let me start off by saying that i used an incipio feather when i owned an iphone4 for a few months. i loved it and that's why i decided to get one for the nexus even though i had read a few comments from owners saying they didnt like the "fit"
i think pictures can show my complaints the best so i'll start with those (ignore the bad screen protector install. i'll be doing it again once i find a case i like)

as you can see from pictures 1-3, the fit in the corners is TERRIBLE. it looks even worse in person than it does in the pictures. when i put it on, i had to look at the packing to make sure that the case sent to me was in fact for the galaxy nexus. i am absolutely shocked that the fitting as as poor as it is. the case for the iphone i had was perfect. granted the iphone is basically a square so it's much easier but that's no excuse for incipio to release a half assed case.
the last picture is more of a design flaw rather than a fit issue. as you can see the power button is very close to the edge of the case (i use the standard battery). this makes hitting the power button very difficult. this isn't incipio's fault as thats just how the phone is designed. what is their fault is that they made the hole for the power button so big. when you go to push it, you thumb will naturally go to where the phone bends into the back. if incipio had just made the opening smaller, your thumb would naturally hit the power button rather than the side/back of the phone.
last complaint is once again regarding the "fit of the case. with the case one the phone, there 'should' be a very very slight lip on the top. this is obvious on the right side of the phone. however, on the left side my phone sticks up farther than the case. if i push down on the bottom left of the phone, it will recess into the case, giving it a protective lip. the problem is that the fit is so poor that after a few seconds it phone comes back to its raised position.
so there you go, thats my quick review of the incipio feather for the galaxy nexus. hopefully this helps someone out. it was a disappointment to say the least
that looks pretty bad, I am disappointed as I was going to get one too.
Many thanks for the post
Are you using a extended battery on the CDMA GN?
Nope. Standard battery on cdma nexus

I wish Samsung would have kept the gsm and lte versions with the same design dimensions but it is what it is. This case looks pretty bad.
I think you got a faulty case....I have the same one and it fits perfectly...its snug and there is a perfect lip on both sides...the power button is not hard to press. Are you seriousing me?

They can't... the LTE radio in there is bigger than the GSM, therefore it had to be slightly bigger/heavier.
i have the same case and it's fine on mine, too. i also find it easier to press the power button.

Wow...that case looks like ass. Such a disappointment. I really looked forward to getting it as I love my iPhone 4s case ;(
glad to hear others did not have any issues. not sure yet if im going to ask for a refund or an exchange.

Look (5/10): I was pretty upset when the case ended up being a much lighter color than it appeared to be in the eBay picture. I was hoping for a dark grey/black look, but it ended up being a bright silver.
Feel (7/10): I generally like the feel of the case. It has a soft rubberized texture, but it's not too grippy. Still slides in and out of pockets nicely. The part I didn't like is the edges where the two parts of the case come together are a bit sharp. Now, it's nothing serious, I'd just like a smoother one piece feel. Does not restrict access to any of the buttons or virtual keyboard. The phone obviously has a thicker feel to it, but it's not terrible. Just feels like a phone in a case. Actually feels a little better to me since I have larger hands.
Fit (7/10): I was able to get all sides of the case to snap securely into place. Have to use a penny to get it to pop apart. Lines up pretty good, no gaps.
Price (10/10): At $8 shipped, I can't complain.
Overall (7/10): For the price I paid it's a decent quality case. There is an all black rubberized variant that I would choose over this one since I wasn't too pleased with the color.
Link to full image gallery. Sorry about the image quality. I don't have very good lighting in my room and I didn't want to drown out the pictures with flash.
Thanks for the review, I bought 2 black cases like this from ebay, have yet to receive the second one but the first one has one side that won't snap on. The seller agreed to take it back and replace it.
Thanks for the review. I think I'm going to be returning my $23 Samsung OEM one for the $8 black one.
Be warned, they are kinda tricky to get off. Make sure to take it easy so you don't damage your phone. I almost did haha.
One more word of warning when using these types of cases, the notification bar can be hard to access if you have big fingers. I sometimes have trouble using my thumb to adjust the brightness or pull the notification bar down and have to use the tip of my pointer finger. Just thought I'd throw it out there. Doesn't stop me from being happy with the case though.

