So does this have CWM embedded in the kernel like Koush's version that was posted on here (and which caused quite a few issues)? I'm just wondering how easy it would be to switch to other kernels/roms later if running with this rom.

Here's what you need to know. READ ALL OF THIS SECTION.
It's based on the XWJMF release.
It's tested on my Euro tab only.
In order to use, you must have installed my EXT4 Kernel (version r2) or above and completed the conversion to EXT4. The ROM does not include the kernel at this time.
The ROM must be installed via ClockworkMod recovery, which is automatically installed with the above kernel.
The ROM is optimised with the MCR build system.
The ROM is deodexed.
The ROM retains the stock Samsung certificates at this time, so a wipe should not be required.
The ROM has some Samsung crapware removed.
The ROM will grow rapidly in features from this point forward - this is the starting point!
Keyboard backlights, GPS, Gyros, Rotation etc. etc. - they all work.
Baseband XXJMA is the accompanying version for this ROM, but it *should* work with other basebands.
YOU INSTALL THIS ROM AT YOUR OWN RISK, make sure you take a backup with ClockworkMod first, and ensure you are familiar with using ODIN / Heimdall for recovery.

Hi modaco , for the ext4 coversion, we need only room for the system data ( < 1,5 GB ) or also for the data on the SD ?

I love this! It has been a somewhat lengthy and frustrating couple of months, but am loving the sight of people finally breaking through with beta ROM's. Premature no doubt, but the movement is on! Thanks paulobrien for bringing this out

Download the zip, extract the exe file and drag the file you want to check the MD5 for. It should display back the same as the ones Paul posted.

as far as I tested the kernel / rom everything looks fine BUT
if I turn off the device and plug it into the USB port, it shows the battery symbol and then freezes. after pluggin off and do the 5 second reset, everything went up fine.... any ideas?

Installing language pack in Swype

Hello, I've tried to download the LibSwypeCore.so and put in system/lib folder to get pt-br language into my phone, but it just wont recognize any library, neither potuguese nor english... How can i get PT-BR in my swype??

I'm running Darky's 9.3b3 and ever since I jumped on the Darky bandwagon, I've had to flash a separate Swype package everytime I wanted to upgrade the ROM to a newer version.
You might be able to find the language you're looking for following this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10208534&postcount=14303
You'll need Darky's ROM installed and a custom recovery to do this.

Yeah and are you sure this will work for him without a rom from Darky? Just having a custom recovery is enough?

and I even tried it on my STOCK rom, and after it swype was NOT there
If I didnt do backup before I would end up now without swype now. But then again I might have done something wrong

Actually i DO have darky 9.3

incase of any error there will be a boot loop so for a safty .... i have trien it in bass rom it booted so you can try it in any rom

UPDATE #3
Mostly working TEST rom up next wensday the latest!! I would have released it today but unfortunaley im at the hospital at the moment so yeah.
UPDATE #2:
Got android.process.acore away, but now i have a new fc: com.android.phone. Cant fix it now, because i am going on holiday for today and tomorrow(wensday and thursday). Will continue when i get back on friday.
Also I will release a test build next wensday the latest. But first i will provide the alpha test build to my beta tester.

will work on this tomorrow and thursday and the whole next week. Will update this thread when progress is made.

i understand but if you get boot did you try to change the libs from cm7 on your rom hw and modules and all lib folder ?

sensors,gps,etc to get work you will find this folder on system/lib
also look for init.d folder on etc folder and change if is need
change also cm7 camera libs to your port cm7 based libs

what permission to fix if the rom don`t have any drivers from original phone and have drivers from ported phone.

[MOD][JB] 720p Video Record/Playback on Jelly bean roms

Switched to cm10 and wanna try semaphore s version with 720p recording/playback working?
I made a patch for jb roms to support 720p recording and playback.i tried ics pack on jb but it gave me media issues.so i decided to take libs from slim bean and made a 720p patch.
Tested on :- cm10 only for timing please test it i will update the op.it should be working on other jb roms also.

I am using Dark Jelly Belly 4.1.1 v.3 currently video rec is not working. Is perhaps this mod something that can help with that?

yup if u are using huge mem configuration i.e.using semaphore "s" version then this mod is useful to u..and its for jb only..

Thanks. I'll try it when I go back to a JB rom, I'm on the TouchwizMyui rom. But to make sure, it does not have to be a CM10 based rom? Sorry this might sound dumb but how do we tell if it's a semaphore rom?

buddy it should be cm10 based or 4.1.1 jb based rom then only this patch will work...for ics roms there is another patch for 720p videoshttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1575485&highlight=720p.. ....for sempahore its always written on the rom's page that which kernel is being used...or u can check the kernel version in settings/about phone ''kernel version''....the semaphore jb ''s'' version have huge mem config...for that you have to apply this patch to get 720p working...hope this helps..
edit:-it seems that you have my touch 4g ...i dont know about that device so be carefull before trying anything of i9000 international... i own a i9000 international...

Of course I always jump before I finish reading something, I tried it on the MyTouchUX v2 - Feel TouchWiz rom, no go sadly. I was desperate to try it, I sooo miss 720 rec. Hopefully nothing gets messed up by it, I don't want to re-flash the rom. For some reason Clockwork wont create a Nandroid backup anymore, it says it does but it dont.

buddy i think mytouchux v2 is a ics rom ...you should not try this patch try ics 720p patch that might work

Sorry I meant I did try the ICS patch that was linked to in the other post. My bad ha! Yeah I know not to try a JB patch in a ICS rom lol.

lol...anyways these are the files responsible for 720p rec/playback working:-
1.libOMX.SEC.AVC.Decoder.aries.so
2.libOMX.SEC.AVC.Encoder.aries.so
3.libOMX.SEC.M4V.Decoder.aries.so
4.libOMX.SEC.M4V.Encoder.aries.so
5.libSEC_OMX_Core.aries.so
6.libstagefright_omx.so
you can search for these files in other roms of mytouch if you find it than you can manually place it in system/lib ..

I am not that knowledgable lol. Guess I will have to re-flash my rom, it will rec but playback crashes lol. Oh well, worth the try.

Is there a way to make 720p playback work on 2.0.6 Semaphore with this patch?
