For now I rushed things and simply made most images greyscale , that's why this resesmbles your theme so much. I will redraw most images soon making both our themes unique .
Can you please tell me how to theme the statusbar ongoing notifications 'pressed' color (it's blue by default)? It must be hidden in a xml.
Cheers.
Please please please port this to the cdma version. I'm begging here.

It is indeed hidden in an XML and took me a while to find it
-Decompile your SystemUI.apk go to values\drawables.xml and its under notification_item_colour_background_pressed change it to the relevant html color code and your done Well, after compiling the APK.

I do have a few questions:
Do you know how to get rid of the slanted lines from the dialer background?
Have you tried the dialer transparency mod from gingerbread yet?
Edit: Regarding the font, it's Segoe. Please feel free to use anything you like .

The dialer background is in 2 parts. 1 is in the framework-res (Drawable-nodpi) and the other part is in the contacts.apk drawable nodpi folder, which is the one with the slanted lines. Change that and your done. I haven't tried the dialer transparency mod yet. Unfortunately I'm not talented enough to even try

Obviously, it works with ICS. That's why it's called ICS RED. I used it on an odexed ROM but it should also work on deodexed because it just replaces images in apk files.
Cool, red, those tabs your on about mate are in TWFramaework.. You can use any of my neon red theme if you want, i can upload the old one for you
Cheers Rixsta
EDIT, I can see some of the pngs aren't patched properly either, like the wifi/blue tooth sliders ..
Needs some more work doing to it but its a good start mate
The red looks a little bright and a bit much don't you think?
Congratulations on your first theme. 5* for effort.
It's nice to see people take the plunge and get their feet wet... Hopefully more people will follow your lead.
Also thanks for the credits and you know where I am if you need owt?

Yes you can! I did it yesterday. Although the calculator stayed black for some reason oO.
There are some icons that looks a bit weird like for example the camera icon or the market icon, but hey it's your first theme and I'm staying with it =D. Maybe tone down the intensity of the color a little bit xD
Will this work on aokp rom?

Thanks for all your help. You're a real credit to the themeing community. I would love a copy of the old theme. It's what inspired me. I didn't know anything about .9.png's. Hopefully, I'll be able to figure out how to do them better.

You're right in some instances. I like it though sometimes. It really pops against the black background. I'm not an expert graphics editor so for the moment it will be like this but I'll make some changes in the future versions.

If you look in the log created by the universal flasher you can see if it says that there was an issue with changing the calculator file. I know what you mean about the icons. My graphics editing skills are still developing. I'll try and sort them out soon. thanks for the support.

I don't know. It depends on if they've changed the names of graphics files in the apk's. There will be an issue because there is no twframework in an AOKP ROM, AFAIK

Should work on both. I do all of my testing on stock odexed because I want the theme to be immediately useable on new ROMS. The battery MOD for previous versions didn't work on LPQ so I needed to wait for a while.
tried v1.3 on lpq.
the battery icons went missing.
is the stat_battery_XXX.xml ok?
***First of the all, i would like to thank and give credits to Sochat333 for his amazing tutorial on how to make these work.***
***Secondly, flash this at your own risk, always make a nandroid before flashing anything ***
***For now i only have prepared the ones that go with my themes and they come in inverted version and regular stock background version. And this is just the beginning, I will be making a lot more and porting more bubbles as time goes on including Touchwiz bubbles and will be making them in as many colors as possible. I am taking requests and suggestions are always welcomed in my kitchen so please dont hesitate to ask for a new flavor.***

If you want to change it then here is how you do it:
-Decompile framework-res.apk with apktool 1.4.2
-Go into framework-res/res/values folder and open Colors.xml with notepad++ or similar
-Go to line 38 & 39, they look like this:
<color name="link_text_dark">#ff5c5cff</color>
<color name="link_text_light">#ff0000ee</color>
-Change the hex values to whatever you want to change them to
-Recompile with apktool 1.4.3 + Sign it = Success ***

JK, no need to hurry. One question, thought: there is any difference between messaging from CM9 4.0.3 and stock 4.0.4?
Think I will install it tomorrow after my other test (yea, I had one test Monday, another today, will have another one tomorrow, one on next day and a last one on Friday. I'm feeling really bad luck :/ But there is a holiday on the start of next week, so a 4 day weekend FTW.)

Future Updates:
I'm planning to design more theme and more color variation of this in the near future!

