NEW Full Circle Battery Mod - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Well I do believe this is my first actual thread made for any of my work. I normally just outsource for other devs but I thought I may actually make a post of something.
This is a battery mod I've been working on simply because I haven't seen a lot of them and most are the traditional circle battery mod so I decided to be different. It is an unbroken circle that wanes down and is edited in 1% increments the entire way. That means you will need a ROM that supports this.
If you would like to use this in your theme, PLEASE ask me first. All I ask is for a little credit and that is all
This is NOT a flashable zip. You must either edit your SystemUI.apk file yourself or you can use my provided Metamorph theme and flash it through that.

Thanks to nbeebe24 for changing the images to ICS Blue for me.

Already using it in my theme Thanks for this.

Looks good. Is it possible to get a metamorph based battery with ICS blue?

Hi,
Is it possible to flash this through Recovery Mod over the ICS rooted stock ROM?
Thanks by advance,

I will work on editing the color to different colors as soon as I have time. As of right now, I only have the white because I made this for Nitroz haha.
I'm afraid not because it requires actual files inside the APK itself to be modified.
The problem with the stock ROM is that it calls for percentages at odd intervals and would be completely inaccurate. 100, 85, 71, 57, 43, 29, 15, and 0 I do believe. So your phone would only read off those percentages until you flashed a ROM supporting 1% intervals.

Alright, thanks very much for your quick reply

Not a problem.
I will work on turning the images blue soon. At the moment, I'm working on theming the Email app =P

Hey evilkal, I'm on AOKP build 14. I flashed Nitroz Black Exodus theme then saw your link to your battery mod in the thread. I dl the zip and tried flashing through CWM but I got "installation aborted." Any ideas?

It is not a flash able zip. You will have to either pull your SystemUI.apk and change the images yourself
OR
Download my included metamorph zip and flash it via Metamorph (can be DLed from Market). You will have to reboot afterwards.

This is because the status bar report doesn't ask for another image until 85%. Arhd is basically an improved stock ROM so it only pulls at the odd intervals I posted earlier heh

UPDATE 11/18 sonny's ICS with H+/4G/battery mod & H+/4G/3G/2G icons for CM7/Nightly

UPDATE 11/18 sonny's ICS with H+/4G/battery mod & H+/4G/3G/2G icons for CM7/Nightly
Here's some icons I threw into systemui.apk for cm7. I just took them out of tmobile stock gingerbread for mytouch4g rom and edited them. Some I made from parts here and there and some from scratch. No big deal but I thought I'd share them with yall. I changed the H icon to 4G, left the 3G as is, and changed the EDGE and GPRS icons to 2G. Add H+ icons too. See update below for more details. I thought it looked nice... so there
This will work on CM7.1 and Nightly 225 and above. Probably, works on any recent CM7 build. This isn't for special credit or anything... just thought I'd share since some have been asking for it.
It is just the SystemUI.apk (the stock CM theme that comes applied when you first flash CM7) It's also known as "system" theme... blah blah blah. To apply flash the zip you want in recovery.
UPDATE:
added sonnysekhon's ICS theme v1.6 modded with 4G/H+ icons and modded lower yellow battery 16-39%. Also added grey notification bars so you can see the ocassional black on black text plus new blue data arrows for when connected to google's servers (aka sync) Get it here! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19157526&postcount=3180

Hey! No problem.... I knew it wasn't something in high demand but I thought a few might like it.
I mean I already know what GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+ is and all the icons don't incorperate them so I decided to simplify things a bit. EDGE/GPRS is so slow... so to me having a 2G icon for both is fine. I did happen to find a H+ icon in the htc glacier rom but not sure how to use it. I doubt we could... the steps must go like this for it work... gprs/edge/umts/hspa/hspa+. The G2/desire z only registers gprs/edge/3G/H unfortunately
yay!! thanks for this!

If you don't know how to flash stuff... you probably don't have root access anyways. Do some research first. Start at the wiki page for Desire Z/G2 and then read some sticked tutorials. You must have root access and S-Off before modding your phone. Good luck to you!
My phone is rooted, but I just wanted to make total sure that the flashing is correct. Could you elaborate on how I do this?

