Off topic: Lets keep the trolling and arguing to a minimum..this is a GREAT PHONE!

Alot of us came from the Evo 3d forum where there was nothing but trolling, huge arguments and dev fights. Id like for us to keep this forum clean, or at least try to..as this is a really great device. If anyone is with me then please clap your hands!!

Agreed.
Though already the first thing I noticed was how nice and civil people were...and even when there was a hint of people getting confrontational everyone has been polite and apologetic. We are, after all, here for the same reason.
The way the E3D forum went down was a breeding ground for, well, exactly what it became. The forum was opened a month and a half before the device released. Add in the unlock debacle. Even worse was the fact that after HTC backed down on locking it made it seem like being rude and trolly and confrontation worked...and that was infused with the massive numbers of Hero owners coming off of contract and a massive number of us yearly upgraders getting ready for the EVO4Gs successor. Sprinkle on top the unlocking debacle and drama surrounding AlphaRevX and TeamWIN that had nothing to do with AlphaRevX or TeamWIN...for a while. Then the fact that the Sensation was a nearly identical device with not identical development and seemed like extra dev attention--regardless of the fact that everything went back and forth very quickly, that bread epic ****-tons of butthurt amongst the massive amounts of people who were already pissed on, pissed off, angry and ready to fight before the phone was even released and, well, it isn't surprising. It was sad.
I gotta say I love all you guys already.

It will be pretty hard to keep evo3d owners who know they have a lesser phone from coming here and saying how much the phone sucks etc etc because they made the mistake of getting one.But we can try.

I was there watching as well, swapped the 3vo for the SGS2, couldnt be happier with my choice!
As for a google huddle, i used to use it a lot with my atrix i had. it was a busy huddle. It was nice if you couldnt get on xda to follow all the rom discussions and what not.

Despite my issue with the browsers lack of useragent settings option, the Epic 4ag Touch is the device I've envisioned for the last 10yrs

Go to menu, settings, display, screen display and then lock screen wallpaper. Took me a while to figure out as well.
Coming from evo 3d as well. So happy with my decision so far. Hope to get to know you dudes better.

That's very sleek. If it's real it'll be one more reason to give the SG3 a hard look when (if ever) it comes out.

Yea. It looks almost too sleek. Like a touch screen remote or something. Its a serious stretch from what we've seen. But with the advancements this phone is supposed to usher in.....its almost kinda fitting. My OG Epic line is up in October.
Hopefully that's enough time for it to get jerked around by sprint and have a decent rumor on a release date.....

But that will be GSM International so cdma may be in december when htc and other might start preparing for android 5.0...Knowing samsung this one will come with 2.6 with promise to upgrade in future...

Looks like its gonna be made with aluminum and ceramic maybe? Looks like it could be the real deal tho the invite date is right afaik, the only problem is the US variant won't make it here til sometime end of 3rd or 4th quarter since Sammy didn't let this one out of the cage til September I don't see them dropping another flagship device less than 12 months from the last especially since the epic 2 is coming this summer which is basically our phone with LTE instead of wimax, but most of the specs are very similar otherwise

Honestly I could see them dropping it sooner. While the Epic 2 is known about it's pretty much a refresh of the Epic that is already there and no it's not a Epic Touch it's the Epic with the keyboard so it's the update to that model nothing more and with better specs. I could see Sammy dropping this on everyone if what they said was true about wanting to release it world wide in 1 shot instead of how the GS2 was released where people pretty much had to wait almost a year to get their hands on it (outside of the GSM version)
Also that looks like the back of the phone as many have said in that posting. I tend to agree with it as well but seriously if that really is it....Shut up and take my money please now!!!!

Harry and the Hendersons.
True the hard keyboard is nice to have at times but I have to admit after using one for so long and pretty much jumping ship to a touch only phone I don't see myself being able to go back. I love slim phones I always really have I just could not get away from the keyboards but now that I have I don't see me going back ever again.

Lithgow is a legend. The World According to Garp, Footloose, Twilight Zone the movie (the dude freaking out on the airplane), Raising Cain (more evil than his character in Dexter). Plus his great character on 3rd Rock. Love that guy.

