Canadian Users - OEM + Extended batteries at The Source - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Just to give every one a heads up if you live in (or are traveling in ) Canada The Source now has the standard OEM battery for sale! They are selling out fast though! I had to order mine as the last one was sold minutes before I got there. They also said the Extended batteries are available for order. ETA is 4 - 6 Weeks if you order.

How much are they selling the oem standard battery and 'extended' battery for?

Also do you know if they are selling the extended battery back cover? Kind of pointless to buy from them if they don't.

The extended do come with a cover At least that's what their rep told me (They didn't have them at my store I had to order it).

It's faster and cheaper ordering the extended battery + cover via Gmarket in Korea.

This is true. But for people who can't order online

Sorry about the bump but wanted let users know that I got the battery and it looks like the Source has some issues with the system. The battery is NOT a Nexus Battery but for some other phone. It is too small for the Nexus. They didn't know what happened, probably some system glitch or over zealous staff member.

I've bought an extra OEM standard battery it cost me just less than USD 13, I dont use it just lying around, even the one that comes with the phone as a spare i dont even have a chance to us it, i'm using the extended battery and cover.

I have read that before..are really that good ?
Whats the different between a 1550 mAh Mugen Power battery for 30$ and a random 1550 mAh battery from eBay for 10$?
some ebay sellers sells unbranded or fake batteries (would say 1800mah but is actually 1300 etc..), usually with no return/exchange policies specially the cheap ones like 3 pcs for 10$.
mugen pretty much you get what you pay for.
Man that's nice
I don't have issues with the stuff I got from them. I saw on their facebook page that they change the batteries if they're working...which is good and they have 1 year warranty on stuff. So far I'm going with them. Got 2 days on average usage on my Nexus
looks like I found the answer to my question. will check them out, thanks!

Personally for me the big difference is their brand presence across all available customer service channels (twitter, facebook, email, phone etc...) and high quality. I'm using my 4th battery from Mugen at the moment and totally happy with it and with their service.
Also I received a reply from their rep that actually makes sense - they say that their price allows them to give all the listed services to the customers, and it is simply not possible to make a good battery for 10$ using top technology and aftersales support.
Anyways, there's many info here about them, you can research a little.
While it would be nice to have an extended battery, I wouldn't want to make that change because it would make my phone heavier and clunkier with the extended battery backdoor. Another big downside is that my case wouldn't fit anymore. To solve my own battery-life issues I keep a Duracell Powerhouse with me when I know that I'm going to need extra juice.

You can always choose a slim extended battery that fits your original phone socket and does not require an extra back.

I have heard that the "extended batteries" that are the same size as stock are counterfeit in the sense that they don't actually offer more capacity. Lots of scams and shady companies around extended batteries...
It's 'Moogin' baby. Seriously, this is just a name tag being placed on the battery. It looks too ugly for me to put it on my Skyrocket.
will check them out, thanks!
Mugen Power batteries are great if you can afford the entrance fee. Yeah, it's not some cheap knockoff from Ebay, but the quality and battery life is worth it. I recommend them. Here's a review I did of the extended batteries on the T-Mobile G2 if anyone's interested

Plus one for Mugen from my side. I've been recommending them for quite a long time now. Some experience to share: ordered a battery from them a month ago and nothing got delivered. I contacted them on facebook, and it turned out that the post lost my parcel...I was a little nervous cuz there was more than 150$ in it, but Mugen replaced all of it in a matter of days. Not just great batteries but awesome support as well.
Very good battery. Works flawlessly.

Battery for HSPA+ version of the Galaxy Nexus

So, anyone know where I can get the official battery, preferably one that comes with the battery charger? Regular and extended applies to the question.
Bumping this to see if anyone has any updated information on it.
alot of the galaxy nexus batteries on ebay seem to originate in Hong Kong. since I will be going there next week, i'll be on a lookout for both official as well as non official batteries
(i feel like the difference between the official and nonofficial batteries is just the Samsung logo slapped on. I feel that the all the cases and batteries on ebay all originated from the same factory as casemate cases and other batteries etc etc.)

