Beats By Dre wireless vs other Bluetooth headphones? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Okay well let me start off by saying I own a pair of Beats by Dre Pro and Beats by Dre Studio and yes I know there are better quality out there but that's another topic. Now I need a pair of good wireless headphones so I can leave my phone charging while listening to music. I like my other pairs of Beats but for the $300 price tag, I don't think the bass I like from Beats will be the same, hence I'll be paying more than what I'll actually get. Are there any other good pair of wireless headphones out there?
Also I walked in the apple store today and it obviously showed its made for Apple products but would the controls (stop, previous, forward, etc) still work with out GNex?
Also if you give me a suggestion to a pair of wireless headphones, let me know if the wireless controls would work fine. That's a bit of a deal breaker for me. Thanks guys

I have a pair of Sennheiser MM200's and they're pretty sweet. I got them from amazon.ca (which sucks by the way) for $69 on Boxing day. I've been very happy with them. The controls work fine on my GNex.

Just an idea, I was looking for a wireless system to use when skiing I decided to go with a small bluetooth receiver. That let me use any headphones I wanted and was a much cheaper option. I started a thread about it on avs, people suggested some different options: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1385468
I went with the first result on amazon searching "bluetooth receiver 3.5mm". It has a button on it that can play/pause/skip/restart (not previous track tho)...

Why buy new wireless headphones? Make your current headphones wireless with a BT receiver.
I bought a couple of these for my car and home.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/BLUETOOTH-A2DP-HEADSET-ADAPTER-AUDIO-RECEIVER-DONGLE-/160708041305
Plug your headphones into this, pair it with your phone. Now all your phone audio goes to the headphones via BT and wireless.
I have it plugged into my line in for my car and it's hidden away.
And at home I have it plugged into the AUX input of my clock radio.
Varies from $15-$20 on eBay.

No offense, but that looks bigger and bulkier then both the Bluetooth receiver I got: http://www.amazon.com/Miccus-BluBridge-Mini-Jack-Bluetooth-Bluetooth-Enabled/dp/B0038MA11U/

stereo bluetooth 3.5mm adaptor

I was thinking about buying one of these.
Does anyone else have one? Are they an good?
I have just a basic usb to 3.5 headphone adapter, and I use iPod headphones.
Sounds great to me.

Yea, I bought those and they are being shipped to me right now.
But I think that the stereo bluetooth adapter seems pretty convenient, no?
If HTC shipped a bluetooth adapter like this, I wouldn't complain about the lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack
Or you could just get stereo BT headphones and forget the wires and adapters!

No stereo bluetooth headphones can compare to my Shure earbuds.
Plus I think that most stereo bluetooth headphones are clunky.
Do you have a nice pair though? any recomendations?
I got one from ebay as well. I paid less than that, but it's still the same. They all are manufactured in China. I use mine everyday. Good sound quality, works right out of the box. I haven't really had any problems.
I only have two complaints. 1. You cant use them while charging, as the charger shown in the third picture is plugged into the headphone port. Strange, yes but it works. That is not really that much a problem, because it has great battery life! 2. No matter what I do, I cannot connect it to my computer to stream music from my computer to the A2d2p adapter. (or whatever it's called, lol) If you come up with a solution after you get yours, please post, or email me.
For me, price was an issue. I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money to listen to music from my phone, but I wanted good sound quality. Regular Bluetooth Stereo Headphones are expensive. For me, this was the way to go. I bought this and a pair of Sony wrap around headphones, and I am rockin'. I think you will be pleased.
**edit**
PS - I have attached the manual I got from a Chinese Suppliers site, as one doesn't come with it. At least not with mine. (Maybe thats why I got mine cheaper, lol)
PSS - And you know they are not only headphone adapters, but can be used for calls as well. It is kind of awkward to hold the adapter up to talk to someone, but I usually just clip it on my lapel. OK, done editing now.

Nice! Thank you for the information!
I think I'm going to get one, I just have to be careful because most of the ones they are selling on Ebay only have UK outlet plugins. I live in the US, and it looks like you do too by the picture of your plug.
I have these:

Great sound, comfy and durable as hell.
But I think im going to try out these next as I want something smaller and lighter, Im still shoppin though for a newer pair:

Cool dude. The Voyager ones look nice, but I think I'm gonna go the cheap route and just get the converter.
I have one of these:
http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/products/accessories/overview/hbh-ds200?cc=CA&lc=en
It's a Sony Ericsson DS-200 which I bought last year specifically so I could plug some decent headphones in!
I think it was fairly expensive - about £50 when I bought it, but it has worked great with anything that I've wanted to pair with it, including my Excalibur.
But it's far better than using a wired headset with a 3.5 jack in my opinion, because if you use "proper" earphones that come with a long-ish cord then combine that with the long-ish cord from the wired headset then it makes for some nightmareish tangles! Using A2DP seems like freedom in comparison!
Highly recommended

Lol about the longish cord, gave up on wired headsets as the ammont of times i'd rip the cord when cycling, i'm using STAK semi enclosed cans made for 3 network they were cheap bout £30 and give loud playback with comfortability and like post above a2dp makes listening to music far more enjoyable skippin tracks in an instant answering calls in an instant...

