/threads/1143378
No mate I have not tried any of the CM10 or the AOKP..But to install them make sure you use 4.0.4-v1.0 or 4.0.3-v1.04 something you can install CWM on first...
Sparta76
The only thing I can think of is have you used the right root file here is a link to the right one...I had no trouble rooting 4.11 with this file..
http://www.mediafire.com/?3mhbwr1yyhdx1cy
The only root uninstaller you need is the one you used to install root in the first place..
To remove the Asian program's Apps you don't want is ZhuoDaShi-2.2.17-setup.exe .But remember this program is all Asian (no English)
here is one link to download = http://www.ulozto.net/xnAgHts
Install the program run it and wait for the Tablet to be found then click on the Briefcase with the cross on it will show you all the programs on the tablet just tick on the ones you don't want then click on the circle with the cross in the middle to remove the apps...
Good Luck
Thank you very much for the link. Currently I'm using CM10. Still testing. Everything except for the camera works.
Are you Vietnamese or how did you find the site?

So, guys, is there a way to run both JB and CWM on this device? Frank?
Maybe there us a way with a different (modded) CWM version. I don't know. I'm on CM10 from the above linked vietnamesian site. Atm it works quite well. Still testing it. It is based on JB 4.1.2 and a working CWM is included. You need a working CWM before flashing, though. E.g. Original ICS ROM.

Hello everyone!
I modified Google Apps for ICS/JB because of the limited storage in the system.
All you have to do is install it in recovery.
DOWNLOAD
Mini Google Apps ICS
Mini Google Apps JB
Make sure that you've done a backup before flashing.
If you got a bootloop maybe you need to delete some apps on your ROM directory: /system/app
Changelog:
20/11/2012
-The links have been changed to dropbox because of problems with mediafire
-Have been removed some apps and libs in Google Apps JB
If you want you can remove Google Talk from /system/app
Enjoy
My work:
-Mini Google Apps for ICS/JB
-Mini Trebuchet for CM9.1/CM10
If I helped you and you like my work push thank's buttom

its wrong. thats it^^
Gingerbread just indicates the version number (or the version name). He would be "righter" with: you dont need gapps on Stock (-GB) rom.
The main purpose of this mini packages are the totally overkill CM9+ / Android 4+ versions. Android above 2.3.x was never meant to run on our low hardware device eventhough its possible as you see. But the gapps sometimes are too big for /system (gapps + "normal" android).
tl:dr version: You dont really need this mini versions on GB. you can, but dont need to use them. In android 4.x you sometimes HAVE TO use them, otherwise they wont fit in /system (due to insufficient space)

Oh, so, correct me if I'm wrong but what I understand with your explanation is that if I'm in GB (say CM7.2) I have to use only the apps that comes with the ROM?
I'm asking this because I flashed CM7.2 yesterday and it didn't come with the google play and I was getting trouble trying to log my google account up avoiding me to install titanium backup to get all my apps again. I don't know if this is a ROM problem or a particular one, but everything went right once I've flashed the "gapps-gb-20120317-237-signed", but of course this also consumed a good 30 or 40mb from the system so that's why I'm trying to find a better way to solve this issue of "limited storage".

In CM7.2 you need some kind of gapps, because google prohibited usage of build-in gapps.
and your last line is exactly what those mini packages are about. in GB you have enough space for normal packages. in CM9+ you (mostly) do not have that space.
so
CM72: Gapps/mini-apps => both work
CM9+: Gapps => not enough space / mini-apps => only working solution (in most occasions)
this resumee also has its flaws, but i hope i could make the point of those packages a bit clearer for you.
The size of Google Apps GB is around 6 mb, don't you have free system storage?

I downloaded n flashed it on my Grand immediately after opening this thread.
No problem happened but u should reset factory default after flashed it to have pure stock rom
This rom booted up wit Brazil (Portuguese) language and u can easy change it to English
Also it included many TIM's and other bundled application, u should remove all by using Clean Master or Titanium BU
GUI is slightly different to 4.1.2, especially Setting, and i like this GUI more than 4.1.2
(However no more Development in Setting)
Unfortunately, i'm now facing to a small problem after installing Philz CWM & rooting this device & deleting unwanted applications : whenever the phone reboot, language automatically turns back to Brazil ) Don't know how to solve this ^_^
I confirm this Brazil ROM can update with THW version (through Odin)
Other issues: in stock 4.2.2, SSG is hotter than 4.1.2 though it's smoother. After changing launcher to Nova, temperature seems become better

The language change issue is due to the new update of SuperSU, ver 1.69. Just uninstall the update reboot and it should fix the problem. I am back to ver 1.25 that came the root zip. You can probably find ver 1.65 somewhere. But, the old version works for me. Chainfire said on his Google + that he is aware of the problem and will fix it on the next update.
Thanks to k2wl & hunter0389, confirm the language problem solved by changing to older SuperSU ( I used 1.34)
Btw, do you use Motion : go on top by tapping 2 times on top of your Samsung phone in Setting> My Device> Motion & Gesture > Motion. I didn't see this motion in new 4.2.2 ( I used to use this motion in 4.1.2)
I also feel the Smart Stay doesn't work "Smart" as 4.1.2 ^_^
Motion : go on top

Motion only works on Contact. It is pretty useless in my opinion. 4.2.2 does not have it. Smart Stay has never really worked well on 4.1.2 or 4.2.2 for me. So, i turned it off.

