[REQUEST] Galaxy S II Live Wallpaper - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hey guys,
Is anyone aware of a port of the wind farm live wallpaper on the Galaxy S II for the Galaxy Nexus? I've done some searching and tried an apk but the graphics didn't display correctly.
Thanks,
Krisbo
EDIT: Here they are. They install and work but introduce a lot of lag when scrolling between home screens.

Which apk did you try? Was it TouchWiz based off Ice Cream Sandwich?

I tried these two:
http://androidspin.com/2011/04/24/secret-live-wallpapers-from-the-samsung-galaxy-s-ii-available-for-download/
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1048930
The first one just shows a white screen and the second won't even install.

Those aren't optimized for use on ICS. Try the link I provided and extract it and snatch the live wallpaper apks and try them. It should work better.

Thanks for the tip . It works but makes transitions between home screens very jerky. I'll post the apks when I get home in case anyone else is looking for these.
I also lifted Polaris Office which works well. Unfortunately though, my files didn't work. I really liked is as a simple file manager on my SGS2.

I was also looking for these as well as the 4 live wallpaper from the galaxy S. I found them but they just fc :-( Can you please post the apk's

I was looking at these two live wallpapers too!!!
I've tried the ones which wasn't optimized forma ICS, I hope that anyone canzona post the optimized ones...if they exists of course...

Updated OP with SGS2 live wallpapers from the ICS build.

Thanks man!
Unfortunately you're right...the wallpapers are really really slow, with very ugly lags...
I think that se van forget these walls on our nexus...
Anyway...is there any live wallpaper that is FLUID and WITH NO STUTTER/LAG on the nexus?
Forma example: the PHASE BEAM one id perfect..another one is CRAZY COLORS and SHADOW GALAXY...do you know another one like these...maybe with data/Night transition?

I would like these to work well too ... I used the windmill one exclusively on my SG2 and would love to use it on my GNex but the lag is horrible

Horribly. Very depressing.

I can't say I'm surprised. I haven't found a single live wallpaper that doesn't create some sort of lag with every Android phone I've owned, including the GNex.
Anyone who tells me that live wallpapers don't create some lag is a liar.
the Phase Beam live wallpaper has 0 lag
There is only one live wallpaper that causes no lag and it's the original nexus live wallpaper. Works great on my galaxy nexus, probably because it isn't high res

This one works fine for me:http://db.tt/deyVoFPi. I'm pretty sure I got it from the Nexus S forum.
That one worked perfect for me thank you!

It looks like we need something more than just the APK. When it it launched there is an unsatisfied link error
I've only seen this exception be thrown on windows when I'm missing a DLL at runtime.

Installed this on 4.0.2 and it crippled my homescreens!

I wonder what else it needs... Maybe a stock launcher?

The only one that does not lag is indeed Phase Beam. Why? Because the wallpaper doesn't move when sliding to a different screen.
It's a pity because if anyone has seen this LWP, they need to see it on their GNex.

This one worked! After several failed attempts, finally found an apk compatible with custom launcher and Theory's rom. Thanks!

For those of you still having issues with the apk, try flashing this one. It worked for me also.

love this one a lot

Why are so much apps so laggy?

I was so happy when I upgraded from a T-Mobile g2, but now I'm thinking it wasn't worth it
Everything was smooth on the g2 even if it was single core at 0.8ghz
When I use apps the scrolling isn't smooth at all, everything's so laggy, especially go launcher which I was using on the g2 without any problems
Do you guys think a future update will fix this?

I think it is a problem with Go Launcher not being updated for ICS..

I would say that there isn't many apps updated for ics yet.....only a few and that's why they don't run smooth....but I would guess that as more and more phones get ics, more and more apps will be updated too......at least that's what I think and hope......
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
The built in live wallpapers aren't optimized for ICS except phase beam. Wouldn't surprise me if a lot of others weren't either. Also.. if you are using a live wallpaper not optimized for ICS.. well there's your problem.
I'd bet, like most, that it hinges on the optimizations for ICS.
Keep in mind, ICS was a HUGE update (maybe not coming from 3.x but y'know) and app-devs have a ways to go before they're using the newer configs on all their apps. It'd be entertaining to see GB ported back over to the GN to see how well it ran.

*Working*Cosmic Flow LWP

I found a working version of the new cosmic flow live wallpaper from the Sony Xperia phones. Once you install it you have to hit settings and pick a color and then you can apply it. Only problem is that it runs terribly slow.
Anyone think they can take a stab at speeding it up?