Thank you very much all you for your support and help and i hope you'll really enjoy this theme!
This is incredible. I'm not big on the whole ghetto looking themes like Cobalt and such that look like something straight out of like '04. I'm more on the complete looking modern themes.

whats that color code ur using for the orange?
When you decompile an apk you will notice the .9.pngs will have black lines around the borders... edit everything but the black border. The lines along the border tell the phone how the image needs to stretch.
So after you edit them and save it you can open it up in the draw9patch to see how its gonna look when its stretched.
Then just recompile the apk and the .9s will be fine

This is what i did in the past: Edit the image in PS i didn't touched the black lines and then i opened it with ninedraw
patch and save it again but when i tried to recompile the apk every time i get an error recompiling the apk and if edit the image again and save it with 9patch again but this time i used 7zip to insert the image
without decompress the apk but i couldn't install the apk then again.
I really want to learn theming and the make teh pixel perfect theme.

You don't need to redraw the patch in the .9 editor unless you actually draw the image from scratch or you mess with the guides.Your problem is when you put an image into the .9 editor you must draw a new guide,So if your saving the image after dragging it into the editor without drawing new patches then your going to get errors. If you need any help just PM me.

Hi all! Since I've got more then 1900 downloads on other devices i decided to post this here so you guys can enjoy them too
These themes are made for ICS dock tho they can be used on other bases, and they are a product of some research of themes available on other places (except theme 2) with a lot of tweaks and adds made by me so they feel more complete.
They need a bit of work to set them up but i think its not much for the result. All the step by step tutorials are in the zip files, as most of the things you need.
For those that don't have photoshop i uploaded the PNG files of the themes (only problem is you can't change wallpapers, icons, text, anything). Still you will be able to have the theme
I'm not an expert and I don't present myself as one, I just love these themes and decided to share them with you guys and hope you all enjoy them.
These themes are not to FLASH or use it with cm9 theme chooser!!! Please read the guide
please note that this were made sometime ago and you can now use Apex with grids like 9x7 (using this for 1st theme)

This is not a cm9 theme or flash one. You need to download the files a setup them following the guides provided inside the zip.
Since i have SGS i'm not sure if the grids match the pngs files so maybe you need to adjust them to suit SGS 2. Since most of the launchers today have many options on this matter it shouldn't be a problem to find a match.
For example I use 9x7 on 1st theme and put 4 blank icons on top of the contacts. This way everytime i hit the wallpaper on that spot i open my contact list.
Cheers
Good Work

Hello m8 tks
Did you read the last answer before your post?
cheers
Before people ask about this i reply
tip1:
You don't need a perfect match of the app icon (blank one) on top of the wallpaper icon. All you need is to cover that area where you gonna tap the screen.
On theme 1 i use 9x7 grid and I have 4 icons (blank ones) on top of most of the wallpaper icons (except the lower ones, no need) so i don't miss it when i press there.
tip2:
If ou want your own wallpapers open theme pdf file and open your wallpaper. Drag your wallpaper inside the theme pdf and adjust to your liking. Only works if you have photoshop.
tip3:
You can replace the icons i have with the ones you want. Just use photoshop and replace them.
Hope it can help you guys.
Cheers
It might be worth you changing the thread title to "custom themes guide" or something along those lines. It might stop people asking "ow do i flash dis feme??" and other silly questions
Just a suggestion.

Well I changed the color but when you flash it it doesn't fill up the whole toast box. Just the center. The rest stays transparent, and the part I added color to is fuzzy. I didn't change sizes or anything.

Yeah once you edit it no matter what you have to recompile the .9.png. Do it like this:
The .9.png files just make sure there's only up to 2 black pixels on the top and left side, then draw a black border on the right and bottom sides excluding the corner pixels. After that there's a program I know automatically converts them to finished .9.png images, when I get home again I'll link to it
Ah xUltimate-d9pc was the program I was thinking of! If you follow my directions with the images above then just put them in the test1 folder, delete test 2, delete the image in test1/res/drawable-hdpi and just put your icons in there then run the program, it should work.

And original link to download from main thread on DroidForums: http://www.xeudoxus.com/android/xUltimate-d9pc-x64.zip
Hope you get it working completely!
Edit: Also, the outer edge of pixels cannot have a medium alpha level, they either have to be fully transparent or a solid color.

Damn 9 pngs. I just send em to strongsteve. He fixes them in seconds for me. Lol. I just don't get them. I've tried 3 different programs and none of which worked. I finally got my phone, contacts, messaging to recompile after editing text. Framework attempt today... should be interesting.

Yeah at one point I had around 10-15 tabs open on my browser with different tools and tutorials using all these different programs, this is the easiest way I've found and good luck on the framework!
