I ordered this... http://www.ebay.com/itm/170731777597?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 Its a 3 battery + solo battery charger combo, cost $15 no tax.. no shipping. Took about 2 weeks to get and every battery works flawlessly.
They all come with 66%charge. The charger even charges my stock battery. All batteries have a cut off switch built in like the original that doesn't allow overcharging. The charger has a led that is red when charging and blue when charged. I have not noticed any difference in battery life when I switch to another battery. At night I can charge one in my phone and one in my new charger. I take two with me and just leave em In my car or my e5 easy case. Never run out of battery, don't have to be plugged in constantly, I use my phone heavily and some days I need 3 full charges. Even if i use 3 batteries in one day, by the time i finish the 3rd the first is charged. I only ever have to charge 2 at night when I'm asleep. The next day I wake up with 4 fully charged (3 spare + 1 original) but iv never used all 4 in one day.
I have tried everything I can to get the batteries to fail, overclocking @ 1700 using them from 100%-0% without stop and even overclocking while plugged in. I cannot get the battery to fail.
Ill keep you updated if anything changes (I know even with the review some are skeptical) but for 2 weeks of heavy use, I use my note allll day Im a stay at home father/student, none of the batteries have failed.
I hope this was helpfull.

False. They charge just fine. But, faster on the wall. Actually they charge faster on the wall than my original with supplied usb charger. Whoever made your girlfriend's phone might have mentioned that in the information though. Pays to read thoroughly. As I've said before. No problems. I cant even tell what battery I have in my phone, I should mark them... because they all work the same.

That's brutal! You ought to make a thread and warn people so we don't make the same mistake bro. This is what it's all about. Hope these batteries work as good for you as they did for me.
I have this set.
The batteries definitely work and they don't 'fail' but they are without question far worse than the stock samsung battery. I'm okay with that, considering how cheap they are.
- Frank
these batteries are not secure enough to be bought - the worst thing that could happen is they might explode. They are not cheap for nothing!! I've read a couple of articles about counterfeit battery catching fire/exploding and in my opinion, it's preferable to add some more cash and buy a genuine battery, than those fake ones. Better be safe than sorry...Just my 2cents...
Don't know about you...
But I would never joke with battery
Sent from my Galaxy Note
I got the same batteries as OP and they work, but definitely don't have the same capacity as OEM. I'd guesstimate 60%-70% capacity. The cheapo white ones on Ebay are a little better than the blacks, but still definitely reduced capacity compared to OEM. Regardless, it's a great deal for the price.
i bought similar batteries for my SGS2 and they worked great
i already ordered a similar combo (3 Batteries + 1 charger) for my note
waiting for it to arrive
It was pretty fast shipping. for 10bux, Its pretty good deal however you look at it.
Got the 3batteries and charger deal as well. No problems. My only complaint is the universal charger that came with it. It takes FOREVER to charge the batteries. I charged them faster just switching them in the phone. I'm sure there are better wall chargers out there though.

Not a good sign for Apple's famed quality if the stock battery died in 1,5 years (assuming she got her IPhone on release). After more than two years the battery in my good old i8910 is still running about 2-3 days with moderate usage.
Thanks Op for the link. They are cheaper now.
Never had much luck with other manufacturer's replacements
I'm delighted that I can now buy a replacement Samsung battery - just ordered from Mobile Fun

just got them today, pretty fast shipping, about 8 business days to alberta canada. i had my doubts because of the price, but they fit perfect, have the same specs as my stock battery, and come with a handy wall charger too. so far i have 8 hours on one of them with my regular heavy text usage, some 3g market etc. only at 81%! seems a bit better than my stock battery but that could be placebo, more testing in the following days should prove wether they last as long or longer than stock.
just thought id give you guys a heads up, im happy with the purchase and now i can have 2 spare batteries in case for some reason im not around my car charger or wall charger. also have a crystal gel case on its way, will take pics of it for the other thread when it arrives.

so far today usage seems about the same as the SE stock battery, but i did encounter a problem last night. i plugged it in with my SE charger, green charge light comes on, but didnt charge. i didnt notice this until this morning when the phone was off and dead , so i guess they dont charge with the SE charger, but they do however charge very fast in the wall dock that came with them. i also tried using the usb cord from the SE charger with the charger i bought, doesnt charge. im wondering if theres something different with sony's cable, might go pick up a generic micro? i think, usb cable tonight and see if it will charge properly.
anyways, sucks they dont charge with the SE charger but i think it might be because the SE battery has the overcharge protection circuit in the battery? while these batteries dont? just a guess.
ill keep you posted, and i can get pics if you want, but they are EXACTLY as shown in that ad, like, identical.
cheers!