I had that problem with the hard buttons (the bottom four buttons) on the OEM case though. Plus when I took this phone out it's so sexy THIN that I don't know if I want to stick it back in a case...

Yeah, I'm struggling with the same thing. I've got the Body Glove case on order. Hopefully that will satisfy my needs for sexiness and security.
I picked up the Case-Mate Tough and wanted to put in a short review.
The case is great. It is built really well and is definetly an upgrade or equal to other available cases. FYI, I own the Seidio Innocase II and Rugged models.
Innocase II was great for 2 weeks and then stretched out and became unusable
Rugged was an upgrade but too bulky
The Case-Mate fits 95% perfectly. I'm OCD and rarely notice seams between the shell and the skin - if there were any noticeable fit problems I would toss the case. I give it a 95% because the volume buttons are hard to press. The power button has actually become easier to press with the rubber button.
The only downside I can think on this case is it adds more bulk than a one-piece case and the shell is a little too tacky and makes the phone hard to get out of my pocket sometimes.
I realize this is the most poorly written review ever, but I wanted to get it out there in case anyone is looking at the Case-mate. I have probably had this case longer than anyone that doesn't work at Case-Mate and it definitely looks like a reliable and well built keeper.

Indeed we can see the website pictures, but people like to see the realistic pictures of how it arrived when you reviewed it. kind of like how McDonald's shows pictures of perfect hamburgers on their menu but when you get it, it looks like a turd between two over-cooked pieces of bread.

LOL, I have a question, is the back a soft gel type or like a TPU?
I got one of these Tough Cases for my wife's iPhone 4 and she loves it. While this case is different then the iPhone 4 case its the best one I've seen to date (we have about 60 Evo's here and just about every case is being used by someone).
Yes it does add a bit of bulk but it's nothing you don't get used to right away. It's nice b/c it makes the camera lens recessed so no issues laying it flat on its back. It's a two piece deal where you put on the soft jelly like cover on first then the hard (it's not a metal type of hard so keep that in mind) cover goes on in the back. The hard cover does not offer complete protection of the top and bottom (just the corners).
The case feels very solid and it is not slippery you feel like you have a good grip without it being "clingy" to other materials. It's very easy to get on an off and the only thing you need to be mindful of is the volume up/down button. If you don't take some care it can get pinched into the slot in the hard case part.
One complaint I have about most cases is that they still allow way too much dust and crap to get into the case at the point of contact areas. This case does still allow some to get in but I'm very impressed b/c of all the cases I've compared this to it keeps the most dust/grime out (a GREAT way to see this is to put phones with different cases in a womens purse for a month! this should be a standard test).
Anyway I've very happy with the case and I'm seeing a slow but steady attrition from users of other cases going out and buying these.
Still a great case
Reason I pointed to the case-mate site for pics is because they really do have good pics/video of the case.
Unlike McDonalds, you are getting exactly what you see in the pics. The case design is well thought out and the fit is perfect. Other than a little bit of difficulty in pressing the volume buttons there are no problems in design. Access to ports is good, stand is easy to get to and balances well, and the power button is much easier to press. To be honest, the only time I have difficulty with the volume buttons is when I am in recovery mode and need to click around a lot.
PS- Its nice that they include a screen protector, but I don't think that it should effect your purchase. In my experience you need to have a couple of static protectors available if you want a good chance at a successful install. It is just too easy to mess up the install with a dust particle or something and only including one in the package is kinda asking for disgruntled customers.

Good trade!
So I got this from Amazon seller LowerPriceUSA.
Total....under $6 shipped
Overall really nice feel for the little amount I paid. The clear back is hard shell...while the sides are softer TPU material.
Button are easy to push without much effort. All ports aligned very well. The charger port plug works nicely without any issues.
The case has a slight "ridge" that protects the screen from touching the surface if you flip it over face down.
Barely adds any bulk...still sleek and slim...gives a nice non-slip grip too.
I would recommended this case to anyone for a inexpensive alternative. I know I'll be getting a different style case later on for Christmas too...so I'll let you know how that one goes.
Here are some crappy pics from my older iPhone 3GS

looks good
i'd have gone with a blue, or red, or yellow, or orange, or purple version
I have the purple one & while it LOOKS good, power button operation sucks. It's hard to find by feel & even then you have to press hard.
Mine take very little effort to find or push. I'm digging it so far.

