He'llo, I got a Samsung Epic 4G Touch, not a even a month yet. (on sprint) (on contract)
And I was just wondering if their is any way if I can return the phone and then get a phone on sprint off contract (a cheapo dumb phone) till the galaxy nexus comes out. Is that possible or anything like that?
Depends on how long Sprint's return policy is.
1 month

If they give you your upgrade back, I don't see why not.

1 month. I loved my EpicTouch4G for the record, but the GN blows it away.
Yeah I don't see why not you would just have to buy the temp phone off contract or go back to using the one you were before. Just make sure you get your upgrade back
hate to tell you guys this but sprint changed their return policy on 9/16 now its 14 days

I read about this on the Sensation forums. Has anyone tried to get this plan with their Galaxy S2?
from the posts it looks legit, ill have to try it
Thats the plan me and my brother have with the S2
have this plan when we renewed contract 6 mo ago... i have gs2 on one line other has sensation hope they don't make us change when our2 years are up

I got this plan about 6 weeks after I upgraded to the Sensation (had to extend contract). Kept calling for 6 weeks and they finally gave it to me. It requires a 2 year contract extension from the date you get the data plan.
Ive had this plan for close to 2 years now! I always tell them not to mess with my Android plan when i upgrade! I actually have this plan on 2 lines, mine and my wifes G2! By the way just got my GS2 last wed and am really loving it! Close choice between It and Amaze..this ultimately won out cause of the lil more development and I wanted to go back to a lighter phone like when i had my vibrant last year! Im coming from the G2 which I still love by the way!
I work for T-Mobile, not everyone can qualify for thus. Just a heads up.

Well me and my and my girlfriend both bought white epics back in december off craigslist for 350. I preordered the s3 and my gf decided to wait til see.how much of an upgrade it truly is before buying one. Well someone offered her a great deal on an evo lte so she gave it a shot. 1 day later she went back to her epic. Well i figured next week craigslist will be flooded with S2s and will go for less so i took the evo bc i know ill get 400 easy. I through the galaxy on craigslist for 350 and within an hour it was gone lol. This evos ok but the galaxy is better to me and my epic wasnt even rooted. Im a miss the s2 and cant wait for my s3. People always rant about the iphone holding its value i think this epic is just as good

The Galaxy S line has been a win from the start in my opinion. I kind of want to own every one just because I'm sold on the brand. It's always slightly ahead of its time. The software and hardware are deceptively durable (ie, always been able to port almost anything and nearly unbrickable if used properly.) It's like owning a Rolex. And I'm sure if you don't treat a Rolex well it'll break to your disappointment, as well. Also, Odin is a God in the Samsung world. Enjoy the fun. I test drove the SGS3 and it's gorgeous. I doubt anyone will be disappointed.

I picked up an EVO LTE on launch day and while in the store one of the employees offered me $250.00 for my Epic Touch. I went back the following Friday and sold it to her.
I was surprised i got that much for it.
A few weeks before that i sold my original Epic 4G for 100 bucks.
Now im left with my EVO 3D as a back up to my LTE.
I do think the Galaxy S devices hold their re-sale value pretty well.
Okay so I had a HTC rezound when I upgraded from Verizon about 2 months ago, a week ago I traded my rezound for a gnex on swappa, I had purchased insurance on my rezound when I upgraded, I was wondering if I still have insurance on my gnex? I'm not really sure how it works. Thanks

Okay. Well first of all, Verizon doesn't provide in-house insurance. They go through a 3rd party - such as Asurion. And secondly, I *think* as long as you're paying your monthly insurance payment it should go through, but perhaps you should contact them and make sure that the policy has indeed crossed over to your new phone.
If for some reason it hasn't carried over and someone gives you a hard time about it, stop into a store and tell them your assurion fell off when you did a sim change. They'll usually throw it back on for you.
It -should- carry over, though. If you purchased a different type of insurance (such as Protectcell) then you'll just want to call that company, cause it's usually transferable.
Not sure what I went through. All I know is that I don't pay a monthly fee, I paid the 100 straight up.

Just curious if anyone has tried this before.
Essentially, I'm leaving for vacation in a few days and wanted to snag a new S3 before I leave to replace my iPhone 4. My iPhone is currently acting up and don't want to be without a phone/camera my entire trip. I also want to experience what the 4g coverage is like in my area, otherwise I'll move to Verizon. The kicker is, I won't be back until 2 days prior to the 30 day return policy, so I really won't get to test it out at work and such.
I have been a customer for 10 years (I'm old), and I'm going to try to get the S3 for $99 like others had, but I'm hoping they will give me a 45 day return policy (sort of like BB's Premium member policy). Just curious if anyone has tried this and had any luck with the idea of a 45 day return policy?
Usually if you scream at the supervisor they would do it
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Generally the return policy is pretty firm, so I highly doubt they would do that.
S3 rocks and I used to be Apple Only and I have broadened my horizons

Hmmm. Has anyone tried it?
Return policy is very firm, I know people that have tried and never succeeded. If there is an ATT store where your going to can always return it there. You wont beable to test LTE in your area since your gone anyways. Verizon LTE is nice since its everywhere, my buddy gets around 6-9mb down average. I get 4-6mb down on HSPA. ATT lte can hit over 50mb in some markets, average 15-25 dpending on market so its faster.

