Sometimes my screen rotate when in browser or an app that supports rotation the accelerometer lags behind a bit
Anyone else had this ?

It has to do with the animation speed mostly. You can adjust that in developer options.
I have them all off.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
if you are talking about that 1 second delay that's normal.
Nope
I'm talking
"Why havent you rotatated"
Tap tap
OK
Still not rotating
Tap tap tap
Ah, there ya go.

Maybe twice a day.

Can't say I've seen that. How annoying.
On the Galaxy Nexus??? well that's a surprise.

I'm pretty surprised to see people saying that they have not experienced it. It's one of the worst bugs with the phone and lots of people are experiencing it:
http://code.google.com/p/android/is...=ID Type Status Owner Summary Stars&start=300
I'm on 4.0.3. Maybe that is why.
yeah I know that problem. experienced it mainly allot in the browser
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
If you need to tap the phone to get the accelerometer to work, then it's probably faulty and you should ask fro an exchange/repair.
But if you are just experiencing a small delay, that's apparently a feature in ICS to prevent accidental rotation. At first I found it incredibly annoying but it actually works in preventing unwanted rotations.
Galaxy Nexus CDMA stock 4.02 here. It has definitely been a problem for me. It takes a good 2+3 full seconds to rotate for me. Lucky for me i spend 90% of my time in portrait.
VZW GN and yeah I got the same thing. Its really annoying but I cant tell if its more or less annoying than having the screen accidentally rotate...
Either way this should be something we can control in the developer options, like give us a time delay before screen will rotate.

Hey guys, my galaxy nexus seems to have a small technical issue. Whenever I use the keyboard and press the home soft key, the keyboard remains on the screen for a couple of seconds.
I am running the AOKP Milestone 3 from with the apex kernel (happened with other kernels as well)
I have a screenshot but it refuses to let me upload, but if anyone wants to know what it looks like please let me know.

They all do this. Only thing to do is just deal with it unfortunately.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
well thats sucks. Thanks for replying, but if anybody else has any other information it is greatly appreciated
Its about 0.5 seconds before it retracts. Someone posted a video already. Didnt bother me at all though its so brief...
Unfortunately it's just how it is. I definitely share your frustration though, I usually lower the keyboard prior to closing whatever app is using it to avoid this. It's not just stock keyboard either, Swype does it as well.

Its really annoying. Although it is nothing that makes me angry, its just a bother...
It stays up just a touch longer than the closing of the app using it. I'd say < .5 seconds. If its up any longer then that's not normal.
Hey guys, something has really bothered me lately. The whole OS is so smooth and all, but everytime I leave an app or leave the app drawer then opening it again has a very nasty lag that is a very big turn off. I searched for this issue and saw that I wasnt the only one who had this problem.
Here is the same lag on the Nexus 7:
http://youtu.be/cK8n54YiabE?t=4m55s
and on the Galaxy Nexus:
http://youtu.be/qN3EXAFRxKQ?t=4m23s
Could anyone tell me how to why this issue is found on Jelly Bean and how to fix it? I'm on stock 4.1.1 btw.
get apex launcher and turn off the app drawer fly in animation.
i noticed this too,but only in the first page of the app drawer...

Dude, how can you even count that as lag? I run Ubuntu 12 on my laptop and it lags like ****. I run Windows 7 on a high-end desktop.. it lags like **** sometimes. There is seriously about 0.1ms of lag there, get over it.
Does it bother you that it takes several seconds for your web browser to open XDA? "Damnit, this bothers me!!! The interwebz LAGS!!!"
At first I thought you were running ics which does have lag, then I saw the nexus 7 video. I watched it and started laughing my ass off, there's not even a slight bit of lag in that. And my device doesn't lag neither.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Maybe my eyes are lagging, I missed it.
I can't believe people are so obsessed with micro lag that is not even visible to 80% of people. Suck it up already, no need to tell the whole world about how your app drawer launches 0.1 mill second slower. Its not the end of the world.

I really hated the lag on my old moto flip phone from 5 years ago. This phone flies

My suggestion is to have yourself cryogenically frozen. We will wake you up one day in the future when all lag has been eliminated! :cyclops:

Yes, but not when opening the drawer, but switching to the next page.
And I wouldn't call it laggy, it just reacts with delay to the swipe. The swipe itself is perfectly smooth.
SMH.
I saw it!
Oh, no wait, I didn't. You crazy, bro.
Have you tried setting window animation scale, transition animation scale, and animator duration scale in settings --> developer settings to 0.5x or 0x at all?
I know exactly what you're talking about, so don't worry about everyone else. Unfortunately I don't have a fix for it either.

