I want to sell my Desire but not sure where to sell. Ebay is pretty much a no go. I can't see a BST section on XDA so i guess they don't support it? I was hoping to get £250 but not sure it will fetch that much? So i'm stuck for a price too lol.
Why not eBay? There is a marketplace section on here but don't know what sort of response you'll get...I'd say £300 if in good nick, or try Gumtree??
It's got some dings on the corners where i have dropped it. The screen is perfect though. I'd go as low as £200 just need to decide on somewhere...Ebay is a no go due to fees and stuff.

I don't know what the prices are for a Desire overthere in the UK, but here in the Netherlands you can get a new one for €390, around 330 pounds. With no contract or whatsoever. So I think 300 pounds is a 'bit' too high.
I agree i'm not a greedy man I'd be happy with 210-200.
Fair enuff, that's a fair price

Did a quick search on the shops I buy stuff, everywhere I looked they seem to be out of stock.
Well i'm just about giving up on the idea of selling it. Even for £200 nobody seems interested...i blame the Z and HD!
Last time I checked you could get 167 quid for it on money4urmobile.com. but that was a couple of weeks ago. Just as the dhd was released they were offering 201 for it but it soon dropped.

With support for the Wildfire S being dropped by AlphaRevX, it looks like the only way to achieve S-OFF is using an XTC clip. For me, it's a bit too expensive to justify buying a clip and using it only once. This thread is for anyone that's interested in pooling together and purchasing the regular XTC Clip that could be shared and then resold. Post below if you are interested and want your name and country added to the list at the bottom.
UK (run by mphi)
The process:
I ordered the clip, and posted it off to the first participant who will post it back to me once finished so that I can post it to the next participant and so on. Everything is done through eBay reputation so that all participants have some protection. I'll set up a fixed price listing with payments through PayPal. eBay buyer requirements: At least 10 positive feedback comments, with 95%+ positive.
Instructions:
l00k said:
Step A) Create a goldcard with unlock feature
1. insert MicroSD/TFlash card in your XTC-Clip
2. click "Create Goldcard"
Step B) Unlock phone - (simlock, SuperCID, security unlock / S-OFF)

2. insert the goldcard from step A) in HTC Marvel
3. attach battery to HTC Marvel
4. attach battery or usb cable to XTC-Clip
5. press [VOL DOWN] + [POWER] to start bootloader
6. wait approx. 1 minute and 30 seconds for unlock software to start
7. You will get "Get OEMSBL /Pls chk SECU-Flag on/off" Error
8. Press Vol Down now.
9. Wait approx. 30 sec while it shows Get SW Version
10. Select Diag by pressing power
11. press [ACTION] to start "Clear S58 Data"
12. press [POWER] to confirm
13. wait 10 seconds and phone will S-OFF

I'm thinking I'll order the clip and post it off to the next person, who would post it to the next person after use and so on. When everyone is done with the clip we can attempt to sell it on eBay it and then split the proceeds evenly. It could work out to be quite cheap if enough people are interested.
We'd also have to set some rules to ensure the trustworthiness of the participants (and me) and I was thinking that everything could be done through eBay so that all participants have some protection.
I'm in the UK but don't mind posting to the EU if there are not enough interested people in the UK and everyone else agrees to this.
What do you think?

Have you considered XTC Clip Pay as you go?
I can let you have one of these for £20, this includes 1 unlock credit.
Each top up credit would be £15
I hope this helps, let me know if your interested

Official XTC Clip Reseller
Hi Darren,
That's a great offer; thanks! I've seen your eBay auctions and the £97.99 price I quoted in the original post is from one of your listings
Though I can't speak for everyone else, I'm a real cheapskate. And buying the non-PAYG clip and sharing it works out much cheaper in the long run:
Revenue from selling used clip @ £10 discount = £87.99 - 0.034*87.99 - £0.20 (Paypal fees) - £0.40 - £1.57 - 0.03*87.99 (eBay fees) = £80.18
Initial cost each = £97.99/5 = £19.60
Estimated actual cost each = (97.99 - 80.18)/5 = £3.57 + postage
(Refund after eBay sale of £16.03 each)
Would you ever consider an XTC Clip rental service? Say £7.50 + £80 collateral (to be refunded after the clip is received back)? PayPal reduces its fees proportionally after partial refunds and I think it would sell quite well...
Hi,
I am in Licolnshire in the UK and would be willing to sign up for this too, provided that it is cheap enough of course!

