Got it on amazon

Sweet! Gettin one!

I'm noticing since the case's buttons aren't like the tpu cases ones, they can be a pain in the ass. Power button isn't predictably responsive. The volume keys behave messed up sometimes if you don't press on the very top or very bottom of them. I think that it could be pressing both buttons if you don't hit it on the right spot. The last time I tried to cut the button area out of a tpu case, it turned out looking like crap so I don't make that mistake again.

I woke up this morning and my phone was super hot and stuck at the boot screen. I took everything out and let the phone cool. Now I have a burn in. This sucks man. It probably would have cought on fire if left the battery in any longer. It also melted the end of my charger cable a bit. Be careful using this product. Ill probably have to try and return my phone too if this screen burn in is permanent.

I'm not saying its your fault, so don't get any ideas. Do you think there is a possibility that the rom you were running might have did this? It sounds like the battery was in the phone when this happened. What was your setup for the phone? Was it over/under clocked? What brand charger were you using? Car or wall outlet or computer? Was the cable removable from the charger or was it hard wired? How long was it left charging for?
I'm just trying to see what might have caused it. Unless you get someone that is cool/feels sorry for you at sprint, you might be sol because it was an aftermarket battery and not a sprint or Samsung branded battery. I've got the original Samsung battery, a sprint branded battery that came with some bass ackwards external charger that had the contacts on the left so you couldn't charge extended life batteries, and the trexcell. Now that I found an external charger that works with extended batteries, the Samsung branded charger sprint sells for the epic 4g, I don't charge batteries in the phone anymore.
Definitely let us know what happens. I'm now looking at the seidio extended life battery. Their battery doors never fit perfectly. I think the seidio battery would fit the trexcell door and tpu case. Hmm, comparing a $20 battery to a $60 battery, I wonder if the you get what you pay for comes into play with this situation? Me starts to worry now...

Are you the seller? I sent an email. Ive been running the same ROM with the stock kernel for a few weeks. (Maddoggin). I don't overclock, the only kernel tweak I've done was set the governor to conservative. I was using the Samsung charger and cable.
I already called sprint and asurion will call me monday about a replacement phone. I didn't mention an aftermarket battery, just said the phone got extremely hot, got stuck on the boot screen overnight and created a nasty burn in. They suggested I don't charge my phone anymore lol. Im back on the stock battery and the phone charges fine.
The extended battery itself has a slight bulge on one side. Im confident the battery went faulty and it wasn't the phone. The burn in has started to fade, if its gone by monday I wont need a replacement.

I'd still try and get a replacement if possible if it were me. Take pictures, show us. Like the saying, "pics or it didn't happen." Its time for show and tell. If the seller doesn't respond, try contacting Amazon. If that doesn't get anywhere, post pictures in a review of the battery on Amazon. I'm sure that will get the ball rolling really fast!

Why would I lie? But if it makes you feel better here's some pics.
Like I said the battery has a slight bulge, but you can't really see it when taking pics. Im afraid to use it though after what happened.

I'm just curious what it looked like. I was under the impression that it was worse than it looks.

Screen burn in, the rubber melted around the plug, I'd say its a bad situation nonetheless. Im lucky my 32GB sd card didn't melt.

ok now im getting worried because I just ordered the tpu case & extended battery
hope it doesnt screw up my phone

The case fits nice and snug, its a great addition to the extended battery.

i have a soulution
i used the end all processes in the stock task manager before immediately sleeping the phone while i was charging from a wall outlet. this caused the phone to become incredibly hot. i repeated the same process and it did the same thing with the boot screen stuck. the next time i went to the home screen after ending all apps and the phone never heated and the screen stayed blank. something is needed to have a proper charge when the task manager is used to end all apps. i hope this helps.

I've never had this happen. I also haven't done like you said. I also don't use the supplied charger that came with the phone. I also use a Samsung external charger to charge my batteries and not the phone. I don't know if that has anything to do with anything.

