Hello, I've got my HTC Desire for a week now (and lovin' it!), but I can't seem to get rid of the weather forecast in my calendar. The phone already has 2 weather widgets and I don't need a 3rd one clogging up my calendar.
There is an checkbox option in the calendar menu that says "Include weather" (menu > more > settings > calendarview settings > include weather), but nothing happens if I switch it off. It continues to place weather forecasts in the current and next 3 days.
How do I switch it off? Is this just a bug or am I doing something wrong? Please help!
Go into the calendar and then menu>calendars>uncheck weather.
Took me a while to find that one. You can also uncheck a few other things in there.

I love you! Topic can be closed.
Is there a way to get Birthdays and Holidays from my Windows Live calendar to sync to the calendar in my WP7 device?
Thanks,
Dave
If you've added the LIVE account for your Windows Live calendar to your phone, and checked the option to sync the calendar, it seems like these events should show up on the phone.
Can you try adding another event to your Windows Live calendar on the web and making sure that syncs down to the phone?

I've found out how to merge multiple Google calendars, but haven't found a way to do it with Live calendars. Bit of a bummer.

goto hotmail web on your desktop. along the top, hover over hotmail, and select contacts. put a tick next to the contacts you want to merge into one. just above the list you see a "manage" option, hover over that and select combine contacts.
presto. contacts merged. these changes should be pretty instant on the phone. otherwise you can goto settings > emails & accounts > press & hold windows live, and synchronise.

Calendars, not contacts. What I really want is birthdays to automatically be added to my calendar.
aww ok, then in that instance, i'm not too sure. haven't really looked into it.

I think the thread title says it all. I added a birthdate in a contact and it doesn't show up in the calendar. But the birthdate of another friend is shown (which is stored in contacts too).
Now I don't know if this date was saved manually by me or did it work once with the calendar?
For this you have to go in the settings of your Google Calendar (on the web), then Calendar tab -> Browser interesting's calendars and subscribe to the Contacts' birthdays and events calendar
This is awesome. I never knew about these. Kinda hard to find. The instructions about KINDA get you there.
Step 1
google.com/Calendar
in the left panel at the bottom - Other Calendars; click little Arrow -> Browse Interesting Calendars
Holidays is the first tab. US Holidays is a good one.
More Tab -> Contacts' Bday and Events = Bingo
Step 2
Then on your PHONE go to Calendar > Menu > Calendars to Display
Click "Calendars to Sync" button
Select which ones to sync from the ones you selected in the first step.
Pretty cool stuff. Learn something every day.
I have Moon Phase, Birthdays, US Holidays.
I have to agree that this not the most intuitive feature
but thanks for the more detailed instructions
Very good tip and instructions. Many thanks.
I didn't even realize this was an option. I gave up on it a long time ago. Thanks for the tips guys.

Most useful post I've read all day.
Thanks!
It is nice, but for some reason, google made it impossible to get a notification for these events. Anyone find a workaround for doing that? All I can think of is to copy each to a new calendar in the web interface - but that is clunky and tedious
Hi!
This is really annoying.
I have unchecked every calendar except my main one.
But the birthdays from the Facebook-calendar is still showing as a notice on the lockscreen. Is there someway around this? Or do I have to send an error report to HTC?
Cheers

Go to Personalize > Lock Screen Style > Productivity* > Settings > Display calendar events from... and select/deselect ones you want to show.
*this assumes you are using this particular theme/skin for locked screen.
I was doing the same as you, thought unchecking the FB calendar in Calendar options/settings would do the trick but no joy - took me a while to figure this out!
Hope it works.

Tryed that, didn't work,i think is a lock screen bug,i am using MILocker now.
As stated above. I does not work, that was the first thing I tried.
It worked for me.
Are you both stock or custom & are you running latest Facebook version?
Perhaps try uninstalling the Facebook app, clearing the app cache & re-installing might help. Then deselect Facebook calendar under app sync options, calendar view and then lock screen settings just to be thorough.
Failing that, not sure what else to try except a hard reset if it bothers you that much!

Does anyone know how to disable the reminders that appear 12 hours before every birthday on facebook? I'm more than happy to see them in the agenda widget but that's about it.
Cheers
Try to uncheck Facebook from Calendar, not sure if it helps.
are you using the Facebook app or the mobile site?
I don't get any reminders inside the Facebook app.
I think you are referring to the birthday reminders from the calendar app which sync all your Facebook friends birthdays. so if you want to disable those reminders follow these steps:
1-go to the calendar app in the app drawer.
2-go to: menu (top right of the screen)> settings> default reminder.
3-choose the time you want the reminders to popup (in your case check "none").
I hope this was useful.
