My battery is charged upto 90%. I am trying to unroot my desire before selling it.
I downloaded RUU_Bravo_Froyo_hTC_Asia_WWE_2.13.707.1_Radio_32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2_release_143921_signed.exe from shippedroms.com.
When I try to install this RUU after 2 mins I get an error saying battery is less than 30% when in fact it is 90%. I connected the phone using usb cable in HTC Sync mode. What am I doing wrong? How can I successfully unroot my phone? please advise. Thanks.
First of all, why don't you use the 2.3.3 RUU? Second, please do not use HTC Sync mode when you want to unroot. Just boot your Desire into fastboot, connect phone to computer and run the downloaded RUU on your computer.
Gingerbread upgrade for Desire makes it unrootable, isn't it? So I want to go back to Froyo. Secondly how do I boot into fastboot? For the time being I have restored my original ROM backup from cwm recovery. So now my phone is still rooted but has original htc froyo.
Still cant get to install RUU!

Wrong! With revolutionary you get S-OFF and root for Gingerbread RUU in two simple steps:

Turn off your phone. First hold back button and then power button.
Sold the phone without rooting finally.

Hi, I have a HTC Desire Froyo 2.2 with a HBOOT of 0.920001.
I've tried to see how to root my phone without having to downgrade the android system to 2.1.
I've seen some forums talking about the unrevoked3 that is capable of rooting my phone 2.2 without doing pretty much anything. :3
But in order to root my phone do I have do anything first like backup my software and other things like photos or videos?
How can I root my phone with the file reflash?
Explain to me as if I was pretty ignorant, please.
Use unrevoked 3.2, it will give you root without any data loss.

Do you still need a goldcard for this or can you use it straight away in stock froyo using hboot 0.92?
My phone is t-mobile but their logo doesn't appear on boot up, just the HTC one.
So I dont have to do any sort of backup on my phone if I use unrevoked3 right?
Just to be clear...I only need to plug in my phone and run the unrevoked?
And last thing...it says that I need to be certain that HTC SYNC isn't installed in my pc...why?
Don't know, just remove it and once you're rooted add it again...
As for backup, no you don't but it's best to have the stock RUU to hand incase you ever need to return the phone
you need to remove HTC Sync and install the modified drivers privided by Unrevoked team inside reflash zip(it's a link that says hboot drivers).

I know you have to install the drivers, I don't know what difference having HTC Sync makes, though...so long as it's closed from your system tray I can't see it being an issue

1) Connect the phone, run unrevoked, you're rooted
2) You need to remove HTC Sync, because it might want to access your device at the same time with unrevoked

i think they are just covering their asses to make sure you incur no additional problems. they just want to weed out anything that might cause a bump in the road. and therefore, avoid the influx of user emails stating "while i was doing something, windows open htc sync and made my boot screen the theme song to M*A*S*H and when it finally boots up, it's the XBOX game "Me and My Pony 2".

Is it a SLCD desire.?
when flashing did u use the custom file in unrevoked and added the clock work recovery file.?
and did u use rom manager for flashing custom roms.?
pls help
I have the led sreen Desire but it also works for the SLCD.
Just install the unrevoked drivers, download the software and open it.
Just that simple.
As for installing custom roms I use Rom manager and titanium backup for backing up my apps.
After you root your phone download rom manager and backup your current rom before installing a new one.
so should I use the nandriod backup before I root? Can take away the root by just resoter from the backup?
Is unrevoked also install some new recovery image ? Or it just give root access ?

Hi I'm new here, and I have two question: Does unrevoked root my Desire with Froyo? ANd does it make a backup or recovery to the original ROM in case if I have any warranty problems?
Many thanx

Unrevoked is a rooting process. It just adds a recovery ROM to your device and gives you Superuser access. If you put it on Froyo, you get Froyo, put it on Eclair, you get a rooted Eclair etc..
Once you root with unrevoked, you can backup immediately and restore to that point of time anytime.
If you put a Froyo ROM after rooting, you get a rooted Froyo..
I purchased my Desire back in June and as soon as i found out about rooting
i used the one click unrevoked 3 method. Due to it being unbranded i didnt need a gold card i simply did so. After which i had problems installing some roms and its become too difficult so ive decided to unroot it and use it as it was meant to be until i gain more knowledge.
My problem is no matter which RUU i use following the unlocker method nothing works. I continue to get the error that none of the RUUs are suitable for my phone.
I have looked through the other posts but couldnt find an answer that worked for me.
my radio is 32.44.00.32u_5.09.05.30_2
Im running AuraxTSense 7.6.1 Froyo FRF91 by NeoPhyTe
Can anyone help me?