I'm using Sennheiser CX300, not audiophile grade by any means but certainly better than bundled headphones or stuff like that, they're great.
I love impressing people on the bus by hiding the A2DP receiver in a pocket and then watching a movie or something on my phone, I've had a few people who were watching over my shoulder anyway ask me how I was listening to the sound! Hehe

In my ears it is. It took me a while to decide on what ones to get. These can last around 14hrs or so on a charge and charge by micro usb.
I sometimes use the samsung headphones that came with the gs2 if i don't want the bt module on my shirt. I put it to my pocket. Kinda pointless to some but I keep my phone cordless like this.
I an charge it on a table or something while still using the bt function. And the stock ear buds for the gs2 have a mic and I think the mic is used during a call. Cause people say they can hear me fine when the module is in my pocket or far away from my mouth.
I am using a Plantronics Backbeat. The one I bought came with a dongle that plugs into a non-bluetooth device. So I use the headset with my phone, via bluetooth. And also can hook up to my TV using the dongle. Under $100.
Picked it up last year at Fry's.

I use a Motorola S305 set. They are cheap in price (under $40 at Amazon) but sound pretty decent. Owned them for almost a year with no problems.
i got a huge list
however of the ones that performed the best
Motorola HT820 the best sound and beat, full feature, easy to use, extra long battery life
as of today i've not found anything that can compare, i've pretty much purchased every sony, jabra, motorola, platonic, all other names i forgot, etc, etc
all the rest were like meh.. 3rd place or worse rating
platonics are the worse
in 2nd place best i'll name Jabra BT8010 super convenient, it kinda sucks in the sound quality for audiophile but gets the job done if you want elegance
What about the LG HBS700: http://www.amazon.com/LG-HBS-700-Wi..._1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1319749852&sr=1-1 inexpensive, comfortable. great sounding.
the wires kinda defeats the purpose
that's something i didn't quite like about the Jabra BT8010
i'm looking forward to try out the new Motorola MOTOACTV https://motoactv.com/ which also have bluetooth stereo addon MOTOROLA SF700

I got my set at Fry's for $50. I can see them being a problem with someone with a large head though, as the cord isn't very long. I also have experience with the Moto S10's which are also nice.
Sony Ericsson MW600 Bluetooth. They are in-ear earbuds but you can simply unplug them and plug in any other headphone that have the 3.5mm plug turning them into Bluetooth. So you can take your favorite wired headphone and make them Bluetooth. I wear them everyday and they are only $40-$50 on Amazon.

I recently bought a pair of future sound lab zero headphones (also for use at the gym) and am quite satisfied with them. Very comfortable and great sound quality.
Only annoyance is the non-standard charging plug. Would've been better if they'd used a mini or micro usb port.

I've been using these for about 3 years without a problem. Paired with Poweramp's equaliser, you can really tune them to suit your taste and genre of music. They're also decent on battery, cheap, and eady to modify.
I bought a pair of Motorola S305 headphones, they are over the ear style, the band goes behind the neck, they charge with standard micro usb, the sound is decent, a little static in my ears on phone calls, but people say they can hear me better than on my phone alone. I've recommended them to my friends, and four of them bought them, all but one still loving them. The other sold them for inner ear bud style ones.
I'm still using mine, still loving them

Yep, I have the LG Tone+ bluetooth earbuds and they work very well.
I assume you're enquiring about the play/pause/forward/back buttons on the headphones and whether they work with the Play Music program? If so, then yes, they work flawlessly for me at least.

i really like them for working out or running. they stay in place. the only con i have about them is that if you wear them with the cord behind your neck sometimes they can get caught when turning your head certain ways. to avoid that now i just wear them with the cord to the front. doesnt look as cool lol but cant feel anything but the buds in your ears. the sound quality is decent. one big thing i loved about these tho is that when you're wearing them it doesnt feel like you're covering your ears with your hands and can hear everything like footsteps or anything rubbing up against you. i originaly bought some jaybirds and they did exactly that, it was just too annoying for the price i had paid. i could hear my footsteps in my head and the cord rubbing up against my neck, you had to put the music too loud to try and cover the noises but you could always hear it
Great, thanks for all the replies guys.
I got myself a Plantronics BackBeat GO 2 Bluetooth Earbuds and they worked amaizingly with all the buttoms features it has, they are like 8 diferent combos for calls and etc.
I would really recommend this if anyone is looking for great bluetooth earbuds. :highfive:

they work perfectly... even though they're a bit older now and kind of bulky

Headphones?

I already have the bullet wireless v1. But i don't no if I should update to the v2 or should i get the skullcandy indy. Qnd suggestions would be appreciated.
For $99, how good can they really be?! SkullCandy is the better choice, if you feel the need to buy new headphones. Just remember though, the device does not come with a USB-C to headphone adapter in the box, in case you are interested in using wired headphones. Personally, I still prefer to use my Sennheiser HD598C's.
I can't stand earphones that completely plug your ears. So... I use airpods with my android phone. Shhh. Don't tell anyone.
Go with bluetooth head phones
If you already have wired earphones, instead of a dongle, I highly recommend this: https://www.fiio.com/btr3

Can someone confirm that I can get any headphones that are USB-C?
I see headsets on Amazon listed that show specific "compatibility" requirements, so I'm wondering if this would be something I need to worry about.
Or is just any headset with USB-C ok?
Instead of wearing down the USB C port with constant connects and disconnects of a dongle, get a good bluetooth DAC and you are set. I myself use a combination of Fiio FH1 in-ear monitors and Fiio BTR3, planning to upgrade to BTR5 when it launches
Buy a pair of redmi airdots for just 20$ that's very good

If you've already got the V1 Bullets Wireless, don't bother upgrading. I lost my V1s so I bought the V2s, they sound awesome, but it doesn't matter because they keep falling out of my ears. I miss the fins on the V1s because then I didn't have to keep adjusting them and putting them back in my ears.
