Yes via PlayStation pocket/Android Market.

Hopefully they add in PSN so we can download our purchased PSOne classics. @neverwinter have you tried the free PSXperia app of the forums that allows us to rip our own PSX games for use with the built in emulator?
Also, did you get your name from Neverwinter Nights

lol you're the first to ask. Yeah, it's taken from Neverwinter Nights (Part 1). It's was a cool game...so is Part 2. But....I'm not sure I want to use the PSXperia app... not sure if it's illegal. Some people might hound me for that. Never really made up my mind about the ethics and legalities of game console emulators. But if I can buy the games, that would be great. The Tomb Raider games specifically... wow! If the PSOne games can be bought for Xperia Play, it could be one of the best smartphones out there... BTW, I've never had an Android device before. It's always be WinCE, Win Mobile or Windows Phone 7...

There is nothing illegal about PSXperia as long as you own the disk your using. @op all PSX games even the ones from the Playstation store are emulated.

Hmm...OK. Thanks. I thought I read somewhere that in order for emulation to work, it requires the ROM image from the console itself...and how that ROM image is extracted and distributed (or something like that) can be illegal... what do you think? Does anyone know if PSP games will be downloadable to Xperia Play as well??

The Xperia Play comes with said "console rom image" in the form of PS1_BIOS.bin on the devices internal memory.

Ohhh, OK. Thanks for the clearing up... will PSP games be available by download?

OK. Just bought the Xperia Play. I read that the memory card used should be microSD up to 32GB... does that mean any microSD card? Or is there a specific type I should avoid for compatibility?

Sandisk Class 4 32gb card is the way to go.
Anything else has had mixed to poor results. Don't get a no name card.

Thanks... is there a difference between 32GB microSDHc and microSD? I'm checking eBay...and does anyone have any good tips on avoiding memory card fakes on eBay? And does buying on eBay invalidate warranties for SanDisk microSD cards? This seems to be the case for some products out there...

the number one rule of memory cards is:
don't buy memory cards on ebay!
obviously im not referring to every ebay seller, tbh i would think it seemingly quite easy to pick good ones from fakes, however enough people get smashed by ebay sellers to make me think this perhaps isnt the case, and its just best avoided.

This guy has it dead on. Theres so many fakes on ebay its not even funny. Amazon is the way to go but even there can be fakes.
I got mine from this place, the "fulfilled by Amazon" is helpful. What i got from them was definitely real.

OK.... maybe someone here can offer me another seller (anywhere) that sells a real one for a good price. I'm currently looking into the particular Amazon one provided above, but I would hate to accidently buy fake one and realize that I can't send it in for warranty because it is fake...
One that they know for sure is real, that is...

I bought that exact one from that place it came in Sandisk retail store packaging, with warranty card, instructions, etc. I also have been using it for months now with no failures or loss in data size and noticeable speed increase over the stock class 2 card. I can guarantee you if you buy from the link I sent the card is genuine Sandisk product.
I've bought the no name ones and others here have bought ones from shady places as well. The card starts to blink out or not accept data, it won't stay mounted, and it runs slow and laggy. The other way to tell is to download any number of available SD card test programs to your PC and run a test on it. The tests will do things like fill the card to capacity to verify its size. Theres usually no way to tell by looking at it that its a fake.

OK. Thanks.. that sounds trusty...

I'm glad I finally got it. It's the white one. Now what do I do with it?? I'm kidding. I'm checking out the posts to find out what I should do with it...

You can always try using the Media Go on your PC/Mac and buy PSP Games, PSone Classics and stuff, not sure how they will work on the Play though, or if you can even transfer them to the play, havent tried it yet myself

Memorette has been around for a while. They made blank cassette and video tapes, and now also make blank dvds and cds.
I have Clear & Present Danger and The Rock recorded on a Memorette video tape. I don't have a VCR though..
Anyone else have any experience with the company and/or specifically their micro sd cards?

Do you still have it by chance? Did you try reformatting it other than FAT32? Did it read the total capacity correctly?
Thx yes i do NOT mean memorex, they are relatively speaking a name brand. The brand is Memorette, which im sure is some chinese stuff...considering buying them but want to make sure they are worth buying.