Thanks, interesting, I was mainly looking for a battery charger, I didn't know I can find one for the X10.
Do you knw if you can recharge the original battery or the mugen one with this charger?
The price is pretty cheap I may buy one and see it myself anyway.
my SE battery charges in it, but the two no name batteries will not charge with the se charger, or my old htc diamond charger with the se cable.... i dont know if its the se usb cable or the no name batteries... but they seem to have the same capacity as the se battery...

I bought the same batteries with the charger and neither battery would take a charge.
I would be very careful of getting a knockoff battery. They are labeled as being manufactured by SE but clearly they are not SE batteries.
Did a google search and it seems some fellow died when his knockoff batteries exploded as he was carrying his cell phone in his shirt pocket. Had he been carrying his phone in his front pant's pocket he might have a different problem
The article did not say what brand these batteries were knocking off, but I would still be wary of such cheap batteries.
i already stated they do not charge with the SE charger. and if you got the same as i ordered they are the bst-41 standard and meet all specs of the bst-41. do your homework beforehand people. batteries have been used daily since recieved, no issues , and almost exact consuption as stock bst-41.

Sorry if I rained on your parade but
They are labeled as being manufactured by SE (therefor are knockoffs) and they even have a phony serial #. I did do my homework and it seems that all those batteries have the same serial #.
How do you know they are same standard of bst-41 and meet all the specs, when clearly they are mislabeled - even says made in japan and I seriously doubt they are made there.
At least I can safely say they have poor quality control as both the ones sent to me did not even take a charge with their charger.
Talk about doing homework .....
In any case good luck with your purchase
jesus has this root wait made everyone mad negative??? im thinking we got shipped differnt batteries dude because the ones he sent me are identical to my se battery in every way, even the sticker on it is almost exact, even if they are knockoffs (which is what i was expecting) they are dam good ones imo. ive had knockoffs before but these charge in the same amount of time and discharge identical to my stock battery. maybe i got lucky, maybe you got unlucky, who knows. being knockoffs i guess u cant really complain for 10 bux. right now my 3 batteries are lasting me 7 days without charge....and thats on all night too.

Thank you for that!
I am thinking of getting a spare one myself, just for the summer holidays where I expect to be away from my charger more often!
just want to update this thread, its been weeks now, and i just checked my usage today on one of these batteries. phone has been on for 22hours since last charge...30% remaining, and thats including wifi on for i would say 5 hours, and 3g for the remaining hours. im using adw launcher, and i have gps off and bluetooth off. i usually have my 3g off as well, but since im on vacation and have 3 batteries i could care less so ive left it on. to my surprise im getting really REALLY good battery life. also have probably sent/rec about 200 texts since last charge, few phone calls, alot of surfing, mostly on xda app.
but yea, just wanted to put it out there that it is possible! should get even better after root!
BTW i just recently uninstalled task killer and task cleaner, i now let droid do all of that stuff....so...i guess the rumour is true....ATK does in fact use more battery...
cheers everyone
so I just put my stock battery in before I went to sleep last night, turned off 3g to see what kind of drain I could get. its been on for 9 hours without 3g, and I'm at 97%!!!! can someone tell me how to get a screenshot so u guys can see?

I have a set of the 1500 mah batteries with the charger as was posted above, and I have no problem with them. I use my OEM battery most of the time, but sometimes it is handy to have some fully-charged back-ups. Honestly, I don't see much of a difference between what my OEM battery lasts and the knock-offs. For the price, you can't beat it.
so how are the batteries?
normally i would stay way from cheap Chinese crap on eBay, but with what i read here on the xda boards in regaurds t othe ok qualitybeing good enough that they might work out, so i ordered 2x1850 plus charger from ebay. i dont have time to do any real testing but i can say that:
1 not having to charge the battery from the phone is nice
2 i always have one on the charger, one in my pocket and one in the phone.
3 charging in the base seems to get me a better charge
4 i cant tell a difference between oem and knock offs, although you would think that the 1800's would last longer than the 1500oem but we know how that knock off crap goes. in my book if they are the same as oem, regardless as to what they claim and dont require a bigger back plate, then i guess that's good enough.
The 2 from tutoit or what ever the sellers name is work great last as long or longer then my stock battery. The charger also gives a better charge to the batteries then I get through my phone I'm talking extra hours when I charge with it.