And how is this going to work? Send it from addy to addy and then back to you, or send the phones to you? The second is a much more efficient way of dealing with it, but now sure if I can live without my phone either, lol!

Yep my intention was that it was to be sent from address to address. If people wanted to send phones to me to be unlocked, I would insist on sending the phones back via an insured courier so it would work out more expensive.
If you trust me enough and don't mind spending a bit more to cover the postage, I'm happy to do this as well.

I can't be without my phone tbh... Use it for my internet n stuff, it's just it "could" take a long time. I have waited a couple months now and a couple more won't hurt. see now this could be the start of a great movement for our forum here. someone buys the xtc clip, uses it, sends to to the next person, they use it, they send it to the next person in line....see what im getting at here? all you have to do is pay for shipping and the credit.
Of course all it would take is one Dbag to mess the whole thing up.
But it would definently be one hell of a community movement. The whole inc2 community helping each other out to have everyone on root.
who knows.....its a damn fine idea though.

Hi guys, I'm selling my lapdock for the Atrix. I bought it brand new during launch day at around $300 when bundled with phone. The lapdock is in perfect condition - Never dropped, scratched or put any kinds of drinks near it.
To be honest i've only used my Lapdock for a total of around 40 hours, i was working on a Windows Conversion for the dock but since I'm a Game Designer and I'm starting to get real serious with a project, i need to let go of it and get a real Laptop...i really like this lapdock its very light and very useful (especially after what Sogarth did with his mods).
I currently see onit priced Amazon, Ebay, and a few other sites that sell it for $200 as the lowest. I'm trying to sell it for $200 if possible.
Shipping to 94607?
Sure, that's not too far.
If you both can't make a deal, i am interested to buy this as well. However would you ship internationally ?

Someone created a thread to sell a laptop he bought new and has used. People that are viewing the thread see someone else point them towards a refurbished unit from AT&T, as though to suggest it's better to go there than buy from the person who created the thread. AT&T refurbished units are a crapshot, you don't know what the previous issue was. They have no bearing on the OP's thread and is a full-on c*$kblock, if you will.
Tried PM'ing a couple of times but aint working! Will give 200 providing shipping to Melbourne Australia is not too expensive. PM me if you can
why the mods havent come in yet i dont know but this isnt the buy&sell section
OSNPA, are you suggesting that it would be better to keep an unwitting Atrix user in the dark, letting him or her purchase a used lapdock for around $35 more than the cost of an "officially" used lapdock, just so the seller will not be offended?
It's called market competition. An informed consumer living in the U. S. with the opportunity to purchase a refurbished dock from ATT would never pay more and wait longer for one unless he or she were doing the seller a favor.
To put it simply, if the seller intends to sell this dock to an ATT customer, he or she will have to lower the price or take advantage of someone's ignorance. In my opinion, it would be bad form to keep a consumer in the dark and just sit back and snicker as you watch a transaction (or in this case, a rip off) transpire. But hey, at least the seller didn't get his feelings hurt AND he made more than what he should have.
Fortunately for the seller, not everyone has access to a refurbished lapdock, specifically our friends overseas, and $200 is quite a bargain in that market. I think everyone has a chance to win in this situation, and to me, it seems like bad form to try and prevent this ideal scenario -- one in which no one feels cheated.
I don't mean to attack you, OSNPA, but I'm trying to understand what you have to gain by trying to foster a market on these forums in which the lapdock is kept at an artificially high price. Are you trying to sell one yourself? Anything to help me understand where you're coming from would be much appreciated.
To the seller, I think you will have no problem selling the dock for $200. (I would not have started so low.)
To anyone who does not have access to a refurbished lapdock, this price is almost impossible to beat.

