Hi Guys, I just got my A100 last week and liking it so far, i want to install ICS on it, i am very familliar with Android since i got an android phone and have flashed tons of custom Roms on it. however i searched the A100 forum and cant find a single post / thread about proper instruction on how to install A500 roms on A100 or how to do different things for new owners,
for example i am interested in installing the FLEXREAPER ROm (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1517181) what are the steps i need to follow? i have already rooted the device and all set, but what is unblocking the BL ?
Can someone please be kind enough to write a step by step instruction on how to flash a A500 rom on A100 ?
Thank you in advance.

Unlocking the bootloader allows you to flash a custom recovery which is required to flash custom roms. See this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1558595. All you need to do is restore your boot.img after flashing an A500 rom (so flash it like any other custom rom, then restore the boot.img from your a100 rom's nandroid backup).

- Unlock the bootloader
- Flash CWM Recovery
- Nandroid, then flash the a500 rom, then restore your boot.img from the nandroid backup
Yes, I am running ICS (I wanted to wait for the official release, but I was tempted by the development ). The screen is not as good as HC with crossix's modded build.prop. It cannot be used on ICS since it was coded for honeycomb. A few changes should make it compatible, but I haven't tried it.

Yes, you can. See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23008670&postcount=5.
Here is the process I took
Flashed ICS leak 009
Unlocked the bootloader
Flashed thor's recovery via fastboot (adb reboot bootloader then fastboot flash thorsrecovery)
Then I let the tablet fully boot up an did this
ADB reboot recovery
Then made a nandroid for box stock ICS
Then I downloaded Flexreapers rom an all the files/folders with the exception of these
-EC
-Meta INF
-system
Finally I did a factory reset an let the tablet boot up all the way an manually installed in the modified acer ring.apk I modified an replaced the old acer ring.apk an rebooted.
Happy ending
There is alot more i've done since but this is the basics of getting the a500 rom working.

Holy smoke that sounds complicated !!!
Questions
1-) how is the screen?
2-) when you say "Then I downloaded Flexreapers rom an all the files/folders with the exception of these" so you downloaded the zip, unzipped it, removed those folders and rezipped it?
3-) Where did you download the Acer Ring?
Thank you,

nice work! I love it!
Nice....
One question though...
I have franco kernel and different radio flashed on my GN, so if I would recover this image would I get stock kernel and radio which is stated in post?
YES
Hey thanks,
is it gonna get OTAs?
yes but i think you will have to lock bootloader tho for official updates,,,fastboot oem lock
Is this the official updated with the GSM fix or something else?
image files from google source its the official one
thanks for posting this. the CMW backup includes a radio image? what version of CWM is included? i was under the impression that CWM DOES NOT backup radio images. i already have the same radio and prefer not to flash it again. thanks.
Thanks it will be really useful!

You shouldn't have to re-lock the bootloader for OTAs.
hi,
I have a problem with this rom (i also already put Franco latest stable kernel on it) regarding Facebook app.
Text and messages are transparent, the only thing i can see is pics of my contacs. Any text is missing.
Do you have any ideas how i could fix it?

I got OTA update with root & unlocked bootloader, but it failed to apply because of some asserts in the script that checked MD5 hash of certain files incl build.prop, and I'd made some tweaks. So YES to OTA.
The best ROM around here so far !!!!!!!!
Hi, may i know how can i root this rom? i download and restore the 2nd one already. but still show no rooted access. I try GNex toolkit and Easiest Root Toolkit both fail to root it.

Erf, stock kernel didnt fix the problem, looks like it's a imm76I problem :/
I'm reseting it right now to see (dalvik, wipe and cache.)
After full reset, problem still here. So i think it's a firmware related bug :/
I flashed the pre rooted one. But it says I don't have root. How do I fix this?
Download HERE
Should be updated from 4.2.1
Working root added in the attachment.
Note: Android 4.2.1_r1.2 was not released as OTA update, therefore, this should be flashed over last official Google build i.e. JOP40D.

Re: [LINK] Android 4.2.2 OTA takju
It would be great if somebody could post the new radio in a zip format at least.
i can't seem to get it to work i tried with the cwm install method and with the adb sideload method every time i get an error

Nopz I am on Takju.
I can copy paste the exact error I got in CWM, how to do that?
I just flashed this over stock 4.2.1 image via TWRP 2.4.1.0, no issues.
This is same 4.2.2 takju only update for manual update via CWM or TWRP which doesn't apply check patch before install, in case you have modified system files, and preserves CWM recovery or TWRP, but make sure after flashing .zip for example in CWM, to confirm fix SU before reboot.
I have installed via CWM 6.1.0.9 version.

What do you think happens when you flash a ROM? Why would you need to install a stock ROM just so it can be completely wiped with a custom ROM install?
There is zero need to install stock 4.2 first. That's just a silly way to think.

Hello Guys,
I am currently on Shpongle and want to move back to stock. Reason being frequent hanging and sluggishness. I have installed the swap performance updates and greenify, but still at times, the phone gets the better of my patience.
MY Questions:
1. How do I go back to stock? I dont think I have the stock nandroid backup. I have the Unlock_code.bin that was sent by HTC.
2. Is there a lightweight Sense ROM? I like the camera, and looks, but I dont like the friendfeed and stuff.
Thanks.

Hi people.
My device is curretly like this:

Knox 0x1
TWRP recovery
Stock Kernel
Stock ROM 4.4.2
I would like to return completly to stock. I know I won't be able to be Knox 0x0 again but I want the stock recovery, kernel and ROM.
My question is: can I simply restore the firmware in Kies to get back to stock (including the recovery)?

Thanks for the links. I have a problem. I decided I want to go back to comfortable stock ROM. I used a custom ROM, on a rooted HTC One V (GSM - Primo U). I followed the intructions: First I installed stock kernel and stock recovery. After I relocked the bootloader. I downloaded the RUU file according to my region (there are 4 european RUU version???). I connected my phone to computer and run the downloaded setup and followed the steps. Only after I started the update process, the progress bar stopped moving (before entering bootloader - the HTC One V didn't reboot into bootloader) and I got an error (155) message. What may be the problem? I have tried the all RUU files according to my region.
Thanks in advance,

First, install a custom recovery again. Then do a full wipe and install the rom you downloaded (PrimoU_Europe_2.22.401.1_Stock_Rooted_ODEX_FULL.zip or PrimoU_Europe_2.22.401.1_Stock_Rooted_ODEX_LITE.zip) with the custom recovery like you would install a custom rom. Then reboot to fastboot and flash boot.img (not boot-signed.img because this didn't work for me). Try to reboot and if everything works you may install recovery_signed.img, but this is only useful for ota updates, which obviously the hov doesn't get anymore.

I don't really understand your problem. If you want to reboot into bootloader just use adb reboot bootloader.
