Galaxy Nexus - Installation Aborted - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hello everybody!
I have tryed to to install the rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1402341(Milestone 1)) on my Galaxy Nexus but it keeps saying me Installation aborted!
• I have tryed to install it via rom manager and recovery mode by press up/down button + power button.
• I have also made wipe data/factory reset in recovery
• I have also checked the file if it is broken and even redownloaded it
• renamed the file to update
• etc.
But nothing is working. It is still saying me "Installation aborted".
May someone help me who has any clue how to fix the problem?
Thanks for advance.

Hey!!
do you have the Verizon Gnex device ? there are different versions of the build for the CDMA and GSM versions.
Is there any other message that is displayed before the install aborted msg?
is your clockwork mod up to date ?

"Help" Recovery mode error "Galaxy Note 2 N7100

Hello ..... I'm trying to install CyanogenMod ROM on My 10.1 2 N7100 Galaxy Note previously and I am root and I followed all the steps you need to do for the installation, but when I'm in recovery mode and give it to install the file from the SD few seconds later I get the following error ..
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
My menu is so different that last part where it says: "Installation aborted", does not appear.
Maybe I have not installed the Recovery Version required for this installation, because even in the menu options do not appear as I have seen in other tutorials, for example:
The option "ADVANCE" to Wipe Dalvik Cache do
if anyone has answers I would be very grateful,
Greetings and thanks in advance
Sorry for my bad English

[Q] Cyanogenmod (official) OTA update failing - root possibly lost?

Hi
I've been prompted in the last few days to install an OTA cyanogenmod update.
When I accept the installation, the phone reboots.
About 1/5 of the way through the progressbar, the installation halts and I come to a screen headed "Root access possibly lost. Fix? THIS CANNOT BE UNDONE".
Various 'no' options, then 'yes - fix root (/system/xbin/su). Regardless of whether I select yes/no, the installation seems to fail and I reboot into my current version.
Lower on the screen, after the heading "Installing update...." is the error code "assert failred: apply_patch_check("/system/xbin/su", [hexcodes], [hexcodes]) E:Error in /cache/cm-maguro-[hex]-signed-1.zip" (Status 7) Installation aborted.
Any views as to how I can get past this and get the update installed?
Many thanks

Having exact same issue with my Galaxy S3 , very annoying.
i have a similar problem with the latest CM update. it goes into recovery to do the update and fails, but it immediately reboots the phone into the old version, so i am unable to see the error message.
does anyone know where the error log of the cm recovery is located?

+1
i fixed it by doing the following:
- go into recovery mode (shutdown, then press vol-up, vol-down and power, press vol-up (to select recovery), press power)
- wipe cache partition
- wipe dalvik cache (under advanced)
- reboot
it then downloads the update again and this time it worked
I'm using omnimetal rom, but also come across with the root access may be lost problem. Every time after I flashing a new kernel in cwm, and pressed reboot the system, the message pops up. I choose "yes, fix it" every time. But the message still exist. I clear cache and dalvik cache when I flash a new kernel. So, clearing cache and dalvik cache does not fix the root access problem.

could you elaborate how you did it? when did you go into recovery mode? before CM installer? or after when it's done asking if you want to fix root?
I did it twice. I said Yes, fix root. Didn't work. So I didn't fix root second time. Didn't work also.

[Q] Bricked Nubia N7 Mini?

Hello everyone, i'm new to this forum and i hope anyone can help me. I recently received a Nubia z7 mini. It's an awesome phone! However just tonight i tried to upgrade using the OTA option. When my phone rebooted into the Nubia v1.0 recovery it kept displaying this message:
E: footer error
E: signature verification failure
operation aborted
The phone then rebooted.
I then searched for other ways of updating and this is where i went wrong. I downloaded the latest official update, placed it on my phones external SD and tried to install using flashify. Since the search for zip file option didn't load properly i clicked on 'boot image' (really didn't know what i was doing there). It then loaded the zip file, and asked for my okay. I then rebooted and the phone didn't start anymore, it's just stuck at the Nubia logo. I can get it into recovery mode (Nubia recovery 1.0) but if i try to flash a new rom i keep getting the above errors (footer error and signature verification error).
My phone is not being recognized by windows right now so i cant flash with odin.
Is there a way to fix this phone ?
Many thanks in advance!