Hi,
Is your Hboot 0.93 ?
try this RUU : http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Bra...00.32U_5.09.05.30_2_release_142828_signed.exe
Enter bootloader (vol.dw+power), then plug the phone to USB and run the RUU it should work...
Have u installed HTC Sync again after using unrevoked?
U need the htc drivers installed
Have u tried LeeDroid?
Running stable and fast in my Desire, I rooted nd unrooted the phone twice, but every time i go back to unroot status i get bored, so root again, i think u should try another ROM first before unroot, try mine : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=768703
Download de ROM,
Install thru ROM Manager or directly thru Recovery, but remember to Wipe data before u install make a clean install, if u still experience any issues go back to Stock...
My Hboot is 0.93.0001
Ill try the RUU tomorrow when i have enough time at my disposal
Although ill try leedroid first just in case. Hopefully it works and is good enough
thanks for the help
Just curious, but did it work?

Hey. I rooted my Desire HD with VISIONary+ a couple of days ago but decided to unroot again because I actually was happy with the way it was before and just wanted to root it to see what it was like. Well.. Now I have a problem. I downgraded to root it and now I can't update the phone again.
When it starts to update it reboots but when it turns on again the only thing I can see is a little Android and a triangle with exclamation. Then I have to take out the battery and start the phone again. I've tried it several times now and that same thing happens every time. What can I do?
And by the way: Clockwork Recovery is still turned on after the unrooting and I've tried to root and flash alternate recovery but it says that there is no other recovery to flash. I don't know if this could have anything to do with the updating problem.
Please help me I'm new at all this rooting stuff and I just want my phone the way it was before if that's possible.
If you still have CWM on the phone you're still rooted so an OTA update will fail. You need the RUU to completely reset the phone to stock
How do I get the RUU? And what do I do with it? Can you help me out?
Here is a guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=864054
RUUs can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=841207
Just run it when phone is connected to HTC Sync on your computer.
I guess I should look under "Official Roms". But which one should I pick?

The one that corresponds best with your phone, ie mine would be t-mobile uk
Thank you all so much. It worked and I got it updated! I just have one more question.
Before I rooted I was on firmware 1.7something and now I'm on 1.3something and it says that there is no available updates. Why is that so?
Htc uk pulled the 1.72 update because it was ****. That might be why.

Ok! Thanks. I was just wondering
I've just recently updated my HTC desire from Froyo to Gingerbread 2.3.3 using HTC's official RUU and I'm not a fan. The wifi keeps disconnecting and I don't like having to turn the mobile network on and off. I want to go back to the stock Froyo without installing a custom rom and rooting the device.
Thanks in advance for your help
You can't without S-OFF and root.
How about trying to fix problems instead of running away from them?
How about giving some real answers instead of some lame ironic replies?
haych.dot, you can't downgrade from official GB to FroYo without rooting & S-OFF-ing, because the GB bootloader is a higher version than the FroYo one thus it needs to be downgraded first.
You have two options: 1) either send the phone to HTC for firmware downgrade or 2) use revolutionary (www.revolutionary.io) to root & S-OFF then downgrade the bootloader as per alpharev's instructions (http://alpharev.nl) & install the latest FroYo RUU. Search the forums for details on the 2'nd option (which i wouldn't advise if you're a newbie regarding Android hacking or not a tech savvy guy).

Put your phone in the freezer for 10 mins and then try to boot. (Take your battery out when you do this).
All you have to do is download the revolutionary package and unrevoked 3. You guys should all know about the usb debugging and stuff so you have to s-off before you root it's weird. Also you must install htc sync on your computer for it to work. Or atleast i did. So with htc sync installed and phone set to usb debugging and charge only run alpharev with the betta key it gives you let it do it's process could take a few minutes after it says complete and closes run unrevoked 3. It might scare you and apear to have bricked your phone I know it scared the hell outta me but just pull the battery out and it will reboot normal. Then your good to go with a fully rooted s-off htc desire running hboot 1.06 i currently installed cyanogen 7.0.3 but i'm going back because i'm having problems with google apps so i'm going to re do it. Thanks guys. Took me forever to figure this out for some reason. lol
just found out that the screen that you might think looks like you bricked is actually changing the radio so don't panic and wait for them to say done or finshed. Alpharev will close it's self.
You don't need unrevoked at all