So you're going away for 28 days? Cant you find an At&t store wherever youre going and get one there in 2 weeks so you'll also have time to test at work when you get back?
I would definitely not expect at&t to treat you special, or at least I wouldnt trust them so wouldnt risk it.

As a manager in retail I am less likely to help a customer when they do arrogant things like this. Just my 2 cents....
Sent from my Galaxy S3
My mother returned hers a few days after the period was up but she had to fly out of country for a loss in the family. I guess you just need a good manager and reason.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
Still the return policy is pretty firm, you would know if you liked the device within that period of vacation and if your 2 days early wouldn't you know how reception was within that time? I mean I understand taking time to like the phone but reception is a pretty instant thing.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Hey folks.
I guess I will have to find a ATT store on my vacation. Reception is important, we have deadpsots in our building from some reason. Verizon has one terrible spot where no one gets reception. I want to see if it's my iPhone or they're network thats causing the issue, and that will allow me to determine whether I switch to ATT. NO biggy, I'll just have to find a store in vacation like someone said.
Don't forget to walk with everything that came with it (box, receipt, etc.) so it's less hassle if you exchange or return it.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
The only way to take the contract off after the 30 days is to manually remove the contract and if you do that you could mess up the eligibility, so if someone says they can do it don't wait just return the phone within the 30 days.

Hi, just wondering if there are any loopholes that have worked for anyone in the past.
I'm really interested in either the Nexus 4 or Note 2. I love the S2 but I dont have an upgrade until Jan 2014 and these new phones are just so intriguing. I definitely don't want to pay a non contract price for these phones, but was hoping to sell my S2 and use it to buy a new phone at hopefully a good price.
Any advice?
not sure of any loop holes. most companys make sure there are none.
i say sell the s2 and get the n4. with the price being so low its worth it.
I looked up on the sprint buyback program and they'll give you $85 for the e4gt.
Well I have three phones mine wife and daughter wife never likes upgrading so I get her upgrades with mine not cheap but it works

That's at the moment. Look at the Gnex. It was released GSM first then Verizon got it, and then Sprint. I don't think Google is that dumb to cut Verizon from getting the Nexus and Sprint has gotten the other Nexus devices aside from the Nexus One.

I get the distinct impression that future nexuses (nexii?) will be gsm only given the widespread dissatisfaction with the update process on CDMA carriers

When I got my gs2 back in April I wasn't up for my upgrade till mid may. Anyway I brought it to a 3rd party sprint store and told me we could pretend it had water dmg and in that case sprint cuts you a few weeks slack and forks over the upgrade as its cheaper for them then asurian claims sending a new phone....at least that's what my rep said to me... he's a nice guy

I love the hardware of my epic touch but I know we can do better in regards of software. Jb leak is proof of that and what is likely to come. However I am getting tired of running gb. Having a nexus 7 tablet doesn't help my case when i get constant updates as soon as good drops new source. I am hoping I can hold out for the jb update or even a newer leak. But if not I would love to find a way to get a sg3 for cheap. And I don't really want to add another line.

I used to always buy my phones out of contract, I would ebay my phone, get paid apply that $ towards my new phone and ship the old one out. I would usually ship the next day so I wasn't holding up my buyer.
These days I just buy from Craigslist. Picked this phone up for 240 around mid summer, I think.

I agree with this, I bought my sgs2 in June for $220 off contract (used). It came in great shape and working perfectly. I'm thinking I'll keep buying phones this way - just wait for them to be ~9 months old and you can get them for the upgrade price. This way if a new phone drops that I just have to have I'm always ready with the upgrade. Also if I somehow kill my current phone I don't have to worry about carrying insurance, just use my upgrade on whatever's out.
The only thing better is direct from Google pricing, which I may switch to but I will loose some coverage in my state by leaving CDMA so I haven't decided on that yet.

Hah, I can assure you, after 20 phone calls, they don't give a **** about their customers.
I've had my account open with sprint since 1991.
There are 5 lines on the account.
They have made ~$50,000 from my family.
Yea, no, I will switch to anything better as soon as possible.