The batteries aren't as good as oem. Probably last 75-80% as long.
The charger works well though and it's nice to have a couple extra batts laying around. I've only cycled them 4 or 5 times so I suppose the life could improve...time will tell.

I Have a number of Minor issues with mine. Must of gotten a bad set.
1) USB port on the charger does not output enough juice to charge the phone (Accually Locks it up until I unplug it)
2) Charger seems hit or miss on recharging the Stock Battery. I've left it plugged in all night and come back to ~20% charge when I pop it in a number of times
3) Random Screen cut off when charging the Replacements IN the phone.
So I only charge the Ghetto batteries in the charger provided.
That being said, I STILL think it's a great deal and more than happy with my purchase. I have 2 spare batteries for my phone (Or the wifes CDMA Hero) and a way to charge one w/o having to leave my phone behind (I don't have to babysit my phone for a charge, If someone walks out of the poker room or party with my charger and battery it's no big deal) The 2 China batts. are just emergency tanks, The Red one gets put back in as soon as I get home.
Best Purchase at twice the price.
Don't wait press the BUY NOW!!!!
Loved the first set so much that I purchased a second set 2 weeks later. I keep 1 set at work and 1 set at home. I always carrying a fully charged battery in plastic bag in my pocket. I love the EVO but hate the battery life. The first month I owned the EVO was hell for me having to carry a power charger and cable everywhere. I hated having to plug my phone in every time I found a power outlet worried if I didn't I may find myself without a phone when I needed it or having to fight everyone at the airports for power outlets. Now when I'm low on juice, I just switch batteries.... BUY NOW you'll never regret it....
I purchased 2 3500 batteries with new backs on e-bay for $22 and change. They work great I can go for over a day with fairly heavy usage.
Only minor problem was that with the phone thicker my silicone case doesn't fit as good. Extra weight no problem.
Yeah one thing I have learned from buying these types of batteries and charger is that they don't like to charge the OEM batteries but charge the cheapo ones just fine. I've noticed it on alot of things not just phone batteries.
buy it for the charger
i bought a 2000mAh that turned out to be a 900mAh so i would only buy it for the charger.
I wouldn't recommend the 2 x 1500 batteries plus charters the 1500's seem like a 1300 or a little less I would say try get the 1800 one from eBay they have a lot of auctions for them so all you gotta do is be patient and try to get for cheap that's what I'm tryin to do
Just ordered one of the 1800mah.. will see how this works out!

Question, I hear that there are different captivate battery's. some are better then others of the same "kind"
Where is the best place to buy a GOOD battery?
Are the ones on amazon most likely newer? or older crappy ones?
correct me if im wrong but from my readings on forums apparently samsung had a batch of terrible battery's before there were good ones?
and is the standard samsung battery good? or is there a better battery I could buy?
Thanks.

Battery arrived yesterday. It is exactly the same as the one that came with the phone. It charged up fine and I've been using for 10 hrs today and still at 45%.
I purchased the "2 battery and wall charger" for $25 on amazon at christmas, and have been using them since. I keep one of the new ones fully charged in my backpack(emergency backup), and swap between the stock and the other one i got from amazon. They are good imitation batteries, but not identical to stock, and I estimate that they have about 90% of the capacity of stock.
The wall charger also has a USB out to charge the phone, but i find that the digitizer acts funny and the touch feature is greatly impacted when the phone is charging via the USB on the wall charger. Other than that, the batteries charge in the phone as well, and the stock battery charges fine on the wall charger, though the wall charger definitely charges slower than the stock one.

+1 on getting genuine Samsung battery!
Every hicap I ever used for my smart phones, usually swell up quickly (start within a few weeks), and then they don't even last as long as an OEM 1500mah battery. I even had one pop the battery cover off, and leak!
When you get your battery (no matter where you get it from) make sure it's not swollen anywhere (check it often too!), and also make sure it was manufactured within the past year. Old stock, even OEM old stock, is a hit or miss thing... always make sure you are getting good "new" batteries.
LiPol / LiIon batteries deteriorate over time, and are sensitive to heat, keep your battery as cool as you can, and it will last you a long time.

