hi all,
UPDATE: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21024930&postcount=17
i've posted in the SGS2 forum that the Sony Braiva Engine works with the Samsung Gallery3D a fortnight ago and ready for release a demo for SGS2. since here is my old place and some of my friends are still using I9000, i would like to see if any of you want to have a I9000 port also, or any I9000 developers want to port it. however since i don own an I9000 anymore, i may not be able to test it myself but have to look for other options

simply, by only using a conf would think an engine from other mobile to be working without doing any research about it is plainly stupid. seriously @[email protected]
it not even ported yet for i9000 but yes a port maybe welcome ykk
but how it go with voodoo colour when we use bravia ?
Does the bravia mod really work in non-SE phones(which don't have necessary bravia hardware) ? Doesn't it need some hardware?
do you think the ics 4.0.3 here can use your mod? thanks.

I dono what if bravia is used on top of voodoo color. I think the final output is based on the voodoo plus bravia's sharpness

What is this Bravia thing really? a sharpening filter with some digital vibrance adjustment?
Except for the funky brand name we have the same stuff with Samsung MDNIE and sharpness setting, am I wrong?

demo version is now available, but it is not tested on I9000. however, it should be working on I9000 also since it is not a major one and seems it's hardware independent
interested person or advanced users may try it but i am not sure it works at the moment
sorry about that
for more info, read this in the sgs2 thread
Seem really interesting, really hope to try a working version on my Galaxy S, good luck ykk_five maybe it could be include in Cyanogenmod.

The only thing that is different is that the signal strength bars are green on galaxy S.
Atleast on my own. It's very sleek and good looking.

There is the link bugs are listed there. The only problem that im having is that the batttery runs out pretty fast but nothing dramatic. Its not recommended for daily usage but im still using it and loving it.
Damn, CM7 only ?
BTW can you add more screenshots on different portions of the UI ?
I can try to do this.
// Whoa! Looks little bit funny:
It's time for a change...I think some might like the changes others might not..
I've created an App. (it's my first one so no laughing!!!)
It contains the same options you know and love and a couple of new ones!!!
The idea of creating an App is to cut down on the number of files I have to tinker with each week. It was taking too much time. This way I only have to modify the SystemUI.apk and the Launcher2.apk and I'm done.
Those users who couldn't use this Mod because of the changes to services.jar should now be fine..
Couple of things to note..
The option to Hide the Debug Icon is missing. I'm trying to work out a way of hiding the icon without modifying services.jar
If you change the battery Top Bar you might notice a delay of a few seconds before it updates.. (Just me being Lazy)
The Auto Close feature is now standard with the Launcher so the option to enable it is no longer needed.
There are three version
ESCenter - Center Clock Version
ESSwitched - Center Clock, Notification and signal icons switched.
ESRight - Standard version with clock on the right as normal.

i strong heartedly disagree with the above poster. I'm on MIUI atm, and I get one full day of use out of my SGS, with HSDPA enabled /always connected, lots and lots of browsing, phone calls, sms, yahoo and whatsapp messenger online almost 24/7, some games, some BT transfers and some Wifi.
then again, I do know how to customize my SGS with black themes and various other settings to extend battery life...btw, no underclocking or undervolting..
no way you're gonna get the same level of polish and the same experience on Eclair..
just my 2 cents...
cheers!

I would have to also tell you, yea there is...
Just because there are people like yourself who extremly are satisfied with it and consider it a top rom, doesn't mean everyone see it in the same light.
I stuck with MIUI with every version from 3 to the latest 5.3, it was my first ever custom rom, and as much as I wanted to like it I finnaly decided to give up on it for the foreseeable future. Even for someone who tried to like it was biased toward it it is more a gimmick rom for entertainment, than proper sgs rom you'd consider serious. Even tried to get my friends on it while I was on it, everyone hated it.
In my opinion it has great potential, but its still in its infancy. It is way to rough and misguided to be a good solid rom. Even going to a base 2.2 rom just rooted and lagfixed beats MIUI in almost every aspect. I finnaly don't feel like breaking my phone again. Almost every aspect of MIUI is different, which is where the appeal comes from, but somehow the difference is rarely for the better and it manages never to be as good even an original rom in terms of usability. At the moment I would consider it the poorest choice out of the the popular roms.
Since you will probably ask, the biggest downfalls off the top of my head I had with MIUI is unrelenting and completely unsolvable battery drain issues. This alone makes the rom not worth taking seriously. Calendar, the way you set your alarm, messaging, contacts etc, having to press double or more buttons to get to particular areas the stock phone does in 1, little things like that.
Laggy menus is another one.
I dont even want to get into how bad this rom is with the camera. Horrendeus software, menus etc, recording upside down, and on top of that it completely incapacitated the video recording of the phone. VErsion 5.3 and the videos still record at 3fps and the frames jump back and forward every 2 seconds as well...
heres miui on a good day for you.
Are you the dev of this mods ?
thanks