Don't forget that the battery needs to have an NFC antenna for NFC/Beam to work as well.
Found some good news, or what seems to be good news. I have found the official(seller claims) extended battery for sale on ebay, here's the link:

Now, before we all get excited, I am not sure of this comes with the extended battery cover. Currently inquiring the seller about it and awaiting for some good news.

Well, I would assume they would be? I mean, chances are pretty high anyway because the seller is from Korea and from what I know, only the Korean market has the extended battery for the GN. I'm just hoping that they come with the back cover so I don't have to hunt for one.

For those who are desperate enough, they can try duct tape? lol
does anyone now how much thicker this battery is?
since the back cover is pretty flexible, i think it can work if its less then 2mm.
i really need another battery since the 1750mah battery just gets me to home and work, and i need to recharge it sometimes @ home before going out again.
BUMP!!!
I NEED a extended battery for this GSM Nexus !!
Well I knew they would pop up soon! and also was thinking maybe you could use the original back cover too, since the sensation had an extended battery and you could squeeze it in with the regular back cover! I will keep searching!
Would be great if a korean could test it, try to fit the extended battery with the standard back cover.
I messaged a user on here that said they were from Korea. He said he'd look into it if there is somewhere that we can order the battery and cover. He mentioned that the cover for the battery just fills in the bump at the bottom of the phone so that it is more flush on the back.
He also mentioned that probably there aren't a lot of places to order(or at all) since the phones there come with the battery already.
Extended battery does not fit when used with the regular back. Pictures soon, currently at work.
As for availability, definitely give it a month or so. This phone and all related accessories are just flying of the shelves. I can't even find cases here, let alone extra batteries. I also heard from another user that the Galaxy Nexus is sold out in certain cities until 2012, so that's a pretty good indication as to how long it might be.

Anyone think that the GSM extended battery + Verizon back cover could be a winner? Or does the Verizon cover not fit at all on the GSM?

1X Gold 2850mah Battery for Samsung Galaxy S3 III

Anyone try one of these?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-1X-Gold...880555?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item4167e42a6b
Made in Japan
Capacity: 2850mAh
Utra-high capacity battery
I'm guessing they are not 2850mah, but given the higher spec they could be closer to 2400mah. Price is a bit more than $8 (2x the el chepo generic ones w/ 2300mah). Less in a bundle of 2-3 w/ charger.
Another seller is listing a similar looking battery with 2430mah but for $15. Maybe the cheaper ones are the rejects.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2430MAH-Hig...979491?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item1e6f290a63
Still no US sellers, so to be safe you could wait till a review or a US seller starts offering them (-> return if they aren't to spec). I took the plunge since I need some spare batteries and a charger.

+1 I always spend the extra cash to get a spare OEM battery. I understand people want to save money and for the most part those batteries arent bad but a lot of times they are not labeled correctly and arent the MaH's that they state they are and you are taking a chance. If you go with a cheap no name it's better to go with a better known no name like anker. But I dont think I would even put the battery you linked into my phone. Stop being cheap and just spend the 25-30 bucks for a OEM battery. After all it is a 600 phone. hehe Consider it like buying a Ferrari and putting cheap gas in it. haha

You need to know what your getting yourself into. Some give you 70-80% of an OEM one at 1/10th of the cost. I buy mine as a back-up when I can't charge (e.g. international air travel) or I'm in a rush. It is so convenient to have one of these in my bag and do a quick swap vs. charging. Been buying ebay batteries for years, some are crap, I normally buy 1-2 when I get my new phone for ~$10. Then wait for the US ones or a forum review where someone finds the correct seller who will give you 80-90% of an OEM at ~$5. The main downside is the lack of NFC, but I don't use that and if I needed it I would swap in the OEM battery.

It's all marketing. Chemically Gas is all the same and there is a standard for it.
Besides I don't have a $600 phone. I paid $220 (incl. tax). minus $120 from retention. minus $100 when I sell my (old free Vibrant). Psst, don't tell anyone, but I'm also doing 1% cashback and $xxx bonus for spending Y in 3 months. So technically I'm making money and should get another $100-150 in 2 years when I sell the S3. The extra batteries will increase it's resale value.
Call me a cheapskate.