I always stick with high quality Panaphonic products. Or Sorny.
Yes, it's a well-known Korean manufacturer. The only question is: will you get original product of fake. I don't know how to see the difference when buying online.
Original Memorette cards should give you 11Mb/s write speed. Friend of mine bought this for $99 a time ago. You can find such cards for $45 on eBay but are they original...
Memorette 32GB
The 32GB MemorETTE cards can be purchased online for about $10 per card in quantities of 15.
How many people think that a $10 card with that capacity/Class 10 can actually exist in the year 2011?
I tend to think these are knock-offs.
Yeah at that price, what you are getting is most likely a 2 gb card that has been hacked to read 32gb. When you go to add your media or whatever, everything after 2gb is currupt and not really there since you ran out of space after the actual card size.

I have a 32 GB Sandisk class 10 in my EVO and it works badass.
Just FYI I bought this card off ebay and I have to say DO NOT BUY!! As it was mentioned some where else. it will write like 2 or so GB then all the rest of the data becomes corrupt. I am now currently in a depute about this card and all in order to get my Evo to be my end all MP3 player (which it already kinda was) with Google Music.

Hey, I bought this one as well, fake as it can be. I have also ongoing claim with Paypal regarding this. Looking at it afterwards it was too good to be true anyway.
I also had a bad experience with this product. I could put 32 gb worth of info on it but it would never read all of the info. I mostly used it for movies and I would put about 10-15 movies on it ( each movie about 1gb) but I would only be able to watch the first couple of movies once I put the card in my tablet. My computer and tablet would show that it had 32gb on it so I just though it was my device and not the card. I think I am screwed because I bought it 3 months ago. What Ebay seller did you Buy it from. Maybe if we all bought it from the same person then Paypal will allow me to open a case.

I just thought that My G-Tablet wasn't reading the card correctl or the format of the movies wasn't working so I kind of gave up. I should have done a search to see if others were having problems.
I have one of these - 32gb memorette sdhc. Does not work well in my HTC Sensation. pictures start disappearing, video doesn't play back, carded apps begin to fail.
Now here's the odd bit - seems to work fine in Lumix G2 camera. Pics, video all stay just fine. Even when i put this in my phone after - the lumix G2 pics stayed on the chip and could be viewed on the phone fine but anything taken on the andriod phone started to become corrupt after a hour or so.
Can anyone else do this test??
***** I now think this is because the camera does add extra data so its not going over the 2gig which these cards are most likely to be. Got refunded anyway *****

Ok from what Ive seen, the camera and camcorder no longer tells you how many pictures/video time is remaining. Is that atleast correct?

I ordered two and have used these befofe the sdxc system in the micro sd cards seem to be read as sdhc so that these phones can support it. On an evo even it reads perfectly fine. On the ET4G I havent checked the camera information but it does transfer at 30mb/s (read/write fluctuate between 15-20mb on actual transfer and write is just a bit higher).

ordered.. thanks!
I have been using the 64gb sdxc card for about a month now. It works great!
When I first installed it my phone did not recognize it. Easy fix....
1.menu
2.Settings
3.Storage
4.Unmount SD card
5.Format SD card
The only minor issue I have had is "media scan" can sometimes take a little long if I have too much media saved on the SD card. I usually just place a period in front of large folders that contain movies and private photos. This will hide the contents of the folder from the "media scan".Then I just access them with ES file explorer. The media scan never takes anymore than a couple seconds and its NOT really an issue.
Also for some strange reason Windows will not recognize the card when plugged in to the computer directly but My Mac will. When transferring files from Windows I just use the USB cord and transfer via mass storage or MTP Application.
BUY IT NOW!!! You will not regret it.
I forward this to a few techy friends, we always share deals. One of them stated that this site is known for selling counterfeit SD cards...any truth to that? I would hate to dish out this type of money for a fake card.

Don't know if it's widespread or isolated incidents.
http://photo.net/digital-camera-forum/00LQNF
The above is from 2007 though, so I don't know if it's relative to today.
After extensive Googling, I have come to this conclusion:
There are hardly any incidents about fake SanDisk cards from Adorama.
There is the one incident above, which may have stuck in peoples minds over the years, but is not indicative of a widespread problem.
Most of all that I read about Adorama is positive, or neutral.
Adorama is in NYC, and is in direct competition with B&H Photo, another reputable Dealer to buy electronics from, so I don't think either wants to blow it, so to speak.
The above is just my opinion, but if Adorama had issues with widespread SanDisk problems, I likely would have found it.
Out of the 2 stores above, I usually shop at B&H Photo, whether in store or online. No particular reason other than I went to B&H Photo years ago, and have continued to go there if the price is right. I've been to Adorama once also, and had no issues. I actually purchased recently a SanDisk 16GB Class 6 card from B&H Photo, but purchased the Samsung 32GB Class 10 card a couple of weeks afterwards from another Dealer.
Adorama advertises a lot on 660 AM WFAN sports radio. Pretty big name. I'd be surprised if they wouldn't work with someone who received a bad or fake card.
Found this video with the card being used HERE

