Seems like someone's keyboard really is straddling all their passwords....
Did you download any language packs, etc? Cause mind had only used a tiny bit of data compared to that

Doing any voice input? That would use data

If you've got root, you can disable data for specific apps with a number of apps. Titanium and myBackupPro both do this, I think.
+1 Thank you all,
Made my uneasy especially it is a ported swype. Probably something harmless though like trying to download language pack or using voice input. Rooting and disable data usage might be the best option while waiting for official version of swype.
where did you get that ported copy? I'd still be concerned.

this will be considered WAREZ as the Nexus does not comes with Swype
even if you are on the Beta program you are not allowed to share any of its files
Thread closed. Swype as has been stated is warez here. If you want swype get into the beta. Don't post, use, or discuss ported versions. This is your warning. Thanks.

I hadn't heard of Samsung free apps before, but engadget ( http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/21/samsungs-in-a-gifting-mood-is-giving-away-up-to-16-free-games/) just listed a method for getting free apps from Samsung. Apparently you instal an apk and tell the store you're in Europe. Unfortunately the apk is only for the 9100 ie ATT.
EDIT: Just use the apk ysuleman posted below, it works and is easy.
Or you could pull it from the telus roms, they come with a version for our phone.
is there any new word on this? i know our gs2 is only 1 of 5 vairents but it still falls under a gs2.
The Samsung apps works on both of Mr. x's ROM's. I had trouble trying to pull it from there and use them It on other ROM's.

If he's on cm7 he's better off just signing up for and downloading the newest beta. It works a lot better and has newer options.

ICS Keyboard
Works damn good...predictable text is much nicer than Swype's with less mistakes. Give that a shot...it's in the Market. She just might like that one better. And don't forget the ICS Dictionary addon.
The link that was provided did not work on her phone unfortunately.

Chinese keyboard? Where did you get the phone? From Asia?
Swyped on my Galaxy Nexus running AOKP with Trinity Kernel, overclocked to 1.4GHz
Some kind of Asian system app. What ROM/kernel are you using?
Its called pinyin ime apk- just a Chinese keyboard. Its actually made by Google and usually in the stock firmware. No need to be alarmed.

correct, it's available on stock rom, both google released factory images and when building from source.
Please forgive me for asking what is probably a noob question:
For the last few weeks, perhaps since I upgraded to FI27, the google search doesn't pull up the contacts and local apps anymore. I can't figure out how to get it back. I've seen something about this feature bring removed from the galaxy III ... Did they do this to us as well? If not, can anyone point me to the correct setting for this? If yes ... Any workaround for this (I'm rooted, in case it matters).
Thanks for your help ... And again, my apologies if this is something I'm spoofed you figure out.

Apple can suck it! Can't wait the the USPTO finalizes the invalidation of apples patents on crap that shouldn't have gotten a patent in the first place.

Yea F&CK Apple.
But if you want to get Google to search your phone you'll have to use an older 'GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk'
Hint you might want to read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762570
I haven't used this in a while I'm quite happy with Google Now so far.
Good luck.

Hi guys.
I have problem with graphical issues on Android 4.4 when using AOSP Browser.
It used to be like this on 4.3 when I had any service in accessibility settings active, but when using 4.4 I can't find any solution for this issue.
Here is how it looks like:

Anyone else?

It is caused by quick controls as I see. I would be able to pay for the fix if some dev could do that.
Any other browser with quick controls out there?

Habit browser has them, although they are a little different and you have to set them to your liking. It's a great browser to replace the AOSP in kit kat.
This is what happens when I leave the browser.. For a split second

There is no more comfortable browser than AOSP. We need some dev to work it out. Buy how we can find him?
