I aqquired an old HP iPaq rx3115; while it sucks just as much as any HP device, due note that HP does know some good programmers. (Except for printers of course)
Examples:
iPaq Backup - 13.7MB 2m36s 90kb/s - full control of what directories/files you want to backup
Restore 1m47s 130kb/s
xBackup - 21.8MB 12+mins - either full backup or contacts only
Painter. Well ****, why didn't we have this?
HPimgview
Much like album, but with thumbnails of next pics below. Pretty neat, but only works on HP. Maybe we can hack that.
So yeah, gather up all your old 2003 devices and give me your best programs

Hey guys,
SPB Backup is running for several years now on my Universal and I really don't want to miss it anymore, especially since we're all doing ROM stuff as discussed a lot over here.
Today I bought the new HTC S710 (Vox) and a while playing around I was sad to see that SPB Backup won't install on the Smartphone interface. Ok, I should have known, but a lot of Pocket PC apps WILL actually install and work.
The question now is, what is a SPB Backup like tool for Windows Mobile Smartphone? E.g. like a tool that creates an entire image of your situation which can be restored later.
Thanks for the tips!!
Is there anyway to create a backup of your current settings, apps, etc. for the touch pro 2? I searched the forum and came up with zilch. I had tried the SPB backup utility, but it doesn't seem to work while touch flow 3d is running. If anybody knows of a utility that doesn't conflict with TF3d, or knows a workaround to get the SPB backup utility to work without removing TF3d I would greatly appreciate it.
I use "Sprite Backup" http://www.spritesoftware.com/
and it works good for me...Tj
I'll second the vote for Sprite Backup. Works fine on the TP2.
Thanks a lot for the speedy response guys, I'll try it out now.
RE: RE: How to Backup TP2
With Sprite, does it back up your APPS also?
My HOPE is to find a backup program that restores my phone just like it is today. With apps that are working and my serial numbers already in.

I think XDA UC Customize does this, never used it so i'm not 100% sure.
SPB Backup
SPB Backup will do what you want, and it does it very well.
I did some heavy testing of SPB Backup vs Sprite Backup about 3 years ago on a whole bunch of 8525's (work related project). At the time, Sprite had a few very serious bugs, but SPB worked great. I still use SPB Backup today.
If you're wanting to back your stuff up so you can flash new ROMs and do a minimal amount of work to get your apps/settings back, you should try SASHIMI over at winmo-experts. It takes a bit of work to learn and setup, but its well worth it
Hey there
I just installed Spb Finance on my blackstone with duttys R14 and when I open the spb finance entry app (already modified for my resolution with the dskin file) it shows error: Can not initialize main dialog!
Does anyone else encounter this?
Is there a way to fix that?
Thanks
same problem here.. any solutions?
I also have the problem...
... my machine is a HTC Diamond 2 with a newly loaded Win 6.5 ROM. Before SPB Finance was running without problems. Has somebody any idea? Thanks!
So it seems to be a problem with all WM6.5
Known problem in WVGA devices, not just 6.5! You need to search the SPB main site and download a new skin for this finance entry sub-program. This may be in the "Sticky" section of the Pocket Finance forum. Hope this helps.
Alan
Folks, I have been using SPB Finance v2.8.0 fine up to Dutty's Leo R4, which runs on wm6.5. It also ran fine with 6.1 stock and various cooked roms. Never had the problem you've mentioned.
Found this
Alan
I've already tried everything, but without any success - same error msg. I use XTROM GridLeo 1.8.1. Before that, I've had the original WM6.1 rom and after fixing d_skin file it did work. But now, it doesn't.
thanks Alanjp3. it is vga skin, but works.
While the skin worked with my Sprint HTC Touch Pro2 on the WM6.1 Rom, it does NOT work on the WM6.5 ROM.
SPB does not support this product any more.
Has anyone here got a solution on how to run this on a 6.5 ROM?
Thanks folks!!
try winmoFinance....very simple app, gives you what you need...
I changed to that and am OK for the basic money in my pocket tracking
same problem for me too so i changed for Inesoft Cash Organizer.

