[Q] Yellow photos w. flash on. - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Whenever i take a pic with flash it gets the yellow colour tint that seems to be a general issue. Im wondering if this is softrelated, or if it's faulty hardware, or maybe even bad engineering by Samsung? Will there be a fix for this or should i return this phone?
Galaxy Nexus stock

I get the same with my Nexus. I'm not that impressed.

It's most likely software related. If you switch the setting from auto to either incandescent or fluorescent while indoors, the result will be much better.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App

Lets hope it is. The GNex is really awesome in every other (no_soft_related) way so i really like to keep it. Is it possible that CM will have this fixed before google or Sam will?
Galaxy Nexus stock

I get exactly the same as well
hopefully it's software related and will be fixed soon

I sent a mail to Samsung Sweden. They haven't heard of this issue. And the blame google for it, more or less.

I tried setting the whitebalance manually, and it seems to work jst fine. Makes me think this is will be fixed in an update... eventually.

I'm using camera zoom for picture taking, and my experience is that the pictures are much better with that app(not yellow with flash on) .

Got my new phon today. Photos was still yellow. Then i got the update to 4.0.2, and the colours was just fine.

That's all it took? One response and you're convinced?? Go get the effin phone already and stop being so passive. Mmmkaypumpkin? Lol

I don't have it yet but I'll be coming from the at&t GS2. To me dev support is extremely important. So what better phone to have than the nexus.
I currently still have the s2 as well, I kept it just incase I changed my mind, but never use it now, just love this phone!

Ditto , I kept my s2 thinking I might want to go back to it but I love the GN so have decided to sell my s2.
Both amazing devices, but the nexus is in incredible. Go nexus.

Yeh still got my gs2 but to me I brows the internet and watch videos a lot so screen Res was a major thing for me, also honestly the s2 looked a little like the ip4 also had that, would pic the gn over the ip4 and the gs2 any day, I also notice less issues on the forums with this phone with the gs2 it was full of buggs lucky I just had some battery drain but that was it. Get the gn its a great phone.

I have no regrets whatsoever getting the Nexus.
The higher screen resolution is a plus for me...as I like to pick the smallest fonts possible to put more info on screen.
The Nexus feels better in hand probably due to the slight curve in design.
K before the store opens I know you guys think I jumped the gun and made my decision on one comment but it seems likea war between s2 lovers vs prime lovers and you hear so many good answers just so hard to tell who is telling the truth or they are just making up ****. also wanna say is that Im not that good with phones meaning that I I'm not going to root or put custom roms on it also is it also true that the nexus won't sync up with computer but it syncs everything automatically to a cloud kinda like icloud if? I like how easy the s2 works please help I'm messed up
Sent from my GT-I9100M using Tapatalk
meaning is the s2 easier to use than the nexus cause I payed 600 for the s2 and only have tool pay an extra 50 to get the nexus

[CDMA - Sprint & Verizon]How many times you have replace your Galaxy Nexus ?

Ok so I just got my Sprint Galaxy Nexus 3 days ago and this is my second unit about to be my third one.
Issues :
- Media Sound / Alarm (After using headphones with the phone my media sound stop working for some reason and I have to reset it in other to get it working again. This is a known issue from all the LTE Variants, idk about the GSM version.)
- Screen Lines (This issue only kills me when I'm looking at pictures or looking at the lockscreen you see like different colors it bothers me so much.)
Tell me about YOUR Galaxy Nexus.

Nexus physical problems

Hey I would like to order the nexus in the next days. Is the last batches had problems with the screen or any kind of building problems? I know that there is a chance to get a bad device...

I think you may have answered your question, there is always a chance. I got mine long ago and has no issues compared to some people who claim there are flaws. I've yet to experience any.

I just got mine 2 weeks ago and I was slightly worried. While I have image retention issues and a few grainy spots I have yet to get a full "burn in". The best advice I can say is take the leap, I willingly chose this device over the international SIII due to my want to finally own a Google branded flagship... and I couldn't be happier. I played with an SIII a few days ago, and yes, the Exynos quad is bad ass but I love my Nexus. It is a truly unique, and incredible phone. In the end it is all about what you think you can live with, AMOLED is not a perfect technology, and PenTile displays take getting used to, just keep that in mind and you will do just fine
All I had was the purple screen(ordered a white one directly from amazon) then I flashed aokp and trinity and it went away.

Thanks for the comments, guys. I live in Israel and currently I am visiting the US so I afraid I get a bad device and I won't have much time to replace it.

