Hello,
I'm using the latest stable DK-Mod Rom and since the last 2 versions of this CustomRom Slideit doesn't work anymore.
It doesn't even start. First it began that it couln't use Swype-mode and only simple type mode.
Does anyone have the same issue?
I would like to know if it's dependant from the rom or maybe the device itself can't handle the latest SlideIT-version.

did you have to do anything special? are you on the stock rom?
I have it installed but when I try to "swype" a word it doesn't do anything except draw the blue line. I'm either missing a crucial step or for whatever reason it's not installed correctly.
similar problem with graffiti
Hey,
I tried installing Graffiti and had trouble getting the A7 to recognize complete character strokes. A 'G' would come up as a 'C' and so forth. You can see the partial stroke in the graffiti entry area, but the complete stroke doesn't register.
Seems like the A7 has problem with all touchscreen features... not just "True" multi-touch.
Using Dexter's 1.0c
I using the stock rom with the elocity 12/24 update. I didn't use dexter mod for market.
I guess I was the first few who got the A7 when they started shipping. Swkye work fine for me, even with the drawing.
I can confirm 2.10.52.13753 works. I had 2.15 but it wasn't working, so after I read this thread I picked up 2.10.52.13753 and now I'm swyping away... this makes this device much much MUCH more viable for me. Thank you!
are you guys sideloading the apks or are you installing through the swype installer?
Sideloading. Google for that version #.
THANK YOU ALL! eLocity A7 now running Swype keyboard!
Using: elocity A7 w/ Dexter Mod
rogconnect & eskaryo, thank you so much
I just installed 2.10.52.13753 and it works! i tried using the newest version downloaded directly from swype and first it wouldnt recognize my A7 as an android device. I than used my tmobile g2 to download the install apk directly from swype and copied it over to the a7. It installed fined and looked like everything was about to work at first however every time i would try and type by swyping it would trace out the word but nothing would happen. no text was being placed into the text box. It did however type if i just tap the letters like on the default keyboard... i thought it to be strange.... Anyway i download the 2.10.52.13753 version and its PERFECT! Thank you again!
For anyone who is interested in version 10.52.13753 of swype i recomend reading this (figure it out...):

i used the Swype 2.10.52.13753 WVGA.apk and works perfectly!

Thank you so much! I've had such a headache trying to get Swype to work for me! Lots of downloading, installing and uninstalling with various beta versions. This was what i needed to finally make it work. I wonder why Swype can't just post this as another option on their Android beta site? I'm sure that Elocity isn't the only device having this issue.

You are correct, this is not the only Tablet that swype is not working on. I also picked up a Viewsonic Gtab 10" a few weeks ago and had similar issues getting swype to work on it. I ended up having to edit the build prop file for my device fior it to be recognized as a Samsung galaxy tablet inorder for swype to install. Again thanks to the help of the many developers and hackers in the xda community i managed to figure it out and get it working. Thank you to everyone who posts on here and replies to questions. Without the xda forum and its members i would never be able to figure this out.
Ya thanks to everyone who was involved,it got me up and running.
I downloaded and installed swype but when i load it and try to swype it tells me that the app is expired. Any suggestions?
2.29 beta no go
Just tried 2.10 and got the same expired message. I downloaded a new apk of 2.29 beta and it is not working on the A7.
Hey all,
I am using a new rom, its ICS 4.0.4 and is made by Markphyton (you can find it at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1790615). Im getting the same level of smoothness (and laglessness ) without over clocking on this ICS ROM as I do on some GB roms when overclocked!! Its literally epic!
Now, this ROM is amazing, I literally cannot find any faults with it bar two. Oh, and WiFI hotspot doesn't work, but seriously, who uses that anyway?
First fault which is kind of redundant; some apps wont restore properly using Titanium Backup Pro, some will (I've only had errors with my PS Store games though but other users are reporting the same issue), which brings me to my next point, I can't get into the ps store . It gives error code 8008103E, which apparently a build.prop edit will fix.
The fix doesn't work (changing the id etc. to r800i); I've even tried pushing the build.prop from Official beta - doesn't work either - It doesn't give me the error code as quickly but still, it's the same at the end, no access, no games.
Is there anyone that has an answer to why it isn't possible or a solution to make it possible?
Update: There may be a fix on the horizon, Markphyton is working on V6 of his ROM now and has obtained the latest f/w for Xperia S (ICS).. However, all input is still welcome so the question still stands..
Can anyone shed some light?
Nobody has any idea?
The same thing happens on his Stock ICS 4.0.4 V2 (with patch 2 installed) using the latest PSM and pspocket apps
I read about an omnirom available for our captivate glides running 4.4.2
Anyone tried running this yet? How stable is it?
I found the link here: http://true-android.blogspot.ca/2014/03/update-samsung-captivate-glide-sgh-i927.html
I also dont know, for any rom that has separate gapps, when would you flash those? After or before the new rom? at the same time? Like, if after a ROM flash it automatically reboots, it will boot up with no gapps and likely not run - correct?
Was just curious about how buggy it is. Even if down the road when things are smoother, im excited to see if i can get this one running!

you can find more information here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541182
Gapps is included. You must install rom zip first, because it formats system partition.
Official gapps doesnt compatible with our phone, I think its better not installing.
hmm..