I bought the trexxell 3800 and the tpu case for $30 on eBay. Took 2 days to get to my house and everything fits perfect. Very very happy w the product. Battery lasts forever.

Case is awesone fits snuggily been 2 weeks since using it .. quite satisfied and a necessity for drops and scratches.

Seidio 3500mah Extended Battery (w/ Pics)

I received my 3500mah on Friday with case. I haven't done any formal testing, but its been off the charger since last night on a fresh, untreated ROM and after a full day of work (including 35 minutes of Pandora on my commuter) its at 73%.
Now, some blown out pics:

Pros:
There is no debating this; the camera lens is now OFF of flat surfaces!
With the changed dimensions of the phone, I find it easier to hold.
If you like a more pronounced presence in your pants, this phone will help provide it
You know when you have left your phone behind. This is great if you are a /b/tard that can't remember anything.
Holy crap the battery life!
Battery does not get hot. I haven't felt a temp change at all at 1190Mhz.
The balance of the phone has been maintained.
Slip-free material on the rear cover feels better and is more tactile.
The rear cover snaps in tighter than the OEM.
Cons:
Its heavier. Not as much as you would think, but it definitely adds weight. Not necessarily always a bad thing.
Its fatter. The overall size reminds me more of a PDA than a phone now.
The material used on the rear cover is impervious to all sticky material. I ordered two covers, the other one has been ground down trying to fit an M2 disc on the back and nothing is working. I've tried 3M tape, 3M windshield tape, Super Glue, and JBWeld. Its futile.
There is always the off chance that a battery goes off in my hand like a grenade, killing me, my puppy, two cats, two chinchillas, and possibly my wife in one hellacious blaze of glory. Hopefully Bon Jovi will be playing at the time.
Conclusion:
[4.5/5] I ordered an extended battery that was twice the size of my regular battery with a rear cover replacement and got exactly what I expected. Its not for everyone; But if you want your phone to feel more substantial and have a battery that has a half-life apparently on par with the radioactive isotopes at Chernobyl, this might be the battery for you.
More to come as I play with it! Post your thoughts and experiences.
More (resized this time) pics, showing the pronounced camera protection.
I agree, I've had mine now for approx 2 weeks and could never go back. I've been running Hero's Baked Snacks Roms and can easily get 2 days with moderate use if needed (I charge every night however). I'm usually around 55% - 60% (approx) after a full day.
It's definitely fatter but the phone is large anyway. The only drawback for me is that i cant fit any case on it which kinda sucks..

Agreed. I wanted to show the recessed lens because the back cover kind of acts like a case. But I would like to skin it a little more.
I need to find a way to stick the Soundgate disc on the back. This is driving me insane.
I should be getting mine tomorrow. Can't wait.

I got mine in the mail today. When my girlfriend called to ask me what I was doing this morning, I responded, "waiting on my new battery, of course. " I was able to charge it before I left for work this evening. I had to restart 3x before I reached a full charge. I will be happy when its properly calibrated. Four hours later I am at 89%. I love it.

I wish they'd make this with a Rugged Case that fits it...the Rugged is bulky enough, I think they'd get a good amount of sales for that.
Where is the cheapest place to buy this? Has anyone compared it to the cheap eBay knockoffs?

Im thinking about buying this:
http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/csr5hev4x-bk.htm
but before I do, has anyone bought one ? thoughts ?
why spend 69.95 for the 3500 that already comes with extended battery cover, then spend another 29.95 for another cover?
It is a great battery. Been using mine now for a few weeks and have gotten so used to it I don't even notice the bulge anymore. I does make it easier to hold.
Most days now I end up with about 70% battery left. Having the battery power there to do what you want to is nice.
mine will arrive Thursday, looking forward to it

