SuperNova Extreme By Droidzone
Well I have tried SuperNova Extreme By Droid Zone.
However The only problem I am experiencing right now is that My Phone just hangs up. And I have to pull the batteries out. Tried several ROMs such as Pyramid 007
SuperNova Extreme Gingerburst etc but the Phone just hangs and I have to pull the battery out sometimes 10 - 20 time a day and that's why I switched back to CM7.1.
Hey anderl78 what about your ROM do you think such problems exist.

I haven't seen such problem till now. Sounds like a undervolt or overheating issue. You can try it and we will see what we can do.

I used alex-v froyo rom for some while and very happy with it.
It's very close to the original htc stock rom, but I had about 100 apps installed.
Now changing to alex-v's gingerbread rom...
Also very close to the original htc stock rom..but promises ENDLESS memory.
;-)

I run the runny AIO 5.0.3 nu sebastiaan15. If you are s -off and have a 1gb ext4 partition on your sd choose the AP2SDX. I have around 700 MB left for my apps

I am trying your rom for a day. It's great! really, great job man!
Have given Runnymede another try (four days), but to me it still lags a bit too much.

Good suggestions.
Although I want one that has a gingerbread quick settings and gingerbread power and data dashboard apps (I've tried apps from the market but they're nothing near the same :-() are there any like that? Or a way of adding those to a stock-ish rom without much interference? I'm using data++ because of the speed it gives over data2ext etc.

Try widgetsoid. I have configured it to my liking and I find it much better than quicksettings. ;-)
If you insist on gingerbread, try the RevolutioN rom in my signature. IMHO these two roms are the very best for our desire.

[Q] Light weight rom

Hello Fellaz!
Im new user with desire and now im seeking light weight + stable + fast rom.
I managed to root my phone nicely, installed few roms and ended up using LeeDroid for now. It seems much better than original.
Q2: Whats the best way to get totally rid of bloatware(peep, twitter, stocks, etc..)
-Samo
The easiest way is to remove the .apks from the zip before you flash, but you can use adb commands to remove them, like here.
I keep forgetting to remove footprints. Stupid piece of junk!
Redux rc6 clean small light weight gingerbread rom, an use the oxygen Hboot and you will have 295mb internal free for apps
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Try CyanogenMod 6.1.1. Fast, stable and amazing. For removing stock apps you can use AppAdmin (free app on Market).

I believe Oxygen 2.0 is the smallest right now. Awesome ROM.

Redux rc6 is also, it fits in oxygen Hboot and have the same amount of free space for apps,
Also has working video camera and updated market.
I love oxygen 2.0 but I'm waiting for the N1 OTA update before I go back, redux just feels smoother and more responisve, also comes with CPU settings inbuilt, also has amazing battery life

Thanks guys for the nice replys.
Running now with redux, super smooth and battery wise.
BIG THANKS
-Samo
i would say Redux rc6 ! it's superfast and stable, not a single reboot or anything.
EDIT: i was too slow
running CM7 with ~220MB RAM Free, when i was on the stock 2.2 Sense with mostly the same apps i had only ~90MB free

- Smoothness while scrolling homescreens
- Time to boot up

Any personal feedback is appreciated!

There is no best rom at all. It depends on your needs. Just flash some gingerbread sense roms and test them.
Personally I love LeeDroid ROMs.
* very good battery life
* smooth and fast scrolling with HTC sense
* very good A2SD+/DATA+
* all in all a very very good ROM but as previous comments state, its personal preferences. But I would suggest you give it a try.

GingerBurst ftw
Android 2.3
Sense 2.1
Very fast - If you have a decent SD card class
Good battery
Best of all 2GB internal memory Never see that low on space crap again.

Using Reflex S 2.1.7, very fast!

I will have to give leedroid a try too

Highly recommended. It fullfills all your needs.
Don't use v17 though, wait for v18 (should be uploaded today I think) or use v14 if you cant wait
v17 got some nasty bugs.