Yes, that's what I'm using now as well. Works great, though I have one little gripe: In order to see my balances through the today plugin: does anyone know what the shortcut / command parameter to that is? It's so much faster than to have to open the whole program to see the balance.
Another thing: With Cash Organizer I seem to have to buy the program each time I change devices. Is that normal, or am I doing something wrong?
Tried other options too, like WinMoFinance - but it doesn't do what I need it to do. I need to sync 2 PPCs with MSMoney, and the Quick Entry screen is a must by now.
Thanks to all who keep looking!
spbFinance seems to work, sort of
Facing similar problems in upgrading to HD2, I enquired of spb and got this helpful answer that might be of use to others:
"Unfortunately SPB Finance has not been updated for several years, and currently I am not able to promise that it will be updated soon.
SPB Finance does not fully support recent Windows Phones, like HTC HD2. The main application will basically work, but the additional one SPB Finance Entry will not."
I haven't ever used the SPB Finance Entry route, so I stand a chance of getting the main program to work, especially if using a DAgi stylus.
The Cash Organiser program generates a Product ID number that is keyed to the PDA, probably not the Owner Name as lot of product ids do (in which case it would be portable if you use the same owner name) ore likely the PDA UUID in which case it is a new Reg Key for each PDA. That makes it pretty difficult when it comes to upgrading machines so I give software with that kind of protection a miss.
Yup, Inesoft's Cash Organizer is out for us too.
- I change devices often (also have my weekend diamond), and I would have to write in and have them send me a new key each time I change my device. A no go for me.
-the program has at times trouble syncing and when it sees conflicts, just creates a fictitious account on the pda. And even when I erase the account, is keeps it in it's guts and recreates it each time I try to sync again.
Thank you much for posting your correspondence with spb.
Hello all. I am going to pick up an Omnia from a friend of mine in exchange for my current phone. This is not my first experience with winmo but I have not had any in-dept time with it either. I am going to need someone to help me out, as I am not familiar with all the basic things that one needs to do in order to get the final product I am looking for.
Here is what I'd like to do to the phone:
Run Manila 2D (essentially make my phone an HTC clone)
Run some kind of screen lock slider, preferably identical to that of the iphone
Install a new keyboard (spb or resco)
My first question before I get into anything else is -- Is this possible to run all of these modifications, or when running Manila is it impossible to run anything else? I have a 2 GB storage card, and the knowhow to install cab files and such. Still details would be much appreciated.
Concerning Manila 2d -- I have read that once installed there is still a hefty amount of tweaking to do, is this still the case, or has most of the tweaking been handled in the newest version? (nuances I've read such as threaded messages being recognized as "read" etc) Also does one need anything preinstalled in order to run it properly? What other tweaks will I need in order to take full advantage of Manila 2d? (commanager etc)
I understand there are stickys and previous information for this sort of topic, but most are written for those with a little more in-depth knowledge of winmo and applications thereof. (for example I do not know what commmanager is etc) So I need someone to just give me a brief rundown as well as cover all of the basic must haves for the Omnia
Thank you all I understand this may be tedious but I appreciate any and all help.
Hello,
because I'm tired of carrying 2.7kg 15.4" laptop, I will be using my TP2 with HW keyboard (getting better BT one, waiting it to arrive). As of now, I will be doing "Hamachi and RDP to home" way, but I got idea. Why not bring OneNote, that actually works like OneNote to our phones?
Let's start with some images:
supporting loading/saving, different notebooks and sections, font settings, drawing as you draw by hand, lines, rectangles, ... selecting colors, thickness and what not. Using latest innovations (like finger scrolling over screen, either software or hardware keyboards, portrait/landscape switching, ...) ofc.
Are you interested? Will somebody use it? Or is it not worth doing?
// I forgot to wrote, that there would be also PC ver (or could be made) that would support editing, viewing, ... on PC too
// update #2: few more screenshots:
(those arrows on the right and bottom are for adding more space on the side)
if you ask me (of course you don't) then it doesn't make sense to create a "new" OneNote.
what would make more sense is to have a better OneNote on PPC, but use the format the M$ OneNote uses and replace the PPC client.
It would make less work, because you do not have to write a PC version.
cheers!

I will check the .onex format for new 2010 onenote (better zipped new archive than old binary file), hope it will be selfexplaining so I could make it.
The default onenote mobile sucks - you can't draw anywhere or write anywhere you want (or at least I havent found it there).
We'll see what is possible and what isn't, I must take in consideration that this is phone with touchscreen and not pc with mouse.
I couldn't find any export to .onex, the new 2010 still uses .one binary-looking file?
Oh and implementing this? Forget about it, opening documents would take a lot of effort because it is.... just too much stuff. And the mobile onenote, can't find specs what it can and what can't do.
// Or I can simply stop saying "real mobile OneNote" and just say notebook application and problem solved too LOL. Porting to desktop windows is a matter of hour or two, because most of the code is shared. Even now I can run the app from phone and run it directly on PC, without recompiling or so, all I need is to have installed .NET CF GAC on PC (which I do).