Probably in the thread about the 1750mah Slim Extended Life Battery?
First night with my new battery, and Seidio did not disappoint. Just like with my G1 and extended battery, I was able to go 12 hours of very heavy use. Internet/Games/Phone/Text/ and I watched Avatar in HD using my V-Moda Remix headphones, and streamed about 3 hours of Pandora. After all that I was still at 35% before I gave up and went to bed.
There is no doubt that with moderate to heavy usage this phone will last two days and with light usage a week.
Ok I'm gonna put my flame suit on for this one but I purchased the ebay battery rated at 3000 mah and I think the rear cover looks much better than the seidio one. I get approximately 2 days of use on it while running the baked snacks rom and I only payed $ 10 shipped. The battery never gets hot and the battery life is amazing. I will post up pictures if you guys want but to me the seidio is very expensive and looks really ugly. It's just a bulge out of no where while the ebay one has a smoother transition.

No flaming here
I've been burned in the past by no-name gray market batteries and I sleep a little easier at night knowing I can hunt down the maker of this battery should it do the whole Holy Hand Grenade thing on me.
Seidio is much more likely to hold their quality control to a higher standard since they back the product with their name, whereas a no-name can sell you a 3000mAh battery that is really only a 1650 and they don't have to watch their name dragged through the mud.
Its really a personal preference, and its a very good thing that we both have the choice to put our money where we want.

Let us know how it works out! I may be ordering one myself once the paycheck comes in!
I wish it thin enough to use regular cover, but it sounds great.
Eek...for $10 i'd rather have the two batteries + charger deal that is on eBay. Although not having to rip off a case and change a battery is nice, having a monster phone with no known applicable cases is the downside for me.
If it's anything like the Mugen extended battery, I won't be complaining. The Mugen increases the thickness of the phone from 9mm to 12mm. Not a big deal considering how thin the phone already is.
When I get mine I'll be spraying the battery cover with Plasti Dip, as someone in another thread did with their spare purple battery cover. Why? Because I HATE the glossy black - it's a fingerprint magnet! Plus, it's nice to have the rubberized finish - helps keep it from slipping out of your hand!
I have a belt pouch that I use that is just begging for a fatter phone - I figure I should be in good shape with it.
The sun has shined on this dog's a$$ - the battery just came! I ordered on Friday and it arrived today from California. I'm impressed!
It's not pretty - the door is fat and piano black - but I bought this for function, not fashion!
It was about 60% charged when I got it. I am going to drain fully then give it a full charge and start from there.

Is that thing even pocketable? Yikes.
Yep still pocketable.. It may look huge in the pics, but in reality it's probably no larger than a G1 with one of those snap-on covers.
I'm using a belt pouch that I had as well that is made for an iPhone 3gs w/ case , fits in there nicely.
Just obtained mine as well today. Gave it a full charge and battery life has doubled for me. I can finally make it through a day of heavy multimedia/browser use without having to stop to recharge. Back is constructed well, not as cheap as my old G1 Seidio extended battery back. As far as thickness goes, it's still thinner than my old Seidio.

I'm sorry, but with that battery pack it looks like it should be a circus phone.. Doesnt look sexi at all.. I will keep the original
wow, thats looks like a g1 if I didn't know any better. I will pick one of these up just for times like this weekend when we went camping and had no where to charge up. Won't be using this for everyday use though, don't want to get laughed at by my employees who would have a field day with that.
Thanks OP for posting the pics.
Oh god, my eyes!
Seriously, that thing is HUGE. What kills me is that the battery is 2X the Samsung OEM, but it looks like it's more than twice as thick. I could deal with a bit of a bigger battery, say, expand the case to the point that the bottom hump is gone. I would think they could make at least a 2200mAh battery of that size.

The Fascinate's 2200mAh battery from the Samsung fits in the Vibrant. They just need to make a fitting back cover for the vibrant that will be compatible with it.
I just ordered the 3000 mAh battery from AccessoryGeeks. It looks like the same type as the one that you guys bought on Ebay. I hope to get it by the end of the week and I'll give you guys an update on how it works.