Samsung Micro SD cards #BEWARE OF FAKES#

Hello everybody,
I have read and learned many useful things on this site, so thought I'd share my experience in the hope you would not have to go through the same thing.
I initially brought a Samsung class 10 mSD card from ebay for £19.99 delivered. It came with only the plastic case and no other external packaging. Immediately I tested it and noticed the poor transfer rates. of approx. 16kb/s read, 5kb/s write.
At this point I was suspicious that the card was a fake.
I ran numerous tests on several diagnostic programs and its was the same.
I wanted to be sure before making my complaint to ebay, so I brought another one, this time from Amazon.
The one from Amazon appears identical from the front of the card, but on the back it was different. See photo [The one on the left = genuine]
I then ran diagnostics on them side-by-side, tested both card with pretty much the same data, and my initial suspicions were confirmed. The ebay one was fake. [The one on the left = genuine]
I have read on here and seen some other members posting benchmark data on Sandisk and Samsung mSD cards [with similar slow speeds] brought from ebay traders.
If your card turns out to be slower, then there's a good chance it could be a fake. I recommend you contact ebay stating your item is not as described and request a full refund. This is exactly what I did.
I hope this information helps as many people as possible.
There's nothing worst than being conned, apart from the feeling of being cheated.
I just bought one from Amazon
well to be precise I bought a 32GB Samsung card from an Amazon trader as Amazon UK dont sell them direct at all. It came in what appeared to be samsung packaging and could not be detected from the original by the human eye.
I am of course suspicious about the price but then also aware that most phone manufacturers vastly over price "official" merchandise. (my £2.50 phone bumper fits and does the job just as well as the Sammy one) Unfortunately I dont have a reader for my computer so can only test it in the phone and am currently converting/uploading some videos through the USB cable which is of course a slow process. It reports as being about 29GB which would be expected but it seems there is software than can fake this. I am therfore fully expecting it to fail when it goes over about 2GB or when I try to play back the movie files - will wait and see.
However my question really is this - for most users additional storage is a luxury rather than necessety and I am not really too worried about the "class" of the card as I dont intend to store anything important on it, just extra music and videos for long trips. Would it therefore be more sensible to purchase a generic 32 GB class 4 card from a reputable dealer for about £20-£25 rather than go for a discounted Samsung one? It seems far less likely to me that people would push fake unbranded cards as there is less profit to be made. £50 - £60 is too much to pay for somehing that I dont really need - and anyway how could I be sure that a £60 was any more genuine - do I trust the likes of Play.com?
If I do find this one is fake I am considering reporting it through trading standards because giving these rogue traders (and there are thousands of them) the cop out of simply refunding the money is doing nothing to stop this illegal trading
This is exactly why I don't start penny pinching on memory cards for my main devices, because for a few £s extra I can get from Amazon or Play.com and know it usually is real, or if fake can get an easy refund.
I never buy from sellers, always by from Amazon or Play direct because I know they don't sell fakes.
but that really is not the question

I also know I can get a refund through an amazon reseller however my point is this. £60 odd is a vastly inflated price for just 32GB when the stuff being stored is neither critical, irreplacable or in all honesty more than just an added convenience. Which is why I really asked if an unbranded 32 GB class 4 which rarely sell anywhere for more than £25 is a better solution than a branded one heavily discounted.
This said the card I have reports the correct size and i have so far transferred about 12 GB of video and music content and it sitll reports 17GB. The only noticable problem with playback is with a couple of files which I let windows copy convert! Have since found that the s3 happily plays a 1gb avi file without conversion and the copy rate via the usb cable is about what I expect.
What worried me was that Moborobo didnt seem to want to copy to the card always, however the connection to Moborobo is always a bit erratic and often takes about three attempts to connect at all (pity becaue it otherwise is an excellent programme)
I think I shall just continue to fill up the card with AVI files and monitor it over the next week if it doesnt drop any and continues to play them OK then I think I will assume that I did actually get a 32GB card (whether the branding is fake or not isnt really a big issue for me and I can afford to replace this twice more for the cost of a genuine card)
---------- Post added at 03:41 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:34 PM ----------
I just checked with one video file and it took 1min 15sec to transfer a 900MB file from my computer to the card in the S3 using usb cable, which sounds reasonable to me.
When i buy mine i'm going to try to make sure to make sure it is through a legit retailer
buying on amazon.com doesn't promise you anything, its the SELLER that matters
which is why im going to try to make sure i'm actually buying it FROM amazon, not ON amazon
the damn samsung from amazon went up over 41 bucks
I might just buy the sandisk model for 33ish

