Can any body gimme the Stock Kernal Link for my Arc S.
You will find all stock kernel at www . wotanserver . com (sorry, I'm not yet allowed to post links), download the wotan software, choose your model and desired firmware. The Software downloads the firmware for you and installs it on your phone.
But he wants kernel only...
Open the firmware file for FlashTool with WinRAR and extract the kernel.sin and then flash it in fastboot.

How would i flash the kernel using command prompt? Sorry im abit of a noob command prompt. Or do you mean using fast boot??
And i can only find the rom for arc i cant find it for lt18
Sent from my LT18i using Tapatalk 2
Yea I meant to flash thru fastboot mode .
Download the kernel.sin file(of stock Rom).
Copy it to the same folder where you have your fastboot file.
If you are running windows 7,hold shift button and right click inside the folder and select "OPEN COMMAND PROMPT HERE"...
If you are running windows xp,open command prompt from start menu and type "cd PATH TO FASTBOOT FOLDER"...
Some times this won't work,so again type "diskdrive:" where disk drive is the drive like f: or g: ....
After it opens type this
Fastboot flash boot kernel.sin
This is the process to flash the kernel file....

did you try flashing the kernel separately???
If you succeed with that...
TRY THIS: WHEN FLASHING .42 USING FLASHTOOL, THERE IS A OPTION CALLED "EXCLUDE KERNEL"... CHECK THAT AND FLASH THE FTF FILE...
I guess that should work...

There is a Root for Jelly bean , there are different methods
method 1
download flashtool
unlock your bootloader
install a custom kernel with a recovery
install Super user VIA recovery
method 2
use bin4ry root
method 3
install custom kernel with recovery
download a pre-rooted rom
Search them up

Hi
I am looking to fully reset my arc to orignal sony Ericsson fw
so can someone point me to the latest stock fw (preferably India fw) and the guide on how to flash it
My bootloader is unlocked and i am using CM10 right now
Sent from my Xperia Arc using xda premium
If you want to get country specific software best way is to restore via Sony Update Service, but you need to relock your bootloader to use that method. For unlocked bootloader you can use flashtool to flash a ftf file but I cannot guarantee that it is India stock firmware.

Relock ftf : "C:\Flashtool\firmwares\X10_V1_BLRelock.ftf"
u dont need to unlock your bootloader just:
Download ftf file from here: http://www.qosmodro.me/2013/01/all-xperia-2011-official-stock-firmware.html
and flash it via flashtool.

If that website did not have the ftf file he will need to relock the bootloader to use SUS. SUS will determine his location and let him download the specific firmware for his phone since he was looking for Generic India firmware.

SUS is noob friendly and you don't have to find the files on the internet. The program will download it for you.

If you know how to use flashtool, you can download the ftf file from the link from the previous post and flash using flashtool. If you're not sure how to use it then use SUS, but relock the bootloader before using SUS.

I have a unlocked at&t r800at xperia play running the stock at&t firmware 2.3.3, I do have a 2.3.4 r800a north america firmware file, also have latest flashtool installed but even though i put the firmware .tft file in the firmware folder of the flashtool folders when i go to firmware option in flashtools the list to pick firmwares is blank.
Also when starting up flashtool it says something about for 2011 devices make sure mtp mode is off or something like that. Can anyone tell me the steps to install a firmware, such as does the phone need to be on or off and in what mode etc etc and why is the firmware window in flashtools is empty? Thanks

Maybe the file is corrupted re-download it and see what happens or try another firmware
If none of them works install an older version of flashtool like v 0.13.0.0 or earlier versions
