Hello XDA forum, I recently got an Xperia Play and wanted to use Yifan Lu's PSXperia, i have already used the tool several times and had no problems extracting apks and zpaks. After installing said components, when it comes time tostart the game, the health notice appears ad then the screen remains black but does not crash.
In the README for the tool, it has compiling instructions with indicated files. It mentions a "lib" directory and "resources" directory. Can anyone who has successfully used the exploit on an R800x (2.3.3) give clarification on this? I may have overlooked the compiling (is it necessary?) and wanted to obtain info regarding this before I start looking at the logs produced.
If possible, would anyone be able to provide a slight procedure on how to do the compiling and where?
Thanks in advance.
you have to change your data pack
use PSxperia 2
Hey Mehdi, just thanked you man, THANKS.
I knew about the 2nd beta but was unsure of using it, but after going ahead and fiddling with that one I am now HAPPILY enjoying Tekken 3 on my Xperia play!

hi my xda 2 has always seemed slow in comparison to my xda1 - i think i have put this down to lots of things running in the background perhaps thing i dont need can anyone put the spotlight on a remedy any help or comments around this would be very usefull - i am so frustrated i feel like reverting to my xda 1
It´s a bad version of the roms i guess. My old one had the same problem, really really slow. Just like a program have hang or similiar.
Try upgrading to a newer version!
defective rom...... ??? cany you direct me to a good version
hi i have now waded through numerous links and downloaded many files and have even set about installing the imate rom only to be given error code 120..... i then spent lots of time reading of a fix for this but it simply got too complicated for me....... i am concerned i might break the device if i foul-up - i also visited yorch.net for a cooked rom option however it apears to be offline ? if you could or if anyone could direct me to a .exe type install of a good stable rom i would be very gratefull. thanks for any help. :?
Perhaps the simplest way to diagnose why your device is slow, is to list down what is in your startup folder?
\My Device\Windows\Startup
xda 2 very slow ..... list of things in startup folder
\windows\startup
in this folder there are short cutss to all of the following .... active,aflashman,cflashman,checkautorun,chgDfLnk,IA-caller-id,MMreg,poutlook,stk, and tFlasMan.....
would you mind explaining to me the significance of this start up folder and what effects changing the contents of the folder would have on the operationg system ? your advice as to which items are probally not required would also be welcome ..
thanks Heath.
Hello Guys,
I´m a newbie on this particular forum and after a huge research I found a lot of information but nothing related to this.
My phone is an xperia play R800i [unfortunately running only in 2G mode due that the ICE operator in Costa Rica only runs at 850MHz 3G ]
I´m not a Linux savy person and yesterday one of my peers helped me yesterday while we were at work in doing several things.
.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.ORIGINAL Setup-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
R800i with:
Android Version: 2.3.3
Kernel: 2.6.32.9-perf
build number: 4.0.A.2.368
BASEBANd: 8x55A-AAABQMAZM-20302204-36
Locked bootloader and phone was SIM unlocked (it was from Swisscom)
No Root on this.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.--
Steps my peer did:
- Unlocked the bootloader. (he did it in a matter of seconds)
- installed the R800I world version: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1043630
--- The following happened:
- Constant messages that Android Crashed.
- No SIM being recognized / no signal from SIM chips.
----Troubleshoot: I did a phone restore and that fixed the Android issues, although the camera crashed constantly and no storage card was recognized.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
2nd test:
My peer then downloaded a new firmware which is the following:
4.01.A.0.283 (please see captures) and is super stable although I lost root access.. never used the feature and I seriously want to remove games such as Sim, etc...
Battery life is awesome and Xloud, Cam, everything works like a charm!.
Is there a possibility that someone points me out to a video tutorial in order to root this great device R800i and have super user access?.
I love the firmware but if someone is kindly enough to have a video for this version it would be most than useful
google; how to root 2.3.4 xperia
Check my sig
Thank you folks, although I was looking for a video tutorial since I Landed via google in your threads... Just wanted some more graphic guide

OMG!!! Buddy thank you!!!!!!
Thanks!!
Guys, what a great forum!.
I was able to root with "DooMLoRD_v1_ROOT-zergRush-busybox"
I´m so glad about this app, I have removed the the Sims3 and Fifa 10 hehe..
Now, what can I do next? I have 2 questions... (although just I´ll be digging more the internet..) and I even installed the Titanium Backup ;-)
1. How can I remove all the "ads" after I install something?.
2. Is there a way to download using "torre..ts" and install the APK´s for games without having the "warning" message that reports that my app is not authorized by gameloft hehe.. ?
3. Any Themes for xperia play (although I´ll search on this one)
Thank you again pals!!!! most appreciated!,

