Okay so a lot of people have been flashing ROMS that are not for the Sprint galaxy s2 epic touch 4g( for example the European Galaxy s2 version of ICS) and end up getting a bricked phone that cant be read by the pc or odin. First of all READ B4 Flashing!!. secondly read the forum rules. Search before posting a new thread that someone already asked and lastly I am currently trying to find a way to fix this problem since my friend did the same thing and i have his phone at the moment. i will post an update if i find a solution unless someone beats me to it. Here is an example of what not to flash.
(do not flash u will have a fail EPIC)

install the drivers for the international version and then odin should be able to read your phone

Can't believe some of the stuff people do in here or the things they post... If this was really for our phones why not just wait for a developer to put it all together for you... Haste makes waste...SMDH
I hope someone comes up with a solution for their phones because it was more than 1 person that flashed it...
so, does that mean an official OTA in 2013? haha **troll**

When I was a noob, it wouldn't go near something like this unless I read that 200people have done it succesfully before me. I wouldn't even think of just flashing something unless it was cleary stated it was for my phone and had step by step instructions on what to do and I would confirm about 50x that it was for my phone before actually falshing it.
Now that I am no longer a noob and would like to consider myself a veteran at flashing, I even stay further away from these things. lol

+1 Back in 2009 when I first started modding (a Motorola Razr) I stumbled onto XDA. After getting my wizard 1st, and then my excalibur (t Mo Dash), I made sure I read everything thrice, even 4 times, before flashing. I was a lot more gung-ho back then. After totally bricking my Fender MT3G, I take more caution. I am super ocs now with my E4GT (best device I've ever owned), so I was just kidding about the guinea pig thing, lol.

It also depends on your software version to determine if this will work. Also since I know you may be busy let me help you and tell you that the actual CWM zip in the thread wont download because it refers to a shutdown website. Well it did not do anything for me but feel free to try...
I have flashed hundreds....and I am honestly telling you hundreds of phones and times and this is the first time I have gotten stuck...problem is this time it isn't my phone.
I had a co-worker ask me to help him with his SGS 2....took me a few to realize that his Sprint SGS 2 is actually the epic 4g or 4g touch....but anyway I made a back up through his recovery and then did a factory reset, cache wipe, system format, and davlik wipe before trying to flash AOKP 34 from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1565994
Well the flash failed with a status 7...tried to restore the backup but it says there are no files. If you try to boot it just sticks at the Samsung logo....I can get into Odin mode but no computers so far have recognized the device. The other problem is so how is CWM is gone and I am left with what I assume is the stock recovery....you know the whole signature required stuff.
What can I do to get this back to working again?

SPH-D710 = Epic 4G Touch
SPH-D700 = Epic 4G
Two different phones. Luckily, I own both.
What you should do:
1. Download Epic 4G Touch drivers
2. Use a non-stock cable
3. Download Odin for the touch
4. Download an Odin tar for the latest E4GT stock (EL29 I think)
5. Run Odin as admin
6 Reboot download mode
7. Plug phone in slowly to a back port on a desktop if possible
8. Put the Epic Touch pit in the pit section (NOT victory 8g)
9. Put EL29 in the PDA slot
10. Start Odin

As of right now, the roms for your S3 are not meant to be used on other S3 variants. Bricks might happens or a soft one might happen. Before flashing a Rom make sure you are in the right development section an you read the entire op, twice. Until other devs or experienced users find a way to make them cross compatible, please refrain from using other carriers S3 roms.
I am working on this so that all roms will work on all carriers

That's slick!:good:
hard brick - a pretty paperweight (tonight)
should have been more careful, soft bricked the phone, 2 times trying to change the dpi.
once trying to flash a rom - the rom flash, took it to QHSUSB_DLOAD mode, not impressed but i'll take this downtime as a time to relax.
Another way to avoid a brick; Don't use a mod, theme, tool or ROM until it's confirmed by multiple people in the community that it's working properly. Read the last 3-4 pages of a thread

I agree with you, I ended up with a soft brick stuck at the samsung glowing logo after trying to unroot because I got a crack the front plastic near the headphone jack. I managed to reset the flash counter and install the rom but odin failed at the end. Now I'm hesitant to flash another ROM. Anyone else here waiting for JellyBean Rom? Definitely take your time and always make sure your computer installs the drivers before doing anything! I got BB to exchange it for me since they couldn't get it to boot and the mystery crack wasn't my fault. I only had it for like 3 days IN A CASE TOO. Happy Flashing dudes.
I'm just glad i saw a forum for the gs3. I would've bricked my phone after i got it.
Another bricker my own fault went to unroot to take in for service and went and loaded a wrong .tar file of the stock system. Anyway...not looking for sympathy..just wanted to say thanks for the forum that gave me the tools to fix my mistake

I think I just made that mistake...wrong directory in a mirror...
ANyhow I ended up with a QHSUSB_DLOAD device...looking hard to unbrick...
I accidentally flashed a pit file in Odin which I think was made for a Galaxy Vibrant, my other phone.
The phone wont boot at all. When I plug it into the computer, the computer makes noise like it registers it though. The normal 'ding' sound followed by an error-like sound.
Is there any fix?

And I want you to know that I was laughing at Rushing's comment, not your dilemma. I'm sorry you bricked your phone. If this does not get moved to the Q&A section soon, you may want to ask the question again there. I'm sure someone will chime in there with helpful comments, even if it's just to confirm that you need a new phone. I've never had to deal with more than a soft brick, so I'm not sure if a jig will help you or not.

You screwed your phone. You flashed a vibrant file on a T989. I've done this mistake when I was a super noobie thinking a "galaxy s2" name applied to all of them and I flashed a I9100 on my T989. I enjoyed a night of disappointment before I was able to call and finally get my replacement sent (it was under 20 days, thank god!) if your not so lucky, your screwed. However if they will accept it and return it they wont question you at all as long as you are super-hard bricked and cant boot or get into download mode or anything.
If you happened to change the recovery via odin, which I think you did, for something that ain't xompatible with our phone, yes you're done.