Same problem with me, bought the red one, looked really good on but the power button was a pain in the butt to try and push. And way too hard to "find". Thought I would get used to it but ended up taking it off after a week or two.

This case was reviewed when the phone was 1st released.........
People with problems pressing the buttons, get an exacto and cut on both side of the buttons so it depresses easier.
I've been using this case since Day 3 of owning the T989, and I can say it has served me well, and as hard as I've tried to overlook the difficulty of locating the buttons (friends can never find them) and actually pressing them, I've decided to switch to a Diztronic case that should be coming in any day now
Have you guys used this case with a screen protector? Does it pull it up at all?
I am thinking about getting this case:

Which looks like yours but seems to have the cutouts for power/volume buttons.

Does not have cutouts...trust me. And, yes, it does push up.
Has anyone devised a way to make the battery cover more grippy? I can't use a case because of the Touchstone mod I did, but I also don't want the back of the phone to look terrible.
Looking for ideas, anyone have some?
Sorry but unrelated really but what is a touchstone mod?
I got a 2000Mah battery this morning with a different cover and the phone feels much better in my hand. I totally get what you are saying about it being hard to grip.
I took the inductive charging coil off the back cover of an old Palm Pre and stuck it to the battery cover of the Galaxy Nexus. A little copper tape connects to the inside of the pogo pins. There's a nice guide here on XDA somewhere.
A case can't be used because the air gap would be too much for the coils, phone wouldn't charge at all.
I have a carbon fiber skin from a company called XGear and its great. I don't like making the phone any bigger with a case and wanted to give it a better feel in the hand. I'm pretty picky about what I put on my phone and I am very satisfied.
I had to use a heat gun to put it on perfect but it looks nice.
I don't have any pictures on my tablet but if you look it up they have pictures or if you PM me I can email you some.
Good luck.

I would just use the battery cover skin. Is it grippy though? If someone makes a rubber-type skin for the battery lid I would like to see.
I wouldn't say its grippy like a rubber case would be but it definitely gives the phone a more tactile feel. I am extremely happy...
One thing to note is they have re designed it since I bought and it actually covers more of the phone than mine does.

Thanks for the pictures
How grippy would you say the skin is, over the stock battery lid? I don't think I'm looking for much, just something more so that I don't drop the thing.
What's interesting is the part that makes the phone easier to hold onto is not so much the carbon fiber back as it is the sides. The back definitely helps though. I don't really know how to describe it other than to say my GF does not have a skin or case on her nexus and it definitely feels slippery in comparison to mine.

I wonder where I can find a thin sheet of clear self-adhesive silicon, I could just cut out exactly what I want and save a few bucks....
Too slippy? -> Skateboard tape.
Spray some plastic dip on it. About 6 layers should do. I believe that's what was done with the nexus s when it was released.

I'm sure there are plenty other others just like me who had a Nexus One and loved the pouch that it came with. Unfortunately, my Galaxy Nexus didn't come with such a pouch I wasn't able to find anything comparable to it that I liked. So I decided to hit up Etsy and see if someone there would be able to create something for me and came across this: http://www.etsy.com/shop/Pamperedpaparazzi.
I asked the owner if she wouldn't mind making me a custom pouch for my GN and after a couple of tries she came up with these:
http://imgur.com/z1IdI,1859p,TMovx,Ejdf6
The first two pics are of the three different colors pouches I picked, the third pic is my GN in the pouch, and the fourth is my GN in the pouch suspended in the air to show you that it doesn't slip out. The nice part is that while the pouch has a good grip on the phone it doesn't press the volume or power buttons. I've been using them for over a month now and while it's not exactly like the Nexus One pouch it's damn close and they seem like they'll stand the test of time well enough (just like my N1 pouch did). If any of you are still looking for soft pouches for your GN I'd highly recommend shooting her a message.
They look very nice. Not that I'm hacking your thread but let me share my pouch for my Gnex as well

They are a little bit rough around the corners. You can definitely see the scissor cut or whatever but they're quite solid despite that. I'm pretty damn picky and, even with it's small flaws, I honestly really really love the pouch