You can get a class 10 Sandisk 32gb uhs-i card for £23 from Play.com and most people see these mobile ultra cards as one of the best cards you can buy for a phone because of decent
transfer speeds and faster to access small files, and they only cost a tiny bit more than some of the unbranded crap some places sell, so you shouldn't just blindly settle because it's the cheapest and has a high class rating.
gbswales said:

Although nothing is guaranteed, and the fact that there are many traders selling via Amazon, Amazon themselves do sell these mSD cards, or at least the one I brought was "Sold by: Amazon EU S.a.r.L. "
As others have confirmed, with a reputable seller, its less likely to be fake, but even if there is a mistake somewhere along the way, a refund is less difficult to obtain.

However my question really is this - for most users additional storage is a luxury rather than necessety and I am not really too worried about the "class" of the card as I dont intend to store anything important on it, just extra music and videos for long trips.
Class determines speed of data transfer, not quality.
£50 or £60 damn, you must be shopping at the wrong places.
Amazon does a Sandisk 32GB, class 10 for £25 delivered to your door.
If I do find this one is fake I am considering reporting it through trading standards because giving these rogue traders (and there are thousands of them) the cop out of simply refunding the money is doing nothing to stop this illegal trading

Agree, the rotten apples should be reported so that they are stopped before they spoil the market and more people are cheated.

This is exactly why I don't start penny pinching on memory cards for my main devices, because for a few £s extra I can get from Amazon or Play.com and know it usually is real, or if fake can get an easy refund.

Totally agree with you.
Until now, I have always had a positive experience on ebay. ie]
ebay offers the best service and value, when it comes to accessories such as phone cases, cables, car chargers, mounts.... all sent from Hong Kong/China....but with certain things like memory, PC components and so on.. its best not to chance it.

It depends, Amazon sells a huge range of items by working with other businesses to deliver an all under one site e-shopping experience.

To save yourself some time next time. Call the company and give them the serial number printed on the card and ask them if it's on the system.
This might not work though as the fake manufacturer might have printed the same one on all of them. But if another person reported it or the specs don't match or Samsung doesn't have the serial number in their system then you know you got a fake.

ok yes i know amazon has a policy like that, so does ebay but its still possible and has happened numerous times to people if you read the reviews
I just ordered my sd card today after I seen this thread...hope I get a legit card. I got it from here:

How do you test them using CystalDiscInfo? Can you test it when it is in the phone?
sold by amazon ..... or not
Well I have looked through the Amazon UK store and cannot find any 32GB micro SD cards that are actually sold by Amazon. There are many that look as if they are but if you read the small print it says "fullfilled by Amazon". You are not buying from Amazon "fullfilled by" means only that a third party supplier is using the amazon warehouse to store their stock, amazon pick and despatch but your legal contract is with the third party store and not Amazon.
The one I purchased was from a trade called Samsung 3D store UK (this forum wont let me post a link because I am a new member )
It looks genuine and it shows up on the phone as 29.23GB - I have loaded a lot of films and music which all plays ok and in settings it shows 14GB still free. My initial concern was that Moborobo file manager didnt always upload to it (but then that nice programme is still a bit flakey) I uploaded everything direct from windows through the USB cable without any conversion.
Hopefully I have a good (genuine or not) one
lol its common sense. u bought it from ebay + it was cheap....

No, you've gotta use Crystaldiskmark via a card reader on laptop or pc.

Check transfer speeds with Crystaldiskmark, or when transferring files using explorer.

I hope you get a good one too, so far things sound good, but the only way to find out is to test it or use CDM.
You must manually refresh your list on moboplayer and it'll find all your videos.