Thank you. There is no way I would have found that thread.
I have both of them!
the 2430 mah is supposed to fit as standard OEM replacement, It a little too fat for standard cover, Have to push cover down hard, The 2850 mah is a replacement for the Samsung extended battery It fits extended case, but after testing both, neither one shows any improvement over stock batteries. I am running output and time tests on them both shortly....SAVE YOUR MONEY!

Replacement battery (Original with NFC)

Hi!
I was wondering where I could buy even more batteries for my Galaxy S3.

That is really cheap. I also am going to guess that it is not full on OEM. The one I ordered was a little different. It said Samsung, but it wasn't. I haven't tried NFC yet.

I can't see ebay links at work. I was just guessing you were buying from someone like who I purchased from. If it is OEM it has to have NFC. I would go with Anker if I didn't want NFC. They make the best Non-OEM batteries that I've used, although I've heard good things from Hyperion too.
Avoid fake chinese crap
I'm looking for a real samsung battery too, but I wouldn't trust any seller on ebay claiming them to be genuine. Most are from china, and I'd have to guess 99.9% of those would be copies. Amazon lists one as genuine for $25, which sounds about right. but again, I have no clue. Personally I'd like to see and buy one in a local B&M store. unless I knew for a fact I'd be buying a real samsung battery.
I tried a "4200mah" chinese battery, twice as thick, new bigger battery door, etc... CRAP CRAP CRAP. Doesn't even last AS LONG as the factory 2100mah thin battery :crying: JUNK JUNK JUNK.
Today I got 3 batteries from ebay - bought for a very cheap price, less than 15$ in total.
The battery didn't fit properly, I found it hard to get the battery back out. It also said that the battery had NFC, but no.
Seems like it wasn't even Samsung battery, which I tought it was until I saw the label they'd glue to the battery, all the batteries also shared the same S/N: AA1C505BS/2-B.
I haven't been able to test out the actual battery lifetime on the cheap batteries, since I won't be using them anyway because I wan't NFC capabilities.
Stay away from cheap batteries, best way to get a quality product is to actually put some more bucks into the product. Get the "real thing" that works the way it's supposed to do.

Extended (4200 - 4500 mAh) Galaxy S3 batteries with NFC in Europe?

Does anybody know of any decent (and not extra expensive) extended (from about 4200 to 4500 mAh) Galaxy S3 (9300) batteries with NFC in Europe? From what I have seen Hyperion-US models have good reviews but the sellers on Amazon do not ship in EU (I also believe that is a very different company than the Hyperion company doing some stuff for radio controlled models in EU). QCell do ship to EU but it gets kind of expensive with shipping and VAT - and given the not-so-stellar reviews (and the cost of shipping back if the battery is bad) I am undecided :crying:

Kinda OT, but did you ever consider getting a spare same sized battery? Anker 2300mah (no nfc) ones go for like <9dollars on ebay. Bought 2 of them, they last as much as, if not slightly longer than the stock 2200mah samsung batteries. Just chuck one of them into ur jeans pocket/wallet/backpack etc.

Well, no NFC means I don't get an original feature only since the manufacturer was lazy and did not include a 5-cent component
And having 2 separate batteries is not a bad idea but a lot of the convenience is lost.
Also having to remove your case all the time and your back battery cover..... More chance of breaking something there.

Yes, that can also be a factor - and with the large batteries you often get the free back cover so many mechanical problems are "moved" to that back
It could be possible that it some how patent related, that third party producers cant build an replacement battery with integrated NFC.
Hmm ...

I would be a little surprised if that was the case - the patent might cover the NFC part itself, which battery 'assemblers" normally would buy from a larger maker that probably holds some rights in regard to that part.
That being said - for the original purpose of this thread I would be just fine with a Hyperion NFC being sold in Europe at a decent price
