It seems that I cannot import the videos made with the GNex into the Picasa desktop client.
Any ideas ?
The vids are MP4
File format: MOV
Encoder: H264
According to Picasa help it should be able to play those but it's not happening.

This is a free utility to convert one or multiple movies that you can create with the built in camera on your dash/excalibur. I thought I would share this with you guys, I noticed I can play the movies on my phone but not in windows. This will allow you to convert videos from the phone to playable clips on your pc. Makes it a snap to youTube or Myspace!
Enjoy!

Converts MP4 to:
Xvid 1.1.3
Divx 3
MPEG-4 AVC

Motion JPEG

Hi all is there a way for this phone to save videos as mp4 and not 3gp.
Hi,
I want to know whether I can record Videos in MP4 format in my DHD instead of 3GP. I feel compression in MP4 is much lessor than in 3GP and it will result in a better videos. Please let me know if there is any Mod/App to do this.
thanks...

Mp4 like 3gp is just the container. Actually the codec used for the video stream is the same as the one commonly used in mp4 files - h264. So the only benefit in recording in mp4 is compatibility, because mp4 is more widely spread across media players than 3gp. For instance my TV can play mp4 files via USB but not 3gp.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
And so ?
Any one found a solution ?
I'm interrested too and I'm currently browsing the web for a solution.
It was so easy to change the video format with the HD2.
Why have they make this choise of only 3gp ?
find a converter 3gp to MP4
Anyone found a solution for this?
I would like to record in MP4 because of compatibility issues with mediaplayers. Renaming the recorded files from .3gp to .mp4 works for me, but I don't want to do this manually.
This is the closest I've been so far (Replacing HTCCamera with Google Camera):

I just purchased my first WP7 phone and I downloaded a movie from the Zune Store and applyed it to my phone. The quality is VERY bad, subtitles are almost unable to be read. Did i do something wrong? How do I get a nice clear video play back on the device? the file is 1.1 GB so it can't be file compression.
I myself have only downloaded music videos but what I have noticed is zune actually gives you 2 different files. One file has a resolution of 640x480 and the other has a lower resolution. When I sync the video using zune it syncs the lower quality video.
The HD videos in my arc are directly downloaded from youtube, meaning it had a profile of [email protected]
The thumbnails in Gallery are generated when I was still on rom X-Gamer+GB lupusv2
I switched to UHD+Lupusv16, movie thumbnails wont generate in both Album and Movies app, neither in Gallery2
Tried rush kernel, not working.
My workaround is to change video profile to Baseline for thumbnails to generate, but it doesnt copy the original stream size(e.g. 95% but output is 90)
Some users here might want to use Movies app but thumbnails doesnt work, try using a media encoder and change profile to baseline VBR 2-pass.
Is thumbnail generation a kernel or a rom problem?
Other workarounds other than changing roms?
TIA