[MINI Review] OEM Moto Extended Battery 1930mAh

Well I decided to go pick up a Original 1930 mAh DROID X Motorola Extended battery. I USE my phones to the hilt, I sync everything, use everything, and take full advantage of all the features like you should when you have a device like these. All in all I am not a battery scrimper, I have a charger at home, one in the car, and a USB hanging out of my laptop everywhere. LOL. I have always hated the Tumor that sticks off the phone when you are using a EB's, but since you can barely Moto's EB is even in the phone I thought I would give it a shot.
Now to make this to the point..... When I put the battery in new it was at 30% I ran it down to the 5% warning and red blinking light. After a full charge from the Wall charger (Which only took 2 Hours BTW) I pulled it off and ran it "business as usual"... Calls (About 2 hour 20 mins worth), Browsing, Chat, Pics, Texts, Apps, Wifi on, Downloads, Played Rock band for awhile, Full sync to all 5 Gmail accounts, FaceBook every hour and Twitter the same. Plus a 1300mHz OC (Low Voltage) with out Screen off or battery low profiles (I thought that would be unfair). Here are the findings....
Total Time Unplugged: 14 Hours 34 Minutes
My setup is in my Sig but... basicly it is Rooted, I stripped ALL Bloat from the Stock ROM, and like I said before Droid OC to 1300 (Low Voltage), Also... GoTo Lockscreen
So now.... I can leave my chargers at home and plug in once overnight. I have to say, this is the best $50 to spend on the phone.
NOTE: This was only after the FIRST charge, after 3 complete charges I can only assume it will be better.
EDIT>>> For a comparison... Running the stock battery I would be at 20-30% by 12:00 (Noon) Easily
Screenies below.

One thing that is concerning to me is why does the first screen show your battery at 33oC? Were you charging at that time, though the icon doesn't seem to show that. I hardly get 28oC at 1.3ghz stress test while charging.

I have this battery too, and I use the standard battery door with it. It is a little snug, but it does fit. This avoids any excess bulk. I have used it this way for a few months now. I am running apex and overclocked to 1.3 and my battery life is great.
I've had this battery for quite a while now and I've found my battery dying A LOT faster than it used to haha. When I first got the battery, it was amazing, now.... not so much haha. Been doing charge cycles and clearing battery stats but it still remains bad haha. Still much better than the stock battery though haha.

Verizon and Motorola should give you a commission!
Due to your review, I went back to the Verizon store and bought the battery. Heck, the salesperson never told me that they even had this available, or I would have bought it with the phone!
I'm running it in an Otterbox Defender case, with the battery cover that came with the battery. So far no issues, but I'm getting much better battery life.
Thanks!
I'm going to the VZW store today to get this battery, thanks for your great review!

Hey, I have an Otterbox Defender and I have been holding off on picking up one of these batteries. I really want the extended battery but I don't know how it would work with the case.
So the battery does come with an extra back plate for it? Have you tried the battery on it's own without a back plate and just using the Otterbox case and if so, how does it fair?
me too! just got it today!
The battery comes with its own battery cover. It didn't feel thinner, but a bit heavier. I'm guessing it's a heatsink.
I put the battery in, put the cover on, and put the Otterbox case on. It was a tighter fit, I had to be a little careful in ensuring that the two halves of the otterbox case locked together. But it's together and I didn't have to modify anything. I've been using it ever since, and haven't had any problems. And I *love* the extra battery life! I routinely have 40% left at the end of the day, and I'm a pretty avid user. I have an Exchange account on push, gmail on push, and use google voice constantly.

hello xda, please don't mind my lack of capitalization...my shift keys are currently not functioning lol at any rate...
i purchased an official t-mobile powerskin about a week back from a some site, and i just received it this morning. although the official price marked on the box is 54.00 dollars, i managed to buy mine new for 15.00 so i am pretty happy, so i thought it was a safe gamble. i will provide my opinion of this accessory and rating based on a few different categories, and supplement my review with pictures as well.

