I Read somewhere that PSXPERIA is not compatible with some ROM's, namey the UK one but I changed to DARK's rom and it doesn't work still even though everything was done correctly.
I think you are getting confused with the crash bandicoot version you need and not the actual xplay firmware, you need the US version of crash on your phone to be able to convert Roms in psxperia, I am using the darkforest Rom in the UK and have a couple of psxperia converted games, you would best best to read through all the posts in the psxperia thread there is plenty of info concerning what APk you need ..

So are there any other rom options for r800x users other than GBTweaked and Cola? Cyanogen doesnt get specific so im not quite sure.
There is the Darkforest ROM version 3.0.5, the UK firmware ROM for the R800x and the IT-ROM, all of which will work with a locked or unlocked bootloader. Note that of the ones listed in your OP, CM7 is the only one that requires a unlocked bootloader.

Check out the UK firmware on R800x thread. The first post is the best rom I have ever used.

I just flashed T.E.A.M. ROM on my r800i yesterday and it also works for other xplay variants according to the thread starter. Its like a modification to the stock 2.3.4 and it is really fast and easy to use. Also, less than 50MB compared to other custom ROMS out there which are buggy.
Here's my current set up for my Xperia Play r800i:
T.E.A.M. ROM
Doomlord's kernel v11
Unlocked bootloader
Stock Home Launcher (for optimal use)
Antutu CPU Master for overclocking purposes
Clockworkmod 5.0.2.7 for Xperia phones (available in Play Store aka Android Market)
hello i have been looking through the forums and cant find an answer to this question, i have a play 4g from atnt with an unlocked boot loader and i was wondering if this will work with the official cyanogen mod firmware release and if so will i lose my 4g connectivity? thank you
Here is something for gsm/cdma but i have gsm stock cause some games dont work on nostock roms.

there is the kernel for cdma too
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1400127
so u can try but first make a backup
but the phone is a gsm phone wouldnt that cause major issues?
like I said I have gsm stock and i dont know if it works. U can try and if sth goes wrong than (4g wont work) use recovery backup to return to stock rom
in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1294129&highlight=2+3+4+r800a are infos about roms for xplay an there is info:

It should be compatible because it's good for all GSM models, but I'm not sure about the whole 4g jazz.

(post #34), so possible is that without loosing 4g u cant change rom
Do not use a cdma rom you have a gsm phone. You can use any stock based GSM rom like darkforest rom with no game issues. Cm7 is great but the touchpads don't work on most games. I'm using darkforest rom also jokawild is another great rom no problems on xperia play at&t

I don't think you can download the playstation apps with custom software. I think you need stock 2.3.4. Can anyone verify?
CM7 does not use any of the Sony software that is necessary to the PlayStation store. You must be on a rom that is SE based. CM7 will not work with the touchpads either

Might explain it lol
I'm pretty certain that it was still there after I flashed CM7 though :S
I can still access the Crash Bandicoot game and play it though....
Guess I'll just use fpse instead
Thanks for the help anyway guys

Hey guys. So I have a CDMA PLAY with root and unlocked boot loader and I am only using the UK ROM as because its the nicest, smoothest, loudest and most stable rom I've used. However, the rom is 2.3.3 and I just wanted to know if I can upgrade to the UK Version of 2.3.4. If I can please tell me how. Thanks in advance!

Actually, no, you can't. The uk version you're running is on a kernel that is compatible with gsm and cdma. If you tried to update/upgrade using anything other than something community-built, you will lose data, due to incompatibilities between gsm and cdma.

Well, is there anything community built, for the UK version of 2.3.4? Because I'd really like to know. 2.3.4 has a lot more features for the UK ROM, so that's why I want it. ^_^;;;
Hey everyone,
I'm looking for the stock ROM files for the latest version of Gingerbread for my Xperia Play R800x. Does anyone know where I can get them?
Thanks.
This forum should contain a list of all stock roms for all models and dowload links. Search xperia play stock roms or a variant and it should pop up