I wouldn't be so sure. I'd bet $8 my OEM 2.1Ah battery will hold a longer charge in 3 months than this thing will. That's assuming it doesn't explode in a horrific pants accident that leaves you scarred and unable to have children before then.
I just ordered two. There was a 5% off the entire order promo code on the site and I used the free shipping one too. $26 for two. I will need extra battery life for some things I have coming up so even if they last as long as the 2150mAh I have now it will get me through the day.

I agree with the post that you replied to. He didn't state the facts and science because maybe he doesn't know them, but hey, I do I used to be a battery pack designer for a components distributorship and worked directly with Panasonic, Sanyo, among other big name brands. For $8, the only way you could make a 3800mAh battery is if you used low grade cells from an unregulated source, and connected them with thin and basically worthless tabs. Additionally, the thermristors etc would be very cheap, meaning that they would not work very well when put under any kind of non-standard load or heat.
For the average Joe who only uses their device for phone calls and occasional data, no problem. You'd -most likely- be fine using this type of battery pack and get a good 4-6 months out of it before it stopped holding a charge at all. However, if you're loading custom ROM's or Kernel's on it and pushing the device beyond it's standard use, you're opening yourself up to unexpected results with this cheap of a battery. Would you hook up a window A/C unit with a 16 or 18 AWG extension cord (presuming you're using an extension cord at all)? No, you're putting yourself at a huge fire risk by doing that. You'd use a 12 AWG cord instead, so that it could handle the power being pulled by the A/C unit. Same thing with these batteries. If you use thin, worthless nickel (assuming they're nickel at all) and not the thickness to spec, it could heat up very quickly and cause damage to the cells, device, or worse.
Can anyone recommend a good portable charger for the GNex? I would prefer one that uses AA batteries if possible since I have quite a few sets of Eneloops stocked up to use with my flashes.
Would it be possible to charge up the GNex's standard battery at least once with a set of 4 fresh Eneloops?
I purchased one of these 4xAA battery holders with the on/off switch. I haven't been able to measure the amperage output; specs weren't listed with the product.
You'll see them floating around the internet from various electronics/hobby stores for a couple of bucks.
You definitely need "fast charging mode" for it to charge at a decent rate while using the Gnex. I used franco's Milestone6 kernel to enable fast charging mode.

Thanks. I've got Trinity Kernel on mine so I can enable fast charging if needed.
How much of a charge can you typically get off a set of AAs?
I personally use the New Trent 5000mAh external charger, and love it. Works with not only my phones, but my tablets as well.

In the long run, I think it's priced right, and it recharges your phone quick!
why would u want AA battery based chargers? there are pretty good battery packs available >5000mah for 25$ n up. Search on ebay/buy.com or aliexpress.

Actually, I haven't kept track of the charges because I haven't received the rechargabl batteries yet. I'm afraid to charge my phone with the alkalines in it because of the voltage (1.5v x 4 = 6v).
Rechargables are better for these types of battery holders/charges because the voltage is in a safer range (4.8v ~ 5.2v). I'll let you know once I pick them up from the post office; they've already arrived and I just need to find some time to pick them up!

I went with AA-based charger because all batteries eventually lose their charge; I wanted the option of easily replacing the batteries at a cheaper price.
It made more sense to me to pay $17 for 10800mAh (from 4 x AA rechargable batteries) for this setup, versus paying $25 for 5000mAh portable charger. And, it would only cost me $13 to replace the batteries when they stopped holding a charge.

I was looking at instructibles, there are a few altoid solar chargers that you can make with AA batteries. should check it out, I will prolly build a few in the future, just lazy to get the batteries.
Do an Amazon search for an anker external battery. I got one of those for my sensation a while ago. They come with adapters for i-devices, android and even some other devices. Mine has 8400mah which makes it charge my phone about 4.x times. It can even charge 2 devices at once (1 @ [email protected])
Prices range from about 25-35$ depending on size
Sent from my HTC Sensation using xda app-developers app
I recently got this because I had a lot of spare eneloops lying around. In 90 mins I get about 20%. For whatever reason when the phone stops charging, I can plug it into my friend's One X and his phone will continue charging where as the Nexus will charge for maybe another minute and then stop, not sure whats going on there but otherwise its a very good product. 34$ and free shipping on ebay, but I actually got it as a gift straight from japan