Even that lag is nonexistent if you wait a split second to scroll after opening the drawer. It's called the launcher has to populate the apps and widgets on first launch/scroll. If you launch the drawer and go for the first scroll "as fast as you possibly can" then you're just purposely looking for a microsecond of lag to complain about.

I love this keyboard because of the auto correct feature and the amount of options you can choose. For some reason while I'm typing sometimes it will do double letters and it's at random. Sometimes it will look like this "HHey what aree you doing?" Am I the only one with this issue. Using it on my completely stock AT&T galaxy s3.

I haven't experienced that issue but it will ocasionally say I hit a letter than I didnt

It's my favourite keyboard, I use it every day in the past 10 months or so, didn't have this problem either. (Used it on atrix, vivid and hox). Maybe the screen is a little too sensitive?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
There is no way of adjusting the sensitivity of the screen from my understanding. I just am curious if I'm the only one to have this problem or if someone else has experienced it at all doing the same thing. I don't know I'll try not typing so light and see if that makes a difference. If someone has had this problem and they fixed it please let me know how.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
Has anyone seen if maybe it's the speed at which you're typing. If I type slow its not so bad. If I start typing faster it starts putting the double letters. Just trying to figure this out. Thanks for the information in advance.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
I have the same issue. I type pretty fast and it always has that double letter issue and even sometimes has double words even though I only enter it once. I decided to stick with the stock ics keyboard from the play store which works great without any typos with my quick typing
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
Who is the developer of the keyboard you're using?

I definitely have this issue, and am using 4.6.00.147 version of the app (the most recent I believe) as I don't see any update in the Play Store. I love this keyboard, but this part of it is very frustrating. So much to the point that I went back to the stock AOSP keyboard, but I want this to be fixed.
EDITED: I've reached out to the developer to see if there is any idea on what's causing/how to fix. I will post any updates if I get any that are constructive.
Why does Google do such weird things all the time? I know other people have to think the same thing about why they design an OS the way they do. For instance clicking the clock in the status bar takes u to time settings instead of clock or calendar(when we all have auto time enabled)? And I'm pretty sure(at least I hope) its a bug, but the stupid new camera rotation is beyond dumb. And why they took the so much fun camera effects out, I may never know... I do love Google but just question their Dev team sometimes... sometimes a lot
But that is why we have these wonderful devs across the forums. I can't thank you guys/gals enough!!!!

The slow camera rotation is intentional. The Android Dev team spoke about it. As for camera effects, I don't know how many people actually used them. Sure, Mac users seem to use them quite a bit, but I don't know about Android users.

Yea I meant alarms.. Lol. Or even clock app would be smart
Why on EARTH would u want camera lag when changing the phone orientation... Then u end up missing Ur shot!
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
The rotation lag doesn't bug me too much. It usually takes a second or less to rotate. I usually know what orientation I want my picture to be, so I'll press the camera app in that orientation.

Just lock rotation when you want to use your camera, if you are using a rom with toggle rotation it wont be that hard to press a toggle.
I personally always disabled rotation, and only enabled it when i want to use it.

Another thing that bothers me is app drawer. the black background is still stuck in the Gingerbread era.
If I lock rotation to to a pic in landscape its going to take the picture in portrait but I guess u could just rotate it in the gallery... But still useless as fuhk. I'd rather deal with the lag of swiping to my pictures than the actual camera itself... Come one Google... You're better than this... Back to 4.1 camera I am

What is this Touchwiz lag on stock Galaxy devices people keep mentioning?
I don't have any lag, if you don't like it flash aosp rom. If there are touchwiz specific apps features then you have to way out the pros and cons

Can you give an example? Could be user error in some cases. touchwiz has been great for me and haven't experienced this lag that you have mentioned.

Well, I just got my Note II yesterday and haven't noticed a problem. I heard about it mainly on the S4 though. But some people always criticize TW as laggy. I guess they mean the occassional force close or little glitch or bug?
The lag issue, I believe, most user's are referring to is the "phone wake up lag"
When you wake the phone after it has been off for a few seconds it doesn't instantly turn on.There is a lag..
When you hit your power button to turn on and access your smart phone you would expect it to be instantaneous. It is not.
I don't expect anything to be instantaneous. I think people over do it sometimes.

I actually expect my phone to know in about to hit the power button and turn on by itself.
Seriously though I think that is the lag people talk about and it can be pretty annoying at times. That's why I love the zero wake lag mod!
