apps shrink into bottom quarter screen - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

gn vzw 4.0.2 stock.
Three apps , overdrive, united airlines, and continental airlines , all start up in the bottom left quarter of the screen, and are unusable.
The screen is completely back, except for a rectangle of the bottom left quarter, and the app itself is in the top left corner of that rectangle.
Anybody else seeing this? Any ideas how to fix it?

In settings if you go to Developer options, is Force GPU rendering enabled? If it is, try disabling that and see if it sorts out the issue.

Status bar issue

Hi guys,
I am experiencing something really annoying. Many times when I press the left arrow (the one that opens the menu with all apps) the Status bar drops down. This is not all: sometimes when I hit an app to open or even when I try to type something, the Status bar drops down... Could it be a screen calibration issue? Any1 experiencing the same?
Thanks.
I've noticed the same thing occasionally, but I came to the conclusion that it was my thumb or finger wrapped around the back if the screen holding the phone just touching the top corner/edge of the screen, causing the notification area to pop downwards!
Have a fiddle around using the phone and if it happens again look closely where your fingers are

stop holding it like it's an iPhone seriously, your left thumb is bumping into the status bar. knock it off...
I hate the iphone. Very very much. So I wont ever do anything iphone like. I thought it might be my thumb but still.. Touch is better on galaxy s unfortunately. But that phone is worth as a whole.

Pen Pointer off by 1mm

So just got a galaxy note II and I noticed the pointer icon when using the S-Pen is off by 1mm or less. Is this normal? I also have a Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet but it doesn't show the pointer icon so I've never noticed if it was really off.
Are you right or left handed? There's a setting to switch between the two, I believe it's set to right handed by default. It may be the cause of your issue.
I'm right handed and its set to Right Handed. Its almost like the pointer is shifted up about 1mm, not to the left or right.
Been having the problem for a long time. The pointer is shifted by about 2mm downwards in my case. Have tried almost everything but no joy.

I saw this app from the Play Store a while back.
Reset Spen
Have not tried it, but maybe it will work for you.
Doesn't work...

You are holding it wrong.
Seriously, the S-Pen is very sensitive to tilt so you may want to try adjusting your grip.
Here are some tricks to calibrate the S-Pen (from http://thetechieguy.com/2012/06/26/how-to-calibrate-galaxy-note-s-pen/) but I didn't have much success with these :
- Press all 4 corners of the screen.
- Switch to "left handed" than back to "right handed" (AFAIK it is what the "Reset Spen" app does)
- Do "Horizontal calibratrion" and "Gyroscope calibration" (I am very skeptical about this one)

Weird bug relating to touchscreen

I had an issue pop up about 5 days ago that I haven't been able to find any help about so I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. When touching the top of my screen from about mid-screen all the way to the left edge half the time it won't recognize my input now. The status bar still expands so the issue is starting right below that. Alot of times when I am trying to use a back button on the top left corner or type an address into the web browser etc the screen will not register my touch at all. Maybe 1 out of 30 taps it will work but this is baffling me. I have tried fresh rom installs and switching keyboards/apps but that doesn't do anything. Could it be screen calibration or the screen going bad?
the easiest way I can explain this issue and consistently replicate it is if I take an app on the home screen and long press and try to drag it to the "remove" trashcan, about the time I get to the trash can the app will jump above the trashcan.

Nexus 7 touch screen problem on the right edge of the screen. is it normal ?

Hello.
i imported a nexus 7 tablet from a local market because its still not officialy available here yet. anyway everything is fine except when i want to move an icon to the right page or anything that come close to the right edge of the screen.
i tried to use a drawer app to see what is the problem, it seems when i draw a line from left to right, the line stops just before it reach the right edge of the screen. now if i only draw a vertical line on the right edge, it will work. so i am not sure what is the issue when i swipe/draw a line / move an icon from left to the right edge.
i then tried the mutli touch test program, it detects my fingers on the edge of the screen however, i find it very point of the screen is jettry ? like it shakes as if its not detecting a single pixel and detecting the one beside it.
i duno do i have a dude or they are all like that

Try the touch screen fix if your device is rooted and you know the basics of tinkering!

Missing bluetooth icon?

I was poking around various notification settings and noticed that I lost my Bluetooth icon in the "second screen" or maybe it wasn't there to begin with? It's showing fine in the status bar after I pull down.
Maybe that's intentional to create space near the notch?

Actually, I should first confirm - are you guys seeing a bluetooth icon in the notch area to begin with?

Nope. They show it briefly and it goes away. It will show if you do the drop down. Much better imo.
There are certain notifications that don't stay in the top (Bluetooth and location are two that could mean to mind). You have to pay attention to the right side of the second screen...the icons fade to the right corner after they appear.
