I have set up a simple profile to turn on WiFi when I am near cell tower at my office and turn off when i leave that tower. I am running Mikg v 3.0. Would there be anything blocking it.

I've got similar profile and not having any problems. Could you be connecting to more than 1 tower, so your condition doesn't trigger?
It only sees one tower

Add a notification. See if the problem is the condition not triggering.
How do I do that
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
Under Task Options (where you turn on the wifi), click edit.
Add an Action Category
Under "Alert"
Select the "Notify" option
In the Title - type something like "Connected to Cell Tower"
Under the Icon section -press the button and select some icon.
With this set up - if it connects to the cell tower - it will put a notification in your status bar. If you have a notification, but not connecting to Wifi the problem is with the Wifi task option.
If you're in the area, but the notification doesn't pop up - the problem is with the Cell Tower identification. The condition isn't activating for some reason.
So, with the notification, we can identify where Tasker is not working.
I was able to get Tasker to turn on wifi but now I need to ne able to turn off when i leave home.

Add an exit task that turns off wifi. If you click on the settings, an option to add an exit task should pop up.

I have the Samsung Galaxy S2 X and I'm on 4.0.3 and certain apps like Poynt/Palmary Weather and some others cause my wifi to just drop and go to 4G, this never happened when I had my Incredible S?
My palmary works fine. Doesn't mess up the connection
I think i figured it out, when i did some internet searches it says that apartments that are heavy concrete or lots of metal plus phones plugged in too close to wireless modems can cause it so hopefully that's my issue?

System settings/wireless and networks/mobile networks/automatic connections... now uncheck sprint automatic connection
Is there a way to force LTE as the only network my phone connects to? I have the network app that worked in my EVO 4G LTE but it doesn't seem to work on my GS3

go to settings>more settings>mobile networks>click on network mode and select Lte/cdma

Rooted Evo dead.
Rooted Evo shift dead.

I know that setting but is it a way to put the GS3 into LTE only mode and not just LTE/CDMA

My wife is with Verizon and theirs works the same way. She's always like, why won't it just stay in 4g? Different beast than WiMax (not that that wouldn't drop out like a trap door sometimes.)

Yes, you can do this in the hidden Data Programming menu launched from the stock TouchWiz dialer. You will need to know your MSL code:
In the Dialer enter ##DATA#
On the Data Programming screen select Edit
Enter your MSL
Tap OK
Select Others
Select HDR/1X Selection
Select "LTE Only Mode"
Tap OK
There is a major downside to this: You will no longer have voice or text service, only LTE data service (where available).

Is there an app that will turn off the phone service like you have removed the sim but leave wifi and bluetooth on?
Airplane mode...turning airplane mode on will turn off everything but u just have to turn WiFi and Bluetooth on again and only your service wont work

No offense taken as this is really my first smart phone as I don't count my few months with a tracfone s390g becaust it is so crippled.
I knew about airplane mode but did not know I could turn on wifi and bluetooth and it would leave the service off. I figured turning on wifi would turn off airplane mode.

Just in case you wanted to do this the 'fun' way..
Open dialer and type *#*#4636#*#*
Select Phone Information
Scroll down and click Turn Radio Off
Of course, airplane mode works too, but who doesn't like a little back door action? (...that's what she said...)

On my previous phone I had an app called "Any Cut" that made it easy to put a shortcut on the home screen to get to Phone Info without having to go through the dialer; among other things, I used it for exactly this purpose. I can't find it in the Play Store any more, though. Anybody know of a current app with similar capabilities?
Basically the title, would there be a way to get a wifi calling quicksettings toggle in the notification bar? Some areas have a good signal so I don't need wifi callong, and others don't so I do. Would love to be able to toggle it on and off.

It's what I have set right now, but at home it will nine between 1 bar and wifi calling. Just somewhat of a hassle to go into settings to turn it on and off that's all.
