Does anyone else's Airplane Mode automatically turn on randomly? I've seen it a couple of times where it auto turns on but only shows that I have 0 bars, it doesn't show the airplane icon unless I physically turn it on myself.
I'm sorry in advance if there is already a thread on this. I don't think there's a search button on the XDA app

It sounds like you are simply loosing the cell signal and not that Airplane mode is turning on. If the signal isn't actually going out, but rather the phone is not picking up the signal, I'd contact Verizon. Turning the Airplane Mode on and off is a common cure for signal loss. If the signal comes back when you toggle Airplane Mode, they you are experiencing signal loss - not a good thing.

Nah its actually turning on Airplane Mode. If I randomly have no signal, I'll press and hold the power button and it says Airplane Mode/Airplane mode is On.

This second one is what happens when I turn Airplane Mode off.
And this third one is what happens when I turn Airplane Mode on. Notice the airplane icon that wasn't showing in the first picture. I don't know why it randomly turns it on as shown in the first picture.

Yes, it happens to me every couple of days. Phone thinks it's in airplane mode, but curiously only GSM doesn't work, wifi and bluetooth are still functional. Turning airplane mode off is impossible and triggers a hang/restart after a while. Only way to get back calling functionality is to reboot.
There has been an issue logged for this, as I've seen from another post. Please star if you can so we can get more eyes on the issue

Alright cool. Yeah I was seeing if anybody else was having this problem. It gets annoying after the first couple times it does it.

sorry for the white spaces, simply i upgrade to RUU_Marvel_S_HTC_Europe_2.13.401.2 to 401.3 and finished correctly but to the reset the phone now flasing black screen and it do not turn.
could be the low battery the problem?

i tried this a lot of times, first i remove the battery, i wait 20 minutes after try hold volume down - and press power for 5 secs, however it only turn on and flash black screen appears with a horizontal line with rain and when I try to charge the battery light appears orange and soon the light is removed and flash the black screen appears and it does not charge

I had similar situation.
Whent I did flash from 2.3.3 to 2.3.5 RuuEurope_2.13.401.3, Wildfire S stopped working. Black blinking screen with power on, without any vibration. Doesn't work service menu, hard reset etc.
I send HTC to service on the warranty. They Repaired it for free.
Service's Raport:
They replaced the motherboard (with new IMEI), memory and the LITEON module.
Phone befor this accident was on Official HTC 2.3.3 without Root.
So, I hope that, the HTC will repair Your Wildfire on warranty.

It's in Qualcomm Diagnostics Mode, there is a tutorial on how to get out of it but I need to look for it.
Hello. I posted something in the ICS thread since I thought it was an ICS issue but... it seems the power button in my 4G Touch has suddenly stopped working. The phone rebooted randomly and then the key just won't register. It doesn't go to sleep, or turn back on or anything. Heck, I even did a factory reset (its a stock ICS) to see if that resolved the issue and no... No go. The button click so it doesn't feel like its broken or anything, though it has a good cover.
What could have happened? Is it ICS related or did it just... stop working? =/
i had the same problem with my og epic....the button was clicking but it wasnt working...took the phone to sprint and they replaced the phone...i guess it was from too much flashing...lol...after that i started using quickboot...

Literally just had this issue. I thought it was from AOKP, but turns out it was just hardware. Sprint couldn't fix it for me so had to get a replacement. The button was just broken on the inside.

Same problem here, I plan to take it into a sprint store for repair/replacement and I want to unroot my phone and revert it to a stock rom before hand but I need the power button to do so...heh... any ideas? Thanks!
Power Button Not Working SGS4 Not Sleeping SOLVED
OMG I was at my wits end with this brand new phone. Power button worked fine but would NOT put the phone to sleep. Nor would the phone sleep on its own. Wakelock checkers revealed nothing. Then, by pure luck, I did something with the Android SDK which brought up the logs... and Lo! and Behold! I saw this:

Now putting aside the fact that it was "Finding out whether" not "Checking if," this told me what was up.
What had happened was that I had deleted the boot animation files and not replaced them. I THOUGHT I had replaced them, but I had not. Ergo the constant checking thereof.

SGS4? We talking the device or the ROM? You can also delete the boot animation from the /system/media folder and it will just use the stock Samsung boot animation buried in the ROM's code, my guess is you've got more going on than you think you do. You might want to take a look at this thread to see just what's up.