That's actually not true. Refurbished is anything that has been brought back to factory specifications and tested to be working. Yes, some of these are broken units that have been repaired, but MANY others are just returned within the 30-day return period, especially for a once $400+ item like the lapdock. Mine also looks like its from the assembly line. More knowledge here: http://www.att.com/shop/wireless/devices/buy-refurbished-phones.jsp
I'm sure yours looks great though so happy selling!

Well, if customers are uninformed on the price of refurbished lapdocks when there's a thread dedicated to it in this very sub-forum, well I have no pity for them. It's a consumer's responsibility to educate themselves. He's not selling a refubished unit, it is not the same situation, so the prices should have no bearing on what the OP asks. Regardless of whether money is involved, think of it this way: a developer releases a ROM and the 1st response to that thread is another developer saying that he also released a ROM and go to this other thread to read all about it. You may like that idea, I don't know, to me it's a wtf moment.

Disclaimers: I don't know anyone in this thread, I am not selling or buying a lapdock, no animals were harmed in the making of this post, and I am not responsible for you bricking your phone. And search does not always mean "search", more like scour or seek. If you read the general forums for this device for 5 minutes you would see that its not unlockable. Even searching google would show you this. Its not a big deal, just look around next time
Depending on how much getting an unlocked bootloader is worth to you, you might want to read this thread - Verizon HTC One General - Purchased a JavaCard for S-OFF.
Among the many things you can do with S-Off you can use the Super CID tool, which allows you to enter working information into the htcdev site, you will not get the error code when trying to your identifier token.
What is being offered is for Sonic2756 to use a HTC developer tool called a javacard to get S-Off for the Verizon HTC One and a number of other HTC devices.
I personally think this is a great deal, less then $50 after all the shipping/insurance expenses get added in, for someone to use an official htc method to get s-off. Even though the chances are good that someone will find an exploit to achieve s-off, the chances are also good that an exploit like that will take a while to develop and those exploits could run the risk of breaking your phone and giving you a fancy paper weight. I believe using a HTC developer method of achieving S-Off to be the safest way to go, provided you dont cut corners with packaging your phone and ship with insurance for it.
Chill out on the guy, he probably just got into Android and wanted to mod his phone. We don't want people thinking we're jerks and have them go back to the iPhone do we?
In his defense, there are like 8 different HTC One variants, it's horrendous. This is just the HTC One, without any letters after it. It's the M7 model from HTC. HTC6500LVW is the official model/SKU number from Verizon.
@armpit101 - Like everyone else already said, it's currently not unlockable unless you purchase an S-Off procedure from a member called Sonic on here. It's $30 but you also have to pay for shipping both ways. So likely around $60 total if you tack on insurance, which is highly recommended for a $650 phone.
The link for that is in the above post courtesy of Wozzie.

I just thought I would update this thread with current prices, Sonic has been reduced his price from $30 to $20, this does not include the addition charge of return shipping, which gets included in the transaction, the only thing that does not get charged in what you buy from his website is the cost of getting the phone to him.

So we pay to send the phone out to him, but the $20 covers S-Off and return shipping?

Ok so we are still paying the same way as before, except now it's about ~$50 total.

Is $50 too much to pay for S-OFF? I don't think so. You can always go cheap and not pay for insurance. Cost $5.80 to ship with no insurance. He has a ship back option with no insurance.

lol I was just stating the costs. I'm not interested in doing it since I'm already unlocked.

The cost is this
it was $30 for the S-OFF
Sonic kindly lowered it $10 because he is a great guy.
so,
for $20 + $15 = $35
you Get
you phone S-OFF and sent back to you with $600 of insurance.
the other fee comes from how you decide to ship, I suggest the same way Sonic is sending it
it costs about $8.55 for $600 worth of insurance with USPS you'll end up most likely paying around $14-$16.
IMO for insurance shipped both way for $50 it's 100% worth it, I just need to find the time to send it out, keep saying I am but something keeps coming up.
work, life. bahh, but
from my estimations he should still have about 100 credits left at least (I hope)
and I am already htc dev unlocked so I don't feel the need to get S-OFF before those without root, also.

I know, I never said otherwise
Just stating exactly what is the full process for those reading this thread.