Hey guys. Just wanted to say that coming from the evo 3d, which by the way was an absolute nightmare, to this is so awesome! I'm running the rooted stock FF02 and couldn't be happier. Thanks to all the devs for their work on this device!

Lol yeah I will be. So could I just download cwm from the market and use that to flash? Or is it best to use Odin? Also can u flash downloaded zips from Odin or is that just for .exe files? Sorry for all the questions lol but really curious.

I also just came from the 3d like 4 days ago. I was able to con assurion into giving me this bad boy instead of another 3d. I told my friend how I did it then he called used the same lines and they upgraded him from the of evo and the lucky bastard took it a step further and got the one in white!!

I upgraded to the touch from the og epic as well. Got to say this is a great phone. Way more active development going on. I'm sorry to all those with bad gps but I must have got lucky cause this phone gets crazy fast locks way better than my og epic.

I remember that teaser well!
Haven't seen it in a while though, thanks for digging it up.
I forgot how curved they made it seem in that teaser, it looked insane. Originally I assumed the final design would be that curved. I remember the mock ups that were going around the Android news sites after that teaser came out...
I too can not wait until we get a new teaser trailer for the next Nexus. Hopefully that will happen sooner rather than later!

Aah, I still remember the times.
When the GNex was still a rumour...with the then-monstrous 1.5GHz and novel buttonless design.
And then we had this teaser. It was like a dream.
But time flies and ICS is no longer a novelty, and the Nexus is not an awesome device now.
In Hong Kong the price has dropped by half.
I miss that time!

I remember watching the live stream release and my jaw continually dropped as all the specs were released. I just kept saying to my self no way... and then the ICS features and I was beyond excited.

I honestly do not find this the best phone on the market, but it is my favorite device so far and still awesome. I was so excited when I saw face unlock, 720p HD display, pentaband GSM, beautiful design with software buttons, and etc. I know its not the best phone spec wise( as referred to earlier), but to me its the best deal and still a very beautiful and relevant android phone.

Google needs to let the rumor mill open to build up some suspense and excitement for the next nexus phones. Android has progressed that far and needs a boost.

Ahh the memories. Actually I never planned on owning it, I just saw my contract ending in 2013 and thought bummer, no new phones till then. Then my carrier texted me one day to let me know I was available to upgrade already, even though not even 2 years had gone by on the 3 year contract. Went to the store, Lo and behold Nexus was only $35, yoink! Mine!

I'm interested to see the rumours build up, although I won't be getting the next nexus, going to skip a year.

Not happy with sprint... the last straw...

I have been constantly having problems with sprint. I love the S2, but I never get reception, always losing signal. Slow to no data. (yes I called them to have the fix the problem but no help. Last week I was on hold for 6 hours, not exaggerating at all).
I called sprint again today, and they would not upgrade my phone. They said I bought it in Feb, and they would charge me $280 to break out of contract and $200 for the new note 2 phone. ($580, they are nutz...).
they wouldn't pass me onto retentions either. They hung up on me 4 times during my phone call. Stupid russion speaking dwarfs from yugoslavia or something...
So I canceled finally, and they didn't even do ANYTHING to try and keep me as a customer. I have been with them since 1999.
So... I will pay the break out fee of $280. But I feel it is a relief to get away from them. Sprint has gone down the toilet, and I am not going to be held hostage by them anymore.
So... Anyone have any suggestions on what to do now? Legal suggestions only please. I still have my S2, so if there was a way I can prepay activate it somewhere .....
OR what is the best bang for the buck wireless company now? I kind of wanted the new note 2 or I can wait for the nexus 4.

I'd probably swallow any loss that you paid to Sprint and move onto T-Mobile if their coverage is nice in your area. $200 for a 2-year contract or buy outright from Google for $300-350, not bad. Just gotta wait since they're on back ordered.
Unfortunate that you experienced that type of customer service from Sprint. I've had nothing but great deals with them every time.

I was looking at Ting... I guess they have a beta program where you can bring your device from sprint. Pay as you go no contract. You get credited the following month for stuff you didn't use.
The epic touch 4g is one of the 5 devices currently supported by ting.

Should someone report you for quoting the post? Since it now contains an original copy of said profanity and if missed by the moderator handling said report will become the only post containing the reported profanity.