I beg to differ, ebay have on the most part been good, its only a handful of dodgy dealers that ruin the experience. Plus things on ebay are not necessarily cheaper. 32GB card I brought from both ebay and Amazon were both same price @ £19.99.
Sometimes its not even the seller that are dodgy, but the fact that they too got duped by a dodgy supplier selling fakes.
2 days in...
Update.
So up until I received my genuine card from amazon I was using the fake card for like 4 days...its now two days with the genuine card and I can report that there is a noticeable difference in speed.
The real world usage difference between 16r/6w vs. 20r/11w is quite noticeable.
The reason being, that for the most part you will be writing to the card, or at least that's when you'll notice the speed most. 6mb/s vs 11 mb/s
Even used during transfer via USB the difference is noticeable.
FYI, you will need a card that writes at the speed of at least least 6mb/s [Class 6] if you want to record 1080p HD videos to ExtSD.
Useful background info:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital
Currently the best deal I found on an mSD card.
Hi guys,
64GB Sandisk class 10 mSD for just under £45 delivered.
If you can wait or are planning to get one for use after 04/07 I'd recommend this.
:good:
http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/...ard-Class-10-with-Adapter/ListingDetails.html
I initially thought 32GB would be more than enough space, but a week on and I kinda wished that I'd brought the 64GB.
The reason for this.
- 2 hours Video Recording = 16GB
- my music alone already takes up 5GB [most are on 320kb/s quality]
- one way to truly appreciate the screen quality on the S3 is by using MKV video files which are like 800-1000MB for 25 mins, and a typical full length movie is approx 4GB.
64GB uses exfat file system and is sdxc spec which is fastest you can get on an SD card. Sandisk is one of the best names out there for SD card technology.
Who knows, I may just end up getting a 64GB card also
Let me know what you guys think?

Hi I ordered a 32Gb Sandisk direct from Amazon yesterday although looks to be out of stock now, not a reseller btw. http://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-32G...KLEK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1340572521&sr=8-1 Click on 6new under main info and you can buy from Amazon instead of a potential dodgy reseller. Was £22.50 when I bought mine although only had a few left when I ordered.

Looking for a 64GB class 10 MicroSD card

Hi,
I have a 32GB class 10 and want to upgrade to 64..
I tried to search in ebay on my own but found so many different prices (ahm fakes ahm).. that I'm afraid to do it on my own..
I was struggling with these fake cards 2 years ago when I was looking for a 32GB.. I don't wanna fall again..
Could you please help me find a fair decent honest seller on eBay that sells a 64GB class 10 MicroSD card for mobile (Xperia Z)?
I don't care for brand.. as long as its known one like Samsung/Sandisk.. and not some chinese 1 day old company...
I don't block the price as for I don't really know how much it really costs..
I saw some 20$ cards and also a 100$ cards.. I don't want to empty my wallet for a golden master superhero sd card.. but also willing to invest to get a life-time memory card that won't die after a week..
Your help will be much appreciated !

I will use a micro-SD in my Sony Xperia Tipo Dual. As far as I understood will I have to make a partition for android.
Which maximum size android is able to deal with?
Can I make more than one android-partition for the mobile? One for apps one for extra RAM?
Which formatting is best? Fat32?
Would it be better to use a smaler SD than 64 or 32 GB?
Please recomend me a very fast micro-SD.

I used buy one in a Chinese online store, name"aurabuy", maybe you can have a try
I'd really prefer better a quality; known by public; guarenteed one rather than trying my luck with some chinese one..
Could any one please point out some? share your experience and knowledge..
What might seems too basic info for you might be my biggest helpful tip..
Amazon.com
Amazon has all the name brands at great prices. You won't have to worry about it.

FAKE Samsung PRO 64 GB MicroSD SCAM ! WARNING!

Hi guys. It looks like every geek user has to be microsd scammed on his life... and yes, it happened to me!
I've bought a MicroSD card on eBay from an ITALIAN SELLER with LOTS of feedback points... it was listed as Samsung PRO Micro SD 64 GB.
Well...it was a fake! It's a 8 GB card modified to appear as 64 GB to the system.
I tested it with H2testw ...
This time the fake was EPIC. The retail package was REALLY similar to the genuine one (Look the attached photo!)
The only differences where in some graphic details!
I've made a video to warn users about this card and help to spot FAKE cards:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAiqv_QE7NY
Please share it and be careful !!!!! Obviously I had my money back and I reported the user to ebay.

Who buys a Samsung PRO card, is for taking photos or videos....store big files...
Well: imagine that you put this card on your phone and go on vacantion....you shoot photos and.....nothing!
The photos are all lost!
55 GB are FAKE... 8 GB real... it's PURE CRAP !!!
The eBay seller where I bought it, has sold other 7 cards.....and now is selling A-Data cards (maybe fake too)......
Just look on eBay and you'll find lots of Samsung Pro fakes... :crying:
Thanks for the heads up!!! As a matter of fact, I remember reading in head-fi forum people were complaining about problems with Samsung 64GB card, wonder if it's related to the same thing...

I don't know: the Samsung PRO scam is really new... They used to scam with the Samsung ESSENTIAL series and Sandisk cards.
Samsung has to do something... like some kind of logo/sticker impossible to clone, to certify the genuine product...