Nice find! Hopefully someone can optimize it for the GNex.

Only solution is don't use them. You would think that the Gnex would be able to handle live wallpapers with no problems. Guess we'll have to wait for quad cores to run them smoothly.
The only wallpaper that I like is wave because it is beautiful and is very very smooth.. I recommend trying it.. It doesn't use much battery either..

Its gotta be some bug that Google hasn't fixed. These same wallpapers run OK on lesser phones, so its likely something software related.

Lesser phones at much lower resolution.
Do all of the live wallpapers lag for you? The only ones that lag on my phone are Bubbles and Microbes.
The only ones that lag are those not yet optimized.
Phase beam is awesome. I take it that OP is not stating that the device lags because of LWP.
It's definately a software issue.

Ok,i understand! However, even in my gnex the only live wallpaper that doesn't lag is phase beam. Thanks to everyone,if you have news let me know 'cause me too think that is an issue related to software
I sent a report to Google:
1-set the live wallpapers that lags
2-go to applications->running and select the live wallpaper that you're using
3-select report and write a description that can help developers to fix this issue.
I hope that as much people as possible will do this, maybe google will listen to us!

I guess, but does the note lag? Different gpu sure. But why does phase beam work smooth as can be, but the nexus amoeba one not? Are they that different in resource requirements where one works smooth and the other not? Both seem in the same ballpark to me. Something has to be going on...
To reduce lag in many wallpapers, just stop them from scrolling.
Simple.
Sent from the future.
I heard that turning on forced GPU rendering can get rid of the lag but turning that option on usually is more trouble than it's worth. It's something Google should have fixed a long time ago and it's baffling that they haven't.

I was seeing lag on my galaxy nexus and turned off force gpu. It no longer lags and the apps that were choppy are now fine.
I am running stock ICS and made just a few tweaks when i first got the device due to the 5 tweaks to make on ICS article. Thought sonething was wrong but read that force gpu might be cause.

Renderscript is already gpu accelerated, so forcing it is just doing what it already does.
The only one that works 100% smooth is phase beam, the others 1000% lag !
I found another one from a different thread. Its like a black hole or something. Like the old galaxy one but with a big ball of light in the middle. The apk is named galaxy4 and someone modified it but I don't know who so I cannot give credit. Let me know if you guys find any others.

[Request] Touchwiz UI port from Galaxy Note & Galaxy S II

Sunday, July 22, 2012
XDA Developers, Cooks, Themers, & Tweakers:
Is there any way to get the Touchwiz UI from the SGN & SGS2 4.0.X builds running on the I9300? I've tried simply carrying over the *.apk, but that doesn't work. I suspect that's because the *.apk requires additional resources (Touchwiz framework, libraries, etc.) from the SGN & SGS2 4.0.X builds in order to run on the I9300. If anyone out there has any experience with things like this, I would very much appreciate your help. I'd like to see last year's Touchwiz UI running on the I9300 relatively soon, so please, help me out.
Thanks in advance for anyone who helps.
Thank you,
Edward (Mister_Mxyzptlk)

By "UI" do you mean the Touchwiz launcher? If so, there's a few ports that should work. Try the Touchwiz 4.5 mod from the SII.

I appreciate that. I really do. However, unlike most people here on XDA, I actually do my homework BEFORE I post; and TW4.5 is a no-go. It crashes every time. Thank you though.

so vice versa...when trying to port S3 UI to S2, the entire framework had to be resized to 800X480, the native resolution of the S2, so I believe that you would have to expand the S2 UI from 800X480 to 1280X720, which would typically cause regraded resolution?
thats my assumption as to why it would be very difficult to do...from S2 to S3.

While using the Touchwiz UI from the SGS2 presents this problem, the Touchwiz UI from the SGN does not. As it's resolution is 800X1280, only minor changes would be necessary. Truthfully, I believe that the resolution discrepancies are of little concern compared to the missing framework components that will also need to be ported alongside the Touchwiz.apk. If anyone out there has had experience with this, we could really use your help.

I went on a similar quest a while back, since I find a four-icon dock more aesthetically pleasing, but ended up giving up on it when it turned out to have the same reloading issues as TW5. There are ports that work, but - naturally - I've deleted all the files I downloaded.
From memory, I would suggest looking for a single apk (Rather than apk + lib files, as there's quite a few ports) that was ported for the Galaxy Nexus. All the resizing has already been done, it's just a drop in /system/app deal. Most of the ports I found just force-closed, though.