The device would not sleep or turn off the screen because the boot animation files were missing (which was my fault).
Hello guys.
Today I woke up to some strange events happening to my phone.
I left my phone turned on while I slept, as usual. When I woke up, I noticed that the phone auto brightness wasn't working at all. It was stuck at the minimum brightness and it wouldn't change even if I pointed the phone at the sun. Rebooting the device did not fix the issue.
After a while I decided to pass some music from the computer to the phone with the cable. The cable kept disconnecting the phone, like it had a bad contact. I had a really hard time to put my music on the phone (lot's of phone and PC reboots).
Then, when I finally put the music in it, I plugged the headphones and tried to listen to music, only to be presented with lots of white noise mixed with the music. The white noise "changed" if I moved the cable thingy. Again, reboot didn't fix the problem. I plugged the headphones in my computer and they worked just fine.
I left the phone alone and went on my business. Some time passed and I noticed that the LED light had a permanent green light that would just not go away. I managed to fix this by rebooting in safe mode and booting back to normal mode. This seemed to fix it permanently since it did not happen again.
Now, I tried to use my GPS to play some Pokemon Go. While I was playing I noticed that I was not able to use the button that made the map point in my direction. I installed a Compass app and to my surprise, it said that I didn't have a sensor for it. My compass seems to be gone.
I went ahead and did a factory reset. It did not work. Every single of those issues keeps happening.
Then I tried to use the "refurbish" option on LG UP. I'm always getting "Error: Error Code = 0x2000, Can't decide current device mode
Any suggestions? My device is the European with stock firmware. My S/N begins with 604. I really didn't want to send my phone to repair, I know it will take ages. RIght now in my city it has been really hot (43ÂșC in the shadow), but there's really nothing I can do about the heat. This never happened with my Galaxy S4 Mini. Help?

Try going to the service menu and testing everything from there. This is done by dialing a code in the dialer app.
So for the international version it is *#546368#*815#
For the Dual sim version it is *#546368#*818#
I assume for the NA version it is *#546368#*811#

Hey, thanks for the reply. And I told you it's too damn hot here so the only water contact the phone might have was with my sweat.
As for the tests, the phone failed Barometer, something called TL wrong and the proximity test. The GPS itself was fine tho

In that menu, try going to Device Test and choose SAAT. Then tap on Service Menu Manual Test and then tap on Key and next tap on Test then Cal Start. This will help you recalibrate the proximity sensors. Use your phone after the recalibration to check if it works properly.

I guess it's time to send it for repair. At least my humidity thingy hasn't been triggered.
So this is what happened, a couple of days ago I was using my Nexus 5x normally when it turned off. I tried to turn it on but nothing happened so i tried to turn it on whith the power and volume buttons it turned on but the screen froze when the loading the colored dots. I tried to turn it on again with safe mode and it worked but the screen froze again after a couple of minutes. Now this freezing thing happened every time i tried to turn on the phone.
A friend told me to wipe the cache partition but nothing happened. the told me to factory restore it, the I was able to turn on the phone but started to reboot some times or just froze when starting, so another friend who knows about android phones told me to do the wipe data/factory reset and thats when the phone turned off while wiping the data, now the phone doesn't turn on at all. I saw the red light like when the phone is out of battery so I started charging it but the red light started blinking a couple of times then stoped.
One more thing, one of the times I turned it one it looked like it was everything ok except that the finger reader wasn't working and there was no google imprint menu so I restarted the phone and de finger reader was working but the phone was rebooting spontaneously. This happened before trying with the wiping the cache and doing the factory reset.
Thats basically what happened, is there something I can do?
My phone is the LG Nexus 5x 16GB whit android nougat 7.0

Hi, complete n00b here. I found this post when searching for answers about my own Nexus 5x. I ended up contacting Google. I got the quickest "we're sending you a new one" that I've ever seen. This is what they told me: "You are not the only one it does look like there was an update and Nexus 5x phones were affected. We will get you taken care of with a new one with the update already done to avoid any complications in the future like this."
FYI, mine was under warranty and I have Google Fi. YMMV

It took me many many tries to access the recovery because it just wouldnt let me power down and all possible volume down /up, bixby and power combinations didnt seem to work and the screen often just stayed black while giving vibrations. So I finally were able to access recovery after 20 tries with vol down, bixby, power and then quickly change it to vol up.
Now comes the questions what I should do to troubleshoot. The recovery menu seemed pretty laggy as well.
I wiped cache and restarted, but no improvements. Touchscreen works every 30th press, screen sometimes flickers.
Issues:
Touchscreen doesnt work (every 30th press approximately)
accessing recovery is a game of luck
screen flickers (sometimes bright flashes) I attached a picture of one of those seizures
random vibrations
Last resort is a complete wipe but I'm hesitant because it seems likely to be a hardware issue and replacing the screen wouldn't require the need to delete all data.
I hope someone has an idea. What confused me most were the issue accessing recovery.

It's a issue with samsung. They dont know what it is. Either the screen or hardware. If it's under warranty that's your only option. Look up samsung green screen and you'll see

I'll check if the warranty is still valid. I dont know if you can help with this question as well:
The screen has had a little unobtrusive crack in one corner for a while, I suppose when they do a hardware repair they will have to replace the screen as well and charge for it? Or is it irrelevant in a warranty case?
