Does unlocking the bootloader, installing CWM or installing CM7 root the device??
Can I do all of this without rooting??
I ask because I use Good for enterprise email that doesn't function on rooted devices but still want to install CM7

i know i`m rooted but the main problem is the radio, its causing heavy loss of speed over wifi network so i`m asking for the root on stock 2.2.1 wherein wifi works perfect and if i am not wrong its the radio downgrade that used to happen during the actual rooting process of downgrading the O.S. after S-OFF`ing the device so i also mentioned about the radio onto my actual post.
Ah, okay, to root stock firmwares you need to download a superuser.zip.
Get it from here: http://androidsu.com/superuser/

Sorry i dont know much about it so can u help me out in this and provide me the necessary links:fingers-crossed:
Download the recovery from here: http://www.mediafire.com/?398dklf1uzss5f6
Put it on the root of your SD card (not in any folders)
Boot the phone into the bootloader
Allow the update
Turn phone off and remove SD card
Boot into the recovery
If you did all this correct, you should now have CWM recovery installed.

Do u mean to do this when on android 2.2.1?
Yes, boot into the OS and put the file on your SD card, then boot back into the bootloader.
Also once you have got a stock rom rooted download this https://play.google.com/store/apps/...utm_medium=organic&utm_term=busybox+installer and install busybox as some root apps won't work without it....

No problem
Hey, I have a DHD, which I had rooted, and in order to get it to the stok rom, I flashed it to 2.3.3. it and unrooted it with market app(because my usb is not working, thats why I flashed to stock, so I can send it to HTC). However, I can still access bootloader with volume down + power, and I cant update my DHD, because after rebooting, the phone start in bootloader mode and doesnt update. When I choose the update file in bootloader, it shows some kind of error, but I dont think thats a problem with the update file, but with the bootloader not able to install that file.
Do you have any solutions on how I could update it, or hide the bootloader?
Thanks a lot
Can you explain what you are exactly trying to achieve? Does the device automatically go into bootloader when you boot the device?
Are you s-off?

I'm trying to update my phone through the "official" android updater, but after downloading the update, the phone automatically reboots into boot loader, so the update doesnt load. Yes, im s-off
Do you have a custom recovery? If you have you won't be able to do the OTA update as it requires stock Android recovery.

What will happen if I flash stock rom through the 4EXT? Will the bootloader still be accesible or not?
How do you charge your phone?
And if you flash stock rom trough recovery, bootloader will still be accessible and you will still have 4ext as recovery. I read somewhere that you could get the stock Android recovery from a RUU.EXE

I just charged the battery in friends DHD, I'll try to find it.
I can't be fun not being able to charge your phone on your own? :'(
Btw Here is Latest HTC Desire HD RUU Download here.
Or you could download a pre rooted stock rom from the development section.

Yeah, I could try that, but first I have to find how to get the stock recovery from the RUU. Or maybe i'll just send it to the servos without doing anything. Do you thing they will repair it? Because my problem is a hardware problem, it has nothing to do with the fact I have rooted my phone and change the boot loader
I've unlocked the bootloader. but m not able to install ics. Please somebody help me out.

Just flash supersu through your custom recovery (which I'm assuming you have since you s-off'd. If you don't have one, let me know and I'll tell you how to get one.
