There's an Overclocked Kernel In the Development section, I remember seeing it.
EDIT: Okay, found it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1430677

The best thing about this unlock from HTC is we have a whole new bunch of people ready and willing to help others now that they've been helped.
Cheers to yourself, Gloris, etc.

Keep the kernel that came with CyanogenMod 6.0.1 or use a different one, that is the question.

If none of the other kernels work, I suppose that answers my question. I was under the impression that you could use any kernel with any rom.

Nooooo. Most kernels will list ROMs they were tested on to determine compatibility and stability...
For instance, KingxKlick's kernels are specifically meant for 2.2 Sense ROMs, no others i.e. CM6...
I mean you can always try kernels I guess. I mean that's what nandroid is for, right
There is no other kernel that works with CM6.

Well, as I don't care much about flashing lots of cooked ROMs which are released on the development section all the time, or even going back to the stock Eclair ROM, I decided to flash the full version. Decision I haven't regreted so far, by the way. But, that's my particular case! So, if you plan to flash CM7, I think it will be better for you to pick the fixed version.

Carlos

I don't know much, either. Android is new to me as well. Anyway, what I've called 'full', ketonkss4 has called 'Regular'. It's the ROM as leaked from Moto. As far as I know, a fixed ROM is recooked to remove some CGs, which would prevent your device from being downgraded, if you intended to do so.
Anyway, here is a guide for flashing CM7, in case you haven't already read it, that is.

Carlos
Thanks for the help too

I can't say for certain that these will work with the stock ROM, but they are your best bet.
UnityV4
Virtuous Sense a7
Have you conisidered try a custom ROM? if you want to keep it as stock as possible I recommended Virtuous Sense 2.0
Try unity v4 kernel, its for all sense based runs. Let's you OC up to 1.7 ghz. Link is in my signature.

It is sense 2.1, it is based off the official 2.3.3 DZ update, think of it as what you have all ready but with optimizations.
Oh and welcome to the DZ forums.

That is correct, download rom manager, flash CWM, boot in to CWM and flash .zip
Easy, but if you need anymore help, hop over to the Virtuous Rom IRC and I will be happy to talk you through it

There is a way but I'm very well versed in how to do it. If you read the DZ/G2 wiki it links you to a guide on to root 2.3.3.
if you need further help head to the 'G2ROOT IRC channel
I updated to the 2.3.3 OTA too, and I followed this guide here :

Worked perfectly well

[Q] stock kernel with oc capability and clockword mod usable for r800x

I am actually fairly pleased with the stock rom, after root the r800x is so much better with the crap gone. I am actually hoping that there is a stock kernel availble with CWM and able to OC. thanks in advance

stock kernel with o/c isn't a dumb question. But wanting CWM too is
I think it would be easier just to make an o/c module.
the only reason I asked because before this I had a htc incredible and I had a rom that was stock and I could oc it too, that phone had such bad battery life when I got this one I rooted/unlocked it and saw that overall dev is still in the early stages and I was happy with the phones performance so I thought maybe I would ask.
Stock kernel with CWM is possible (I think, 70%). Just please send me CDMA kernel.sin

Well, you see that I'm busy with unlocking phones. I'm modifying touchscreen driver too and it's delaying the release.

Stock kernel for HTC Desire?

Does anyone have a link for a stock kernel which would be compatible with my set up (in sig)?
I want to try a stock rom to see if I can get sky go to work on my desire as it can't be used on a rooted device, others have had success by changing their kernel.
Thanks in advance.
As far as I know you are stuck with thalamus' kernel if you are running Oxygen rom.

So it is. But imho that's not really a disadvantage: _thalamus' kernel is a good one.

I agree. He does come to me as somewhat arrogant but I got to admit the dude haz teh skillz.
Could I try a stock rom and kernel and then go back to my current set up or would I then be unrooted?
Well you can "try" and flash the kernel I am using I suppose... but as far as I know it will break your camera and probably some other stuff I don't know. Do a nandbackup just in case you want to be adventurous. You only wanna find out if Sky would work if you change kernels first right?

Yes that's right, it has to be a stock kernel as sky do a check on the kernel before the stream loads apparently.
Well if it's stock kernel that it requires, then you have to use the official Sense based rom and kernel. All sense roms here uses a custom kernel so you are out of luck. You can't use Sense kernel on AOSP roms anyway.
OK cheers
I will have to wait for techy people to hack the sky go app then.
Depending on how Sky works, you can try and flash one those sense based roms. Who knows, the custom kernel they have might work. I have the impression that they are all based on the original sense kernel anyway. Or just wait for someone to hack the app.