the case itself is covered in a gel like covering, similar to many gel cases sold by t-mobile for the vibrant. although the powerskin does seem durable and is thicker than the typical gel casing, i am not too positive that the case itself will provide amazing protection if dropped from a high place such as a table. it will certainly provide some protection, but since the phone slips into the case and the case does not wrap around the phone, it seems likely that if the phone is dropped, that it will fall out of the case upon impact.
thickness [7/10]
the added thickness to the vibrant is not outstanding, it only gains about twice the thickness that it normally would have without the powerskin. in terms of width, the phone only gains about 1/4 of an inch and about an inch to its height. with this added mass, the powerskin makes the phone feel a little more bulky, but nothing significant. all in all, it feels similiar as holding an iphone4.
baterry [10/10]
the powerskin performs as advertised, effectively doubling the life of the vibrant. the back of the case has a small button below the power level indicator lights, that enables the user to turn on the powerskins charging feature when needed, or turn it off when one wishes to run off the phones built in battery.
instructions [6/10]
the instructions are nothing more than a few pictures, so they leave much to be desired, however the case itself is easy enough to figure out, and thus does not require too much explanation.
weight [5/10]
the weight added to the phone is about what it expected, a little more than a battery itself. the added weight does about double the normal weight of the phone, and thus is quite noticeable, and does take some getting use to. but all in all, its to be expected.
overall [6/10]
all in all the powerskin performs as advertised, without added too much more bulk to the phone itself. the weight added is a little downer, but you take what you get for double the battery life. protection wise, the skin will allow for minimal protection against falls and allow one to drop a phone from a high height and receive minimal damage without totally neutralizing the blow. i wish that the skin wrapped around the phone a little better sine the fit doesn't seem to be perfect, but again, i suppose you cannot have your cake and eat it too
now for some pictures --

Nice!
I just ordered 2 of these (one for my fiance) off of Ebay for 12.99 Buy it Now, free shipping from New York. It says refurbished, but I've never had problems using refurbished electronics before, and at that price, I'll take the risk.
I'll give my feedback once I receive and use it.

I'll be waiting for that feedback on that ebay purchase. I saw 12.99 used and 16.99 new, I'm wondering if its to good to be true. In the official thread it seems like there is a revised version. I guess at 13 bucks its not to much of a gamble. Let me know.
the only issue ive noticed over the week or so that ive been using the case is this...that the case likes to turn itself on when it realizes that the battery is being consumed by use...this isnt that bad, however it does not turn itself off when you standby lol which is just wasting the charge. thus i suggest getting some sort of battery monitoring widget that clearly tells you if and when the phone is plugged in, so that you can shut off the case if it happeneds to turn on. once you notice that its on, and you turn it off, it tends to stay off until the battery gets to about 70ish before deciding to recharge the phone battery.
all in all, nice if you can get it for under twenty, which isnt hard.
OK so I received the two Powerskins today. I have the same issue with it turning itself on sometimes... but all an all its definitely worth the 12.99.
It adds more bulk to the phone than I thought... but its excellent for traveling and is a huge convienience.

You guys finally figured out about this...I posted this in June...

I think most of us knew about something like this for a long time. I didn't realize they were so affordable though.
Doesn't Samsung make a much nicer one for the I9000 and sell it in Europe? I think that's what a saw months ago, and it was much more expensive...
I agree, it did add more bulk than i imagined it would...but all in all, its not that much worse. although i wish it didn't turn itself on at random times, the inconvenience is outweighed by the usefulness I believe. Im a heavy user, and am running cm7 nightly build 85 with glitch kernel v12 beta and my battery consumption is immense at times, since using the powerskin, ive noticed that I can use my phone for much longer without needing to charge.
And ive known about this for awhile, but i was waiting for a good deal lol 15>54 haha

