Light Flow App - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi, I purchased a paid version of light flow app, I am experiencing issues when I enable it, even the Talkback feature is off, the GN still recognizes that it is on especially when I am browsing the web. Currently running android revolution HD rom.
Anyone else experienced it? tia

What kind of issues?
It's working good for me on stock rom.

It forces the TalkBack accessibility feature of the GN. Even you check it on the settings, it is turned off but still functions especially when typing on the browser and every keypress you click on the keyboard.

Doesn't do that for me. Have the free version.

Thanks for your inputs! I remember the free version has no issue with mine before. But then again I am still researching if there are any other users having the same issue as mine.

I've found this on the developers homepage:
Some users have issues where the TalkBack accessibility service gets enabled when the Light Flow accessibility service is switched on. This seems to be a bug in Ice Cream Sandwich and we've raised an issue for it. Add a star to it here: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=23105 as a temporary workaround, go into your phone "settings" --> Accessibility --> Install web scripts --> and make sure it's set to "Not allowed"

[Q] How do you shut off the voice in the browser?

Hi All,
Just got my new toy and like it so far but.... When I am using the browser, it is talking to me and tells me pretty much EVERYTHING that is on the page. For example... When I go to Google it talks to me and says "Google"...
I cant for the life of me figure out how or where I shut this off. I have looked in settings in the speech and voice area and I cant see anything.
Please can someone tell me where to turn this off?
Go into accessibility and turn off talkback
I did but it still does it...
How about explore by touch? Is that off?
Yes...
Is there a setting in the Browser itself that I am missing?
Idk but you can go into the settings in the browser and restore defaults. And see if that fixes it

I dont think so... I will check but I really dont believe so. Maybe a hard reset / wipe may fix it? Could it be a glitch?

I wouldn't do that yet, try using your phone with the volume down for a day or two and see if someone else may have a solution
Btw are you on a custom rom?
Hmmmm... I wiped the device / hard reset and it seems to be gone (at least for now)... Lol... Thanks for your help. I wonder if it may have had something to do with the syncing of my device with google servers as I did not do that this time?
Anyways... Seems gone for now.

Yeah LightFlow gave me the same problem. I think it's an issue with the Accessability menu itself rather than lightflow though. I made a thread about it here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1441806

[Q] Browser reading

Hey XDA.
A couple of guys i know have a problem with their browser reading the text out loud in the adress bar, where the URL are.
The problem came after updating to 4.04, they haven't installed any new apps, neither did they use a dock.
Anyone else having this problem? Or a fix?
//reffer2
Sounds like you may have the "TalkBack" option turned on.
You can find this under: Settings > Accessibility (phone settings, not in your browser)
It is at the very top.
No. It's turned off
Try checking the accesability settings with the atachment featires being down right now i cant sopw you my settings but pm me and ill send a screenshot.
On the googlenexus channel at youtube theres a series of instructions on accesibility. Seems that when you start the device the first time and draw a rectangle on the screen it will activate the accesibility features for blind people.

Ps if you only have this in browser get chrome ^_^ since you are 4.0 you can get it

Hey.
We figured out the app "light flow" was causing the troubles.
After uninstalling it, everthing worked flawless. We tried reinstalling it, and it still works.
So something must have went wrong, but it is working now

GPS/Navigation issue

Hi everyone,
The issue I'm having with my GPS is that it will not say the street names when navigating. I called Samsung and they do not know why it's not working properly. They told me to call Google. I called Google and they told me to call my carrier. I called Rogers and they said it has nothing to do with them because it's a 3rd party app and it's a software issue. I'm getting nowhere with these people. I did a factory reset last night and I tested out the GPS and it was actually saying the street names. I used it today and it's back to "turn left, turn right, and so on. When I had the Nexus S, the GPS was working perfectly fine. I just bought the phone so I can exchange it for another one. But if someone can help me fix the issue here, that would be great.
My GN is from Rogers, running on 4.0.1. I do not want to root the phone.
Thanks.
No one else had or have this issue??
So this is less a GPS issue (it tracks your location fine, yes?) and more of an issue with the Navigation app? Is this the stock Android Navigation application or a third-party one?

It's not accurate in tracking my locations, but yes it does track it ok. It's more of a navigation issue. Yes it's the stock Android Navigation application that I'm having issues with. I never had this issue with any other Android I have owned.
Nexus S worked perfectly fine. I'm also using a Samsung S2 and it works perfectly fine. Worked fine with the other HTC's, Motorola's and SE's I had too.