Adding an extra option isn't that difficult. Getting that extra option to do what it's supposed to do is the tricky bit!!! )
If Galnet has managed to work out how to implement this feature I'm sure he's more than capable of adding an option to the settings menu but having said that I'm more than happy to help out if needed..

I guess a "feet on the ground" option would be waiting for the official MIUI devs to support TV-out in future releases. Mind MIUI is still beta.

Hi OP!

You want to get the soft keys for Nexus?
There is one really easy way!
Read this my post and you can put those soft keys for Nexus: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37514417&postcount=4
Copying the softkeys form sony device's SystemUI.apk and putting them to Nexus's SystemUI.apk takes only few minutes and creating flashable zip doesn't take much time..

Just use metamorph. Much easier than even that.

Yes, but not if you have ROMs such as CM, AOKP and other Non-Stock ROMs. Especially when the pack should be universal.
<sarcasm>Thank you for being respectful and I am sure everyone feels the same way</sarcasm>
Also btw your launcher looks very outdated from your screenshots. The launcher in my ROM is a direct port from the XPERIA Z OS dump on the thread. No offense, but what exactly does this zip offer that dosent have a newer version? (other than the audio engine. Idk the version info for that).

Nope, you an adjust the launcher settings, and my setting just looks that way. You can tweak stuff such as the dock appearance.
But if you feel anything could be updated, why not contribute to the project on github in the OP?
Can't wait to try this.

I am running it on stock 4.2.0, so I am pretty sure this should run on 4.2.2 too.
Downloading!

Ok. Your idea is good and your off to a great start, but execution is poor. I do like your ideals though. Ill wait till your next version to use this mabye.
Here's what I noticed:
Your home launchers are indeed out of date. Your weather widgets and clock widgets are out of date. Your wallpapers are of the wrong resolutions. Their color saturation is overly saturated.
In case anybody wants this ported Alloy Holo theme to be applied via xThemeEngine.
First, if you still don't have it, here's the procedure on how to make xThemeEngine work on your phone.
1) Install Xposed Framework - download from here.
2) Open Xposed app and press "Install/update".
3) Reboot your phone.
4) Install XThemeEngine - download from here.
5) Activate XThemeEngine in Xposed module.
6) Reboot your phone again.
That's it! You just then download and install any ported themes around and select it in xThemeEngine app(needs soft reboot for the theme to take effect).

This is particularly for PSX ROM users since it doesn't currently support the original theme chooser theme engine.
I've ported this before during my time in Xperia T/TX section. And it is permitted by the original themer.
The ported theme is far from perfect and still needs some work(e.g. messaging app I did not include due to black font in dark BG, some toggles are not themed or still needs proper redirection). I only did a direct simple port. For the mean time it is still acceptable for me at least, just wanted to share with other PSX ROM users who missed themes.

Thanks it looks cool , how can we port other themes that we love like you did ?

Thanks for the mention.:good:
Will this port not work on roms or has it been modified to work specifically on PSX?
After all, PSX is AOSP and there are a some other roms around here based on that.
Yes dully, it could be fine with other aosp-based also. Hope others can feedback. Coz right now I'm quite satisfied with PSX so I don't want to try other ROM for the mean time.

Thanks for this, just now checking out the xposed stuff.
@Rycon33, Why dont you post up all the themes you ported on the Xperia, they should all work.
Dont forget stock ROM's around these parts are AOSP.

Mate, you need xThemeEngine installed first(and xposed framework). Please follow procedure here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2240180

Thanks. But I really think you should add installation instructions. I am familiar with Xposed but have never heard of xThemeEngine.

I had the impression that most are already familiar with xThemeEngine hence I didn't included the instructions anymore. Sure no prob, I'll add it later in the OP(EDIT: done!)
