Root without computer? - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

<hi guys , I was wondering if there was a way to rot the samsung epic 4g without using a computer , its on 2.2 froyo

Use z4root or gingerbreak. Google them.

You can try Gingerbreak since you are still on Froyo. Nothing will work if you allow your phone to update to Gingerbread. Here is the link:

Yes but it is still not the same device. They flash to boost the same but the device is still different.

The ns4g and epic are flashed to boost the same way. Therefore need the Same components. If your just going to post to complain, don't even post at all
Anyways I "think" I found it. I need to a incognito not a galaxy prevail for a donor
Will a blackberry 8350 work as a donor?

Root Failed - Help Please

Hi,
I just got a Epic 4g from sprint. I went to root it via this method:
androidauthority.com/epic-4g-sph-d700-root-odin-92294/
Should have used something else, upon reboot the phone is stuck on samsung screen.
What are my options. I can still access DL and Rec modes. I just need root access for some apps, I was going to be lazy and wait for ICS to be pushed out, but if this is going to take as much effort anyway, I would consider pushing 4.0 on it.
Help Please
Google How to root samsung Epic on FC09 youtube video by qbking77....has links to all the files you need.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
That did it, thanks.
make sure you are not using the stock cable, and be using a good data cable. like a blackberry one or something.
You have to root to run 4.0
It isn't ever being pushed officially.

Challenge Accepted.
I just called Sprint, they said there are no plans of doing an ETA of 4.0 for the Epic 4G, I argued that I'm on CM9 with 4.04 and they said "well.. Well.. Well" they were speechless and I clicked on them, happiness achieved.

Fm Transmitter for Mytouch 4g

This app does exactly as its name. For short, it transmits whatever audio been played on ur device to an fm frequency. So that fm radios, tuners etc can play what you playing on your phone. If you still dont get the idea, pls google on what an Fm transmitter is.
Note this app isnt mine, I found it a while ago and it seems to have vannished off the internet.
As I have been told it was made by The Guys who created Spirit Fm. Mike if am correct and anyone else who I dont know about
So feel free and enjoy.
Here is the download link.