In the event that I want to undo these changes, how would I be able to do so?
Hey sino8r, thanks for making this! I was all excited to check them out, but then it occurred to me I'm using a theme and I just can't part with it. Oh well... I did, however, just link another user to your thread who was asking about the 4G icon.
Last couple questions, can I not use this if I am currently using a theme? Also, would I call the zip update and then flash it or keep the name SystemUI?

you can rename it but its not required or needed. If you have a theme already you can't use it over that particular theme. you would have to just use the system theme but once you flash this one... you can switch back and forth easily through the theme manager. and if you wanted to revert to stock cm7 there is one you can flash easily that I provided. If you had read the first post, it told you to flash in recovery, this IS a theme, and that there was a way to revert. Its no big deal... enjoy!

Thanks for working so hard on these, sino8r. I don't know why I thought I couldn't use my theme with your icons... how I missed the name of the zip "systemUI" is beyond me... at any rate I'll apply them with the next ILWT CM release. Just wanted to say thanks and apologize if I misinformed another user with my comments earlier. Take care, man.
Thanks OP, these are perfect. working fine on nightly#225.

Looks like I'll have make an update for when Nightly 234 comes out. There were some changes to the framework. I'll do the same for CM7.0.2... looks like its around the corner soon

I also wanna thank WhiteHawk and Doniqcc for the stable, bada$$ romz for the G2x, dont get no better. If yall got a few extra bucks (i know some of yall are rich) throw it to one of them, considering I have no real theming skills. Here's some pictures. All theming is done to the system, framework, phone.apk, settings.apk, and contacts.apk. Site that originally created this beast of a theme MrDSL's Mixer for Cm7.

Mostly used Cm10 icons and some of the International 50% transparency icons. Screenshot shows a modded mms icon in lockscreen, thats not included and the Carrier id will show FreeGS3 (I just changed mine to Bizdady).
Note: This is specifically for Clark44's FreeGS3 rom as its Framework, SystemUI, Lidroid specific, if you flash on stock rom you might bootloop or lose status bar
Whats Themed:
framework-res.apk
lidroid-res.apk
SystemUI.apk
SecSettings.apk
To Do:
Add semi transparency to pull down.
Add Transparent Status Bar option
Finish Themeing Toggle selector Icons in purple version, only main toggles themed at moment (I missed a few brightness, lockscreen, timeout)
Change brightness slider to match toggles color?[/COLOR]

I edited the update script and make the UIPrints a little different. Changed a little xml in your framework-res.apk to make sure there is no cell standby is not an issue.

Are you on the latest v.0.0.8 FreeGS3 rom by Clark44? It uses specific framework and SystemUI.apk files from that rom.

That is an old icon I think I got from a MUI rom ages ago but still like it so I modded my mms app to switch the stock icon since the lockscreen uses the stock icon.
I attached it if you want to give it a try, just flash in recovery or extract the apk and push it to system/app

Fyi, this seems to break the 23-toggle mod.

I can confirm this as well. Any toggle mod gets reverted back to stock after applying this theme. Would be nice if it was separate.

Yeah its going to break some things seeing its replacing SystemUI apk.
OP wrap your goods into vrtheme install for flash insertion into apk
Op, your more than welcome to go into my thread and grab one of my battery mods that use the Villain Theme Installer, remove all my battery images and add all yours.

Thank you, I can try that as well. This is my first time posting my icons. I will try to resolve it and update the file. Thank you.
Replacing FULL apk's (systemui, framework-res) is a thing of the past
VR Theme works wonders

Now that these no longer replace the SystemUI, is it safe to assume they will play nice with my transparent statusbar and centered clock?

Yes, it no longer replaces the entire SystemUI. Should play nice with other mods.
Sorry about that, it was a noob move.

No worries, I would have done the same thing. I don't know how it all works but I want to try some themeing somewhere down the road.

Yup that's what it is. Now all I'm waiting for is recolored toggles. I've seen the other thread that has these but I haven't looked to see if it breaks my other mods.
Nice, works well on the AT&T CleanROM 1.0 and doesn't effect the 23 toggle mod.
