Haven't seen this posted anywhere except for on a custom rom but is there any way to add open SMS as an option on lock screen, maybe between the camera and unlock? I'm running stock rooted with a few flashed mods and would love to know if someone has done this or if its even possible without flashing a custom rom. Thanks

There were like three threads on this in the past day. The only way is to use widgetlocker

Hi,
I've been trying out different custom roms for my T Mobile S2, thanks to XDA.
After messing around for a while, I decided to go back to the stock rom, but keep it rooted.
The one feature that I miss is the quick panel toggles in custom roms.
I was wondering if anyone could help me mod/install the quick panel toggles in my S2.
I'm running the stock ICS rom, its rooted and has CWM.
I tried searching, but couldn't find anything specific to T Mobile S2. It would be awesome if I can get this toggle feature alone!
Thanks!
Which roms did you try? There are a few that have the quick toggles that have a very stock yet performance upgraded feel.. As far as modding the toggles to work with stock I don't know..

I tried darkside's rom. It was good, but I faced frequent app hangs. So I thought of waiting for the next releases of the rom and reverting to stock for the time being.
After reverting to stock rom, the one feature that I'm really missing at this point is the quick toggle. And I didnt feel any performance difference also.
Just checking to see if an apk or a flashable zip is available for this...
You should give aokp a shot.. You'll curse the word so keep after you've tried it

The toggle .zip is a bit further down on the development list i myself give instructions for your exact wish.

Anyone got the circle battery mod working on the Nexus 7 yet? I'm miss knowing my battery % at all times.
Thanks!

Have you tried this widget app?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.hubalek.android.reborn.beta
No need to flash mods and face the associated risks etc, it just runs and displays the battery percentage in your notification bar at the top.
An additional nice touch is that you get a notification in the drop down with also allows you to use the JB notification drag feature to show a battery usage graph.

Simi widget does the job nicely IMO.
I use Power Controls from the market and you can have its notification icon show as a circle battery. This doesn't replace the standard icon, though.

I tried to change it using ROM Toolbox and completely hosed up system had to use tutorial on getting back to stock , redo unlock and root....scared to try another although it was kinda fun jackimg it up bad and trying out the tutorial... hehe

Same app I use and like it a lot. Easy to use and displays lots of info.
There are several ROM's out that have done this already. Plus all the widgets users are saying.
But i am guessign you are wanting the Circle with stock rooted. .lol
I am going to try and make a % battery mod tomorrow.
Cheers

I tried with ROM Toolbox as well, same problem, ended up doing a nandroid restore of a backup I had taken hours earlier which worked just fine to bring back stock icon.

We should email JRummy, maybe he can fix the code so it doesn't bugger it all up, would be really nice to have the circular icon with individual percentage numbers up there.
EDIT: I infact just sent him an e-mail about it. We'll see what he comes back with.

Got a replay from JRummy, he says I'm stupid (okay, he didn't say that, he didn't even say anything even remotely close to derogatory) but basically explained that to use the modding function in his ROM Toolbox (for the battery icons) we should have a deodexed ROM.
I had to go look that up cause I don't know anything about odexing/deodexing.
This guy seems to have made a deodexed version of JB 4.1.1 for our Nexus, pre-rooted and whatnot. I'm considering flashing that and then trying the ROM Toolbox thingy but I'm feeling super lazy at the moment so if someone beats me to it... please post your results.
Deodexed 4.1.1: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1802125
Oh and if you want to deodex your own Nexus 7, I'm assuming this guide will work? But seriously I just got off a 12 hour overnight shift and didn't read the thread completely so if you break your Nexus by trying this, don't blame me: http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x-themes/4620-how-manually-deodex-your-phone.html

Funny thing, you did exactly what I did, even down to the 2:00am in the morning part. Normally I always backup my stuff but I thought "eh it's just a battery mod." Plus, I had backed up my systemui & framework-res using ROM Toolbox, not realizing that you need a damned menu button to restore them (obviously if you bork your systemui, there goes your menu button). I fixed it by flashing that deodexed ROM you guys are talking about.
I was running a deodexed stock rom, so I thought I would give it a try flashing a mod with rom toolbox.
I made a Cwm backup of my rom, backed up my system ui and framework apk.
Installed the mod, and system ui crashed.
Now I thought I would be able to restore my Cwm backup.
But then it turns out that my Cwm backup was corrupted, so I then had to reinstall the stock rom.
But I did not have any tb backups to restore my apps, so then I had to reinstall all my apps too.
So I am fully pissed off.
Has anyone got a circle battery mod working on the n7 with rom toolbox?
Cheers Corey

