Hi guys
I've had my unbranded nexus for 2 days now. Power is really bad. Battery usage says Google+ app is taking 40% of the power used. But since I'm not rooted, I can't uninstall right?

Settings -> Apps -> Find Google+ and hit Disable or Uninstall.
Google+ is just another app, so uninstall it.
However, I'd be interested in knowing what it's doing all the time to eat up your battery. Yeah, it background syncs for notifications... do you have a ton of activity on G+?

I still have mines installed but it's not syncing in the background as I disabled it.
Hasn't used a % of my battery of life. It's definitely most likely coming from syncing.
And now it's disabled. Didn't know that I could do that, me dhd couldn't without root and bloatware removal. My app says : cpu active 50 mins, constantly active 3h50 mins out of 4 hours..

Another thing I miss from my desire is the facebook contacts sync? Google removed it i know, but can I get it back? I've tried a couple of apps, but none nearly as good as HTC'S sync option..

Yeah it's a new feature in Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) you're now allowed to disable apps.
Facebook Integration was removed. But you can bring it back to life if you flash a custom ROM that has that feature and it pretty much brings back how it was before Google removed it.

I didn't want to ninja the aokp thread so I'm posting this here. So for a while i was running aokp version 26 with no real issues. I wasn't following the development for a while so when i checked back they were at version 32 which runs 4.0.4.
I also want to mention I'm running no new apps, basically the same setup as when i was on 26.
Facebook seemed to be a big culprit and when i closed that it helped a bit. The screen seems to be using more than it did too. I am mainly concerned with all the wake time. The phone is awake a lot more than the screen is on.

system wakelock ?
whats the name of that app sucker app you posted.
reset your kernel, wipe and then flash again. It might help
It's called badass battery manager pro. I downloaded it last night from the market because someone on another forum suggested it. It's pretty nice in that it shows battery use app by app.
I'm also using lean kernel. Flashed it a couple days ago. Was using trinity for a while then tried out lean. It actually runs a lot smoother with lean but no battery change.
today it actually isn't to bad. All i did was manually stop Facebook. So once again it seems fb was causing issues. That app is junk.
i am still curious why it is awake so much. GPS is off, wifi is off (always have 3 or 4g), sync is off. Only thing i leave on is nfc but i have been told that is only active when the screen is on. I use no weather type widgets either. I have no clue what would keep waking the phone.
Edit: and what do you mean by reset the kernel. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. I installed the rom, then a couple days later flashed the lean kernel over trinity. Is there another way to do it?

I only saw battery improvements with AOKP's 4.0.4 integration.
Quick update, i have a screenshot from a better part of the day. I'm getting a ton of awake time. are there any common culprits that i can maybe freeze with titanium?

Yeah, I'm going to stop using the Facebook app I think. It's such a drainer. I don't mind a game taking up battery on its own but something like that should not use as much as it does! Hopefully they fix it soon.
Any ever notice their screen cutting on and off by itself? I've noticed this on my Xoom which is also running 4.0.4 so I assume its a 4.0.4 issue. Here's a pic of my battery stats. U can see all the screen on and awake lines. When I took the phone out my pocket and placed on my desk I noticed it. Then my battery stats reflected short spurts of screen on activity. That's it cutting on..sitting on lock screen...then turns off...then keeps doing it. Any else notice this it notice have a battery stat that looks like this?

Using gosms? It has the option to wake the screen upon receiving a text. But I'd assume you would know that if that's what it was.

Nah. I can't seem to duplicate it. Currently trying to now

It seems like you have an app running in the background and causes the phone to wake on occasion. Try an app like better battery stats to see what might be causing the wakes.

Same issue here, but I suppose it´s an application issue, asi I have benn on 4.0.4 since 15/20 days ago, and issue started yesterday. Installing Better Battery Stats and will let you know of any result
Definitely an app issue.

any updates to this? i've noticed mine coming on last night as well. stock 4.0.4
so far i have disabled google+ and deleted euro2012 app. both registered in the task manager as the screen kept coming on ( i would kill them, and shortly after they would reappear, and the screen would turn on).
I can say this is an app issue, many of the TF users complained about it and that was generally the fix.
My friend was having this issue and the battery icon would say the phone was charging , he said he stopped using live wallpaper or just a wallpapaer in general and it stopped doing it , don't know if that's something to try ,

after disabling those two apps, it hasn't woken up during last night at all. fingers crossed
Why does the GPS area in the screenshot show over 90 minutes of usage when I have GPS turned off? Any ideas?

Facebook has been long known to be a poorly coded app (even the newest version) I've stuck to using the browser only because it's so buggy. I'd chalk it up to that...
Turn location off inside settings of app.

The lastest build of their app is by far the worst I have used personally. Someone posted an older build which does not have as many features, but it is way less buggy.
LMK if you want a link.

same issue!
im seeing the same problem on my phone now, simply annoying. its my #1 battery drain even without using the phone or app.
app can be completely off, not on process list, gps turned off, location turned off in app, still goes up! might start using the mobile site instead of app.... until this can be fixed

That's exactly what was happening with my phone. I've been using the app that dschreiber69 provided earlier in this thread, but because Facebook eats so much battery on this phone I haven't been using it much anymore. Furthermore, I haven't been using Facebook much on either my phone or a computer. I'm getting sick of it, same crap every day. Nothing new. Blah.
hi, this app made by lg , application manager with widget ,just install it like any apk , View attachment app.m.lg.apk

"Task killers aren’t just useless – they can reduce performance. If a task killer removes an app from your RAM and you open that app again, the app will be slower to load as Android is forced to load it from your device’s storage. This will also use more battery power than if you just left the app in your RAM in the first place. Some apps will automatically restart after the task killer quits them, using more CPU and battery resources. "

As I understand it swiping apps away only tells the system that is acceptable to free those apps from memory early, but it doesn't necessarily " kill" that app immediately. The recent app list talks with the system whereas the task killers typically just force close the app.
Sent from my Nexus 4
Yup. Swiping the apps do not necessarily kill them.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
I still use advanced task killer with 4.2.1, and my battery life is double that of the times I don't use it.....this is just another one of those conspiracy theories with no evidence to back up the claims If I put my phone down after using google maps, my battery will die within 2 hours, even if I just unplugged it after fully charging to 100%.....if I kill maps, my battery will last me another 8 hours of normal use.
....and remember....itr's not always about battery life with task killers. New apps are RAM hogs because new devices carry more RAM capacity. Having an old device means if I run google chrome, I can't run anything else because my phone runs like sh!t when chrome is running....so I have to kill it. As soon as I do, my phone starts responding again, and is finally usable!!!
....so before you just go spouting off about your unfounded claims in regards to task killers, maybe you should do some research and ask those of us who do use them if they actually help, instead of just assuming what you read is the only truth to the story.
Hey XDA,
I've been getting this sns_async_ev wakelock and it is keeping my tablet awake, and never allowing it to enter deep sleep. I've been looking at some threads about it, but no one seemed to have a definite answer to eliminate this wakelock. I have absolutely no social networks by the way, and anything Google related has been frozen, except the Play Store and Gmail. Here are some screenshots of the BBS.

I have, but it hasn't told me what app or process has been causing it. The wakelock count goes up at 20/s and it never stops. I've uninstalled every app I have installed and I've wiped the tablet, but it still happens. I have no idea why and it's really getting on my nerves now.