1. AdFree https://market.android.com/details?id=com.bigtincan.android.adfree&hl=sv
2. No idea. And I don't support piracy so I won't help you there. These things are cheap anyway.
3. Not much. There are a few in the themes forum that can be flashed. If you want different themes I suggest using another launcher.
Hello Folks,
Looking for some guidance... is there a new version of Firmware that I didn´t knew?. My Mobile is offering me the OTA update 4.0.2.A.0.42... however as I´m with root + BL unlocked obviously is not letting me to update.
What should I do?. My phone is showing the 4.0.1.A.0.283 running 2.3.4.
I am a new owner of an Acer a100(16GB) (currently 1.018.05_COM_GEN2) Android v3.2 and wanted to introduce my self and offer my assistance with A100 development in any way.
I'm an Android noob, but I use Linux and have done some shell scripting(Perl, Bash, Sed, Awk, a little javascript), and I am in the process of learning Java. I have also modded other devices before like PS2, PSP. So I am looking forward to learning more about Android and since I have an a100 this seems like a good place to spend some time.
So far I have just rooted my device via the Terminal Emulator method(I do have Eclipse IDE with Android SDK, ADT installed and working and should be setup help compile), got superuser, busybox, titanium, Avast installed. I also made a backup of my recovery image with dd in a shell, and did the AND to WIN hex edit(w/ Bless) of libflashplayer.so for Flash 11 so I can watch hulu, etc via Dolfin HD. I also made a Bash(run via Terminal IDE) script to re-apply the modified file after a shutdown which for now I have installed into /data/data/com.spartacusrex.spartacuside/files/bin (aka: ~/bin).
I will probably post my hulu script and lib file with some instructions later. It's basic but effective script that does some file checks and error correcting before it catenates the source file and redirects to destination. Later I may add a few more checks like making sure its running as superuser, and some post file mod checks.
Im still trying to figure out what else we can do, and how to do various things within Android at this point. So far its a fun little setup.
I wanted to say THANKS to everyone here. This place is a great resource. Special thanks to everyone that has been working on the Development end. I look forward to trying to make my self useful.
Welcome Hope you enjoy this device as much as I do.
As far as helping development, you should really check out the bypassing the bootloader thread in this forum, that's where the brainstorming is taking place atm.
Yes, we are *trying* to bypass the bootloader somehow, Crossix is getting a working kernal going while others are looking into methods of applying a work around. Your help will be much appreciated. Welcome to the Forums, and as stated above, the A100 is a great device that has a lot going for it if we can get some work done on it.

Yep I have been reading it and looking around trying to get an idea of what the typical solutions/workarounds are used on other Android devices.
I don't think I have access yet to the developer area yet.
Welcome to the a100 forums, it's always nice to have another dev working on this thing!
Development forums require 10 posts to be able to use them, so just remain active in general/QA and you'll have access in no time.
Congrats on your New Tab
Hi there fellows,
first of all, I wanted to thank all of you for the work you do on our nice phone: Developers, supporters, everyone: You've all been a great help for me
Now I come to a problem I've experienced since a few days (since I updated to FXP152 [CM10], to be exact. Reverting to FXP151/150 didn't solve the problem): "Poweramp Unlocker" just disappeared from my installed apps. This is quite a nasty problem, since I bought the unlocker a while ago and I just love Poweramp! In a few days this problem will get worse as I won't be able to use Poweramp anymore
Here's logcat: [ATTACHED] (package can't be installed to /mnt/asec/com.... for whatever reason)
Here's a screenshot: [ATTACHED] (Translation: Unknown errorcode while installing the app: "-24")
Here's a link to a bug report of which I _THINK_ it could be relevant: [Issue 34880 @ android bug tracker, unfortunately I am not allowed to post links ] (strangely, only the pa unlocker is affected for me, other apps still work fine)
So, if anyone has an idea what I could do now, I'd be very very happy The bug report suggests that it could work to install the apk (without taking the playstore-way). Since I actually bought the app, this could work, right? Does the LicenseChecker-API always return a valid license as long as I bought it, even when I installed the same apk I'd get through playstore myself? And, last but not least, could anyone who bought the app through playstore send me the unlocker apk file so I can try? I already tried to get in touch with the developer, but unfortunately even after 10 emails either he really doesn't understand what my problem is or he's just upset he hasn't the right "pre-defined-answer-emails" and doesn't want to write a new one
Thank you very very much in advance!!
All I can say is that I've experienced the same thing, only way for me too fix it was to wipe everything and reinstall.

I have a Galaxy Tab S 10.5(SM-T807P) Running Stock 5.0.2
I'm trying to find a way to get this device to play XCOM Enemy within, I've tried to see if there is a thread on XDA supporting this idea before posting this, if missed it and there is a link that someone can provide I would greatly appreciate it. However if there is not one I would like some help with someone who has some free time to assist.
I've never rooted before but I am not opposed to the idea(if it would help me accomplish this) with some instructions on how do it.
Thanks!
Have you tried finding the apk file and installing it manually? I've installed one or two apps this way and had no issues on my Tab S
(you don't need to have a rooted device to do this)
Edit: XCOM and EW are BY FAR two of my favourite games. And XCOM 2 is definitely in the same league