Hmmm... have you tried a different Text-to-Speech engine? I'm partial to the IVONA TTS. I'm wondering if the shortfall is with the TTS engine you're using or with the Navigation app itself.
ICS has had gps bug updated you are on old dinosaur 4.0.1 ... the only thing i can suggest is update to 4.0.4 yakjuux (which your rogers phone is yakjuux). I know you dont want to root but ... how about just unlock bootloader flash stock 4.0.4 and relock bootloader and nobody will know the difference the toolkit can do all this for you with little effort ... thats all i can suggest to solve this issue

No I didn't try a different text to - speech engine. I actually liked the stock navigation. Got used to it.

My friend bought his GNex from Bell on the first day it was launched. He didn't have any issues with navigation and it was running on 4.0.1. Could it be an issue with the phone? The Navigation app does not show up in my "ALL" apps.

It won't show up under Settings --> Apps, as I believe it is just a component of the Maps package. Have you made sure that is up to date in the Play Store?

Actually, it looks like that may be the problem! http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=29811
Apparently, Going to Settings --> Apps --> All, selecting Maps and choosing to Uninstall Updates will fix this.

I've had problems similar to this happen to me, only twice in about three years. Anyway, the fix was uninstalling the app and reinstalling it. Then Google maps started working again as it should.

I hope Google fixes this issue soon. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

"Say Google" removed?

When launching google now, yesterday I could either type in the search, or click on the mic and start talking OR saying "Google" and the phone will automatically start hearing my search inquiry.
Today, it seems that "Say Google" is completely removed? I haven't done any updates, what's going on?
Anyone facing this problem or know how might I get the "say Google" back?
As far as I know, it only works if Google Now is open...
it doesn't work from the home screen or other places.
I know that it only works for US English. Ensure that you are in fact on US English for your language.
I understand that, the problem is, it's even removed from there! The settings is also removed !
Please guys check your phones to confirm.
PS: The language is English(US), check 2nd picture

A lot of people reported many problems with Google Now being fixed once you download the offline engine. You try that?
mine are also gone. i never tried pressing the voice button when starting google now but this time there is not even an option that instruct us to say google now anymore. on 4.1 it was there. 4.1.1 has none.
I still have the option to say "Google" and it works just fine.
Yep, me too. Still able to say Google on US English that is (it sucks how UK English lacks features).
Did you perhaps turn it off?? It's under settings in Google now.

I have the same issue as OP.
I'm running Android Revolution HD 5.0.1, but the same thing happened with AOSP JB. When I flashed it I could say 'Google' in Google Now but some time after getting the phone set up I lost that ability. I've also lost the 'Hot word' menu option in the Google Now->Voice settings.Everything is Default US English. And I have the offline engine downloaded and I can still tap the microphone icon to voice search.
Weird thing is: I was showing it off to a few friends in a restaurant last night and it was working again. Now this morning, it's gone again.

Not sure why... what region are you in??
I also read somewhere on here someone lost google now voice but it was because they changed a setting in accessibility... did you by chance??

It worked once for me.
I backed out, went to try again and it didn't work.

hi guys, im the OP. just want to say, the problem is solved.
I simply rebooted the phone and it magically reappeared. I didn't touch anything. This is very weird.
I think it has to do with the language selection right inside Google Now's settings under Voice.
If you tap on English it gives you the various types of English to choose from.
When I select "English Canada" the ability to say "Google" is missing.
However if I specifically select "English US" it reappears instantly.

I tried all English version available. No luck. Well of course, as a heavy flashers, I rebooted many times.

I just want to say that it's randomly getting removed after a while and I hard reboot will sometime bring it back. I have no reason why this is happening, if anyone has a clue, please share.
hey guys I just found out, after I reboot everything works fine, the "say google" is there, but lightflow doesn't work. However, after I went into accessibility and turn light flow off and on again (it was on) lightflow works again, but the "say google" disappears.
yea, check http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1778659
Light Flow is probably causing the problem

[Q] Stay Awake 'greyed' out

I've upgraded to official Jelly Bean.
I've noticed in Display settings and Developer options, that the 'Stay Awake' option (when connected to 'mains' supply) is greyed out. How do I set this option 'on'?
Thanks.

I've finally figured out the root cause of the problem - this is a new "security feature" with exchange accounts in JB. As soon as you accept the security protocol when creating an exchange account, Stay Awake becomes permanently disabled. I've heard mixed feedback on the email apk hack successfully working. So far there does not appear to be a workaround.

Use "Keep Awake for Debugging" from google play
If you are looking for this kind of solution for app development, then I have created an app for this purpose (Keep Awake for Debugging). It will keep your screen on **only** when you have ADB (over USB or wifi) debugging enabled.