Well, I can inform that you do need a custom recovery on that phone in order to flash a custom ROM... Or it wont work. But i dont have that phone, you can try this.
1.copy ****.zip to root folder of the phone SD card (no need to unzip).
2.Turn off the phone, then keep pressing power button and volume+ button until the robot icon appear, then press power button again and it will show as below
3.Press the volume- to move up and down to choose“wipe data/factory reset”, then press volume+ button to confirm.
4.Choose “yes—delete all user data”, then press volume+ button to enter the page as below.
5.It will enter below page after finishing delete all user data.
6.Then choose“apply update from sdcard”
7.Find and select the ROM, press volume+ to enter the page as below.
8.Please make sure the power is sufficient during the upgrading. It will showed as below when the upgrading finished.
9.Choose “reboot system now”,then press volume+ button to reboot your phone.
Also, Are you rooted?

Hi Exxo,
Thanks for your reply. Yes, i am rooted
Now in step 1 what do you mean with ***.zip. Is that supposed to a zipfile to change the recovery?
i tried downloading and flashing Clockworkmod Touch Recovery 6.0.4.3 CWM (downloaded from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2531628).
However it is giving me the following error:
Finding update pakacge
Opening update package
Verifying update package
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted
anyone?

(Solved) L310: rooted but unable to install CM12.1 - Error-Message included

Hi,
after giving 4.4.2-StockROM a (long) try, I wanted to install [SM-T31X][5.1.1] CyanogenMod 12.1 unofficial build (by tohenk).
I followed the instruction for TWRP-Installation and the one for CM12.1 by tohenk.
Doing so, I installed TWRP via Odin 3.09 (successful).
To root the T310, I had to install the zip "ROOT_SGT3_8.0.zip". (also successful)
Reentering TWRP to flash the CM12.1-zip, I selected the file from internal SD-Card, getting a warning that the file shall not be compatible - having had the same with the root-zip, i swiped to install.
Resulting in the error (got a screenshot, but can't link it - to few posts):
"Can't install this package on top of incompatible data. Please try another package or run a factory reset.
E: Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/fw/cm-12.1-20151018-UNOFFICIAL-lt01wifi.zip'
Error flashing zip '/sdcard/fw/cm-12.1-20151018-UNOFFICIAL-lt01wifi.zip"
... as offered by TWRP, i reset the Dalvik-Cache, rebooted. All Apps have been reinitialized, rebooted again into TWRP, getting the same Error.
So I installed philz_touch_6.08.9-lt01wifi.zip - but getting the same Error...
At the moment, I'm stucked with rooted StockROM...
..what did I miss?
(thanks for any help)
- - - - - - -
Edit:
Found the error:
prepareing the Flash-Procedure, I did a "factory reset" from within StockROM-Settings.
After performing a Factory-Reset out of PhilzTouch and wiping Dalvik-Cache (without rebooting the GT3 after Wiping), I was capable to install the CM12.1-zip, which runs perfectly fine now...
(somewhere it should be mentioned "do the factory reset from recovery, not from within ROM"
tohenk: you did a wonderful Job on the CM12.1-ROM! Thank you!!
I'm having the same issue.... so I installed Philz_touch_6.19.3 but I still can't flash any of the ROM's for T310...
Do you have any suggestions?
My tablet start up to SAMSUNG TAB 3 logo and stuck there...

Android One: Recovery mode warning sign

Hi,
I had previously rooted my device: Android 1 - Micromax Canvas A1. I also had installed CWM on my device. For some reason, I have removed recovery mode and unrooted my device. My device had Marshmallow with February patch.
But whenever I try to get OTA it doesn't get succesfull. Whenever I try to go into recovery mode it shows my dead android with warning sign saying "No command!". When I try to press "Power Key + Volume UP" I get error message saying "Error in @/cache/recovery/block.map (status 7)".
Reading few posts, I understood that some system files got corrupted and I won't get OTA updates. So downloaded one Zip files and I flashed all the *.img files (recovery, system, boot, etc). Now my system had Android 5.1. But I'm getting same error while going into recovery mode.
I also tried to use "Smart Phone Flash Tool " but whenever I click "Download button" it stucks in the same state showing no progress.
I have read many posts and tried many things but I'm stuck at this stage. Can anybody help me out of this problem?
Update: Though I wasn't able to get into recovery mode directly. I (major) updated my device from KitKat to Marshmallow. Then, minor updates also went fine. Now, I'm on latest April 2016 update. Still, when I try to get into recovery mode, I still see "No Command". But after pressing Volume Up + Power button I get the recovery option. Is this default behavior.
