I have an xperia arc that i just got from Rogers yesterday. My sim is unlocked, and i previously had an x10 which i was able to unlock the bootloader. But on my arc i havent been able to unlock the bootloader on my arc. It doesnt seem to go into fastboot mode, but i am able to have adb access on it and put it into flashmode. I've followed instructions on how to install fastboot to work with my computer but it doesnt seem to be working. Any help?
rogers arcs are locked and you have to use a pay service to unlock the bootloader.

+1 from me!
i HIGHLY recommend this method. Alejandrissimo is a great guy and really good at what he does. He unlocked my Fido Xperia Pro in about 5 minutes.
You don't have to do much...just when he tells you to hold a paper clip from a testpoint to the SD card holder to ground the testpoint, and plugin/unplug the USB cable as needed. Beyond that Alejandrissimo will do all the software side for you.
And the reason it costs money is it uses the program SETool, which costs money on a pay-per-use basis. So Alejandrissimo is just coverying his own costs.
I PMed him, im just waiting for a response. Thanks for your recommondation
Hi, I have checked around xda and have not found the answer to my question so my apologies if I missed it during my search. I have a Rogers branded R800a Xperia Play. I understand that carrier locked plays can not have the bootloader unlocked. However, I have found someone who can carrier unlock my phone for me (Use it on foreign networks). If I get my phone carrier unlocked would that allow me to unlock the bootloader myself or do I have to go through someone like Alejandrissimo to properly unlock the bootloader? Thank you!
Only factory unlocked plays can use the official unlock method, if you paid to get your device sim unlocked, you would still have to pay for a remote bootloader unlock.
By the way, when you pay for a bootloader unlock, it also sim unlocks the device, so paying for a sim unlock first is a waste of money.

Ok thanks for your help, I guess I'll pony up the cash to get the bootloader unlocked remotely.
Hey guys, I have an r800a from rogers and when I use the *#*#7378423#*#*, bootloader unlock allowed says no. Does that mean the instructions on the Sony website won't work? What is the method that I have to use to unlock my bootloader? Nobody in my family has ever made a purchase online so if that is involved, can someone run me through how to do it? Do I need to enter a credit card number anywhere?
Thanks in advance.
on the SE homepage it says: "If it says No, or if the status is missing, your device cannot be unlocked."
but you could try using the devices testpoint as described in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1285285
you don't have to purchase anything to unlock your bootloader, this is not a "online purchase". sony offers this as a free service for developers.
If it says your bootloader cant be unlocked, same with me from Rogers. I paid the $24 to Jinx13 to have him unlock it remotely. Just PM him.
Thanks guys, the testpoint thing looks to complicated for me. About the $24 payment, how is it done?
Hi everyone ! I have a Xperia Arc LT15i and I found out using *#*#7378423#*#* that I cannot unlock bootloader (Bootloader unlock allowed: No). How I can unlock my bootloader because I want a ROM like CM9 or JJ's Hybrid and it`s must to have bootloader unlock. Please help me with unlocking the bootloader, or please help to find a ROM like CM9 without unlock my bootloader. I want to say that I am not very skilled Waiting for more tips.
download flashtool then Plug in > unlock bootloader
it will guide you to sony's web page, copy paste the code and let flashtool unlock it
Actually JJ's ROM doesn't require an unlocked boot loader.

If you have bootloader unlock allowed:no standing, then you can't unlock it with Sony service, because your IMEI number is then 15 symbols long, so no way for unlocking bl without paying for services like setool

Hi,
If you have bootloader unlock allowed:no , you can unlock it with Omnius , but is not free, 15€/unlock .
I unlocked my LT15i with Omnius, I had "unlock allowed:no" before.
So .. I can't unlock my bootloader, only if I paid :crying:
Setool & Omnius links?
you guys got any links related to this Omnius and Setool things? or other alternatives for Xperias stating that unlocking bootloader is not allowed?.. I had thought that if they say so, it was just impossible to unlock...
Unlock for free

I'm starting to get angry I said and ludz179 in answer above you I can not unlock the bootloader so because the Service Info says Bootloader unlock allowed: No
was only giving info you say your phone says cannot unlock boot loader then from wat iv seen there is no way to unlock it.
but there is lots of roms out there that run well on none unlocked bootloaders and using new flashtool seems easy plus using DooMLoRD to root the phone .. I think the only way to do it would be to send it to sony service to unlock but knowing them you go no chance
just trying to help thats all
Can't help enquiring. You mention that there are several roms that are available which does not need to have the bootloader unlock.Could you give me the links please.

Sorry,found it.2 threads down.Thank you.
I have a r800at running gin2jb with r800i, and i was wondering if its possible to unlock the bootloader without unlocking the sim, since now sim unlocking is illegal on carriers?
No not possible.
You can unlock the bootloader at Sony's bootloader unlock website and it won't unlock the SIM.
