[Q] native file managing app? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Is there one for this phone? I am used to using the "my files" app that samsung provides on their other phone. Or do I have to go download one from the market?

Download Astro File Manager from the market.. awesome app.

The GN doesn't have a stock one. You will have to download one yourself.

Don't think it can do as much as the ones listed above, but it's good enough for my day-to-day demands.

[Q] A very Noobish Q: Is there a File Manager pre-installed on DHD

Without downloading one from the market
Thanks
really don't remember, but i don't think so...
That's very unusual! I just want to browse the contents of the SD card (or the phone memory if there is any) in order to install an apk file!
No file manager is included in stock roms, there are plenty free ones on the market though.

File explorer

Hello,
If I want to view files on the SD card, from the phone, can this be done from standard Android or do I have to get an app?
If need app suggestions would be welcome.
Thanks
Hi
In my opinion the best file explorer is ES File Explorer. Check in the market.

Best File Manager

Is there a file manager that allows you to modify files within a zip (like delete, copy, paste, etc.), and allows you to extract multiple zips at once? I've tried ES File Explorer and Solid Explorer but neither work.

Try File Manager by Rhythm Software from the Play Store and enable "multiple selections mode"

Multiple selection = batch operation? I don't see it that way, maybe you don't get what he means.
For example, Root Explorer can open zips, multi select files, but won't multi un-zip or process the files within a zip.
AFAIK there's no normal file manager that can do zip well. Try finding a dedicated zip app (e.g. AndroZip, though I don't know if it can fulfill your needs because I haven't used that for long)