Nexus One Vs. Galaxy Nexus

So there i was cleaning my room -.-' and as i was cleaning i found my old nexus one. It was dead, so I plugged it in.
When i turned the device on, a lot of memories came to mind, as the progress google has made.
But then as i was looking trough it i noticed that it felt kind of fast for it to be a 3 years old. So I put my Gnex running jellybean next to it.
To my surprise every action was faster on the Nexus One? Odd but yeah. Openning Applications like the clock, calendar, browser, settings.
How come a three year old device is faster than the galaxy nexus, i know the gnex has a lot more things to process as well as the size of the screen, but common really? I guess im going to use it as an mp3 player now.
Screen resolution I would guess, gnex is pushing out android in HD 720p and nexus one is what 800x600 perhaps roughly. Also older versions of android I expect are much less complex than jelly bean. The only fair way to test is do a test of stock JB on each device and see which fares better then, but still you have to take into concideration just how many more pixels gnex is pushing out. Cool story though

You could never damage your brain from THC. Just sayin.
I have both too. If you run stock on both (gingerbread vs jelly bean), there is certainly no way the gnex is slower...
For one, the touch response on n1 was pretty bad... its not slow, but to say its faster than gnex is a bit odd.

My N1 is sitting in it's cradle on my kitchen bar and has become an e-mail alert system--I can see the flashing track ball from most points in my main living area when an e-mail comes in.
One place the Galaxy Nexus really excels over the Nexus One is as a music player. I was never impressed with the sound quality of the N1. And with low impedance headphones, there is a periodic thumping sound/artifact, about one thump per second. The Galaxy Nexus, on the other hand, has some of the best sound quality I've heard on a portable music player--at least as good or better than my iPod Classic 120GB.
That brings up one thing the N1 had that I really miss--a microSD card slot. I wish the GN had a modern microSD slot--I'd love to have a 64GB SDXC microSD card in it. I get around this by mounting a flash drive via USB OTG that contains my music collection, but it's definitely not ideal.

Should I buy the Galaxy Nexus?

Hey guys,
I am looking at getting a new phone and my requirements were:
1GB RAM
4.3+ inch screen
720p display.
The Galaxy Nexus caught my eye as it has all those things. I don't have a huge budget (£150, or €175, $225)But I am slightly concerned. Firstly because it is an old piece of kit. Now, that doesn't bother me if it performs well and gets the latest updates, but that's what I am worried about. Secondly because of Dev Support. I need a phone that will be supported for at least a year.
Please tell me what I should do. I am willing to buy a used device. If you think I should get something else, please let me know as to what device you are thinking.
Thanks!
Don't buy this phone.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Xparent Skyblue Tapatalk 2
Extend your budget go for a Nexus 4 or maybe wait for the next Nexus. Galaxy Nexus is a great phone but let's face it, it's been around for a while... And I doubt if it'll get official updates for the coming year
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
If you want it, then buy an extended battery with it and IMHO one should also buy the charging port flex board which may stop working anytime.
Whether or not it gets official updates, it will receive the custom ROMs. But then again why would you go for a 2 year old product?
Get the n4 or the n5 when it releases
Get the s4 or wait for new nexus at end of year.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Go for nexus 4.....though I'm not saying that Galaxy Nexus is not good, but it has now become somewhat old and won't get support from Google as Nexus 4 will get. Though you always will have support from the custom ROMs....but not stock ROM from Google itself.....so go for Nexus 4 rather than GN.

Screw n4 and its iphone-ish glass back
Okay, popular opinion suggests that the N4 is my choice. Is there anywhere I can pick it up within my budget?
Thanks!

The n4 is old as well, considering the new nexus will be out in a few months, the n4 has been a blunder from day one an forgotten about due to its terrible launch an unavailability, so people just decided to boycott it an skip it altogether, lg have even said themselves it wasn't on the list of priorities to get that phone out, I don't think google would bother asking lg a second time to make another nexus with that kind of poor effort or attitude.

So here I am.
I have been watching a load of videos comparing it to Samsung flagships, HTC flagships and some weird devices made by a fruit company. The hardware has EVERYTHING I want for my upgrade. Almost double every spec to my current phone. My only concern is updates. Does this device have 4.2.2 Officially? Will there be 4.3 and 5.0 for it unofficially, if not officially? I need it to last for a year.
If you can answer my questions, I will be extremely grateful. My other option is the Xperia S, but it costs too much, bigger camera then I need and no official 4.1
Thanks Again!
Android 4.2.2 is officialy suported on the galaxy nexus and 4.3 will normally be that too but for 5.0 nobody knows.
And yeah I love the phone and it's getting old but it is still a good phone

I bought mine a few months ago for exactly the same as your budget and I am more than happy with it yes it's old but not everyone can afford to get a nexus 4 and to be honest it's a bit to much like the iPhone with it's glass back the gnex gives you plenty of bang for your buck IMO

If you don't need the good cam, HDMI and so on, go for a GNex. As far as dev support's concerned there's no need to be worried, even the Google Nexus S (maybe the WFS too?) will get Android 5 (unofficially).