Faster because it is almost stock Android and no additional hacks like in CM7 + Needs less space on system partition (because of no added apps).
Cheers for the reply, I assume to take advantage of that extra space I need to s-off and use custom hboot right?
Sent from my CM7.1 Desire using XDA Premium App
I only used MIUI aosp RoM its very fast and smooth
CyanogenMOD 7
I used it for 2 months and never have problems with it!
GingerVillain, Cyanogenmod
Cyanogen. In my experience the fastest ROM my phone's ever seen.
or try MIUI if you're looking for a whole new UI experience - it's pretty damn good. Can't bring myself to change it

Nah you need not, but if you want the extra space you should.
Also it's down to preferences, but my experience also give the win to oxygen hands down. CM is nice in its own way, but at some points it's just disturbingly complex(yes you get a lot of extra features which is unneeded for me) and many times it stutter at some user-interactions, where oxygen just feels more solid as well as minimal to me.
Redux 1.2. No word of a lie.
HTC Desire, Redux 1.2, S-OFF, CM7 HBOOT.
Tried the latest CM7 but it was rather 'sluggish'... Now tried Redux 1.2 and it's really really nice. DIdn't try Oxygen, perhaps I'll do it when I have some time, but not right now!
For me Oxygenrom offers the best performance. Battery life is also quite good
So I've been running Oxygen 2.2 then 2.2.1 and now I'm on the Redux2 snapshot. Still hard to choose between them. But because it's complete, I would change my suggestion to Oxygen.
PHONE: HTC Desire GSM, S-OFF
ROM: Redux2 Snapshot 18082011
RADIO: 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2
KERNEL: thalamus 2.6.35.14_r1
Oxygen is the best since it is minimal so that you can add many things accordingly to your needs.
Whats best is subjective. Whats fastest depends on how you use your phone. The fastest ROM I have tried is Redux 1.2
Also, just because something is close to stock doesn't automatically mean its going to be faster.
Fastest and best aosp I've found is GingerVillain 2.8
All the benefits of CM7 but with the added tweaks from Richard Trip.
(Found the home screens were a little sluggish when going from one to another when I first started using it, but then added Launcher Pro to it and now it flies!)

simple Stock rom

hey guys i have tried so many rom on my HTC Desire mostly all m facing problem ramdom restart FC and ETC ...
i am looking for a Simple Stock Rom maybe GB 2.3.x with internal memory thats it maybe 1gb or 2gb plz advice... all i want is a stable rom that it its ok if thr is no tweeks or anything else
What about SuperNova:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1045824
wel that was my 1st rom i used but have not tried it after update is it stable??? i want somthin for daily use... some 1 plz advice
Either Supernova or An-droid.
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
I like SBGS / SensEVolutioN.
It's just what what the Desire needs: Not too many bells & whistles, so it's reasonably fast, and a bit extra internal memory.
thanks man i will try them... and c whats good for me..
Nw I have a new phone, I am going to revert to RCMix 2.1. Recently I have tried the Runny's and various others, but this one was always solid as a rock.
Will be perfect if I need to fire up the Desire for any reason, as I know the ROM will work and not be buggy at all.
Or you can also try stock android roms ? like dgb or redux ? With stability and speed no problems
DGB is pretty solid. Just depends if you want Sense or AOSP?
Random restarts are likely to be caused by a damaged motherboard, especially if your phone is rebooting when running intensive apps like angry birds and getting warm at the base. You should get your phone back to there supplier to be fixed.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA
But I think oxygen is the lightest and most stable ROM for our phone
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA
I am using cool droid v3 gsm....its wonderfull...no FC...the only minor issue is with the dialer....but until a new update i am using dialer one....cheers

[Q] Fastest HTC Desire Rom (performance)

Hi all,
I'm currently looking for the fastest / best performing HTC Desire Rom.
As I'm playing Ingress, its really slow and closes very often. I was thinking flashing a Rom without Sense, as it would probably perform better.
I guess 2.3 is faster than the new built? Or is it the other way around?
Let me know if you have any suggestions, or if I should use a 2.3 no-sense Rom?
Regards

I would recommend AOKP VJ 4.2.2 Jelly Bean v2.1. In my eyes it is one of the fastest, smoothest and most stable CM 10.1 based ROMs at the moment. I appreciate that it constantly keeps the mem free above 100mb.
i'd say Mildwild roms are the fastest and most stable.
Been using them for a long time now....still very pleased with them.
They have a few small issues, but overall...the fastest roms available if u ask me.
Currently running MW9.5 Redux, but used MW8 before....i find MW8 a little bit faster and better...it's got a few more options than MW9.5
...hoping for and upgrade of the MW8 version....
Wanted to say thx for all your suggestions. I'm running 4.2.2 VJ CM 10.1 now, and its awesome.
Pretty fast, and i got plenty of RAM, so Ingress does not close when minimizing (not everytime at least)
Thx! :highfive:
