Stock ROM for DInc2? - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

Ok, so I have my DInc2 running CM7.0.1 that I'm not doing anything with since I upgraded to the Galaxy Nexus. So, I put it up on ebay and sold it with my Otterbox. The issue is that the buyer wants the stock ROM back on the thing, but I can't seem to find the backup I made way back when I originally unlocked and rooted the thing. I've seen the "stock"/de-bloated ROMS in the development forums, but those aren't the actual stock ROMs. Can anyone point me to an actual un-rooted & stock ROM??

look up the latest ruu if not andybones rom in the dev section is completely stock

try the ruu http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1033922
ver 3.02.605.1, the newer ruu may not easy to get s-off and root if the buyer want to begin with stock

How does an RUU work? I've only ever used CWM-style ROMs. I don't use Windows as a host computer, if that matters (Linux all the way). Also, for either method (AndyBoneStock or RUU) - will the phone get any subsequent OTAs after?

Download the ruu that you want. Rename it to PB32IMG.zip and have that one the root of your sd card.. boot into hboot and follow instructions.. pure stock. The other roms will not give you ota updates
Sent from my Mikrunny'd Vivo_w

I just download the file directly through the phone.. windows is not needed. You can do it with your pc though and just transfer it to the phones sd card.. must be on the sd card and to get to hboot press and hold vol- and power. It'll boot right up

A method to get back s-on is usually released some time after. I think we can assume it'll come.
as mentioned by jcase, if you upgraded to GB using RUU OTA whatever, no alpharevX for u. XTC clip is ur only option.

ah yes. memory of a fruit fly these last few days !
You need at least temp-root to S-Off via Alpharev. If you ignored repeated warnings to not upgrade to GB, then you're out of luck for now. Sorry...spend your money on an XTC clip.

Now, just so I'm clear (not my first Android device so I'm not wholly new, but it is my first HTC), if I used alpharevx to get S-OFF, I will remain that way even if I went OTA to GB, I just would be unable to root? Is that correct?

You well get a key generated only after you type in your serial number from the device. Its unique and will be good for that one time. You will need to keep the internet browser window open during the process.
If you turn of the internet it will not work
I did mine using a bare bones xp home acer atom.
you need the internet on while doing this. Don't turn of the internet our the browser

[Q] Update straight to 2.3

Ok, I'm new to htc's and don't hate on me for asking this but I've searched here and on Google and am not getting good enough results, I currently have a 2.2 stock ROM with root and clockwork to boot ( just got the phone and it was this way when I got it) I now have to send the phone in for repairs and I was thinking if it would be ok to just update to the 2.3 htc stock update?
Do the RUU's include everything boot, radio and ROM?
I come from the world of Samsung where we have small updates (that don't have boot) and large ones (wich include all 3 packages)
Also if this was posted in the wrong section, mod could you please move it to the appropriate place thank you
Cheers.
A RUU is indeed a complete package. It will return it completely to stock.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Thanks for the swift reply

im not sure about this, as some users reported to remain still s-off after the 2.3 ruu (and this should be logic as the alpharev bootloader version is 6.93 (>1.02))
I did the update and everything went great, I also saw that the loader is now S-ON
whatever that means

HELP!!! Gained root access on 2.2.1?

I have rooted my Dinc2 before but messed it up, so I just unrooted it to get used to the phone first. Then I kept having memory issues because of all the bloatware. Last night I decided to root again and downgraded to what I thought was 2.3.3 and rooted using revolutionary, after that I found out I had an old radio so I updated that. Finally Root Access!!! But the kick is my software shows 2.2.1 and I tried to flash MikRunny v1.1 deodex and it shows success while flashing, but there is no difference and the software still says 2.2.1 and yes I cleared dalvik, cache, and wiped data. What am I doing wrong? How can I flash roms "completely"?
P.S. I have done tons of searching but can't find anyone with a similar problem.
Oh, and yes I have SU 3.0.7, S-off, CWM Recovery, and actual root access.

You should RUU the 2.3.3 verison instead of the 2.2.1. You can still use revolutionary to root. See if that fixed your issues.

So I should flash the rooted leak of 2.3.3 Rom and radio? Sorry I haven't researched ruu and from some of the empty info I've been coming along I kind of thought that's what I needed too. I just never had any hard info to where I felt comfortable risking my 2 week old phone.
Sorry I can't post links yet, because I'm a new member. Although I am a long time lurker.
I first updated to the 2.3.3 radio, then flashed 2.3.3 ruu through CWM. I still have CWM, still have superuser, still s-off, but still have the same problem. I am running 2.3.3 now though.
You will flash the ruu or p32img.zip (something like that) from boot manager not recovery.
After that follow the root process and happy flashing.
PS.. the ruu should be places on root of SD card not in any folders.

eMMC-boot
Jul 18 2011
All that it does is get stuck at the HTC screen.
Things that I have tried.
New Ruus
PG32IMG
The phone is recognized in fastboot,
ADB does not recognize the phone.
I have been going through the forum, and websites for the last 4 hours.
Factory Reset reboots the phone and gives me a security warning.
Recovery does the same.
I also get the USB Not recognized error once the phone comes on. I have installed the HTC drivers, I have also installed HTC Sync and have removed it.
Am I stressing and overlooking something simple? Or, do I need to take this phone out back and lay it to rest.
Thank you in advance
Crush
I don't own this phone but how did this happen? I'm assuming your rooted and unlocked if you got s recovery and stuff. And if your recovery works.. just Mount your SD card and transfer a ROM from your PC and flash one.. make sure you flash the kernel too. That or run the ruu

I was given this phone because because it is stuck in the bootloop. Phones come with their own recovery, this isn't a custom recovery. I have tried to run ruus, the error I get is Main version is older. I have also downloaded official stock roms with no luck.
When I hit recovery, the phone reboots back to the bootloader, the recovery never comes up.

Ohh so someone messed it up and just gave it to you for free? Or for you to repair? Either way I don't follow the droid inc2 but maybe im sure its rooted if its in a boot loop so try going into fast boot and go into cmd prompt and try to install a recovery. Look up how to install a recovery through CmD Prompt on the Pc. On my phone can't explain all of it. And then just transfer over a ROM probably cm9 and follow the instructions
Unless you want to go back to stock? Not sure if you know about ROMs and kernels?

Thats exactly what happened, it was given to me to me in this condition, and if I can fix it I will get paid for doing so.
Yes, I am familiar with roms, and kernels, I currently use an Evo 4g with Swagged out Stock X 2.0.9.8
Ive also rooted and flash cm7 on plenty of phones, I even have cm7 on my HP Touchpad.
I can't for the life of me figure this out. It has me highly intrigued. I am known for stressing out and overlooking minor small steps, so I wanted get some input from the community.
I currently have fastboot open, I am not entirely familiar with the Incredible 2, but normal case S-on = none rooted from my experience.
it was devunlocked then relocked i believe, from the error message i believe you are not flashing the right ruu, you are trying to flash an older one, you need the newest one, it was released a few months ago if i recall correctly and it was no big update but thats the one you need, search for it and try it it should work. if you are s on you cant flash a older ruu than whats already on it

[Q] Can I safely flash roms to my rooted (but s-on) phone?

I half-rooted my htc evo 4g. Android 2.3.5 build 4.67.651.3. I unlocked the bootloader and flashed superuser. I have root access but never proceeded past that point as I felt in over my head. I read somewhere that I can flash Sense roms but not others. I'd like to know what I can do. I guess HTC evo runs sense 1.0. I'm in the same boat, but I'm somewhat confused and just need clarification. I've rooted my moment and two evo's in the past, but this one is diiferent.
I achieved simple root with s-on with a coworkers EVO last night with hboot 2.18. All he wants is wifi tether and that's it. He's still on the stock rom.
I searched for hours and hours and can't find a definitive answer. Can I flash a new ROM from the sd card, or do I have to do it from a command prompt?
I have to be careful as I'm doing it at work and it's not my phone. I can't mess it up and send him on his way.
