Is the screen of GN really annoying when the brightness is set to low, is it normal? Its like theres stripes on it. But on full brightness no problem at all. The only problem is battery

Yes, it is how the screen is.

Hey all!
I've noticed that when my screen is a bit dimmer and I'm viewing whites like on Facebook or even in the xda app the coloring seems "dirty" and it isn't a clear white. Does anyone else notice this too? Is this expected?

I have noticed this as well and keep my brightness manually at about 35% to prevent it. From what I understand it is normal for this screen technology to display whites like that when the screen brightness is low.

OK, so ever since I've been using the stock ROM for jellybean, I've been noticing a burn-in on the screen when I view media, play games, or anything that hides the two. I've never seen this happen on any other Android OS. I was wondering if maybe you guys had the sane problem and some way to fix it because its getting really annoying. I was thinking about it and maybe its because of the new Project Butter and how the display updates a lot and since the status bar and Nav bar never really change their position on the screen it would cause a burn in. So, I was wondering if you guys have a fix for this? Thanks in advance

There are so many threads on burn in I am not sure where to start...
Some people have experienced what you are calling burn in and others like me have not noticed it at all. You could try getting a screen wipe app and see if that clears it up.

I don't see burn in but I see a bluish tint in the browser where the notification bar would be.

Yeahhhh that's exactly what I'm talking about. Is there any way to fix it?

Meh doesn't bother me, its not that bad. Earlier phones like the nexus one had worse looking burn in.

I've had my nexus since February and have a blueish tint on the bottom half of the screen from the keyboard. Its only noticeable in low light when the screen brightness is turned down low.

thats burnin from nav bar and status bar.
Hide your top and bottom bars fellas, that's what I do.
In the browser I hide the notification screen, but the nav bar I don't.

Noticed yesterday. At the top of the screen where the status bar is and at the bottom where buttons are.
Turned on film on Netflix and noticed blueish tint in those places.
Does anyone else is having this as well ?
Is there NY way of stopping it ?

as far as i know the Gnex screen is an amoled screen not LCD. i didn't think amoled's could suffer from burn. don't quote me on it
AMOLED screens can get burn-in faster than LCDs... I rotate the screen and use it in landscape mode very often, to avoid such problems... It is good to use lower brightness too...

I use LMT Launcher and hide the navbar
but still have the same problem at the status bar
wow, i looked it up and yeah, it's the opposite of what i thought. here i was thinking amoled was better than lcd. i'm pretty shocked
Yes, eventually you wil see a burn-in effect on the navbar and status bar if you rotate the phone to landscape. I see it on my 9 months old gnex. Doesn't bother me enough to consider it an issue.

I've heard if you put an image on the screen that is just a blank white photo it will take the burn out. I'm not sure but I've heard it before

Even if that works, the burn in would soon return because the position of the navbar and status bar are on the same spot 95% of the time.

This is why I hide top and bottom bars. Amoled burns in very easily.

Would anyone know if the Samsung warranty covers this?
Screw hiding it, had enough of that in my nexus one days. I see a bit of blueish tint, nothing too drastic.

I very much doubt warranty covers a vaguely noticeable burn-in effect, that only shows if the phone is rotated in certain views with certain backgrounds.

Swype'ed on my CM10 Galaxy Nexus
My screen looks so distorted on auto brightness. From about 1 in from bottom it fades whitish purple...? Everything has a purple haze. Very weird plz help. I'm running the stock ROM its been this way since I got the phone. Will adjusting colors and running AOKP fix the problem is it just the settings on this refurb phone or is the screen bad?
