I'm looking for a flashable version of clockworkmod recovery. I want to be able to flash it in ra recovery. I know I can use rom manager but thats not what I want to do. I know it can be done I have had it before but I deleted it be mistake
Same here. I did a alternate flash with ra but can't get it back to clockworkmod as a recovery in Rom manager. I fix permissions and still nothing. I get an error saying can't flash into recovery until I flash back to clockwork mod. So my current back up is Ra. What's wrong with this picture? Thanks Xda.
Using my HTC Evo phone which I'm using Xda app to post
Well, I have a problem. The problem is that the recovery simply won't work. Okay, so I go into ROM Manager and flash the ClockWork Recovery. So then I reboot my Evo and I'm stuck at the Splash Screen. I thought that since I flashed a new ROM, it might just be gathering all the information up to start the recovery. So I return one hour later, and it's still on the Splash Screen. So I have to take off the battery and start it up normally and flash the Amon RA recovery. So then I reboot into recovery and it works fine. Anyone know why?
I think I read some where that rooting hwd004 phones with everything updated only recovery that is stable is ra

But I have Hardware 003. And I can flash the ClockWork Recovery from the Amon RA recovery.
So Amon Ra is working but Clockwork isnt? Just stick to Amon Ra if you have that working recovery.
So I don't want to unroot. I have amonra, clockwork, and rom manager. When I boot into recovery it goes straight to ra recovery, I have to flash the update.zip to get to clockwork. I would just like it to boot straight to clockwork or to remove ra
I installed rom manager the other day and updated to the latest version thinking that would overide ra when booting to recovery from rom manager, only for ra to come up saying 'bad' update.
I know this will more than likely be simple, I have done a few searches but not found much apart from unrooting.

you need to re run unrevoked and untick use custom recovery so it flashes clockwork or use custom and select a clockwork recovery of choice
its in the clockworkmod thread in the dev section and the amonRA thread
please read them
Hello!
You need to unrevoked again....Downolad unrevoked for your phone, BEFORE to plug your phone to your computer go in the up left corner and choose your recovery , wich can be amonra or clockwork mod, let computer do the job and voila! You are donne
Thanks you very much dudes. I was a total noob to all things root when I did mine and just followed steps from a mate. I couldn't remember how RA got on there. Cheers

Hey, so I hope you guys check this. I tried running the unrevoked again.
Only for it to seemingly get right to the end and attempt root (I thought it was just going to reflash and slap the clockwork in there) for it to say Error: failed to get root - Is your firmware too new?
Is there an easy way around this? Or is it the rom I am running??
I haveOxygen-20. RC6

You don't get 2 recoveries. If you 'fake flash' using ROM Manager it'll lose CWM instead of your normal recovery
You could try to S-OFF with AlphaRev iso (which will also update the recovery to CWM-AlphaRev 2.5.1.8 with dark blue color)
When you are S-OFF you can update the recovery with fastboot
If you don't want or cannot do all this, you could try to fake flash the CMW 3.2 recovery when you need it.
Fake flash means to load another recovery (3.2) while in recovery (2.5) by simply applying a zip file. You then have all the feature of the 3.2 recovery without permanently installing it.
1) put the zip with 3.2 recovery on your SD card (zip in thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1039954)
2) boot in recovery
3) apply the zip (like you would flash a rom, but it only loads the 3.2 recovery operating system without removing/deleting any file in your phone). You should notice the text color change and a few more options in the menu.
4) enjoy
Fake Flash is more or less what what Rom Manager is doing when you use it to reboot in recovery mode (but it only supports a restricted set of recovery versions that have been tuned to work with Rom Manager).
Another benefit of fake flash is that you can still use your old nandroid backups, as it it not recommended to restore with recovery X a backup made with recovery Y.
here is what happen i was on cm7, i flashed TMartinPPC_EvoGingerSense_v0.1, cm7 was backed up with clockwork where i installed it from, i flashed the gingersense with ra and it just bootlooped so i restored mikefroyo what i had in backeded up with ra then switched to clockwork to restore back to cm7 but when it want to reboot in recovery it just sat at the splash screen, when try to reboot in ra recovery it goes to bootloader, i dont no what to do

Reflash your recovery. If you can boot into the rom, use ROM Manager to flash Amon Ra, or reflash Clockwork, whichever you prefer. If you're just stuck at the bootloader, and can't boot to the rom, then as long as you're still S off, you can reflash a PC36IMG of recovery. I'll attatch Amon Ra. V2.3. Put the file on main directory of your sd card, boot to the bootloader, and accept the update. Then you should be able to boot to recovery.
Thanks, but I was using clockwork 3005, had to flash to 3003

Clockwork often fails to flash properly for me. If you can boot up, just reflash Clockwork recovery and it will fix it. If you can't boot up, which sounds like your problem, just copy the file in the link in k2buckley's post above to the root of your sd card and let it flash from the bootloader, then boot up your phone and flash Clockwork again.
ok. so I need to be able to use amend scripting and im currently on Clockworkmod 3.0.0.5. When i try to flash an older clockwork or Amon RA through ROM manager, It just very quickly says "recovery flashed successful" but it never really flashes the recovery. I reboot into recovery and its still 3.0.0.5... I used to be able to flash the recovery fine. I have CM7nightly 66, Tiamat 4.01, and Hboot .93. I have tried several times and nothing. ROM manager says it flashed successfully, but i still have the same recovery. I even tried running the Amon RA update.zip, but hboot wouldnt pick it up... please help!!! thanks in advance...
So you couldn't ask this in the question and answer forum?
Try the PC36IMG way to flash amon RA or clockwork.
Or try flashing through terminal using the flash_image command
