Before i flashed Calkulin's 2.8 on my dad's phone, i had a bluetooth speaker phone synced with it. After flashing the rom i think that control app was removed with rom. I think it had something to do with the widget that's on the 1st page to the left when you first turn the phone on.

That sounds like VoiceToGo (Vlingo). Calkulin removed that and some other apps and placed them in /sdcard/Removed_Apps. You can install VoiceToGo.apk from there.

Ok so I read in another forum that I could rename the HTC lock screen apk, not delete incase of problems glad I listened. Well it worked great I had the stock lock screen which is what I wanted. The problem came the next morning when my alarm went off. I was unable to turn it off. Does anyone have any suggestions because I like the stock lock screen but not being able to turn off the alarm is not an option.

You need to use the AOSP clock/alarm. If I wasn't on my evo, id attatch it for you.

What is that I have not heard of that yet, I am still new to this rooting stuff. I am also concerned because I am reading a lot of people having trouble restoring with Amon Ra. I installed amon ra thinking that it was better than clockwork but now I'm concerned that may have been the wrong thing.

You want to use that aosp clock app instead of the htc one. The htc alarm clock can only be used with the HTC lockscreen, as they are tied together somehow. Since you're using the aosp lockscreen now, you must also use the aosp clock/alarm app instead of the htc one. Otherwise you won't be able to shut your alarm off. Hope that helps clear it up a little bit.
Its the CM7 clock app the same thing as the aosp clock app. what does aosp stand for any way.

Yes, correct. CM7 is AOSP. AOSP= Android Open Source Project . (Not Sense based)

Glad you're all set. And yes, xda is a fantastic forum, that's for sure.
Quick question do I need to install that apk our just place it in a, if so which one? I also down loaded CM7 and I can not find any file name aosp_clock.apk. There is a DeskClock.apk that is comes in the CM7. Not that I don't trust "thebeast614" I do a lot of security work and am I a paranoid kinda person. No disrespect to thebeast614.

Ok after doing more reading and looking I have found that I should be able to take the DesktopClock.apk out of CM7 place it in the /system/apps location give it full permissions, "chmod 777" or with Root Explorer and then I can re-remove the HTCLockScreen.apk and HTCLockScreen.odex, just rename them in case I have to go back. Then after a reboot I would have the stock Android lock screen, which I have done before, but this time with the DesktopClock.apk I should be able to control the alarm better, ie turn it off. Now do I just place the DesktopClock.apk in the /system/apps or do I install it from say Root Explorer. My other question is currently in my stock Evo sense ui, under all apps there is a Desk Clock app, will that be replaced or will there be another app for the DesktopClock.apk that I installed.

Ok so this is what I ended up with and yes it worked thanks to the help of the people on this forum.
1st Have Root
2nd Root Explorer (I guess you could use adb but I find it sometimes easier to use root explorer for soemthing.)
3rd Rename HTCLockScreen.apk to HTCLockScreen.apk_bak and HTCLockScreen.odex to HTCLockScreen.odex_bak. I reason I renamed and not deleted is so I could easily go back if I want to. Deleting will work as well but may sure you have a back first.
4th I installed the DesktopClock.apk from CM6 the latest stable version. Just downloaded the zip file opened it took the DesktopClock.apk out and installed it from the sd card.
5th Restarted the phone and enjoyed the Android lock screen. You have to leave the HTC Clock on the phone or the phone will freak out. make sure to turn off all the HTC alarms off and re-enter the alarms in the new Android clock.
Is anyone able to get the notification volume up to what it was in DI18? Since EB13 came around they cut it down to where you can barely hear it and the ringer is obnoxiously loud. Being I text mostly having the louder notification volume would be ideal for me.
IIRC I think someone patched this up in DK28 but I haven't seen anything on it since.

Thanks for the quick patch. Threw you a few bones for the trouble, not to mention you have the smoothest running kernel out for the Epic in my experience.

+1 Rodderick. Exactly what I needed. Thanks.
Does this increase the overall "SPEAKER" Volume, or just the notification volume?

Now make it work on EF02! lol
Yeah if you can make it work for EF02 it would be awesome.
has any one tried this on ef02? it may work fine...i haven't looked at the files but i'd say make a backup in cwm and flash it and let us know if it works...worst case is you have restore a backup no harm done
if it doesn't work then i will make one that works for ef02
well i just compared the stock files from ec05 to ef02 and they are indeed different so i'll have to make a new one for gingerbread...not going to have time to do it today but i'll churn one up soon

Starting today none of my notification sounds work. Not texts, email, etc. I even uninstalled handcent and installed go sms and nothing. When I try to pick a sound it just freezes. Ringdroid freezes when I hit the play button. If I try to change the sound through menu settings I get a settings force close.
I reinstalled the rom and kernel, fixed permissions, wiped caches and nothing. Other audio works.
I am running srf 1.2 with genocide 1.1 kernel.
Any idea how to fix this?
Thanks in advance.

Did this happen after you installed the kernel or rom? If so that might be something to consider

Mine stopped working because I forgot to follow a step in the guide it was
" If you are not on an EC05 rom or SyndicateROM Frozen 1.0.1/1.0.2/1.1.0/1.1.1: Use Odinto flash the EC05 modem. UNCHECK EVERYTHING EXCEPT "AUTO REBOOT". Ensure you are on CWM3.1.0.1. Wipe data for best results, and flash the ROM. "
Hope it helps

Its either a Voodoo issue or something in the kernel. Rodderik is aware of the issue and looking into it. A simple reboot will fix it sometimes otherwise, ehat Shoulon said

I had this problem once SRF 1.1.1 when I was on it. I had to back up my SD card and format it on my PC; then copied all important files back to card.
I tried this and it did not help. No matter what kernel I use notifications and ring droid do not work

Hey guys,
I've seen this mod for other phones, does anyone know if there's one available for the Epic 4G Touch? It would be spectacularly helpful for when I'm listening to music in the car.
Thanks!
Unnamed ROM has it built in. Works with every music app according to the developer.

Very cool thanks. Do you know if the mod itself is available to use with other ROM's? I was using MidnightROM and switched to Unnamed recently and I'm not super fond of it in comparison. I wanted to try some other ROM's but this particular mod is super handy for me.

It's part of the framework so probably not.
I know what you mean though. I used this with CM7 on my EVO and loved it. I'm glad to have it back again. I've searched high & low on the market for an app to do this and found nothing that does this quite the same.
