id recommend a tight fitting armband that does NOT allow your phone to move. the excess play inside of a fanny bag with be very disruptive and also the phone will bang into your body with every step.
I used something like this when I ran a couple half marathons.

i am not using an armband or anything like that, i am using just a regular bag to put my stuff but i am using a Bluetooth headset which works perfect at the GYM , if you are looking for something to use at the gym, i would recommend this
lg bluetooth stereo headset hbs-700

that's a nice bt
Go with a blue tooth headset... Then you can simply put the phone in a Ziploc bag, drop it into your pocket and run to your heart's content
Ghetto but works great for me. When I cycle I do the same but put the phone in the jersey pocket or on the camel back if I'm wearing it.
Can still use the touch screen through the baggie and the phone stays dry. Cheap and efficient!
Using tapatalk on my Galaxy 2 to post this!
lol never thought about zip lock bag I'll use it when it's gloomy. thanks!

found a really good car mount for the xoom from Amazon ; well built, super stable, strong suction, easy to take off.
i drive a 08 subaru wrx so u know the ride is harsh and bumpy. that being said the mount has never fallen off with the relatively, big and heavy xoom on it.
im also using the COPILOT nav app from the market. full gps and mapping without the use of data. Best 4 bux i ever invested.

Dude!! Be very careful with this thing, I bought this after your post, and I've had it for 20 mins and it's dropped my Xoom twice already. Don't mean to be like that, but unless you want your $600 tablet busted up, I would highly recommend you take caution with this thing. Great in theory, worthless in practice.

I think here in Wisc I'd get pulled over with that. It looks to obstruct the view of the road just a bit too much.
And in my Jeep I'd have no luck of getting it that close to the dash.
Cool find though! I still gotta get some metal and make me my mount lol

I would keep an eye on that suction cup too. I had a mount like that for my phone that used the exact same arm and after a couple of months the cup wouldn't stick to the windshield anymore. The lever on the suction cup broke and wouldn't keep the rubber against the window. It couldn't handle the pressure on it and that was only a phone being held up.

Ill keep an eye on it thanks. I take mines in and out of my windshield about twice a day (keeps those thieves away) and haven't noticed a change in suction. Since the Cali summer heat is approaching I would like to see how well this thing holds up.

I got mine in the mail today. I drove around for an hour with it and am satisfied. I have a scion TC with tein coilovers, so the ride is anything but smooth, and the mount holds up well. It jiggles some from the weight of the xoom so I find it helps to mount it low on the windshield and let the device rest partly on the dash to help support it. My cars windshield has an odd angle to it so the mounting process is a tad awkward but once you get it on it definitely stays there. Also noting the mount works with the incipio silicrylic case.

For those that don't want to have to go to another thread:
Armband for E4GT that you can use a case with as well.
I was about to order this one myself.
Complete On The Go Smart Kit
I don't know about those arm band things .
I would think they get in your way of lifting .and blood flow .

I fully support this armbelt: http://www.amazon.com/Armband-Otter...1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1330538858&sr=1-1
It will fit your E4GT with the TPU case on and it doesn't wiggle. If you WANT it to wiggle, get the bigger model AB85.

but on that arm belt do you have to take out the phone everytime you want to change the song on the phone ?
Nope, you can control the phone directly inside the case. Touchscreen works fine too (I have a screen protector on as well).
I cycle and like to chuck my phone in my jersey's pocket so I can log my rides with GPS.
The problem is that the pocket is in the lower back of the jersey (for those of you not familiar with cycling Jerseys) it can get pretty sweaty as its sheltered from the wind... especially in the summer.
So I need a good quality waterproof pouch to slip it into - any recommendations?

There was a video review someone did here where they tested one and he dunked it into a container full of water and it was working well. I forget the person though and the product name.

Tried it! They are a fiddle and don't add any protection to the phone really. I'd be more comfortable with a thicker pouch that's designed to last.

There's a few on eBay. I can see why a belt clip would be useful - small pockets would be one for starters. I personally would use one at work because our medical scrubs have very baggy pockets - my current phone has fallen out of them many many times - and I do not want this to happen to my SGNII when I finally get it (come on 32GB) - I wear an equally "unfashionable" belt bag (or "bum bag") UNDER my scrubs to carry the important things I need (wallet etc), many of us already use a belt clip which fits nicely over the cord that ties the scrubs. Others use a man bag - I think a belt clip looks better than this solution.
Some people will comment and say that they are unfashionable or out of date but sometimes people need things because they work for them. One of my friends at work has a SGNI and the number of times that he gets the comments "my god that looks like a 1980's phone" is more than I can remember (of course then he shows them the phone and shuts them well up!)
The second reason to use a belt mount would be that there is no way on earth you're going to get the SGNII out of a front pocket whilst sitting and I'd never put it in a rear pocket.
I've not found a slim solution yet, but give it time and I'm sure one will arrive - this phone seems to be even more popular than the SGNI (judging from what my local retailers have said) so once it hits the USA I'm sure case manufacturers will take some notice.
Just a heads up for those that did the Samsung free flip cover and tectile offer, you should be getting them soon or have already received them. I received mine yesterday. not even close to the 4 to 6 weeks they said it would take. :victory:

nope, NFC works with mine, both with the TecTiles and a file transfers to a Nexus 7.
Yup received mine over a week ago. Now just to add some clever NFC tag options.
So far thinking
1) at home when I walk in the door to turn WiFi ON, GPS OFF, sound profile on Max.
2) one for in the car, WiFi OFF, GPS ON, Bluetooth ON (Since it's illegal to drive with your phone to your ear in Oregon). And Start up Music player.
3) either in the pocket of motorcycle jacket or in the tank bag. Similar to car but w/out music player.
4) Next to the bed on night stand Do not disturb feature ON, Power Saver Mode ON, screen brightness 25%, and something to make saute alarms are triggered.
Anyone have any good ideas?
Also I'd you don't run NFC or run out of tags or your rocking a case on your phone that day that interrupts your NFC field. There is another great app that does all the same type of stuff, triggers and all via GPS. The app is called automateit which can be found in the play store for free. I previously used it for triggering WiFi ON when I come within 200 ft. Of my residence. Also to trigger it OFF once I leave my house.
Check it out there are a ton of triggers then you also have the option to create your own custom triggers. There's also a community behind the app with support and ideas again that's Automateit.
Any one with good NFC ideas please post them up!