I believe you're right. I was debating getting.that one but the price was a good deterrent lol
So I ordered mine on Friday and got it today (Wednesday). I got one of the $12.99 used ones from ebay. So my thoughts on it are mixed, before I was using.a CS 3000mAh battery and it actually lasted me the night at work, I work a 10 hour shift and have music playing on my vibrant for around 8 of them, i'm in and out of a cooler all night and the basement of the casino (I live in Vegas) so I lose my signal constantly and my phone always searching and reconnecting (also I send dozens of texts and very heavy data/Web use), so I need extended life. Now the old extended buttery added some weight and size increase too but the power skin makes the phone feel huge. It's nice to have some protection on it though. On top of the extended battery I always used a belt case (no pocket space for my phone) but with the power skin it no longer fits. One concern I have and can't test till I get back to work is that the case sticks out over the headphone jack kinda far and i'm not sure they will plug in correctly.
Overall the power skin does it's job but i'm glad I only paid $12.99, if I paid the $54.99 box price I would have been pissed...
I'm going to try and use it for a while, but I have a feeling I'll be going back to the regular extended battery.

Phone with extended back cover, compared with TPU case:
Front and back of phone, with extended battery cover on. The cover is quite solid and fits flush with the phone. The build quality is very good, quite similar to the stock back cover IMO.
As far as the performance goes, I'm pretty happy so far. After I got it, I charged it completely, and then started using it. Here is my usage graph so far. I accidentally left TuneIn Radio running in the background overnight, hence the big "awake" section. Even after 16 hours of some decently heavy use, I've still got 34% left. And this is on the very first charge, before any calibration has been done. The stock battery definitely could not last through this much use on one charge.
I Justin ordered mine

Update:
Here's the battery life on the second charge.
The vertical line in the middle is from when I shut off the phone to flash a new nightly.
but does the phone feel so clunky now does it bother you

The phone is a few mm thicker now, but it is still comfortable to hold and does not bother me at all. The increase in battery life is very significant.
Ordered mine from Amazon yesterday. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
Thank you for the review and pics, very helpful!
I am debating to order one for myself or not. I am wondering if anyone knows about these batteries if they have all the stuff built-in to stop charging once the battery is full and something to turn them off if they overheat. I know all OEM/expensive batteries come with all those things included in the battery. I know on Atrix forums on xda or some other forum I was reading on, someone opened them up and tested and a lot of cheap China batteries were missing the features of stopping when the charge is full and turn off when heated and all that.
Just wondering if this is a well known and recognized brand so it won't blow my phone or mess it up. Any info on that part? It seems like other people who bought this brand for their phones are quite happy. Now that you've had yours for almost 5 days, what do you think? Has the life of battery gotten better with more use?
Thank you once again.
I received mine yesterday, and that night put it on the initial 12 hour charge. Started at 40%, and after around eight hours, it said battery full, and gave me the popup notification. (I have a slow charger) Battery did not overheat, either.
EDIT:
The build of the back cover is very good. OEM quality, IMO.
Just ordered it Can't wait!
Does this company have any plans for a case to accompany the bulky cover? I really like having a case on my phone, but if I go with this battery and cover then I wouldn't have that option.

Just buy a new cover if you scratch it. For $15 with an extended battery included, it's quite cheap.
I'm using an invisible shield on my screen to protect it, but leaving the back cover exposed since it's so cheap to replace.
I just got it in and it feels bulky but doesn't look bad. I was tired of my phone dying in 6 hrs so I hope this can last me all day I'll update as soon as I try it out.

I CANNOT for the life of me get the new back cover off. Other then that, its really good.
Also, anyone else know how to get it off? Lol

ordered mine off ebay 17.99 free shipping
In order to get the back cover off, I have to start at the bottom, and run my (nearly non-existent) fingernail up the sides of the phone, alternating until it clips off.

This is how I take the stock LG cover off. Seems like the only good way.