To me it is faster than KitKat (on my Sony T2) but I think it consume bigger space than KitKat.
Now I need to delete some apps since I only have 600 mb space left.
Lollipop has been working great on my T2. Perhaps a factory reset could fix problems.

Nope, Lolli just doing fine on my t2udual.
Just do clean install, factory reset, wipe all.
Then root, do partition ur xtrnal sd, then use link2sd apps to link the apps on internal to external(and little bit of vram)
Now, its much much much better... No Lag, have tons of apps, and very big space of internal storage (its around 3gb free internal memory)

i'm very sad to use the latest update ( Lollipop )
the update have a some bugs issue
slow, lag, multitasking is very bad
i go back to downgrade and use KitKat
we hope to fix all bugs if Sony want to put a new version from Lollipop .[/QUOTE
Hope this will fix your issue.
I was also experiencing the same issue on my D5303 T2 Ultra. Very fast outside apps, but become very slow inside apps.
I've tried fresh firmware install, and didn't work, still slow.
What I did which apparently fix this issue is as follows :
1. Fresh install firmware using PCC repair mode
2. Install all off my apps... And then my device becoming very slow
3. Root using new Kingroot ver 4.1
4. Enable system purification in Kingroot
5. Change cpu governor from on demand to interactive using 3c toolbox or other app
6. Reboot to ensure
That's all, and in my case it fix the issue.
Try it, hope will fix yours.

If your device is slowing down and you rooted with kingroot that's probably your problem more than Anything else not the rom itself
D2303 5.1 customised NCB LB t2u nut dual recovery rooted de-bloated bravia engine 2+x-reality
Working fine for me 5.1.1 Maybe just you.
Hey forum!
I'm looking for the best combination of some key functionality:
Stability
Camera (activate/snap with button as on stock ROM), is this possible out of stock ROM at all?
BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) support but I guess that it is supported in newer ROM versions? Hardware should support it.
Most amount of memory/space available for apps, more than stock ROM possible?
Has to be Android 4.3 at least
Any suggestions of a good ROM which fulfills the above?
TIA!
If u want stability + camera + memory for apps and games then u need a ROM that is naosp 6.0 by mickybart's
but u need to reparation your device memory table to use this ROM

Sounds great!
I have a couple of follow-up questions that I hope someone can answer quite quickly:
1. Should I choose version 5 or 6 (I just want the functions I listed and speed and stability are important)?
2. I understand that I need to re-partition the phone but does that apply to version 5 as well?
3. Is there a *complete* guide if you're on stock ROM and have done zilch/zero/nothing yet to the phone?
Thanks!

1. Choose version 6, it has more updates.
2. Nope, it doesn't apply to version 5.
3. You wouldn't find a complete guide in one place, but I can give You pointers here which will lead You to correct searches.
Rooting : use towelroot app. Not available on playstore, search for "towelroot by geohot". It will root Your phone.
Backup TA partition: backup Your TA partition using tool here.
Unlock bootloader : Link.
Then try following the guide from respective ROM thread to flash the ROM!
I am also in the exact same situation, before I start though I was wondering if there is a way to "easily" back up and restore sms messages & whatsapp messages (along with pictures, though I can copy all the pictures easily on the PC and restore them - but I am unsure if this places them back in the correct order etc) - the rest should be easy to backup and restore just not sure about these 2
thanks in advance
p.s. @verma.arun833 & @Mirhawk
as per the original post I am looking for the most STABLE rom out there to date that is android V4.3.1 or higher - I am also a complete noob too and the easier the better but priority is stability - is naosp 6.0 the best choice here still?
Yup naosp 6.0.1 is best and stable at the moment and updated tooo bro try that ?

You can backup Your sms using this app, I use it and it is the best so far. For WhatsApp, backup using the in app backup and copy the WhatsApp folder from internal storage of phone to PC. Then after flashing the new ROM, copy the WhatsApp folder back to internal storage, install WhatsApp and it will automatically restore it.
And yes, nAOSP 6.0 is still the preferred ROM as it is stable as of now and is receiving constant update. If You want extremely stable but above 4.3.1 ROM, then I would suggest last updated version of Carbon ROM(4.4.4). It is of KitKat version, but has many features and doesn't require re-partitioning of device.
