Looking for a transparent News & Weather and Google Music app. Ones that work without rooting. Any help is appreciated!
Id like to see these as well
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
Would also like a transparent music widget. I had found one for Nexus S but flashing it broke the music apps and messed up all permissions so all new apps were FC'ing. We need one made for our GNex!
I would love a transparent music app

Would you be so kind as to share your widgets? Would really love the weather and power control ones...
I found Android Weather last night and installed it.
It has an option for the widget to be totally transparent:

i'm not sure where i downloaded the opaque weather one. not at home currently so i'll have to post it later. if you can't wait, i found this thread http://rootzwiki.com/topic/13932-theme-thirdeye-for-ics/
regarding the power control, this is part of the Settings.apk so this is something you need to mod yourself. i can post my background image of this later, but it's extremely easy to do if you have photoshop.
whatever it was that i downloaded i found here...
edit: well i found where the above images came from and where i got my GoogMusic apk http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1308722
still looking for the weather, though.
edit: the weather is semi-trans, not full trans. this is the one i'm running, found within this theme, but it's not where i originally got it from

It has been done for the Nexus S. If you read posts from the thread you mentioned you'll see that most people who installed it on GNex have had issues. I even mentioned it in this thread.

i ran it just fine on mine...
however, because it's essentially the same apk with some minor differences, you can pull all of the images out of the Nexus S GenieWidget.apk and replace the GNex GenieWidget.apk images. this is very simple to do...
edit: actually, now that i think about it, i do remember it not updating or something weird going on with the Nexus S one. this is why i did what i've said above.

Holy crap that is an awesome widget
I am still scratching my head why Google did not even touch or update the stock Genie widget ? I am a big fan of the stock News + Weather, and was hoping with the big ICS update, it would be totally redone, and cooler than anything Sense or Touchwizz offer. But no, Google did not even update the Genie whatsoever.

Title is supposed to say: Why is it impossible to have LauncherPro icons at the bottom and the Sense Clock/Weather widget on top?
At least, I think it's impossible.
Because I've seen some pictures where people have both. But I'm not sure if that's just a photoshopped pic or what.
Does anybody know if it's possible?
And if not, why not??
My guess is it's NOT the sense clock. It's beautiful widgets' clock running on launcher pro.
like above, you are either seeing beautiful widgets or the discontinued fancy widget. Technically the sense theme is part of the rosie/sense launcher. Launcher pro replaces your stock launcher which only the sense widgets seem to be compatible with.
Thanks for the quick answers guys.

How is this done?
Because the 'Beautiful Widget's' one isn't like this.
Yes that is fancy widget you're seeing.

Well hello Mr. Dsl.
Any idea on where I can get that fancy widget? Since the 3rd poster said it's discontinued now?
Can you possibly send me a copy of it (if it's not a paid version?)

Actually, I think that's the Sense weather. The dock at the bottom is a modified version of the Sense dock, so it's not LauncherPro anyway.

Either way you wont notice a difference..fancy widget is actually better to me anyway.
It would be great for people to share their home screen setups, I'm interested to see what is possible with ICS
Unfortunately I can't attach my screenshot as I can't post external links yet.
You can take a screenshot within ICS by pressing the volume down button and power button at the same time.

It's not actually a widget it's a live wallpaper called "wp clock" that has the ability to have a custom background added.

Unless I have got it wrong :/ - I believe a stack widget is one like the YouTube, Gallery and Google photos widgets that come as standard where you can scroll thru them?

Look at the above screenshots, I was on a transformer tablet yesterday at PC world and there was a widget like the ones above but it was for the latest marketplace apps, so i was just wondering if this was available for my phone
Isn't he asking if ics has the same market widget honeycomb does that you can slide through options like you can with sliding through photos and YouTube widget on ics

My marketplace widget looks like the below, so I was just wondering if they could be stackable tiles that I can easily flick through
I don't know why the ICS Market Widget isn't "scrollable" or "stackable" like the Honeycomb one....
Perhaps they can copy it over. I'm sure there is a backup of HC 3.2 Widgets in an installable APK file.

Bit late now for a reply but I thought I would in case anyone else had the same question.
The widget you showed is the play market widget, the stack widget is the previous (better in my opinion) market widget. To get the stack able widget you must revert back to android market (which would not be recommended, and if if possible probably difficult) or find the old widget from somewhere else, if not as an apk maybe found in an old rom. Hope I helped.
Hi there,
Some people asked for something like that: A way to disable all lockscreen widgets in Jelly Bean.
This is a simple solution for the "problem":
An app that contains just a transparent widget.
Programming it was no big deal, but it might help some of you. Here you can see it "in action":
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",

}
The apk can be found in the attachment.

It should work on every ROM and every device as long as it is Android 4.2 or above.
I hope that I am not overstepping by making a request. I have been looking everywhere for a blank home screen widget but all there seems to be are lock screen widgets.. Could you pretty please make it so that this can also be added to the home screen? Is that a difficult thing to do?
Edit: apologies, I found something seconds after posting this..

Hi, I'm sorry for not replying earlier but I'm quite busy at the moment.
No, you don't ask for too much. That's a quite easy change and I'll do it as soon as I've got some spare time.
@Phenom2122: You can find the download of the homescreen version in the first post now.
I don't really know why the apk is so much bigger than the first one but I don't have the drive to search for the reason. However, it works perfectly. Enjoy it.

After being on CM for some time, the one thing I don't like is the stock AOSP clock app, I'm wondering if there is any way to port the stock Samsung ClockPackage.apk one over to CM/AOSP. I tried pasting the stock .apk into the system/data folder and setting permissions, but it still doesn't work, so I'm assuming it relies on TW framework. Nevertheless, would it be possible to port it over? It would be great. Thanks.
Anyone? Is this at least possible to do, or is it simply an impossibility? Thanks
Last bump, one more effort to get a response.
If you're referring to the original S3 Touchwiz clock, try UCCW and the associated GS3 skin:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=in.vineetsirohi.customwidget
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tyler.gs3.ish.full
I have no way of confirming this to work as I have not tried it myself. However, you may be able to flash something like this in your recovery. (Click here)
It'd be advise to backup your ROM in case something goes bad. That would be my recommendation however.

After some research however I'm led to believe it's not possible to use it on non-TW devices due to the necessities of the TW framework. Thanks anyway.

For some odd reason I thought you were referring to the TouchWiz weather widget. I don't know what I was thinking in all honesty. On the subject of a TouchWiz clock on AOSP, I don't think that'll be possible as the clock runs a TouchWiz framework. It's very difficult to get things working without that, and that being noted, you really cannot do much unless Samsung open sources it. I did find a S1/S2 TouchWiz clock working on JB, it may work on KK too. Click here for the thread.