I am using omni ROM . . somehow I find it less buggy than cm 11
Nevertheless I would wanna give my thanks and even though I am pointing out bugs . . I really do appreciate his work .. A lot
Omnirom is very very stable has all if not most of the theming features except for trebuchet launcher
//It is a bit more battery consuming but I like it cause I am able to run my processor at 1.4ghz which is sweeeet!!!
//It has issues with OK Google functionality the audio is lagged and irritating
//The Google experience launcher is not built for it
//It has issues with Google maps 7 but there is a fix to have 6th version to back you up when needed
//it has issues with Skype and the fix is work in progress I guess..
//GPs is a bit slow but works
//WiFi direct crashes for me
Once in a blue moon the phone might rebot itself cause of a crash..
Though considering WiFi tethering , 3g switching, link2sd ,memory swapping
Ksm everything is working really try it . . its an amazing experience from an amazing phone
Can someone tell me the difference between wifi direct, wifi sharing, and wifi sharing manager??
Wifi itself is working in 4.4.2 right?
Also, were your keyboard backlights working automatically or did you ened qwerty led?
is qwerty led something that needs to be running all the time. or "ongoing" in the top drawer?
Wi-fi direct is a type of communication between two devices, similar to Bluetooth, so you can send files. I never used this, even when transfering big files from one phone to another, it's better to use an USB OTG cable - the connection speed is lightning fast!
Don't know what you mean about wi-fi sharing. Maybe wi-fi tethering (hotspot) - it's when you share your phone 2G/3G internet connection via wi-fi. This thing is working fine. Wi-fi itself is working, of course.
As for keyboard light: when tested OmniROM, I used liblight solution, but the qwertyled using is simple too: just launch it and you're done. While the service is running, keyboard light will work.
Now I'm on CM 11, and I have 11 days of uptime already, I recommend this ROM (but that's just my taste). In CM 11 keyboard backlights are working from the box, no need for qwertyled.
Also, I looked at the link you posted, to the true-android blog. Please, don't use the guide one can found there, it's awful. You can't install 4.4.2 ROM with recommended 2.6.3.0 TWRP, the correct one is 2.6.3.1 from bubor here, and you don't need any gapps beside included in the ROM.
Better use this guide from stormdude124: [UPDATED][2014][How-to]Everything you need to know and do to your Captivate Glide, it's updated, it's verified and there's no ads!

Can you use a cyanogen mod rom with clockworkmod recovery installed? i remember trying cyanogenmod with my phone and couldnt get it to work.
Just flash TWRP 2.6.3.1 from link above, it's superior to clockworkmod recovery (CWM) in all ways: touch interface, working backups with compression, charging support and it allows to install KitKat roms. With CWM you can install ROMs up to android 4.3, so, you still can install CM 10.1.3 or CM 10.2 with CWM, but not CM 11.
about wifi direct and sharing...

Hey yeah the difference btw wifi direct and sharing is that in wifi direct you connect two devices directly to transfer files...
in wifi sharing you need to host a web adress to share your files
as a result in wifi sharing you host a list of your stuff on a web adress(local) which gets downloaded by other devices on your wifi connection
and a wifi sharing manager can either do this (host ur files using an ip) or my personal favorite is astro which can acess my pc's sharing folder over wifi which is preety awesome>..unlimited storage
also note that in a wifi sharing manager you cannot recieve files easily . . maybe airdroid but it can only run on a pc
wifi sharing apps are airdroid and other file managers like root browser
wifi direct requires specific drivers and libs... i guess.. hence not all devices can do it ..
anyway you should go for cm 11 or omni both are incredibly stable with an occasional hiccup.. which is occasional heh
also would suggest that if you do proceed to install please follow from the developer sources on xda rather than some blog etc
Hi all,
I have a Find 7 QHD on Paranoid Android 4.6 BETA 4.
Got an OTA update this morning (BETA 5), installed it and I just get get black screen on boot that goes no further.
I also restored a previous backup and manually updated to latest beta with same results.
Has anyone with Find 7 had any luck with the latest PA 4.6 BETA 5? Wondering if it's something with my setup or the update itself.
Thanks in advance.
Same issue, tried from Beta 4 upgrade and clean install but both won't boot.
I can confirm that the latest update breaks PA completely (for me, anyway). Guess I'll just have to wait for the next big update.
Same thing happened to me...7a here
That sux, but I'm glad it's not just me.
Have seen many reports of this, guess I'm staying on BETA 4.
Hey, just giving a quick update to all o' y'all: The newest PA beta build boots without a hitch! I know that it's been out for some time now, but I just tried it and I seemed to have very few problems other than the processor refusing to go into its low power state (which also happens with Cyanogenmod for me, so I'm not sure what's going on there).
Anyway, happy flashing as always!
As a last resort I've come to this forum hoping to get some answers about this issue. When using any Android 10 or lower version I cannot seem to download my purchased apps from the Play Store. It doesn't necessarily seem to be the rom I choose at fault either however on Android 11 roms things work as expected and I'm able to install my apps. My only option for Android 10 is Stock OOS. But can anybody explain my issue here? And if so how to fix it.
Thanks in advance.
