Is something different with dropbox on the Nexus vs S2?
I used to be able to hold on a picture in dropbox and export to the gallery on the S2 but on the Nexus it doesn't do anything, it looks like it does it but the pic won't be in my gallery.
Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks.

why wasnt it included? this gallery is way cooler than stock android or htc sense gallery
probably not the right place to ask, but I noticed that in 3d gallery you cannot share a photo through MMS, while in the regular Desire gallery you can. In 3d gallery, the share menu does not have as an option share through messaging. Is this true or is there something wrong with mine?
thanks!

Well I'm running CM6 on my Desire with 3D gallery and I can share via MMS from the gallery no problem
and also to OP: I don't know why they didn't include it but I don't see it as too much of a problem as it is easily installed

its because if htc includes it , its highly likely that it will work better , less buggy, and more responsive, can u post the file youre using?
its because the 3D Gallery is a nexus one app, not a htc app lol here is the apk you can install it normally, also this is the version called Gallery 3D not just gallery so it dosent clash with the native htc gallery app
Did anyone notice that the pictures you take when using instagram are much lower in resolution than the ones you take when using the stock camera?
Unticking the "advanced camera" option under instagram settings doesn't do much since you're gonna have to crop your picture again.
Any thoughts?

Yeah that's instagram for you, the pictures are resized to crap.
or taken in a lower resolution using their 'advanced' camera in part of the app.
Just the way it is.
That's just how Instagram works.

Images are always cropped down within instagram. Even the images you took with the stock camera you upload there. Just take a look into the instagram photo folder on your internal memory. They're all cropped down BADLY.
Thats just how Instagram works. Small images means less traffic and faster loading times. Thats why you cant watch images in full screen within the app either.
Thanks guys, I thought so.. this is getting annoying!

Damn, I wondered how they got the pictures to upload so fast!

Sorry for thread-jacking but is there any way to take pictures with Instagram and not have them uploaded? Many times I just want to make tests and it sucks that I cannot simply choose to save the files to a folder instead of uploading the pictures.
doe anyone else notice that instagram links do not open the instagram app on the HOX? For instance a tweet of the form instagr.am../asdhjd/ would give the option of opening with the instagram app on my SII but on my HOX it just gives the browser option..

Yes, just don't click upload... The pics will be saved in the instagram folder on SD

It does save the photo but it doesn´t apply the instagram effect. It also won´t let me choose the default folder or to set "never upload" as default.

Works for me. Take the photo, apply the effect(s), hit the arrows in the top right to take you to the tagging/upload screen, then just back out again. The processed photo (with effects) will be in the Instagram folder, the unprocessed photo will be in the normal camera photo folder.
Thanks. I didn´t realize it copied the photo with the effect to a different folder. All other photo apps I use automatically copy the photos to the android default photo folder.

Yea, it will copy the untouched photo to the normal photo folder, and the effect photo to the Instagram folder.

I much prefer to take pictures with the stock camera then use instagram to crop and upload, but thats just me.
yeah but wouldn't it be hard to judge how the photos should be taken because only the middle half of the photo will be cropped and uploaded onto instagram.
Hi guys, I heavily use the picasa sync feature of the stock gallery, I have about 5-6 albums there plus instant upload. I like to have all these folders synced in the stock gallery, which is y google photo sync is pretty important for me. But what pisses me off pretty bad is then I cant use the awesome camera features of cna/aokp/cm etc(I use camera zoom instead). I have tried searching for a suitable gallery replacement app on the market with native picasa sync but to no avail. Fish bowl seems quite nice but no picasa sync.I know, I might me missing something here....but any ideas? I really want to use all the camera features!!!!
Personally, I use Perfect Tool for Picasa, which has a gallery and lets you edit/share albums. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=larry.zou.colorfullife&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImxhcnJ5LnpvdS5jb2xvcmZ1bGxpZmUiXQ..
Also, Cool 3D Gallery should do the trick.

Ummmm.... I don't like perfect tool so much. Gallery3d looked like it would do the trick but when I try to install it ,says app cannot be found. Can someone please post the apk?

Has anyone had this issue below with their gallery. I cleared the cache and now my Google photos are not showing up. It's weird.
Also when uploading a photo into any app the gallery takes forever to load. Any helpful hints. Thanks.

So I have tried to find the answer with no luck. How do I switch my text app, Facebook, Instagram apps to use Google photos as the default instead of Samsung photo app?
It will use both, just add a shortcut to Google Photos on your homescreen where Samsung Gallery was and use that instead
That definitely didn't solve the problem. It's just using the Samsung photo gallery, and doesn't even give me the option to make Google photos as my default.

Try setting google photos as default app for photos will do.

I am having the same issue. There's no way to change the stock Gallery app to google photos. When I had my pixel, my apps would source directly from Google Photos, and I guess I was spoiled. Even if a photo wasn't downloaded and I selected it to send, it would forward it after it downloaded.
It's a pretty dumb situation honestly with this phone. Your text app you can use the Google photo app, but anything else like , IG or Facebook you have to go into Google photos app and download it to the phone so the picture you want to post goes into the stupid Samsung gallery. I bought the app that someone had suggested to disable the Samsung gallery app and it didn't work. Also when you disable the app, it effects other apps on the phone, so you are pretty much screwed. Besides the fingerprint scanner, I think this whole, not being able to just use the Google photo app as default for everything is the next biggest ****ty thing about this phone. I still love the phone, but you pay the big bucks and you still have to deal with issues like this, when phones half the price offer these two things better. Oh well I guess?