Hey whats up everyone. First off let me mention that I'm not a developer by any means, so please don't start flaming. I simply want to share my small little creation -- A stock touchwiz rom (I mean stock everything -- Kernel, Baseband, etc), but with as much pure google-ness as possible, all while maintaining stability and functionality.
Rom
Official Stock 4.1.1. JB (Rooted)
De-bloated both T-Mobile (even Carrier IQ) and Samsung stuff.
Theme
ICS Blue Status bar with G, E, H, and H+ Signal icons
ICS Blue Status bard Toggles (Wi-Fi, GPS, etc)
ICS Blue Phone Dial Pad
ICS Blue themed stock MMS
4.2 Contacts Icons
Nexus 4 .apks
Nexus 4 Calculator
Nexus 4 Google Calendar
Nexus 4 Gmail 4.2 with pinch-zoom function
Nexus 4 Keyboard w/ Swype function & Emoji
Nexus 4 GTalk
Nexus 4 Jellybean Launcher
Nexus 4 Alarms, Notifcations, and Ringtones
Nexus 4 Clock
Nexus 4 Google News and Weather
Injected .apks
Google Wallet w/ NFC Fix for JB Touchwiz Roms. (Must follow these **simple** instructions to get this to work! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1769083)
DSP Manager from CM10
Touchwiz Apps
Camera (Because 4.2 camera with photosphere is not 100% operational and FC's -- whether it be because of the gallery, auto focus, or flash)
Gallery (Goes hand in hand with the TW Camera)
MMS (Because 4.2 MMS, you can't edit your own photo contact, but everyone else's you can. Not a big deal but again -- 100% stability is the goal)
S-Memo (Just cause I draw stuff, but you can delete it from "systems/app" folder if you want.)
Video Player (Because the Picture-in-Picture feature is nice to have)
So yea. Everything is fully functional, and whatever was not, was not installed. Wi-Fi calling works as well. Anything you feel like adding to it, go for it. This is just my build, the way I like it. I hope you all enjoy.
For more "Buttery" Smoothness, set all animation scales in the Developers Section in your settings menu to 0.5. :good:
As always, do the following
Make a Backup
Wipe Data and Cache
To install, you must place this Backup into your CWM Recovery Folder, and Restore from there. Thats it!
DOWNLOAD HERE

Looks good bud! Thanks
Will try later. Any known bugs ?
I am on TWRP
@OP:
1. That is one big file...
2. We appreciate your effort, and it definitely does look like a great ROM to flash and try out, but next time, as tempting as it seems sometimes, please give us a ROM file to flash instead of uploading a nandroid backup and telling us to restore from recovery.
Ive been waiting for a rom like this, but im on twrp, i think if nandroid this cwm nandroid it would brick my phone right?

You cant use CWM backups on TWRP. They have different ways to backup and restore.
You can't download from the phone the slider on the download page won't move.

Hey everyone. Sorry for the late response. Busy at work. But yea. To be honest, I don't know how to make it into a zip to you all can install it from Recovery, rather than restoring the image itself.
If someone can guide me to the right path, maybe a webpage or how-to, I'd gladly do what I can to change up the method of installation. thanks again !

He's running a rom with the xperiaZ lock screen. Wants to know how to return it to stock. Get a new keyboard, bro. The one you are using sucks.
You can't without knowing how to do some serious code or use an app in the play store. Might be a flashable zip out there some where.

Yes, I know this is an alpha build. But why, exactly are the home screens 6x6 rather than the normal on this ROM. Its a great ROM, but this is bugging me. Not to mention everything on this alpha build is small. Does anyone know how to fix this? Maybe its just somewhere in the setting and I didn't see it. I've been flashing ROMs for years, and there's nothing like 4.4. I love it. I just don't like how everything is small I. This specific build. I looked at the nexus 5's home screen screenshots and it was 4x5 or 4x4. Not 6x6. Can I fix it or do I need to revert to my old 4.3.x rom until another 4.4 ROM comes out without the small sized everything?

I'm sorry if this is the wrong place, but I rarely actually post anything on XDA because I have no reason to actually post something. I just read. But I don't have enough yet to post this in the actual SlimKat post in the development forum.
Thnx.

I figured it out. For all of you who have the same problem: get a root browser -> open it-> open the system folder -> build.prop -> change ro.sf.lcd_density=240 to ro.sf.lcd_density=292
Hope that helps!

I believe its because the 4.4 contact and phone don't fully work with the nexus. That's what I was told, but the phone app is 4.4 so it doesn't make much since to me either. The contact app though is still 4.3 though.

i enjoy the roms that allow you to customize like that
