I need Help ASAP.
I have tried everything to get my EVo Un-Rooted.
I rooted using UnrEVOked, and Cyanogen 6.1.2
I also made a backup with NAND succesfully.
Here is my EVO on the HBoot screen:
supersonic EVt2-3 Ship S-On
HBoot 2.10.0001
MICROP-041f
Radio - 2.15.00.11.19

Everything is Great with it being rooted.
I need to unroot to retrun to Sprint.
I did the S-On with UnrEVOked SON - and my EVo says "supersonic EVt2-3 Ship S-On"
I have tried downloading the RUU's and running them, but get the error USB cable issue.
I have tried to rename the RUU's to the "PC36IMG.zip" and booting into the HBoot screen.
It sees it and attempts to load it. Then after a reboot nothing.
I have tried several PC36IMZG.zip file out there and i get the error... saying the file is older.
Do I need to install HCT Sync?
Before I posted I have read posts for the past 2 weeks. XDA, Cyanogen, AndroidForums, AndroidCentral, etc.
I read the rooting for dummies, and appartenly I need rooting for Retards.
So my question is...Can someone post a step by step for my scenario, and help me please?
A reminder, I do have the S-ON
What files do I need and in what order do I apply them. The megaupload files don't seem to work.
Or what RUU file do I need.
Do I need to install the HTC Sync?
Here is my EVO on the HBoot screen:

Since you are already S-ON, all you need to do is run a RUU or flash the correct PC36IMG.zip. If you choose to run a RUU, make sure you install HTC Sync first. If you choose to use a PC36IMG.zip, make sure to remove it, and any other rooting related file from your SD card before bringing it in to Sprint.
Here is the most current RUU.
Here it is in PC36IMG.zip form. (You can't just rename a RUU.exe to PC36IMG.zip)
Which RUU do I need to run? I found about 7 different ones.
The one I linked you to, perhaps?
It seems all the files are linked t megaupload. Is there a different place to get them?
Im on my phone right now so those are the only links ive got for you right now. Whats wrong with megaupload? The files are good.

I rooted my evo with revolutionary few weeks back
Now camera and camcorder on my phone are not working. I want to take it to sprint store. I tried to unroot using PC36IMG and also used RUU. No luck.
I tried several times to flash with PC36IMG
I still see S-OFF
Here are the specs of the phone
Revelutionary
S-OFF
HBOOT-6.16.1002
Radio-2.15.00.11.19
You help is much appreciated.
if it's a hardware problem they don't care if it's rooted

Why dont you try flashing a new rom to see if its just software related??

Thanks for the responses. I tried several times to flash new rom. It didn't worked.
Okay so I've got a bit of a problem. My EVO won't get past the "HTC Evo 4G" Screen when I turn it on. I figured I would just unroot it and re-root it to fix the problem, so I found a guide that said to flash the UnrEVOked Forever S-On tool and then flash PC36IMG to do that, so I flashed the unrevoked tool, I have S-On now, but the PC36IMG that I have won't flash, it just says "Can't open /sdcard/PC36IMG.zip (bad)" so I'm assuming I have the wrong one. I believe the one i have is
"PC36IMG_SuperSonic_S_Sprint_WWE_3.70.651.1_Radio_2.15.00.11.19_NV_1.90_release_161482_signed.zip"
which I thought was right because the radio number matches the one that is on my phone, but it won't work. I also tried the RUU with the same version, and that wouldn't work either.
My question is, is there some way I can get S-Off again through recovery and then just try flashing a different ROM to see if that fixes the problem? Or do I just have the wrong RUU/PC36IMG? Or am I SOL?
My Bootloader info is:
SUPERSONIC EVT2-3 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-2.10.0001
MICROP-041F
TOUCH PANEL-ATMEL224-16ab
RADIO-2.15.00.11.19
It was a ROM issue that prevented your phone from booting, not a root issue.
Re-root.

I'm still rooted, I just have s-on. Is there a way I can get s-off through the bootloader/recovery?

Yes - just flash unrEVOked forever.
P.S. The reason that PC36IMG wouldn't flash is because you don't flash it in recovery - it has to be renamed to PC36IMG.zip and flashed through the bootloader (HBOOT).
I've been having a lot of trouble unrooting my HTC Evo. I've worked through a lot of the methods I've found posted but nothing has worked. I could really use some help.
The phone was rooted about a year ago. I rooted the phone, but never flashed a different version. It's been on the original rooted version since it was done.
I'm currently running Android 2.3.3
I've got Superuser installed with Clockwork Mod for Recovery
This is what I have done so far.
I downloaded the unrevoked S-On tool and ran it. It didn't work and or didn't change to S-on I tried it at least a dozen times and kept getting an error.
I then ran a different version of the radio because it was recommended and It Did Work.
I then tried Unrevoked S-On again and it still wouldn't work.
I then saw a thread that said to flash the PC36IMG and it would then change the S to On after I did it. I couldn't get the PC36IMG to flash I kept getting an error on that.
I've looked all over for a possible solution and haven't been able to find one. The phone is having some technical issues with the screen and I need to take it back in to Sprint to have it repaired or switched out. If someone could help me I really appreciate it. I don't know if I posted this in the right place, this is my first post.

I really could use some help. Let me know if you need any more information.
Thanks in advance for all your help,
Matt
Try this
I am on HBoot 2.18, so you may or may not have to do this. I was on Decksreloaded and could not unroot to take the phone in to sprint. I had to flash a sence rom, follow the unroot instructions, then flash an unrooted stock rom. It would not work with decks on the phone. Not sure why that mattered, but it did.
It worked. Thanks for all your help!
Thanks for all your help!
I have 2 Evo 4Gs. They have identical problems with bootlooping and no recovery found. I can go into hboot and fastboot. I have tried PC36IMG but none of my phones recognize the file(it is in the root of sd). I have tried RUU, one of my phones passed it but still bootlooping and the second one failed(error about bootloader). Need help to bring it back to stock.
I have dealt with samsung phones and moto phones but never with HTC. I tried to research the fix but no useful info could be found. I have the only hope, XDA EVO community.
Any help would be appreciated.
Take em to sprint. That's the easiest way.

They'll probably replace it or get you a new phone.

I think you need to post more info such as what is your hboot version, baseband version, software version, android version, what PC36IMG file you tried to use,
etc, etc.
Perhaps post what is says on your hboot screen

It loaded everything but did not work.
Dumb question, but, is phone #1 even rooted? It doesn't sound like it is. Reason I ask is because the bootloader shows that it's locked, which means you won't be able to load a PC36IMG (or anything else) until the bootloader is unlocked. Since you can't load a recovery, you won't be able to flash the su binary to root the phone. My other thought is that somebody tried to un-root phone #1 and botched the job, which is why you're where you are at now.

Thank you for clarification. How about the second phone? It seems like it is rooted but still the same pc36img would not load.
Can you post the Hboot info for phone #2, just like you did with phone #1?

The download will be done in 2 mins. I will give it a try.
I just tried RUU everything completed and it said that it was successful after the phone power cycled. It started to loop again.
Same deal as phone #1, I'm guessing. I'm going to say it's not rooted, either. As far as how to fix them, however, I'm at a loss as to what to tell you. Hopefully somebody else with more experience will chime in with a solution.

I don't think it'll work since the bootloader for both phones appears to be locked. I know in the stock EVO recovery that there is a way to install an update, but I'm not sure if it works the same way as a custom recovery works by flashing a zip file

Are you renaming it correctly? PC36IMG.zip. No extra .zip at the end--windows hides file extenstions...
And on sd card --not in any folder? just on the root (top level) of card?
